wow, talking, congrats ellie.

didn't have stairgates with ds1, not sure how it will go with these 2. he never tried to come down on his own, but have a feeling J is a bit more adventurous!

dozy, a tat, cooo-el. i'd love a tat, but i'm so scared i'll regret it when i'm 60, and also that it will hurt! have you thought of henna tattoo design? they're really pretty and you could maybe get a flower with 5 petals, or some design with 5 elements to it. They have beautiful hearts, flowers etc.

cricri, the crawling is so good when they do it. M just started too, and is well chuffed, though sometimes she forgets and just spins on her bottom (as she was doing for about 4 weeks!). When are you back from France? Or have you moved there?

ceebee, wow I dreeeeeeeam of a kid-free week.

lacks, great news on the PND and libido. Wow! I don't know when I last had any libido!! Before ds1.

milk. I dunno how much they are getting, but they don't eat a lot, so I think they're weight is mostly from milk (though they are quite small). They also have water in the tommee tippee cup with the flip up lid, it's very portable and easy to hold. J can do it himself but M doesn't.

I bought some fab bibs today from Bibetta. They are made of neoprene and have a pocket to catch food. They've got some reduced ones for 1.99 at the mo (tho delivery is 3.20). They do long sleeve ones which is great for these self-feeding babies! Mine are not BLW'ed but mostly eating 'our food' themselves unless it's yoghurt or mash or smoothie, we sort of do a combo. Today they had McDonald's as Ds1 reached his 20 star goal for a Happy Meal. Start 'em young I say!! (I did refrain from giving them Coke and took water for them ).

suiledonn, I feel free to pop back without catching up. I know I miss people when I am around a fair bit and haven't seen someone for a while, and wonder how they are etc. (barbs are you out there???), so it's just good to let us know how you are and leap in. Well that's what I think, but maybe everyone else thinks I'm rude!

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2009 16:56

hee hee merry, I have some BLW photos of bumble eating chips and the bun in MaccyDs. I got the fries without salt though so my parenting halo is only slipping a little bit!

I say jump in as well; if anyone is lurking out there it's always good to hear how you and the LOs are.

mMIA regulars are twinklingfairy, vbab, sparkletoes, barbareeba, monkeym, londonboots, (although I "see" those two on scrabble) and some not seem for a while (by me at least) are hanaflower, chocorange.....there must be more, but I can't think.

C'mon you lot, we want to know how everyone is

I sent off my Lollipop agreement today so hopefully I should have my nappy demo pack shortly. I already have one gig lined up that will be a regular thing so fingers crossed it will take off. I'm looking at introducing other things as well, via the website (which is very much still a work in progress) but only after the nappies are selling well. Had a good chat with Yorky about nappies yesterday and gave a mini demo to a friend and her daughter on Sunday and am feeling all fired up and excited about it all again.

bumble is a misery guts today sore gums and full of the cold, bless him.

I hope coolkat is getting on OK today.

juanitad · 01/09/2009 20:15

I may be joining the MIA list soon, as am back to work on Thursday. I will definitely try to pop in to say hi as often as I can but might find keeping up a bit hard!! I think I'm probably going to have to work every evening after P has gone to bed if I'm going to manage to get everything done. I want to be able to leave work at a reasonable hour (about 4 hopefully) and then have some quality time with P before he goes to bed, so the downside is working in the evening. I guess I'll get into the swing of things soon enough. But MN (and Scrabble!) may have to take a bit of a back seat unfortunately, at least until the school hols anyway....am already counting the weeks!! Ceebee, when are you back?

londonboots · 01/09/2009 20:50

helloooooo! daisy i'm here and sporadically reading but usually too blank to write anything meaningful. once bath and bed for M are done and we have dinner, this is my time to just zone out and surf the net. i even get a bit frustrated if DP tries to speak to me! then it's off to express and early to bed as M is very early riser.

to update...we have crawling, pulling up & standing, 6 teeth, clapping, waving but nothing near making words as far as I can tell! lots of babbling. interested in talk on milk/water. M has breast morning and night and has gone from 2 ebm bottles during the day (6 and 5 oz) to one 8oz bottle in the last week. he has water with every meal but he doesn't seem to actually drink much...oh and did i mention sleeping through!! hoorah! nearly 9 months and DP did shhh/pat so he finally worked out he wasn't going to get fed back to sleep at night...but up at 5-5.30am every day!

work is ok, nursery still is good although today was not a great day with M very unsettled. hoping it's a few days at home and his keyworker being away...anyhoo, mostly all good.

i hope it goes well for all those starting/recently started work!

saw a 6 week old baby when i went to nursery tonight - OMG! they are so tiny! it's not so long ago and can't believe M was that small! newborns are sooooo sweet!

lots of love to you all! xx

Ceebee74 · 01/09/2009 21:10

Evening all

Londonboots hi glad all is well and for the sleeping through!

