ds1 is at playschool with dd

aaron is asleep in his cot since before i dropped them off and dp is having a lie in.... i'm all alone.

[tmbleweed]

not sure what to do with myself

bought dd's school uniform yesterday my baby's is all grown up

i'm mean in the buggy department, i got ds1 a seat to go and told him tough luck, you walk or you sit on that but the buggy is or the baby although, i never really use the buggy anyway tbh, shops in this part of the worls aren't buggy friendly for the most part so it's easier not to bother.

littleboyblue · 22/06/2009 13:12

Afternoon all.
I just want to talk feeding again for a minute, if Luke was grumpy for any other reason other than hunger, he wouldn't take the bottle would he?

swampster · 22/06/2009 13:42

I think he probably would - babies find sucking very comforting. With mine I've always found that, while it might not be the problem, a feed is almost always the solution.

elkiedee · 22/06/2009 14:09

I don't think my ds1 ever said no to a bottle, in fact at 2 he still sees milk as a comfort thing. I think being cuddled and sucking are both really comforting. It would probably also help with some of the other grumpiness causes eg if he's teething.

mumoverseas · 22/06/2009 14:10

no idea. H is my 4th (and last) and I still don't understand babies.

H has been sqwarking all morning, seems to be constantly starving and don't think he is getting enough from b/f. He has just scoffed 3/4 of a jar of organic creamed porridge (smells like its already been eaten once) and he is still hungry. I think? He is chomping away on boob again whilst I type one handed

PinkTulips · 22/06/2009 15:37

dd and ds1 would always take a feed, even if they weren't hungry as they were suck monstors. aaron is the only one who'll shout at me if i offer boob and it's something else annoying him.

dinkystinky · 22/06/2009 16:26

Afternoon all. MoS - sounds like H is having a major growth spurt. Hope it settles down for you soon. Glad you had a good time at Chessington.

Bumps - sorry O is unwell again. Hope he gets better - or at least into a better mood - soon and lets you get some sleep.

LBB - most babies will take milk if its offered, even if they're not hungry. Then often return it to you - in Danny's case generally over my trousers - later if they dont really want it

Those of you coming to the meet up (as LBB said its Wednesday at 11am) - if you're on the FB page pop on there to swap mobile nos. MamaGoose is in London (she's locked herself out of MN somehow) and is hoping to join us.

Thanks girls. Ds1 never turned milk down either, and Luke does it a fair bit.
I think I'm probably a bit too paranoid about over-feeding, but like you all say, it'd at least calm him of any other issues for a while.
mos Glad I'm not the only one that still doesn't have a clue about babies

Really looking forward to Wednesday, not the journey mind you. For those of you I've not met before, I'll be the one sipping from a hip-flask and looking like she's gonna have a nervous breakdown!! hahaha. Will have both boys with me.........joys.

mumoverseas · 22/06/2009 20:20

Can't get on facebook at the moment but hopefully I'll find you lot. I'll be the one WITHOUT a P & T's as just been outbid again! Can't believe a second hand E3 went for £295!

bumpsnowjustplump · 22/06/2009 21:34

MOS what time shall we meet at victoria on Wednesday. I will be the one with a red P&T, a stressed look, two beautiful children (one wearing big girls pants) but covered in sick!!!

mumoverseas · 22/06/2009 21:38

damm you bumps, I'll be the one without the RED P & T and with two nasty little children who have been playing up terribly because daddy is away (in fact we are away and daddy is at home )
Can we please postpone the meet up until later in the week as i've just got pissed off with being outbid and have ordered a shiny new (red) P & T's from Mothercare as they had 17% of red sports and it was actually cheaper than some of the second hand ones on ebay!!!! I want to be able to show it off

bumps, how long do you think it will take to get to coram fields from Victoria? Are we risking the tube?

bumpsnowjustplump · 22/06/2009 21:51

I have no idea where Coram fields is!!!! I was hoping you did !!! On the tube we would need to change at green park can anyone let us know if there is a lift at green park because i will not be able to do stairs with the p&t...

