Choc glad to hear you are enjoying work!

OOh and speaking of hearing..Yay I am all fixed, thoroughly hoovered out and I can hear better than I have for ages. I feel so much better.

Mimi has started crawling- sort of, not properly, she is kind of commando crawling, we are all very impressed

coolkat I am fine, thanks for asking, very busy!!

re your fire- you know we have one of thise big fire guards and it works really well- not everyone's cup of tea, I grant you, but we have a real fire and I can't be bothered constantly removing the children from it or asking them to leave the companion set alone

Hope everyone is ok.x

tegan · 04/08/2009 07:19

Morning all you lovely ladies

O only slept 9.5 hrs last night so we have been up since 5.30, which is quite good as i have to get out the door early today and i have been sorting out activities to take to mums for the kids. We are going to my parents today because the bloody water board are switching out water off at 8 am and it won't be back on until 7pm, but i bet they don't refund me some of the £70 per month they have off me .

I will try to pop on later as dad is internet able, so i might have to have a sanity half hour on mn

see you laters

LadyBuzz · 04/08/2009 08:05

Morning All,

Tegan well done O again long may it continue.

Creena Welcome back I also had a boy - Jay on November 3rd by elcs.
He is a little doll, Sitting up, rolling and kind of semi crawling - also loves the fireplace!
We have a big fireguard Pinky but I don't want to put it up until we move (depending on when we sell the house of course!). I think they are great!

We have 2 teeth now - finally bless him.

Well mst run, the HIPS inspector coming this morning and I need to clean!

coolkat · 04/08/2009 08:17

I need to get a fire guard, itsdrivig me insane!! Only flicked the kettle on and she was there over the mound of obstacles playing with the fake coals despite being put at the other end of the lounge. She was also up at 5. I fear today will not be a good day......

Glad you can hear no PINKY

Saw on FB Monkey's 1st day went well at work. x

Ladybuzz hope the Hips man goes well.

Tegan have a good day at your parent, X

Got my wedding outfit www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_17636_1060655_-1 and christening outfit, this with black trousers www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_66838_1102815_-1 (more emerald green in real life). Happy as all reasonable priced (got discounts too) and size 12 . Love the christening outfit but still getting used to the dress for the wedding as ALWAYS wear trousers. Just need to buy shoes, jewellery and stuff now.

Speak to you soon .

Creena · 04/08/2009 09:57

Thanks for all the replies and updates ladies! Seems like we had loads of boys in our group!

Whereabouts in the country are you, coolkat? I ask because we have a huge fireguard that we no longer use. Our new house doesn't have a fireplace whereas our old one did, so I'm pretty sure it's just sitting in the garage now. If you're nearby, you're welcome to come and see if it's the kind of fireguard you're after and if so, you can have it. You'd be doing me a favour by making a bit more space in the garage!!

I'm on FB too and have photos of my gang loaded up - it would be excellent to add you all. My name is Corrina McHale if you want to look me up and add me.

Not a lot happening today. It's raining yet again. I'm so fed up with all this rain now. We're going to Cornwall in just under a fortnight's time and I bet it will pour down the whole time we're there. Harumph.

Yorky · 04/08/2009 10:16

Moring all

V jealous of any baby who ONLY sleeps 9.5hrs! I was up 5 times (I think) last night. Each time is only a short wake up and boob and back to sleep, but its the broken sleep which is breaking me! I know I'm making a rod for my own back by still having her in our room, and she isn't waking because she's hungry, and its just the easiest way to settle her, but I don't want to be awake for the longer time it takes to settle her by shushing etc even though I KNOW I should.

Nice to 'see' you again Creena, scary age gap, mine is 22months and I find that hard going.

Has anyone else found teeth put LO off their food? She really isn't eating much atm, and I'm blaming teeth because I always blame them for everything!

Hope things are going better for you Vbab

Hi Creena

I have found you I think on Facebook and added you.

I am in leicestershire, where abouts are you?

Vbab clothes look lovely, I am sure you will look fab. X

tegan · 04/08/2009 13:36

creena hope you don't mind but i have requested you too on fb.

AutumnLady · 04/08/2009 13:42

Afternoon ladies!

Sorry have been elusive and absent recently, far too much stress with ex-h going on and it's really upset me if I'm honest. Am fine now and at work so won't be posting for long as it will be time to head off and get J from nursery.

Need a moment to catch up but hoping you are all ok and will let me back in to the fold

xx

PinkyMinxy · 04/08/2009 14:42

hello all

yorky mimi went off her food a bit when her top teeth started coming- her latch also went a bit rubbish for a few days, but she seems to be fine now.

vbab hope the docs went well. If it helps I have absolutely no regrets about telling my GP about my problems, I think it has been the best thing I have ever done (aside from having DC, obv). It is very difficult but it has set me on a path that has changed my life for the better in so many ways.

yay for the teeth, LB!