Ellie well done to Millie for 'duck' DH swears Hamster said 'again' yesterday but I am very about this

Juanitad I am back at work 2 weeks today I have got this week with DH and then next week - a whole 4 child-free days to myself...then back to the grindstone (well for 3 weeks anyway before my op )

Met some friends for tea tonight - had saved loads of calories up in preparation. I chose the healthiest option on the menu I could thinking I could then have a dessert aswell...and then all my friends decided they didn't want a pudding so I didn't want to appear greedy Was really looking forward to it aswell - had to stop for petrol on the way home so bought a HUGE bar of chocolate instead

coolkat · 01/09/2009 21:18

Share your Choc Ceebee

Next week I HAVE to diet

1st day back today, went ok, we were up early. Missed Becca, don't want to work

DH had Becca and DD1 today, they all got on great! DH took them to wriggily readers and the park etc.

Becca is saying Momma now still no teeth but her bum is red roar so sure they must be nearly through

Right gonna go sort out washing ready for another day at work tomorrow!

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2009 21:49

bumble says "ta" when he wants something, but it's such a whispery gentle sound that I can't be sure that's what he is saying....

glad work was ok coolkat, and hope you didn't miss the DC too much. It'll get easier

diet.....well done ceebee and dozy (not sure I said that already). I put ON 2lbs this week, but I'm still minus 4lbs since my holiday so not all bad. Had a miserable last week and ate rubbish, so trying to get back on track this week. I'm doing SW.

PinkyMinxy · 01/09/2009 21:50

hello everyone. Hope you are feeling ok, Dasiy

sounds like people are very busy getting back to work etc.

Mimi has some more teeth and is moving well but in the wrong direction and getting very frustrated by it all. DS swears she is saying all kinds of things, but she has definitely said DD1's name, daddy and bear. THe last two were quite funny as she was looking at a where's wally book and pointing at the big drawing of wally on the front and saying 'daddy'. poor daddy! The bear is most likely because DD1 has been hooked on brewn bear brown bear since she was a baby, plus this fab book called 'jungle boogie woogie' thta we bought on holiday, but she was pointing to the teeny weeny walker books logo at the time. SHe is really into the pointing and picking tiny things up thing, which I always think is a fab stage as they look so serrious when doing it!

Well done with the weight loss, ceebee and dozy you are such fabulously well motivated people!

merry lovely to 'see' you!And creena, londonboots et al.

Sorry for wittering on.

Love to you all.x

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2009 22:04

pinky, how could I forget you from my list earlier . How are things with you?

Not seen you for ages either. With being away for two weeks on holiday, I found it really hard to catch up with the thread, so I can well appreciate why folks feel out on a limb if they haven't posted for a while.

barbareebaa · 01/09/2009 22:53

hi hi
(gah waybuloo)
i'm here too, following the chat (dh just came to stroke my arm and said i look knackered - am typing one handed cos the other ones holding my head up!)
anyway. w is crawling and pulling up too. no words yet tho. ver impressed with talking babies!! w hasn't even said dadada or mamama. it's all tss dzz pfff. hedoes this real fab villain laugh tho!
had a sort of lovely/ sad/ lovely moment the other day. we were out and sitting around on some grass. w crawled off investigating, sat down a few metres away turned smiled and waved at me! i was like now it starts, watching him live his life from a distance ha ha! am getting separation anxiety!!
well am glad your feeling better daisy and glad everyones been enjoying holidays and stuff! I can't believe we are in september already and people are back at work - it's gone so quick! hope it goes really well on thurs juanita
right should go to bed i suppose. knackered! night xx

PinkyMinxy · 01/09/2009 23:06

very sweet, barbs! mimi has not really waved yet, or clapped her hands. It's funny the difrent things they do, isn't it?

daisy I have been on holiday- had a really nice time. Things ok here. Struggling on with my bizarre 'old' family, but my own little family is fab!

Oblomov · 02/09/2009 07:45

Nice to see you back Pinky. Glad you had good holiday.
No clapping, waving , pointing or any words at all here.
I really must get him weighed. I haven't done it since end March. Yes March , only 5 months ago then. Keep meaning to go to clinic on a monday, but just never get there. Mind you when we had the A&E episode where he fell out of the pram , he was 23 - 2 then, and I think that was June. He is 12-18 month pyjamas, so I don't think I need to worry that he is underweight !!
Trying to get sorted for ds1 starting back at school on thurs.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/09/2009 09:29

ooh, where were you pinky?

I hope the old family issues aren't too crazy and that you are finding the strength to do your own thing and not be bothered by others' reactions!

