I'm pretty sure that for weighting and balance the little kid is supposed to go in the rear seat and the bigger one in the front of a P&T.

nkweto · 21/06/2009 15:00

thank you...i now have visions of me attempting to move a completely unbalanced buggy on and off buses !!!

dinkystinky · 21/06/2009 16:02

You can relax Swampster - am still stuck in north west london with teething babe - is just the original dinkystinky and his dad down in your neck of the woods this afternoon.

Nkweto - sending you huge hugs. Hope your headache (and yours too Pink) passes soon. If you're looking for a temporary nanny to do the nursery drop and pick up, might it be worth expanding your search to someone who drives with clean licence also? May relieve some of your concerns about the public transport route to nursery. Am really hoping the whole work/home/childcare trauma gets resolved quickly for you guys.

Danny slept for 2 and a half hours and is a much happier little fellow now. He goes into his own room tonight so here's praying for a slightly better night's sleep all round...

Can't remember how old yours are but are they ready for a buggy board?? I'm about to ditch the P&T tbh as DS will tend to go on his scooter but sometimes needs a ride if he's tired. I can't face the P&T's on the bus when I go back to work.

Dinky - glad Danny seems to be in better spirits after his mammoth snoozer. DD's been unusually cranky this pm too. She's pooing lots, fingers in her mouth and suddenly bursts into very upset tears.

nkweto hope the head feels better soon

It's my birthday tomorrow - the last of my 30's . Going out to lunch with my Mum as DS is at nursery and DH is at work .....

dinkystinky · 21/06/2009 20:32

Happy birthday for tomorrow Herbgarden - hope you have a lovely day and a great lunch with your mum. We have a buggy board which we used with DS1 on Friday at the food festival - he was fine on it (and really quite liked the high vantage point) but was most put out that Danny was in the buggy when he wanted a snooze (not an issue for you if your DS doesnt have daytime sleeps) so had to sling Danny then and stick DS1 in the buggy. The only thing I'd say about it is that it takes a bit of getting used to - I was kicking the board loads to start off with until I figured out how to adjust my gait.

MS Hope dd is ok now.
herb Luke is sucking everything too

Dinner's here, will be back later.

herbgarden · 21/06/2009 20:50

Yep - I've heard that you get lots of bruises on the shins whilst you get used to it - a friend had one the other day when she came to visit so he got on and had a ride. DS doesn't tend to snooze in the day anymore (not officially anyway) and seems to have got used to DD perhaps having the buggy to herself now. I always take the sling too just in case we get meltdown !

LBB DD is like a rabid dog !!....just manically pulling everything she can to her mouth and chomping. Not great if she gets your finger as her new bottom teeth are very sharp !

herbgarden · 21/06/2009 20:52

PS am very peed off....DH bought me tickets to Take That for a couple of weeks time at Wembley as a xmas pressie. We hadn't got the tickets yet so tried to contact the company tonight but it seems from a search of the web that the company who he bought them from are bogus and have been shut down. Luckily he paid for them on a credit card but I'd rather be going thanks very much and

dinkystinky · 21/06/2009 21:05

What a PITA Herb! Glad you'll get your money back at least but that is terrible luck...

Danny is also gnawing everything in sight... except teething rings

evening all,
very busy day today at Chessington and just got DD out of bath and DS fed. Hopefully they will both be asleep soon. Insha'allah (god willing!)

herby, happy birthday for tomorrow but sorry about your take that tickets. What a bummer

nkweto hope you feel better soon.

Swampy thanks for that. Had wondered where you'd been as you haven't been around for a while.

so who has a P & T and isn't that impressed? Have been bidding for a few on ebay the last few days and keep getting outbid but am wondering whether they are the best option? Am hating the stupid folding double buggy I have at the moment.

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/06/2009 21:39

I have a P&T mos and I love it... Can someone just confirm when the meet up is please!!! MOS can we still meet at victoria....

Cocodrillo · 21/06/2009 21:46

I love our Phil and Ted's MOS, bit heavy is the only downside.

Re buggy boards, I used one with the Maclaren when DD2 was in it, and DD1 would be on the buggy board, and she loved it (aged 3). DD2 though refuses to stay on the buggy board when DS is in the Bugaboo, and is just a right royal PITA, so it's been retired until she becomes more rational (tell me she will?). She's coming up to 2.5 and v headstrong so possibly too young and/or too bolshy.

