June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

Tax returns suck cock

LackaDAISYcal · 15/07/2009 14:52

ouch bumper, hope it gets better soon. Rest up and drink lots of fluids...and treat yourself to ice cream.

bugger, I missed doodle do. I'm very keen to see it now after the webchat last week.
bumble is inconsolable today, DD is still asleep and I need to leave in 10 mins for school, and DS1 hates me because I made him go to school this morning inspite of swine flu risk "Do you want me to DIE mum?"

School has confirmed 1 case in year 3 and 3 suspected in the nursery. I got a text saying another letter was coming out tonight; maybe they will shut up shop early for the summer?

right, off to school we go.

Bumperslucious · 15/07/2009 15:20

Oh dear that wouldn't be good daisy (school closing early not swine flu!).

Bad news, DD is sick. DH is bringing her home from his mum's. I know I should be sympathetic but it always happens when I am fricking sick. And if she is sick tomorrow she won't be able to go to nursery on Friday. I was so looking forwarded to it - I booked the day off work!

HellHathNoFury · 15/07/2009 15:48

Poor DD Bumper, what's wrong with her?

DS managed to get HFM when I booked days off work, always the way isn't it.

Poor buggers.

I just did my tax return and owe £1500. Awesome.

On the plus side, I have almost packed my hospital bag. I swear I am forgetting something though.

HellHathNoFury · 15/07/2009 16:17

Right well I'm off, see you later y'all

Rialentless · 15/07/2009 16:35

there is a rumour a litle girl in the village has swine flu, but she doesn't go to our school. Don't think shools should clse early here - not when they're having 7 weeks off anyway.

poor DD bumper (and poor you if you miss your day off)

how come even when DH doesn't have a proper job, he's still 2 hours late when we have a meeting at school? The place he's working the bar asked him to make some puddings today!

Our PC says we have a trojan - any ideas techhy folks?

Sputnik · 15/07/2009 16:49

It's a virus, basically Ria. What does your PC say to do about it?

FrazzledFairyFay · 15/07/2009 17:50

Agh, I think I'm going to have to do a reading at the weding we're going to on Friday. The partner of the girl who's supposed to be doing it has Swine Flu.

The friend still wants to come but there are loads of high risk people going - elderly, serious asthmatic, 6 month old babies, pg ladies, etc so the bride thinks she's going to have to ask her not to come. What would you do?

I have to say, I think the friend is being a bit selfish - Today she's been constantly texting the bride with quotes from internet, etc saying that she's fine to go. the bride is very, very stressed. AIBU?

LackaDAISYcal · 15/07/2009 20:27

I think she should stay away and stop stressing the poor bride about it. Can you have a quiet word?

My fecking children are up to their tricks again. I have just lost it with DD and smacked her leg; she was throwing toys across the room at bumble and got him screaming so I think something must have hit his cot and frightened him. I have been up to her every five minutes since she went to bed at 7.

And of course DH is bloody fishing again. He does bedtimes and I think he must be rushing it that much when he is going fishing to get out quicker, meaning that they don't settle as they must pick up on his "gotta get out of here vibe". I just called him and ranted at him for five minutes. I also told him that if he comes home with another nasty bite and cellulitis again then I have no fucking sympathy for him. He has been poo pooing the nappy advisor stuff I want to do as well, but fuck him I'm doing it. Ooooh, I'm soooo bloody cross. and at taking it out on DD.

He said I can go out whenever I want...but where? he repeatedly tells me we have no money, so what can I do that involves not spending any money? fuck all. Sitting beside a mozzie infested hole might be his idea of a cheap night out, but it certainly isn't mine.....

sorry....needed a rant

bumble is asleep on the floor at my feet! DD is still awake.

FrazzledFairyFay · 15/07/2009 20:42

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr to Mr Daisy. Sounds nreasonable to me. Could you get a bottle of wine one night and go round to a friends' house, or invite someone round to yours - not as good as a night out, but a change of scenery. Or otherwise, how about the cinema - not free, but a cheap night out.

I hope the kids settle

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/07/2009 20:42

Arse. Remote access to my work is buggered so I can't do my work. But it does mean I can do my own stuff on the 'puter!

Jamlet is the tiniest bit long sighted apparently, but not enough to prescribe glasses at this stage. But they are concerned about her eye turning in so will see us again in 3-4 months time. She was very good, but our appointment time was totally out of synch with the buses so it ended up as a 5 hour round trip

OP posts:
FrazzledFairyFay · 15/07/2009 20:45

to 5 hours. I'm glad things are ok, but good that they're keeping an eye on her (no pun intended)

LackaDAISYcal · 15/07/2009 20:55

bloody hell jammy, a five hour round trip

jamlet must have the patience of a saint! Good that things aren't too bad for her and fingers crossed things stay that way.

boo hisss to your tax bill fury!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/07/2009 21:43

Boo hiss to tax bills and fishermen!