Rosa · 04/08/2009 14:56

Hello again - CornwallCreena I can confirm is damp still but they say its getting better later in the week ...hmmmmmmmmmm will see.
Nice outfits Vbab and size 12 am
Dad is getting better under supervision and he does get a bit stressed out over the meds and tends not to listen so all my patience is stretched as of course he won't listen to his wife ! Thanks for all your messages.
Yorky I negotiated with minirosa and dh - He goes and does teh shusshing if she wakes before 2-3am. I will get up and feed her once only round that time . If she is awake before 6 then he goes and after 6 I go as if I go near her she wants food just to settle her. So far it works and she has already stopped waking round midnight ish and often she sleeps to 6.30 /7 from 3 we are not there yet but its better.
no teeth yet but mrosa is crawling.....not out of a room yet but she is after anything...including the cat !
Autum Lady sorry about your continuing probs dh and I hope you can sort things out and not be too upset /stressed.do keep dropping in

Creena · 04/08/2009 15:33

CoolKat & Tegan - have added you!

CoolKat - I live in North Staffs, not far from Uttoxeter. That's probably too far to travel for a fireguard. If you are interested though, I'll dig it out of the garage at the weekend and measure it for you, just to make sure it's the size you want. I've got to have a rummage in the garage anyway to dig out the holiday stuff so it'll be no bother.

Yorky - I definitely think teething affects their appetites. Conor used to go off his food quite a bit. Eoin shouts a lot when he's teething. An awful lot. He's been shouting for about a week now and there's still no sign of any teeth.

Rosa - thanks for the weather check! I hope it keeps getting better and better. I mean, surely we've had enough rain by now....

Yorky · 04/08/2009 15:56

Hmmm, Coolkat and Creena, between Staffs, Leicestershire and Shropshire we should be able to manage a midlands meet up?

OP posts:
tegan · 04/08/2009 16:01

autumn so nice to hear from you and of course i am glad you are feeling more like your old self.

I am back home now and dh is cooking tea, bolognese,

Ceebee74 · 04/08/2009 16:36

Afternoon all

Vbab those clothes are lovely - the dress is just gorgeous and is exactly my taste (not sure if that is a good or bad thing ) How did the doctors go?

Autumn welcome back and don't worry about being AWOL - glad you are feeling better. at your ex-H - as if having a 8/9 month old baby isn't hard enough fgs!!

Creena will try and find you on FB (probably through Coolkat if she has already found you)

Hi to everyone else!

Had a lovely day today - been to the gym this morning and then drove to the Traff Centre to meet a friend for lunch and a little shop - twas lovely. Even found out that Pizza Express do 'diet' pizzas (well kind of ) - they are pizzas with a big hole cut out in the middle and replaced by some salad leaves It was very tasty though - you still get the yummy taste of pizza but without the guilt!

Am I wrong to quite enjoy my Tuesdays without the boys??

PinkyMinxy · 04/08/2009 17:44

ceebee your day sounds lovely

Creena I think we are going to Cornwall at the same time! Our tent usually brings us some sunshine, so here's hoping!!

Sorry I'm just scanning posts as I'm quite busy so keep missing stuff.

Autumnlady hello and I echo others in Grr at your ex

I too am v. at the size 12, Vbab!

PinkyMinxy · 04/08/2009 17:45

Poor Ds has taken himself off to bed, he has a temp and tummy ache and a cough. I think it's whatever DD1 had last week.

coolkat · 04/08/2009 18:57

Oh I hope DS is ok Pinky. X

Ceebee, No don't feel guilty make the most of every second. The diet Pizza's are nicer in my opinion as it gives you something else to eat rather than just mouthful after mouthful of the same IYSWIM.

Vbab hope doc's was ok?

Yorky midlands meetup sounds good.

Rosa your agreement with your DH sounds fab.

Autumn sorry your having problems with your exH. The last thing you need I am sure.

Creena thanks for the offer of the fire guard, if only we were closer! We may resort to putting the travel cot up downstairs to contain her!!

Me and DH have had a big argument and we are not speaking, he did not eat the roast dinner I made and I swear I could have thrown it at him. I am feeling mega P'd off and do not know how to end the argument as we are both being slightly unreasonable Rahhhhh Feel so sad and cross. He has gone to work.

PinkyMinxy · 04/08/2009 20:45

Coolkat x

I often find an 'I love you' text once I have calmed down and relaxed for a bit is enought to break an impasse.

DS is rather poorly. I have just been singing his baby songs to him, but then he wanted me to sing the dreamland song that Big from Big and Small sings to his toy dinosaur and I couldn't remember the words...thankfully he is very forgiving in this regard and has gone to sleep now.

Ceebee why are you feeling guilty?? I wish that
a) I had put my children down for playgroup when they were born (daftamundo waiting lists around here)so I could get the odd afternoon to myself or
b) I still had my consultancy work. I didn;t like it but it would have got me out of the house for a bit..SO DON'T FEEL GUILTY YOU LOON!!

I love my DC and do not regret becomming a sahm, but I do so treasure my time without them too. I think this is quite normal.

coolkat · 04/08/2009 20:57

Pinky, wish I could but feel so cross that stupid argument got out of hand. No good at ending arguments, especially ones that he caused

The stupid argument was over him wanting to go away again at the end of the month but I have put my foot down and said we need to keep what bit of money we have as next month childcare bill to pay and his wages lower next month as no overtime etc. We have been to Centre parcs and to somerset this year and we need to go to Ireland in October to see his Brother. The cheapest break here he could find is £340 but then there is spending money, meals out, petrol and it is just not necessary. I am being sensible as I always am with money he is being a tit.

