fi well done. You must feel so proud

grumpy @ your DH. As if you'd get PND on purpose. No wonder you told him to go away. I'll give you a virtual help. Unfortunately my virtual help wont be any use to you . I'd give you a hand if you lived around the corner though. Get an appointment with your GP/see your HV to talk about how you feel. They'll be able to get you some help.

Tummum fab outfit. You'll look really glamourous!

C's having fun with her baby gym again. She's comming on so lovely now.

I'm looking forward to the midland shopping trip next week. I desperately need to go to Bravado. My Mothercare bra is doing absolutely nothing for me. I can still feel my boobs dangling on my belly . I'm in need of some decent scaffold type bras I think .

Home was lovely, however it was boiling hot and had some raised eye brows from my cousin because C wasn't wearing a vest (her 4mo baby was) + my aunties and uncles were trying to instruct me about how to hold a baby . I'm pretty sure I've worked out that one being a mum of three and a mw and all that. Finally they kept suggesting C might need a bit of water as it was so hot. Errr, no, she's BF and it's special watery adjusted for hot weather milk. Like Jenn said, it's magic stuff.

Tummum · 08/07/2009 18:09

Grumpy at your DH ! Does he really think you choose to feel like that?! Men are rubbish sometimes. Take care of yourself.x

Belgianchocolates · 08/07/2009 18:13

grumpy I meant a big virtual hug

runningmonkey · 08/07/2009 18:42

Oh grumpy grrr at your dh. Get yourself to dr if you can and do you have anyone who can come and give you a hand during the day?

LoobyLou36 · 08/07/2009 19:26

men are crap grumpy fikelly well done on your good day and on the no formula top ups
so far today no formula - can we manage 24hrs

ladyhelen2 · 08/07/2009 20:03

tummum loving the dress, and loving the shoes even more!! Good work.
grumpy Tesco is enough to bring anyone to tears I think. And grr at your DH. Am sure he now realises what a prize chump he is for saying that. Like you have control over how you feel.
fi and looby I have much admiration for you as you have perservered (sp?). A virtual medal for you both.

Nearly close to tears tonight. Don't know if anyone remembers but DH lost DS1's favourite cuddly toy when they went camping. DS1 has been totally fab about it and v grown up until tonight. He had a melt down about me not allowing him to watch tv after his bath and just stated crying for his "favourite ga-ga" (ga-ga was his name for the giraffe). He was truly inconsolable and it broke my heart. I fear Ga-ga is gone forever as I even went back to the campsite to have a look and no sign. Last hope is that he is in the tent somewhere, now in its bag again. I may have to get it out tomorrow and have a look. Here's hoping..........

pulapula · 08/07/2009 20:30

grumpy- poor you. I agree with others that it really helps to talk to HV or GP about how you are feeling. Not surprised you sent DH away.

fi and looby- well done on the BF.

S was perfect going to bed again. I have been giving him EBM the last 2 nights to make sure i know he's had a good feed. He has about 5oz (150ml) then when i hold him on my shoulder, he starts to wriggle, so i put him down with his dummy and he goes straight to sleep . I managed all 3 DCs at bathtime/bedtime until DH got back from London at 7pm tonight which i was quite proud of as DH is usually home from work by 5.30.

Belgianchocolates · 08/07/2009 21:20

ladyH I feel your pain. Even though DS is 7 he's still very much attached to his fafa (a beige and orange elephant). I can't imagine what he'd do if he lost it. We've spent many a night searching the house for the thing + even went back to Dover once after we got someone from the port to drive back to the ship to fetch him (fafa's a boy )!

Oh, question for the reusable nappy people. Has anyone had any experience with 1 size nappies? Did they last until toddlerhood? I suspect C will be a big toddler, so I'm wondering whether the few birth to potty nappies I have will actually last that long.

Logging off now. I'm watching Torchwood and can't miss it!

flippineck · 08/07/2009 21:37

Evening all! One handed typing again, A has been frantic again but has just fallen asleep on me.

tummum - lovely outfit! Personal shoppers are good, aren't they? I went in Debenhams a few years ago and ended up with something great for a wedding. Perhaps I should go again now to find some everyday stuff.

fi and looby - well done both on the bf.

grumpy - higs, cake or both? More grring at your DH, not helpful at all. Hope you do get the help/support from somewhere soon.

ladyhelen - that book sounds interesting, will look for it in the library.

All ok here. A has only slept in the pram today, and only when I'm walking quickly - very helpful! So we had loads of screams in the Post Office, in M&S (changing gifts) and in Tescos. Why do people have to comment: must be hungry, must be tired, must be bored etc etc. I know why she's crying, it's because she's a baby who doesn't like to be still and on her own...and if you got out of my way I'd be able to move again and it would be much quieter for you. So there!

Anyway, we've survived. DD1 is still testing things, bedtimes are a nightmare. We had the poo today - 6 days since the last one. Not explosive, but huge and pretty grim. And A managed to poo at the same time as big sister who has been eating an awful lot of fruit! Took me about 20 minutes to get them both cleaned up, nappies rinsed etc, nightmare.

pulapula · 08/07/2009 21:38

ladyH- hope you find ga-ga. My DD has a humphrey elephant/blanket and my DS1 has a jack elephant/blanket (we thought it would be cute for them to have matching comforters). DD won't suck her thumb/calm down without H, and DS1 just chews Jacks trunk when he is tired. Luckily we bought 2 of each so we can wash them and always have a spare. Wonder what DS2 will get attached to?

flippineck · 08/07/2009 21:42

belgian - not sure about the nappies. We've got a few MotherEase onesize nappies that DD1 uses. She's 28 months now and has got a reasonable amount of space lef in them so I'm pretty sure they'll last until she's potty trained, but she is tall and quite slim (75th for height, just over 25th for weight - very much like her dad, not me!)

flippineck · 08/07/2009 22:16

Right, I'm off to bed. Night all!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 08/07/2009 22:39

Hello all, thanks for your support.