I couldn't quite believe it was 5 hours either. An hour or so travel each way (bus plus 20 min walk), 45 mins to kill between getting off bus and hospital appointment, an hour at the hospital, and another hour to kill before getting bus home - had just missed one, grrr . We went to the park in the first bit of time to kill, and we got Jamlet something to eat in the second bit. All in all she was a star!

OP posts:
TheNatty · 15/07/2009 21:45

evening all!

5 hours jammy bloody hell

good day here, went to a baby cafe to a breastfeeding clinic to have little man checked over.
his latch is 'perfect' he has no tounge tie, or any other problems.
she had no idea why i have been suffering with cracked nips, but she says thats its prob down to the fact i have very sensitive dry skin and that my nipples are made of that skin so more prone to drying out and cracking. spose there is logic in that.

sore boob has healed enough to feed from normally no more 5am pumping sessions!

Bumperslucious · 15/07/2009 21:48

Hello all

Don't know what is wrong with DD, she was sick twice. That's the third sickness bug in as many months. Should I be worried?

Glad your boob is getting better Natty, hope you are doing ok.

Daisy, sorry DH is being a PITA. Hope you get a break soon.

Ria, how did DS get on on his trip?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/07/2009 22:08

Hi Natty!

Um, will you home on Monday morning? There might be something being delivered to you so I need to know you'll be in!

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/07/2009 22:10

Hi Bumper.

Sorry to hear DD is poorly again. Real bummer that it's when you are porrly too If I can help, let me know!

OP posts:
Rialentless · 15/07/2009 22:17

fecking computer. the trojan messages have gone, but now it just shuts down when it feels like it (sorry to post and run earllier sputnik)

Rialentless · 15/07/2009 22:21

yay for jamlet being a star for 5 hours, and for natty's BF.

hope swine flu doesn't spoil the wedding fairy, and that the GF sees sense and stays away.

for DD bumper.

arse to your DH daisy. I'm with you on no sympathy if he gets stung/bitten. can't think of a free night out for you though. could you sign up to a caft class or something in September?

TheNatty · 15/07/2009 22:23

i agree daisy there must be something you can do. my DH says the same to me all the time, but i can never think of anything cheap/free. let me know if u think of something

Rialentless · 15/07/2009 22:33

local council run adult learning things are usually fairly cheap/free on benefits. Though the ones I've been on (one at the childrens centre and a couple through the primary school) have been delivered as if the peope attending have no concept of "knowledge" (I know that is a BAD thing to say, and I'm sure childrens centres are lovely - are they all frequented by mainly childminers and their charges and hardly any parents? -, but just because I am a SAHM to 3 I am not an idiot - escept when I choose to be).Sorry. I think I had a bad experience.

My DH is in York until Friday. He got offered some shifts in a hotel there through his agency, and as it's easy work (he's been to this hotel before) he decided to take the cut in benefit and go. He did chooseto go straight after the meeting at school and leave it to me to tell the kids where he's gone

DS1 had a great time thanks bumper (I need a PFB slap). It didn't rain much either. He didn't eat all his food but he did spend all his money!
The meeting about his trip was excellent. I am I want to go too!

Bumperslucious · 15/07/2009 22:41

Is it a residential Ria? Scary stuff! Where's he going?

Thanks for all the sympathy, I'm off to bed, hopefully I can get a proper nights sleep for the first time this week.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/07/2009 22:43

Arse! I ideally want a strapless bra to wear with this dress. M&S didn't have one in my size on Saturday, so I came home and ordered one online. While I was ordering that I added some tights to the basket. Yesterday had an email saying the order was dispatched , but didn't read the actual email at the time, so didn't notice it was only the tights. Today got an email telling me the bra is no longer available, so I've ended up paying £2.34 delivery charge and all for a pair of tights

OP posts:
Rialentless · 15/07/2009 22:47

here bumper. I went when I was at scool and it was fab. I want to go again. I really fancy doing something a bit different that doesn't involve fretting about the kids/house/DH/work etc. The teacher's enthusiasm was catching too. DH has been invited (as a governor) to go onthe primary school trip to one of the other centres on that link. Maybe when baggins is older I will try and get invoved in volunteering at something like that, I'm sure I could swing a trip with the primary school too - not on the same one as DH though

hope you get some sleep.

DH has finally texted to say he's arrived safe (not that he said that, just that he's got a nice double bed to himself) so I think I'll go to bed too, tomorrow will be another long day.
