June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

I have bids o all my current listings. Need to find more stuff to sell...

Sputnik · 14/07/2009 16:48

Ria, I bet that's how Richard Branson got started, go for it!

5.50, not bad. I quite like the feeling of getting rid of stuff and sending it off to a new life, as well as the making money part! I felt a bit sentimental about some of the old baby toys I just sold yesterday though, in the end the same person bought most of the cloth books though and I felt happier they were going off together!

I have this pair of size 10 Monsoon silk trousers I bought when I was about 10 weeks pg with DD, I knew at the time I was deluded.

Sputnik · 14/07/2009 16:58

I meant about the water, not selling stuff on ebay.

But speaking of entrpreneurs I just listed some Oilily stuff I found second hand on the market, we'll see how it goes!

I was looking on Italian ebay earlier, people are selling those super cheap Ikea coffee tables, the ones that cost about £5, doubling the price and adding as much for postage! There must be some idiots out there.

Rialentless · 14/07/2009 17:57

DS1 is currently dosed up on ibuprofen, having a cool bath and then some calpol, then he's going to bed

Sputnik · 14/07/2009 18:05

Oh dear, has he got the flu then Ria?

Bumperslucious · 14/07/2009 18:08

Done fairy.

Urgh I feel rubbish, not sure what the problem is but it started out with an ulcer on the back of my throat and now I have white patches. It feels like I am swallowing rocks. From my limited googling it looks like my tonsils. Feeling very sorry for myself.

Sputnik · 14/07/2009 18:16

God we are dropping like flies!
Sounds like you need ABs Bumper.
Still feeling like crap here too but fever seems to have gone.

Rialentless · 14/07/2009 18:20

hope not sputnik. don't want him to miss tomorrow.
yuk bumper, sounds like tonsils

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/07/2009 18:31

Sorry for all illness, Sputnik, Bumper and anyone I've missed (sorry )

I emailed Thames Water today to ask to go visit a sewage treatment works. How exciting is my life?

LackaDAISYcal · 14/07/2009 18:37

ouch bumper; there is a really nasty throat lurgy doing the rounds. I had a bit of it last week and jammy had it a couple of weeks ago. Not tonsilitis though, even though white bits on tonsils.

There are now 5 cases of swine flu at the school and a doctor had to be called out to the school today.

Rialentless · 14/07/2009 19:00

daisy, are they closing the school then?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/07/2009 20:09

We have an unconfirmed case at Jamlet's nursery.

OP posts:
FrazzledFairyFay · 14/07/2009 20:17

for all the swine flu

LackaDAISYcal · 14/07/2009 20:51

I don't think so Ria. We got a letter home yesterday (before the cases were confirmed) with general information about hygiene etc, but no mention of school closures. They handed out the same letter at the Childrens centre (they share a bulding) but told us there were 3 cases, then DS1's friend's mum told us that her friend called and her son who is in year 3 has it and that she had to take hime to the docs after surgery closed this afternoon and that when they got there, all other four cases were there too!

I think a lot of people are keeping their children at home for the last few days though. We're undecided. The school has a text alert thing going on, so maybe we'll get a text in the morning saying don't come in? DS1 is hoping so!

TheNatty · 14/07/2009 21:52

daisy ellen has that EXACT same dress! same size and everything, she wore it to a birthday party

sorry you are all sickning.. fingers crossed we avoid any bugs for a few weeks till we are settled here!

my swaddler blanket thingy got covered in milk this morning (exploding boobs.. joy) so had to put it in wash.
cue screaming baby and panicked mummy so i went on utube and found a video of how to swaddle a baby with a normal blanket. well now i am totally converted, my god its changed my life litrally, no more whingy baby. (to be fair he is hungry alot due to the teething problems with bf)

took thomas and ellen to a toddler group today and met a few of my mummy friends down there. enjoyed showing off my little bundle.

all in all a good day, if i am bloody sore now for all the activity.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/07/2009 07:34

Morning all. Jamlet still asleep but the cat woke me up instead.

Natty, my brain obviously isn't fully functional yet - I read "took thomas and ellen to a toddler group today" and thought My God! She left Charlie at home !!! I was so relieved to get to the end of your sentence!! Of course I knew you wouldn't just leave your wee man on his own, but my fuddled brain had visions of him swaddled nicely and left home alone while you all popped out to toddler group . Well done you though on getting out Glad it went well, sorry you're a bit sore as a result though.

OK, Make & Play for us this morning, and Jamlet's eye test this afternoon. See you later

OMFG just switched beebies on and it as Our Planet - featuring spiders . Really close up shots and about how far they can jump!!!! Big staring spider eyes peering at me [eeewww] But managed to contain my horror in an effort not to infect Jamlet.

Feeling wobbly here (even before the spiders). Place is a mess and it makes me feel so on edge and miserable all at the same time. I just want to curl up and forget it all, but I know it won't just go away. But with Jamlet here it's hard to concentrate enough on clearing up Doesn't help that I was pretty shoddy at taking my ADs for the past few weeks

Rialentless · 15/07/2009 09:19

bugger, was just typing a long post and the internet turned itself off. We need a PC doctor!

Jammy I know just how you feel. I tidied the toybox out last night (to find DFs shed keys which baggins stole and lost!), but now there's so much to tidy away to elsewhere. DH has finally pulled the cooker out for me to clean behind it this morning. no energy and no enthusiasm though.

Rialentless · 15/07/2009 09:33

hope it goes well for Jamlet

HellHathNoFury · 15/07/2009 09:53

good luck with eye test.

I am knackered.
Packing hospital bag today. Am 35 weeks - is that premature? I can't be bothered if I am honest, I am exhausted today!

Plus I need to do my tax return, urg.

Jammy did you honestly freak out at spiders on TV?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/07/2009 10:02

I don't 35 weeks is too early. I had mine almost packed at 35 weeks.

I wasn't totally freaking out, but I was inwardly going "eeewww, taht is really gross." And I did feel a bit sick when I saw the (slow motion) shots of how they jump, with my brain going into overdrive imagining them leaping at me from all angles across the room . But I just sat there, watching with Jamlet, going "ooh, look at the spider, isn't that interesting." I don't think it helped me that she had been playing with the remote control and the volume was up at 66 (we normally have it on about 20 to watch TV or 24 if it's a really quiet DVD) when it came on so I got kind of thrown by the sheer volume of it.

We were about to go out when she gave an enormous eye rub and started wrapping a blanket around herself, so she is napping now. So I get to do some clearing up (oh joy!). Just need to check the forecast to see if it's indoors or out for the laundry.

I'm watching Doodle Do and checking out Corky's erm, prit stick

oh, and counting down til DS1 comes home. Hope it's not raining in Harrogate.

Bumperslucious · 15/07/2009 12:31

Where's DS1 ria? (Sorry haven't read the thread). Just got back from docs, I do have tonsilitis, bleughhhhhh.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/07/2009 12:49

Bumper

OP posts:
Rialentless · 15/07/2009 12:59

poor you bumper. hope you feel better soon.

DS1 has gone to the yorkshire show. we had to have him at school by 7am, and he should be back by 6pm (we then have a meeting about the residential trip in Sept at 7pm). My mum thinks it's hilarious how much food I put in his packed lunch, and the 2 foil-wrapped bacon butties for on the coach (if he's feeling mean or for when they arrived. It will be miserable if it's raining. I am though, I haven't been since I was his age. we might go to a small local show this year.