Ohhhh sorry it all came out in a bit of a rant. Oooopppsss

ellielou02 · 04/08/2009 21:24

chocgal glad your work is going well and E 8is eating very well
lb yay for the teeth
vbab hope you got on well at the docs today and your outfits are lovely.
creena hello, I didnt join till PN but its nice to meet you. Will try to find you on FB
yorky hope you get some sleep tonight
Rosa glad your dad is getting better, and good on you making a agreement with your DH.
AutumnLady hello glad you are feeling a bit better, bringing up a baby is hard enough, let alone woring also and having to put up with extra stress from your exh.
tegan hope your tea was good yumm.
ceebee no you are not wrong to enjoy your own time, you need time on your own, your pizza sounds lovely will need to try that next time.
pinky hope your DS is ok.
coolkat hope you and your DH are speaking soon.
I have been trying to get something for DH birthday (tomorrow) it is a nightmare, if he wants something he just buys it and if I ask him what he wants he says dunno so he has a belt and a wallet [shrugs shoulders) I feel bad though cos I can always think of things I want and I get spoiled.

PinkyMinxy · 04/08/2009 21:48

coolkat I was going to say..

I find an I love you text usually breaks any impasse..and gives DH the opportunity to apologise wihtout having to bee the first one to speak But you sound very sensible and I wish I was as sensible with money!

Ellielou you have my sympathy, DHs are im[ossible to buy presents for. I bought DH some really nice shirts this year and he was dead pleased..but yaaawwn

I am now up with DS watching Nemo..he is officially poorly as there is no way he would be up otherwise. The only other time this has happened was when he had chickenpox and I had to watch Thomas with him.

vbab78 · 04/08/2009 22:35

autumnlady sorry to hear you have been having a bad time of it.
ceebee glad you had a nice "diet" pizza. So of your gym motivation. It is completely fine to enjoy your Tuesday's. Helps you re-energise.
coolkat hope things have cooled down with DH. put clingfilm on the dinner for his lunch or dinner tomorrow . sorry your DH is being a tit. but i believe you are right. £ is tight simple as.
pinky hope DS better soon.

Thanks for all your well wishes and nice comments regarding the outfits. The doctors went great today. Was bricking it and at times nearly cried. But the Dr is amazing such a lovely lady. Everything she said was so spot on to how i have felt and even the excuses you come up with to put off seeing the doctors. Dont want to bore you with all the conversation but so wish i had seen her sooner. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH for your support and encouragement to see the Dr. I'm now in the AD club and see her again in 3wks to review. Big shout out to dozy and obs. dozy the list did the trick.

Got to go now to bed. Got that meeting at work tomorrow. Eek!

twinklingfairy · 04/08/2009 23:28

Grr at your silly DH chocgal. I am sure his intentions are good, to have a wee break away, but if you can't afford it, you can't afford it and 3 holidays in one year is pretty good going, no?
I am the money minder in this house too and constantly at DH to curb his spending. He just fritters it away on nothing in particular, though, then complains when there is none left.
His best, load of nonsense, recently has been 'I will just use my money then' He means the credit card. His money? Ya numpty that is debt you are accruing!! Plonker.

Rosa we have a similar sort of thing going on here, though we haven't actually discussed it. DH settles J for most of the night but by 3 or 4, J is just cross with DH for being DH and not being mummy with the booby milk. He wakes again at about 6, at which point DH brings J through for a nappy change and more boob, to grab another couple of cheeky hours once DH is off to work.

Yorky I was exactly the same as you up to about a month ago when I finally caved and moved J in with DD. I was soooo worried that it was going to be a nightmare, but J totally settled and immediately started sleeping better.
DH also had to start pulling his weight too. J being in with us (and actually in with me) meant that he had had an easy ride of it. Well, no more.
I am actually much happier with the situation as it is now, but I put it off for the longest time through fear of shooshing or CC.

aw, your poor DS pinky hope he is not ill for long.
My DD was complaining of a sore tummy tonight. I asked was it inside or outside, she told me inside but seemed fine.
20 minutes later and a wee shout from upstairs. The little love had been quietly (so as not to wake her brother) sick all over her bed and was having her wee shout from the bathroom.
We sorted her out, checked she was ok and popped her back into bed with a furry blanket, which she was very happy about cos 'It feels like the cat'

Sorry mammoth post but have to complain. There are children outside (Yes! At 11 o'clock at night!) on their bikes. One is on one of those low riding 3 wheeler things. But this one is plastic and made for skiding. Which he is duly doing, outside my house!!
What a bleedin racket it makes!
Second night in a row.
He is a troublemaker so we have not approached or said anything cos I would fear damaged property but have instead, phoned the police for 2 nights now. Not sure they have actually done anything though.
But, where are the parents!? Do they know the children are out this late. They must, surley?!
How awful. Feel sorry for the children in a way.

Sorry about the essay, again