bumpsnowjustplump · 22/06/2009 21:52

oh and mos they are beautiful in my eyes but still little buggers.. DS doesnt stop screaming at the moment, you will hear him before you see him thats for sure!!

mumoverseas · 22/06/2009 21:55

I did google it earlier bumps and it is near Russell square. To be honest, I was thinking of grabbing a cab as I hate the tube.
Battery dying on laptop so will catch up tomorrow. Will try to get on FB or else let you have my mobile number on here and hope there are no stalkers around

bumpsnowjustplump · 22/06/2009 22:04

Speak to you tomorrow then...

nkweto · 22/06/2009 22:33

just been on fb.. is the meeting on Wednesday NOT tomorrow ? I am officially losing it ... but works well as the children start settling in at the nursery tomorrow !!

Got a nursery all sorted today, great ofsted report, lovely grounds..nice staff albeit I suspect they think I am slightly bonkers..

looking forward to seeing you all..

elkiedee · 22/06/2009 23:02

Russell Square is nearest tube to Coram's Fields but if you're coming from Victoria Kings Cross is on the Victoria line and not that much further - I'll be getting the bus in and walking from there. The 73 bus goes from Victoria to Russell Square - the closest bus stop would be very near the tube station on Southampton Row, then walk along Guilford Street and keep going.

littleboyblue · 23/06/2009 07:29

bumps This is why I'm coming in at Waterloo and getting bus from there, because of stairs. I have a double and hoping they'll let me on the bus.
Last time, I got off at Russell Square and walked down the high street.

bumpsnowjustplump · 23/06/2009 09:14

DS is still not sleeping I just dont know what to do about it. He sleeps 20 mins in the day and about 4 hours at night max.. It is killing me so christ knows how he is coping... He should be sleeping loads at his age so dont know what is going on... It is karma coming back at me and bitting me on the bum because I used to gloat that Jessica went through from 7 weeks..... (Karma is a bitch by the way)

I have the joys of music tots today will have to sling ds as he will not be put down for that long. DD just asked if we could leave ds here

elkiedee · 23/06/2009 10:34

I think buses from Waterloo and Victoria stop in much the same place. The 73 from Victoria is a bendy bus, can be a bit of a nightmare but it starts at Victoria which is a real plus I think. But I think buses start at Waterloo too. Waterloo's also a bit closer I think, just across the bridge from Holborn and then you're not very far from Russell Square/Coram's Fields.

Cocodrillo · 23/06/2009 11:32

Ds is not himself today. He had his 2nd lot of jabs yesterday. Is crying and crying. Is this normal? Calpol him? Reaction to injections? Don't know what to do with him, or me!

littleboyblue · 23/06/2009 11:51

bumps So sorry it's still a bit rough there. Some babies just don't need alot of sleep, Jacob never slept during the day really, I had to 'train' him too and he needed alot of help to get there, rocking him to sleep after every feed. Luke isn't much better, but I've started working with him now, and it's going ok, we can now leave him to settle himself.
coco I'd give some calpol and if no improvement, call the clinic nurse and get advice from her.

mumoverseas · 23/06/2009 16:04

bumps what time do you think you'll get to Victoria tomorrow? Need to check train times here. Can't decide whether to take hideous double buggy (side by side) or DS in a sling and DD in buggy. aagghh!

littleboyblue · 23/06/2009 16:08

Hmm mos I'd prob go for sling and single pushchair, especially if unsure of journey/times.
Then again, it's going to be quite hot again tomorrow, do you want a baby strapped to you while sweating on the train?

I have a carrier, but I hate using it. I have a one in front of the other double, so will be lugging that.

I bought some hand puppets today. A pig and a duck (named Perry and Duncan), both ds's have been really laughing. Luke likes the pig, it tastes nice, apparently........

mumoverseas · 23/06/2009 16:12

thats what DH said LBB but then what if/when H needs to sleep in the day? DD's buggy doesn't recline?
Bugger why am I incapable of making the smallest decision now?
