ceebee, as long as hamster is happy and growing well then I wouldn't worry too much.....remember the old "food is for fun until 1" thing! Have you tried cutting down on his milk by an oz and see if that makes a difference? bumble has a massive appetite and still has loads of feeds so I have no real experience of picky/small appetites. DS1 and DD were the same.

Jaunita, sorry you're finding it all a bit exhausting; hopefully P's sleeping will continue to get better and you will start getting a good night's sleep soon! or else just get used to the new regime .

bumble has been up on his knees crawling for a day or two!! at least the first few "steps" before getting down onto his tummy again. He's also practising balancing and lets go of the sofa a lot.....he can balance for a few seconds if he's concentrating and not too tired!

off out to the local urban farm while the sun is shining!

ellielou02 · 10/09/2009 07:55

Hi ladies, gosh its quiet on here lately.
Just bookmarking be back later

AFingerofFudge · 10/09/2009 13:22

gosh it really is quiet, is everyone out enjoying the late summer sun?? It looks really hot out so off me and M trotted to school in t-shirts and shorts - it was freeeeeezing. Had to wrap M's muslin around him to stop him getting chilly!
How's everyone??

All well here, M is lovely lovely. No crawling, no standing, no teeth, no anything really apart from sitting chewing on toys. It's a good job at the moment that he's not crawling as he'd have fistfuls of lego in his hands!! Ds1&2 are lego mad, and although I try to make them keep it in their rooms, it somehow makes its way down again.

Bah. Just made a cup of tea, and I can hear him stirring. (geddit???!!!)

see ya later

Phee96 · 10/09/2009 15:27

FoF we did the same with A today. The sunshine was deceptive

I've had my meeting with work today and I'm going back f/t asap, probably 21st of this month. It's not an ideal situation but i've managed to persuade DH that it's the solution that makes sense. It will probably only be for 4 months at the most though so I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm going to miss A so much though. We are going to put her to bed an hour later so I can do bedtime every night.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/09/2009 16:08

Glad your meeting was positive phee and that you going back was an option. You'll get another round of SMP as well won't you? I hope your DH gets something else soon though. I hope you donother one burst as I was't find it too tough; the working and the missing DD.

I called off my nappy demo today as I may or may not have chicken pox....have a wee rash on my arm and two of them have come up as blisters, and the rest have teeny heads on them (the two big ones started like that). Went to see the pharmacist, but one blister burst last night and the other went as I carried bumble from the car to a trolley and the little heads have come off as well now. She said it couldn't be CP as no blisters (even though I had just explained that they had burst) and it would be more widespread and I would definately have some on my torso and that not to worry as once the spots had appeared I was no longer contagious . I erred on the side of caution though; last thing I want to do is spread CP around mums and new babies!

ellielou02 · 10/09/2009 19:55

daisy just a quickie my gp said they come up in crops usually starting on the torso area iirc when dd1 had them they were like big red spots then took a few days to blister, I have heard some people saying that you are more contagious before the spots appear, hope you dont have them though and thats a shame you had to cancel your demo, I get my pack on tuesday actually cant wait.
Hi phee nice to hear from you, hope your ms passes soon.
fof haha at the "stirring", my dd1 loves lego too
ceebee millie would eat until she popped I gave her a roast chicken dinner the other night and it was chicken fillet about a 1/4 2 half potatoes carrots gravy peas and some yorkshire pudding and she would have just kept eating, if she has a jar its usualy about half a stage 2 then a pudding and she is about 22lb so she prob eats about the same as hamster.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/09/2009 20:51

thanks ellie; there is a cluster but only on the one arm and then a few on the back of my neck.....most odd!

I spoke to the organiser of the baby cafe and she said that next week is better for her as she has no-one else booked, so I will have the floor to myself as it were. I'll also have got myself organised with regard to business cards and leaflets nad read up on the facts about real vs dispos that lollipop sent etc etc.

PinkyMinxy · 10/09/2009 21:34

Hello all

Daisy ooh good luck for next week! I hope you get lots of customers.

Ouch for yuor rash thing.

Phee hope all goes well with back to work.

In fact, hope work is going well for everyone.

I am still decorating...it is going to take forever. Still the girls room is around about half way then we just need carpet fitted, so Mimi should be in her cot by October!

Ceebee I'm sure hamsterwould let you know if he wanted more. Mimi does like her food, she will keep trying things as long as they are offered, but does not always eat lots, IYSWIM.

Obs I've never been on a Haven holiday. Made me wish I was going on holiday!

LackaDAISYcal · 10/09/2009 22:50

Oooh, pinky; I need to ask a favour from you? Can I buy some material from you? I have knitted a lovely pram blanket for a friend, but she lives in Canada and her baby is due in October (chilly....brrrrr) and I thought if I backed it with something it would be much warmer. I love that dotty (well raised dots) fleece that bumble's blanket is backed with with but have no idea where to get the small amount I need.

can you email me daisybump at yahoo dot co dot uk?