Herb, I had a similar experience with Mika tickets last year. I am still pissed off that I didn't get to go. Rest assured, you will def get your money back if you paid by CC.

Have been listing kids clothes on ebay all evening. Hope people buy them after all that. And not for 50p either.

herbgarden · 21/06/2009 21:46

I loved the P&T's MOS when DD was really little and she was in the cocoon underneath DS in the winter all warm and cosy and DS was getting used to "sharing" a buggy with his new sister. DS is 3 next month and although he isn't quite yet to give up the buggy I'm not sure I want to push DD around in the back bit (she's out of the cocoon) whilst DS gets in and out in between wanting to walk - its quite heavy to manoeuvre over the Maclaren with a buggy board. I'm also hoping that having the half way house ie the Maclaren and BB he might get more used to walking around a bit more.....

The only good thing with the P&T is that if it's still in good condition you'll easily sell it on e-bay and I really couldn't have done without it the first few months. I'd sell you mine but my sister will hopefully have kids sometime soon and it's my brothers (been through about 3 families before us !) so I'm hanging on to it a bit longer...

I think it really depends on the stage that you're DD is at walking wise. Would she cope with a buggy board do you think ?

My garage is like a buggy park at the moment, I've got the Mamas and Papas Pramette, the Maclaren and the P&T's - there is no room for the car in there....DH can't wait to get shot of one of them.

herbgarden · 21/06/2009 21:53

Cocodrillo - DS is very headstrong and has been all along worsening around 2.3 months and some days still bad but the tantrums !....he'll do things like throw a strop because you've helped him put his clothes on and will actually take them off and do it all again because he wants to do it "ON MY OWN!". That's his favourite expression - we have to get in and out of the car seat on our own, shoes on on our own....don't get me wrong it's good he's trying to be independent but a PITA when you're in a hurry and have another one to deal with . He threw a strop at teatime because I wouldn't let him have raspberries and ice-cream with jelly too....I could give in but I just refuse - I do pick my battles though but get fed up of the constant demand/whinge/yell (him) , refuse/yell back (me), cry(him), reason in firm horrid mummy voice (me), put on worst upset "you're a mean mummy face" (him) - repeat umpteen times a day and you see my life. DD meanwhile just chuckles to herself like a mad woman in the background whilst sucking madly on anything passing her hands

mumoverseas · 21/06/2009 22:04

bumps thats fine, where are you coming from? I'm just hoping I can get all organised on time to get there. Seems to be a major military operation getting out of the house at the moment. Hadn't been on the train for years until yesterday going to Brighton. Am hoping DD will behave as it will be a new experience

can't trust her on a buggy board, she will do a runner. Am thinking of putting DS in pouch and and DD in her old pink buggy for journey up to London. Hopefully will be easier on train.

currently in the lead with my current P & T bid....

swampster · 21/06/2009 22:05

I love my P&T. It is five years old now. I tried out a friend's new one last summer and my God, they have evolved! Much lighter, less clunky, easier to push...

mumoverseas · 21/06/2009 22:08

daft thing is, I swore blind I'd never get one. Most of my friends in KSA have them and I've always said I'd never get one. They are silly money out there (not helped by exchange rate) when DH and I looked at them in mothercare in Saudi his only comment was 'fuck me, my first car cost less than that'! that was the end of subject until he tried pushing the stupid bloody double umbrella fold one I have here. Like a tescos trolley with dodgy wheels

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/06/2009 22:09

I am coming from Kent MOS (Is it tuesday or wednesday? ) I will have my p&t with me as Owen wont sleep in the sling...

You could try it while we are there.. I love it.

mumoverseas · 21/06/2009 22:12

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/06/2009 22:30

I am not far from Bluewater. I live just outside Maidstone!!

mumoverseas · 21/06/2009 22:38

I love BW. Hoping to go next week when DS back from KSA so he can help with crowd control.

Do trains from there go into Victoria then?

bumpsnowjustplump · 22/06/2009 07:28

No not to BW. I think you would need to get a train from CX then bus.

crap night here. DS has been up all night. I dont knw what is wrong with him. He is not sleeping during the day!!!! He is also not feeding well and being really sick again. I havejust given him a small bit of calpol because he has a bit of a temp!!! I think he is teething!!!! I really need sleep!!!!
