crossed with many posts earlier.

i ate nearly half the choc cake . not sick so i guess it was ok . so, should i now eat the other half .

are you impressed at the 3-emoticon paragraph?

shoes, 3 years ago (ie pre-children) you wouldn't have caught me in flats. i wore mostly platforms and heels. now, i'm seen mostly in flats. would love a pair of birkenstocks but DH got me a pair of fitflops for my bday, very nice.

Rmonkey, lovely to get a smile.

llare, i know you're watching your spending but it may be worth it to look in the sales for a new dress for that wedding. it would make you feel good as well

Just got back from C's 8 wk check. She's still huge and following that 98th centile to the dot, she hasn't come of it once yet. That makes her 14lbs5oz, exactly 2lbs heavier than 3 weeks ago! She wasn't too bad from the jabs. She was hungry and crying beforehand, so the jabs only made the crying louder. A feed straight after made everything better and she went straight to sleep (until now).

swine flu DH's friend's wife had it last week. They also live 2 doors down from us. DH was stupid enough to go and have dinner at their's on mon. He said the woman wasn't infectious anymore, but her son had it and was in bed. I can't beleive he went in a house where there are more than 1 case while we've got a young baby. As llare I'm counting on the BF to help C with any infection if one of us were to catch it.

pula thanks for the compliments. If you think C's cheeks are cute, you should see her chubby little legs!

drinking I don't quite drink enough either I think. I do try to sit down with a big glass while she has a feed, but that goes out of the window when we're out and about.

grumpy Hope your DH comes to his senses soon.

Right. I better leave you ladies now and see if I can fit all our stuff in DH's car.

Have a good weekend and until next week sometime

Reggiee · 09/07/2009 18:27

Quick post to report on my VERY VERY rubbish day. Am exhausted. Had my first visit with toddler to hospital followed by dentist. Fell out of bed over bed guard onto wooden floor, hitting her mouth. Bloodied nose, swollen/purple lip, bleeding purple gums, two wobbly teeth. Poor poor thing . Nevere heard a scream / cry like it and never want to again .

After returning home (mil thankfully came straight over to look after B), the health visitor then rang to say she'd spoken to the dietician and they think B has some sort of milk intolerance, so have to go to the dr's next week to get special formula prescribed . I so hope it works.

No name checks except to say Grumpy, hope today was ok for you.

runningmonkey · 09/07/2009 19:16

Ooh reg big hug. Sounds horrible, how is dd now?

Both my brothers were milk intolerant as babies but grew out of it by school age. I know it's not great but it is manageable. Will ask my mum if she has any good tips if you like.

pulapula · 09/07/2009 19:51

reggiee- how horrible for DD and you . Hope DD is feeling OK now, and that B is OK. What do they do about her wobbly teeth? I fell and bumped my mouth when i was a few years older and therefore not milk teeth, but they made a plastic mould which i had to wear for a while to cover the teeth and those next to them to fix them back in place.

Tummum · 09/07/2009 20:12

Reggie owch, poor LO & poor B & poor you

Blottedcopybook · 09/07/2009 20:38

Ouch Reggiee that sounds awful

Grumpy Huge hugs, hope your DH has apologised. I haven't forgotten about your mat btw I've just been totally floored this last couple of weeks, I've barely looked at my sewing machine.

Swine flu from what I've been told, the swine flu variant isn't actually that bad - anyone who has really suffered with it has had underlying health issues that have complicated it. Just keep up with the handwashing and you should be okay.

I am so angry with my kids today that I've implemented a new bedtime regime. They're all going to bed at 7pm because they're being so bratty. F (who is 8) can stay up later because he's not being as much of an arse as the younger ones but honestly today I could totally understand why some species eat their young.

pulapula · 09/07/2009 21:02

blotted- 7 o'clock bedtime for DD and DS1 in our house - we need it! DS2 was asleep by 7.40 too.

Febes · 09/07/2009 21:25

grumpy I'm glad you are feeling better today. I hope your DH has come crawling on his knees to worship at your wonder by now.

Blotted Eat their young brilliant.

reggie that sounds scary and horrible to deal with. febes takes wines and runs away with it.

I have been asked to go out with friends in Wimbledon tomorrow night but have only just got DS down tonight after 3 hours trying, feeding, shushing, fretting..... I feel a bit useless saying I can't make it out on the town but I also feel pulled in yet another direction by someone else who needs me. I have offered that they all come to mine for dinner and drinks but haven't heard anything back yet. If they come and DS plays up I will also feel stressed so maybe I should just cancel altogether.

I feel quite down today.

pulapula · 09/07/2009 21:35

febes - don't feel useless to say you can't make it. I don't think i am ready to go out for the evening yet, even though DS2 takes a bottle and has been going to bed nicely these last 3 days. They are still very little. Sorry you have been feeling down today.

Febes · 09/07/2009 21:51

In a way I feel upset that they have suggested that we go out. We normally meet at eachothers house. There are 5 of us and we meet up each month or so and have turns making dinner. They had a night when DS was 4 days old and I felt bad to say I couldn't go to that but he was 4 days so i was in a complete daze and my mum was with me so I wanted to spend time with her. Another of the girls has a 5 month old and she bought her along for all nights so far but then they organise a pub night when mine is not even 8 weeks??? I don't know why I am over reacting like this as I went out when DD was 4 weeks but DS is taking longer to settle and is still feeding 3 hourly and I haven't the time to express. DH is working all hours given to man. I could go on. I think I'm just down.