We need to do another Northern meet up soon I think

Waybuloo is like baby drugs. There must be some sort of subliminal messaging going on that only small children and babies can hear in that tinkly music as it stops all three of mine (yes, even 7yo DS1) dead in their tracks and they gape, slack jawed at the TV the whole time it's on. Reminds me of that recent Doctor Who special

LackaDAISYcal · 02/09/2009 09:31

oh, and barbs, that is such a poignant observation about observing W living his life from a distance now. So so true

Rosa · 02/09/2009 20:20

Hello all . Back home again after a pretty hectic last week and a nightmare second flight ( thanks minirosa ) had an angelic dd1 though which made up for it. Back to a messy house and as have a crawling minirosa its a nighmare she is into everything and moves fast - she has sore knees as we have hard floors and I can't find her knee pads that father christmas bought her !
I have pages and pages to catch up on however ..
Oh and we have no teeth here at all !!!
I hope to be on more regularly now but Dh is working loads so I am not sure.

LadyBuzz · 03/09/2009 09:09

Hi everyone, god to see some of the ladies MIA posting. Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

Well we survived our first family festival, the boys loved it. It rained most of the weekend and we were up to our knees in mud but they were as good as gold and loved every minute! I am currently trying to get the washing caught up with as I am off to Ha ven next week with my aunty and the boys for 5 days - madness!

Jay is very happy as he loves watching the washing machine spinning

We still only have 2 teeth, he can wave and does 'how big' and says dada baba ta and hiya!

He is so quick, we have 2 stairgates, full fire guard, barricade of toys in front of the TV little scamp he is into everything and wants to be on his feet constantly!

I have read through the posts but can't remember alot .

ADs are kicking in now and I am alot calmer esp with DS1 which in turn is making me happier. We had alot of quality time at the weekend which was fab!

Daisy defo have another northern meet up soon.

No movement on the house as yet but we are keeping our fingers crossed.

Hope everyone is well.

Sorry for the mammoth post but MN has been playing up for a few days so i've not ben ble to get on!

Oblomov · 03/09/2009 16:14

Ladies my letter to HR is SENT. Hoorah. I actually caught myself smiling today. That wa a nice change. The relief is immense.

I had a nice exchange with Dzymr,on FaceBk, on her birthday. Daisy and I clicked the wrong button on the bf'ing survey. And I joked that we were duffers. Dzy wondered if daisy and I were up the duff. I said no, I meant duffers as in plonkers/nikenpoopy. Mind you, I joked that daisy had been at it like rabbits with her dh recently, since pnd lifting. Actually , likewise, dh and i have been , erm how shall I say it, you know !!! But no more babes for me unfortunately seeing as I have been 'done' as it were.

LadyBuzz · 03/09/2009 16:47

thats great obs glad it has made you smile!

Oblomov · 03/09/2009 18:41

Buzz what are you doing here ? Aren't you supposed to be mid washing cycle/pack/ panic ?

Ceebee74 · 03/09/2009 19:44

Evening all

Just checking in quickly - welcome back to those of you MIA

Had a lovely day today - took the boys to a local massive waterpark and DS1 had a whale of a time whizzing down the slides and splashing around. Hamster loved it aswell (he is a real waterbaby) - me and Hamster were in there for well over an hour and a half and he didn't whinge once, even when we got splashed over and over again Then we went for good old-fashioned fish and chips, came home and made chocolate crispy cakes

londonboots · 03/09/2009 19:50

back again! so soon! LOL!

meant to say thanks to those who gave advice on the lightweight stroller ages back - still haven't bought anything...

so, vitamins... DP went to HV (we got a letter about a review after 8mos and DP took M - just to get him weighed really!) and they recommended vitamins every day. this was the first i had heard about giving vitamins to babies - am i missing something? he eats better than we do! are vitamins necessary or not? thoughts?

xx

Oblomov · 03/09/2009 20:00

Ceebee, sounds like my PERFECT Day.
News to me Londonboots. I don't know anyone who has given babies vits. Is this new and everyone does it ? I suspect not though.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/09/2009 20:05

no need for vitamins afaik londonboots; seems like very old fashioned advice .

Are you still BFing? It was believed till relatively recently that BF babies don't get enough iron, but it has since been proved that the iron is BM is more bio-available, so although there is low iron content, almost all of it is absorbed by baby and a BF baby gets more iron than a FF one as most of the iron in formula is pooped out the other end.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/09/2009 20:09

oh, and PMSL obs, but I'm not sure twice in one weekend counts as rabbits. I am slightly concerned about MrD's fertility though as he never sent his samples in after his op, and although it was done in Feb, we have probably only done it a handful of times since then so he may well still be live (depending on how often he has...erm...y'know )......ah well, time will tell I suppose