Ceebee74 · 11/09/2009 08:33

Daisy how is your rash today? Any better?

Pinky Hamster sounds a bit like Mimi in that he will eat anything put in front of him and if you keep giving him bits and pieces, he will keep going - just doesn't seem that keen on one bowl of the same dish iyswim.

Well today has finally arrived - my last day of maternity leave Although I am not sure I could call it mat leave when both boys are at nursery so I am not actually doing any 'maternity' things DH is working from home so we are going out for a quick lunch and a quick shop to cheer me up

Am all set to go back - sorted my wardrobe out yesterday and had a clearout of my jewellery. Just a bit about what I am going back to as my manager has said there is no point in me taking over from my mat cover just yet as I am going to be off sick in 3 weeks - so they are going to find me project work to do - joy!! I hate project work

AFingerofFudge · 11/09/2009 11:13

Good Luck ceebee on your return to work. I am working tonight, oh joy!

Is anyone in need of a laugh? I think I win the award for the most stupid ironing injury. If you knew me in RL, you'd know my motto is "life's too short to iron" DH has to iron his own shirts for work on a Sunday night (I'm not a cruel wife, it's the only household chore he has to do!)About 6 months after we moved house, I had to phone him at work one day to ask him where the iron was kept- gave his mates at work a laugh.

Anyway, last night I was forced to get the iron out as I had to iron name labels onto DS2's PE kit. I ironed one on, then put the top of the t-shirt under my chin so i could fold it with my hands and....AAARRRGGGHHH! That was f*ing hot. Of course the label is still going to be hot you silly mare.
Today I am sporting a nice long blister at the top of my neck.
"see, I told you ironing was dangerous" I said to DH as I was trying to hold my neck under the cold tap.

Ho Hum. Think I better keep to MNing today while M is asleep.

LadyBuzz · 11/09/2009 13:28

Hello all, I'm back - hurray had a lovely week weather wise and the boys have had a fabulous time and have been as good as gold.
My 'aunty' (old friend of my mums) has been a right royal pain in the rear and has driven me mad all week.
I should be grateful as she took us on holiday but she is the laziest person I have ever met and she was not very nice to DS1. I even caught her smoking in my car this morning with the boys in, door was open but still I was fuming! anyhoo sorry to rant I did enjoy my week but am very very glad to be home.
On the downside I sprained my ankle quite badly 2 weeks ago when we were leaving the festival and it is still swollen bruised and very very sore, if it doesn't ease off soon I might have to take a trip to A&E to get it checked!

Right off to catch up on the posts. Hope everyone is well.

tegan · 11/09/2009 19:17

bookmarking for when i get 1 quiet minute see you all soon

twinklingfairy · 11/09/2009 21:29

Hello, hello!
I have a computer for the night!
Our laptop has been in the shop for over 3 weeks now and no closer to being fixed.
We phoned him up to find out what was happening and he said that the part had not arrived, he reckoned the suppliers were telling him fibs about how long it would be. Then asked DH if he should try another company don't you think that you should make that decision on your own?

Aaaanyway. PIL are up and FIL has brought his work laptop cos he knows we are missing ours greatly.

I am having a 'poor me' time at the moment. DD has given me a horrible cold which has floored me today
DS is teething, big style! 3 coming in at once!
And DH and I had a huge row yesterday (which was very difficult cos I have no voice!). It was all in front of the children too

Anyone else not terribly interested in any bed time action?
I am just not interested and not just cos I am feeling rotten right now.
Is this normal do you think after 10 months.
It's not that we haven't tried but it just isn't on my mind. We barely touch really nevermind snog or take things any further.

PinkyMinxy · 11/09/2009 21:37

Have emailed you Daisy. Can't actually get up the studio stairs at the min as I have put all the paint cans and stuff for doing the girls' room on them but I shall pick my way through it all tomorrow.

Ceebee yes that's just it. SHe'll eat a bowl of something for a bit them just starts blowing it out in raspberries!

ARe you back at work on monday? You know I bet you'll really enjoy it when you get back into things.

SHe has started doing this very cute 'excited shoulders and little clappy hands' thing when food she really likes comes into view- like rice pudding tonight. SHe is very cute

FoF do you now have your son's name branded onto your chin? But seriously that sounds painful. I am prone to similar acts when my mental functions seem to have deserted me. MY usual one is shaking an already open bottle of full cream milk (we get glass bottles from the milkman). Altough this is not as painful as steaming my chin it is a PITA to clean up afterwards!

LB glad the week went well, but GRR at fake auntie, and hope your ankle gets better. Personally I think you should get it checked- look where my DH ended up with his untreated football injury.

Had a lovely day in town with my girls today, DD1 picked herself the pinkest fluffiest pair of Dora slippers and is very pleased with them.

