LOL at some of the swearing posts

Just got back from meeting some real people from MN. Went down to Brighton to meet some of the Brighton MNers and they are really nice real people. was so weird putting names to faces. Had a lovely few hours down there having a meal and wine and no talk of baby poo

Not looking forward to fathers day tomorrow as dc's daddy not here and don't think I'm up to visiting dads grave this year. All too raw at the moment so think I'll take dcs 2,3 & 4 to chessington

nkweto · 20/06/2009 20:58

(((( MOS )))) just thought I would de-lurk to give you a big virtual hug..

... we are ok here.. now our new place has fallen through though.. so when i go back to work we will have to commute 40 mins in the WRONG direction to drop of the children.. booooooooo

hi to.. v.funny about swearing.. DS is repeating everything at the moment so waiting for the first swear word!

SweetTalkinWoman · 20/06/2009 20:58

Have fun at Chessington MOS! I am a bike widow in the morning if you fancied popping in for a coffee?

We've been up in the West End today - Sam had to have some blood taken for his allergy testing. They took 6 tubes of my little man's blood and he screamed and screamed . All in all though a good day, although have been puked on loads - yuk.

Currently watching a film (in between typing) and eating popcorn - feels good! Must sneak up to write a Father's Day card soon.

Love my new buggy! Got a Techno XT and it's great! Think it will work well with a buggy board too.

LOL at the swearing! I must admit there are a fair few phrases in this household involving the F word . Usually with a "sake" at the end.

Have tried to squeeze into an old pair of jeans today and caught sight of my reflection in a shop window - not a good look. All the cake and wine seems to be going straight to my love handles.

Better be sociable and watch film with DH. It's a Clint Eastwood one - he just growls through the whole thing and I can't understand a word.

SweetTalkinWoman · 20/06/2009 21:01

Nkweto sorry to hear about your place falling through - that's a huge amount of time to add to a commute.

MS - forgot to say have fun at Glastonbury - and good luck with the camping!

bumpsnowjustplump · 20/06/2009 21:05

Evening all. MOS hope you have a lovely time tomorrow at chessington.

LOL at some of the swearing stories. DD is repeating everything at the moment. I was nagging DP the other day and he was in the bathroom while I was in the kitchen, DD walked past me went into the bathroom and shut the door. She looked at dp and tutted and said "Oh shut up mummy for sake" DP tried to tell her that it was rude but couldn't stop laughing... Cheeky bugger...

Been a funny day here. On the plus side DD has been dry for two days and one night... No accidents at all... i am so proud of her...

On the down side she is ill and so is ds. not really bad but her rash has got worse and she says it is really itchy. i took her to boots today to check it wasn't CP (I wouldn't have a clue what it looks like) and they confirmed it isn't but gave us some cream for it..

DS has only taken one feed all day and another this evening. He has a slight temp but in general is very happy so I dont know what to make of it. I guess we will see how they both are tomorrow and go from there.

I had to go to bed early last night because I felt really ill. I though I had flu, I ached all over and had a really high temp.. I woke up this morning and my right boob was bright red and hot and hurt like hell.... I have been massaging it all day and fed ds from it both times he fed... I feel better tonight but boob is still very painful....

dinkystinky · 20/06/2009 21:07

MoS - maybe you can do a belated fathers day celebration when DH is back and go see your dad's grave then. Enjoy chessington tomorrow with the DC.

STW - poor Sam Hope the blood tests help find out what needs treating though. We are not even contemplating trying to squeeze back into skinny jeans here - the pushy mothers workout and walking and postnatal pilates I'm doing is having no effect whatsoever on my abs (or lack thereof) at present - will be in my fat clothes and tent tops for a while yet I suspect.

Nkweto - sorry to hear your new place has fallen through. Hopefully you'll find an even lovelier place to rent soon though which will mean the 40 minute commute in the wrong direction isnt for too long.

Right, Meet Up on Wednesday next week - Coram's Fields at 11am suit? Meet at the cafe area (same as last time) which as you go in the gate is in the far right hand corner.

Bumps - xpost. Hope the kids get better soon. Re your boob - sounds like mastitis (particularly if DS isnt feeding as he would usually). Try expressing milk out, hot showers/baths and combing the boob to work out the blockages in the milk ducts. Take paracetemol to get your temperature under control. Good luck - hope you feel better soon.

Hello all
Going to be nice weather at Glastonbury next week so may need suncream rather than wellies .

I stopped swearing so much when I left my old firm (Dinky do you not think that they swear a lot at work ?) - my new firm seems a bit more virtuous on the swearing front so I washed my mouth out a bit and now use "flippin'" a lot....I have caught DS using "bloody" which my mum uses (naughty granny) - although yesterday he called me "jellyguts" which apparently he learnt off Charlie and Lola. Charming.

We've had a lovely day today. DH family get together once a year with Aunties and cousins = they're all near Bournemouth (hour and quarter drive) and as we weren't due til lunchtime we got to Christchurch area at about 10ish - fed DD on the beach on a rug with a cup of coffee and a toasted teacake with DS making sandcastle and chucking stones in the sea. It was a lovely start to the day. I want to move to the seaside.