LoobyLou36 · 09/07/2009 22:05

evening all..

well I feel like I've spent all day bf M, I took her upstairs 10mins ago and put her in her moses basket so am anxiously listening to the baby monitor and watching psychoville think she is starting to fret

llareggub · 09/07/2009 22:24

Hello all

febes sorry that you are feeling down. I bet your friends aren't thinking rather than trying to exclude you. I bet if you go it'll be as good as a holiday but there is nothing wrong with staying at home either. You must do what feels right for you.

Blotted lol at eating their young. I felt like that at times today!

grumpy any news?

Reggiee your poor DD! Have a virtual cocktail.

Tummum Love the dress!

water I'm drinking a lot at the moment to help with feeding and dieting. My skin looks great!

DS1 has his first sports day tomorrow and he is SO excited. Unfortunately I rather overdid Davina's power of 3 workout and now I can barely walk, so I definitely won't be running any races tomorrow!

I had a refund on my Take That ticket so I splashed out on the Boden sale. I decided against buying a new outfit for the wedding in a few weeks as I pulled out a dress from the back of my wardrobe last worn in 2002 but looking very suitable for a wedding. I can also breastfeed in it, I have a hat, shoes and bag to match so I'm happy.

LoobyLou36 · 09/07/2009 22:32

right we're off to bed that's if M ever stops feeding

pulapula · 09/07/2009 22:38

Night night looby- fingers crossed M sleeps til after 5 again!

Although S has shown he can sleep 7 hours, he does it in the evening, so as I usually don't go to bed til 11, I still only get 2 hours before he wakes for a feed and then maybe 4 hours solid after if i'm lucky (but otherwise 2 and 2), so still getting broken sleep. DH has agreed to give a dreamfeed at 11 tomorrow night to see if that improves things (last time he tried S still woke at 1). We will see...

Tummum · 09/07/2009 22:49

Llare of boden sale shopping. I am avoiding looking and spending yet more £. Glad you found a nice outfit for the wedding

Looby hope M sleeps well tonight

Pula glad to hear DH taking the 11 feed - enjoy your sleep tomorrow night

Febes I would be a bit too - I am sure it's just thoughtlessness

Forgot to say earlier that I had a grovelling phone call from work this afternoon about SMP and vouchers (I sent a letter yesterday as a formal grievance.) It has miraculously been sorted . Perhaps my mention of getting a Union involved did the trick . Frazz, how are you getting on with your fight on this?

Momino · 09/07/2009 23:02

evenin' all. febes defn say no. there will be other nights out but it's too soon, you'll be stressed, stay home. make up for it later. and don't worry too much about saying no.

llare, glad you found a dress and did some shopping.

reggiee, hope you're ok.

tummum, good about the grovelling .

Harper has been asleep since 8pm and now starting to wake. better go hide, she might think ihave milk .

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 09/07/2009 23:03

Hello all

Well, he's been round to collect some stuff as I said he couldn't come home. He's coming over tomorrow afternoon whilst kids are at school to 'talk'. He looked very sad, but I stayed firm. Unfortunately, his visit will clash with the live webchat here with the guy from Doodle-Do (I love him and already offered to doodle-do him on the webchat thread ).

I think he wanted to come home tonight but I'm still far too angry. But I am feeling better just for being able to offload here.

Reggiee Oh my! How horrendous, is she ok? How completely terrifying for you, vats of alcohol and hugs all round I think.

Blotted Yep, I'm with you on the 'eat their young', also with those that eat their mate.

Loobs have you bfed all day again, magic norks!!!

Ooh the milk monster stirs.....night all!

Blottedcopybook · 09/07/2009 23:31

Night Grumpy, I hope he appears brandishing flowers, chocolates and lots of apologies! xx

FiKelly · 10/07/2009 06:32

runningm first smile

looby grace bf's on and off most evenings then conks out at 10pm to sleep till 4.30am.. it was 5.30am this morning. which was great but i'd still been awake earlier as it was past her usual feed time. i try to remember to drink a glass of water with every feed but i don't always manage it..

swine flu i've also worried about grace getting it being so young..

grumpy i hope your dh sees he was out of order and realizes he needs to be supportive and help not add to the daily guff.

reggie your poor dd. hope she has a good day today.

belgian have a fab time.

febes don't feel bad.. i'm not ready to leave g for an eve at 7wks.. and we've just got the bf sorted out.. i've yet to express anything worthwhile and would prefer not to re introduce formula just yet. plus g feeds so much in the evenings i don't really want to go anywhere as it's nice to have a comfy seat for it.

uhoh ds awake & dh has just left to go fishing. grace asleep on my shoulder.. i've heard ds put his light on.. i wonder how long he'll play for before asking to come out.. the door is sticking on the new carpet in his room and he can't easily open his door.

Momino · 10/07/2009 06:48

morning. grumpy, i know you'd rather be chatting with doodle do today but hope your chat with dh goes well and he can see your pt of view, apologise, make things work, etc. it's good you had a couple of nights break to think.

inlaws coming today to stay weekend to help prepare kitchen to paint. means help with the older 2!

can i talk about somethin so superficial? i'm with all that grump, llare, pula, actually all with tough days.... but i can't find a pair of jeans that fit properly. bought a pair from topshop sale that fit perfectly, if too snug, in the shop. now, they slip down like my maternity ones did. tried a belt but have to cinch tightly and that hurts. thankfuly only cost £10.

where do you buy your jeans, those of you who like your jeans? Levis? bought a pair of levis in the states last year but they're hipsters so slip down as well. Gap? i don't want to go too expensive but do want at least one pair of jeans that don't give me a baggy bum.