PinkyMinxy · 11/09/2009 21:41

Twinks you sound cheesed off lovey.x

coolkat · 12/09/2009 14:21

Hi ladies

Twinks hope your ok. Are you on any sort of pill twinks as I was on one and felt awful and very anti sex. We dont do it all the while but I find a quick session can say/help alot sometimes.

Pinky you sound fab glad mimi is coming along nicey.

Ladybuzz at your aunt but glad you had a good time.

Ceebee hope you enjoyed your lunch with your DH and got some nice things shopping. Bet you will knock em dead next week!

Well not done much here.Work started off well but I now feel quite negative about it. Lots of talk about no.3 but still undecided. Some pro's but lots of con's.

Had a terrifying incident this morning, Becca started choking and coughing, we were up stairs so ran to the bathroom with her, for what seemed like ages she was choking and strugging so ran down stairs with her and luckily she threw up everywhere when we got to the bottom. She had found and swaollwed a little bit of silver foil off of a tablet packet, it came out in her sick. There was also a few streaks of blood. So nearly rang an ambulance. I felt awful as don't know where she found it, just so relieved.

Right I need to go and clean the bathroom!

LackaDAISYcal · 12/09/2009 19:56

just quickly popping in (am meant to be ebaying) to say thanks pinky, hi twinkling good to hear from you and arse about your computer and rows with your DH (not very keen on that sort of nonsense here either, although DH has managed to persuade me a few times recently)....hence my recent scare....which was a false alarm, thankfully . Rash much better as well and no more spots have appeared. If the DC break out in CP in a week or so, then I guess it was CP......

I have been internetless since Thursday....bloody virgin media has been out all over Leeds and it only got back up at 6.30 pm.

but, the kitchen floor has been scrubbed to within an inch of it's life and I even pulled out the tumble drier and defluffed behind it and our bedroom rugs have been washed and there is one item in the laundry basket! I'm sure DH paid them to knock it out or something

LB, ankle sounds painful . don't underestimate how bad a sprain can be; I did my wrist years ago and it took months to heal properly. Have you got any ibuprofen gel for it? You can buy Voltarol gel over the counter now as well

Reet, back to ebay

twinklingfairy · 12/09/2009 21:10

No, not on any pills coolkat DH told me not to bother cos he was getting his vasectomy and he didn't want me to mess with my hormones anymore than we had to.
Now he has had his op and he has been given the results we wanted and we haven't tested them
It just seems to be one thing after another and the timing is just never matching. You know, if I ever get an urge, DH is nowhere to be seen or just simply the children are too easily seen IYSWIM

Sorry guys to be so meme and after being absent for so long but, who else can I share such a personal thing with? and the longer it continues the worse it feels. You know how it is, the less you do it, the less you desire it but the more you feel pressured to do it cos everyone else it doin it, right?
The few attempts we have had have just been awful with it just doing nothing for me and I have had to call a stop cos either, I don't want to fake it or it is starting to hurt
Most of the time I don't worry. I love him he loves me. He tells me a lot how sexy/gorgeous/beautiful I am but everytime he tries, it feels false (from me) or (and how dumb is this, we have been together 10 years, but..) I am embarassed or nervous, but I just clam up.

coolkat · 12/09/2009 21:39

Ohh Twink, don't worry about off loading here, I do it often enough!

Perhaps try to have a real good talk with DH. I do understand what your saying though, the longer you leave it the harder it gets.

Sorry I am no use. X

Oblomov · 13/09/2009 14:40

sorry, it wasn't Pinky who was off on holiday it was Buzz - glad time was good, less iritating aunt.
Buzz, I have twisted sprained my ankle aswell, last week - is really hurting.
sorry to hear of choking Coolkat Twinkling, I often think wanting to make love is a bit like bf'ing - supply and demand kind of thing. I am not that bothered, then when I do I remember how nice it is and then I want to more.

Rosa · 13/09/2009 14:55

Bookmarking .. I will be back ......I hope soon R

fairysad · 14/09/2009 08:40

Yeah, thats my thinking too coolkat.
Thats why I think it has been as long as it has, cos it is too easy to get complacant and forget.
May was our last attempt.
Cept for a bit of a snog and a grope form DH yesterday. But with DS in bed and DD in the other room I was just not into it. Who would be, what was he thinking?
Well, ok I know what he was thinking. He hoped it would get me in the mood for later, but I couldn't get him to stop fast enough without really putting his nose out.
What a tightrope

LackaDAISYcal · 14/09/2009 11:42

aw twink . You'll get there. From my POV it's always much more sponataneous and less of a chore if I'm half asleep so we have taken to waking the other one up for a bit of "us" time after we have dealt with waking children in the middle of the night. It seems to be working quite well.

I'm flying solo tonight; DH is in Norfolk with work and staying overnight......yipee, means I can have wine without feeling guilty

sold some more stuff on ebay last night, and have loads more to sell.....ah well best get on!

chocolategal · 14/09/2009 19:27

Just checking in, back soon x