He's at his mate's house, I've had a couple of horrible texts off him, fortunately I was upstairs with S screaming and Dd2 crying hysterically. S has screamed a lot today and hardly slept. I finally settled her and DD2 in my bed in time for Torchwood.

I didn't bother to reply and then got 'Say night night to the girls for me' and 'my phone's going flat so if you need me text me on

llareggub · 08/07/2009 23:01

Oh Grumpy I am so sorry. I've been there too recently, as you know. I wonder if there is something in men that just implodes after the birth of the baby? So many just turn into complete twunts. Is there anyone nearby you could meet up with?

Momino · 08/07/2009 23:35

blimy, there's too many things going on this thread, I'll never be able to name check all.

grumpy, has this mood been going on very long? I hope you do seek some help. there is support out there. glad you've come on here, we're here to support and listen. Wish I could get out to you but no car. Pleasse know you're welcome to mine whenever. I make a good cup of tea (for an american ). I'd love to see you anyway.

Your DH is being unreasonable and think reebee could be right - my dh sometimes trivialises things I think to make them less scary to him/me .

Pula so glad S is settling down for sleep.

looby and Fi, echoing compliments on BF, well done!

tummum great outfit!

ladyH, hope you find it. bless.

everyone else, hope you're well.

frazzledoldbag · 08/07/2009 23:45

Hi ladies.....sorry I've been so rubbish and have abandoned you all for a few weeks. Just been horribly busy (3 kids and trying to run a company is just too hard). Baby H is a darling tho and keeps me sane when things get tough with work and stroppy madam DD2.

Sorry to hear some of you are struggling a bit - not had time to read through more than one page but grumpy have some love and hugs from me x x x x x x you poor thing, men can be insensitive pillocks sometimes. Hope you manage to feel better soon - sorry my advice is rubbish - and have no time as baby H needs fed and i need sleep but I'LL BE BACK (in my best Arnie Schwartz-watsit voice). Did I miss the new thread cocktails?

llareggub · 08/07/2009 23:46

Yes, a lot better Momino, thanks for asking. Things aren't brilliant but we are working on it and hopefully it will be OK.

FiKelly · 09/07/2009 08:22

grumpy how was your night? I hope your dh realised what an *rse he was yesterday and kicks himself into gear.

flippineck · 09/07/2009 08:24

Wow, I'm first today! Hope you all had reasonable nights.

Nothing really to report here - A slept until 5:30, had a feed and went back to sleep. DD1 and I have been up for a while, cool and sunny here so will get the nappies on the washing line and then we'll head out to meet some frinds for lunch and soft play once A's awake, fed, bathed and dressed. I'm stil only bathing her once or twice a week, mostly only when I remember - are other LOs not getting bathed much? On Sunday we bathed both girls together for the first time, it was quite nice really as DD1 wanted help wash A and give her toys to play with.

Fingers crossed for good days for you all, and where men are being unreasonable have a bolt of lightening.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 09/07/2009 08:32

Morning! Not too bad a night here. We're still co-sleeping but I've asked DH to move O's cot into our room and put it against my side of the bed with the side off. I'm hoping O won't notice so much when we move him into his cot then.

DH is home today and tomorrow as it's his birthday today.

Grumpy - I hope your DH has come to his senses. Also hope you manage to get some support from your GP/HV.

FiKelly · 09/07/2009 08:44

tummum the dress is fabby but i adore the shoes..

FiKelly · 09/07/2009 08:48

that's my shoe fetish.. not saying you have one too tummum ;) I must re read before posting! lol

Tummum · 09/07/2009 09:17

Fi - you have got me sussed ! But I have been a cheapskate up to now... it's the first time I have spent more on the shoes than the dress, but I think that's the way it ought to be . Only problem is I haven't worn heels in about a year (because of SPD and I love my birkies) so need to get some serious practice in before next week

How are you doing grumpy ?

Belgianchocolates · 09/07/2009 09:45

Morning all

grumpy I hope you had a good night and that your dh has realised overnight what a twat he's been.

Tummum I wore heels for the 1st time in nearly a year this weekend and it was fine.

C had a great night's sleep. Fell asleep about 10, fed at 11, 5. Woke at 8.30, but was happy, then fed her at 9 after dropping off the older 2 at school. Now she's all happy and smiley. She didn't want to be on my lap anymore earlier, was crying, so I put her on her playmat and under the baby gym and now she's happily batting away. She's definitely settling and becoming a big girl

We'll be busy here today. Tonight we're off camping. I've got to pack for everyone as DH is working on the block paving of the drive and has someone here who is helping him get started so he can do the rest on his own. I still haven't managed to catch up with the laundry from before the last weekend due to the broken dryer, but I've got to do some as I need some stuff for the trip + the dcs need at least 1 set of clean and ironed uniform for monday. I've also got C's 8 week check today. I'm not sure how I'll fit everything in today by 3 o'clock I'm sure I'll manage somehow. I always do.