Family day went well everyone being sweet about DD and DS was fully occupied by DH's cousins kids of a similar age. Mil and SIL are not getting on at the moment so that was a tad difficult but they're both annoying me so I'm keeping out of it.....

About to head off to bed. Am knackered

herbgarden · 20/06/2009 21:14

I'm not off to Glastonbury of course....just being helpful to MS

dinkystinky · 20/06/2009 21:30

Sounds like a lovely day Herbgarden - its lovely by the sea when you have great weather but when the fog/mist and rain is setting in, another thing entirely (I speak from much experience of grotty weather at MiL's place ) And yes, they do swear a lot at my workplace - though dont really have much of a point of reference as is still the only law firm have ever worked at. Suspect may be time to move on...

Loving the irons and the swearing - and the ebabying - hey, we're all tempted, we just don't act on it .

We have a Maclaren Techno which has lasted us 5 yrs through 2 and a bit DCs, and can be used with a buggy board, so I would recommend. Very portable, easily foldable etc etc.

Just watched Yes Man, v funny, mindless guff. Terence Stamp is still cool.

I went to a power walking class this morning, first exercises post-DS, I am in AGONY when I get up off the sofa this evening. How unfit am I? Also convinced a fellow power walker thought I was pregant - she was being very solicitous - bit gutted, but realistically I do look about 4/5 months pregnant! DH just looked sympathetic so it must be true.

The DDs have been pushing it today, testing boundaries maybe? Jealous of DS? DH and I are besotted with him, as he is at that lovely uncomplicated cooing and giggling stage, before he turns into a person with unreasonable opinions and annoying habits like the other two.

Nkweto that is such an arse, you must be so pissed off. When do you go back to work? London is so crap in that respect, it takes so long to get anywhere - I sometimes wonder why we live here.

littleboyblue · 20/06/2009 23:11

PT That's what I'm thinking, to just completely ignore it if he ever does manage the f-word so opefully he doesn't see it as forbidden iyswim? Might change my mind if he yells it in the middle of the library though, and the little mite will probably save it for an especially embarrassing situation
dinky rofl here at your sister stuck under the table! How funny.
MS Very sweet of dd to take pic of Frank. I'm sure she's fine and having a wonderful time, hopefully she hasn't given all of you a second thought
STW I have an extra bit around my midsection, I find boobs out helps a bit
Hope you having nice evening. Dp is watching some war film [eye rolling emoticon]
bumps Hope you all feel better tomorrow. Sounds awful
dinky 11am on weds sounds good. I'll have both of my rat-bags with me which will be interesting.......might have to bring my hip-flask too
coco You should read the book (the yes man) was sooooooo funny. I was actually laughing out loud to myself whilst reading it on buses! Not seen the film yet, but want to.

Had a nice day at the in-laws. Dp's dad introduced me to someone as Ashley's wife, and then said he'd forgotten my name!!!! Both boys were a bit, ok very ratty for a while from tiredness, thankfully they both asleep now, but I predict they will be up at the crack of dawn!

littleboyblue · 20/06/2009 23:13

Erm, just read back my last post, when I say boobs out, I don't mean boobs out I mean shoulders back boobs out

swampster · 20/06/2009 23:24

boobs

Cocodrillo · 21/06/2009 08:12

LBB I thought you meant boobs out to distract dh/dp from the flobby bits.

littleboyblue · 21/06/2009 08:23

coco No, not too concerned with what dp thinks of my extra bits, it's more when I'm walking down the street and feel fat and gross tbh. Dp says it doesn't matter what I look like, he can be lovely when he wants to be

MarkStretch · 21/06/2009 08:37

Sleepover was a disaster. I had to collect her at 11pm. She has woken up FURIOUS.

Gawd help me today.

herbgarden · 21/06/2009 10:20

Oh dear DD can roll onto her front but not back again.....I found her sucking our disgusting bathroom carpet when I nipped back into the bedroom after leaving her on the floor.

She's sucking everything at the moment and although has her first two front teeth I wonder whether she might be teething???....

Morning all by the way and Happy Fathers Day !

Cocodrillo · 21/06/2009 11:03

i am quite self-conscious about my fat bits. don't think the boobs would work as a distraction too well at the mo. he's seen enough of them to last a lifetime while i was bfing. scuse typing. toddler on knee.

soory the sleepover wasn't a success MS

dinkystinky · 21/06/2009 12:54

Oh no Markstretch - sorry the sleepover was a bust. Hope DD cheers up soon!

Coco - sorry you're all stiff but that powerwalking will get easier and you'll get less stiff over time. One of my friends whose daughter was born the day after DS1 bumped into an ex of hers when her DD was 5 months old - he congratulated her on her pregnancy and asked if she was near to her due date! She had to politely point out she had already had the baby - she was in the buggy she was pushing. She joined pushy mothers the following week

LBB - hope the boys arent too cranky after their long day and hopefully not too short night.

Danny is teething, has a cold and a temperature and is FURIOUS today. I have just put him down for a nap as trying to do anything else with him is a total bust. DH and DS1 are going to head out to south london for a friend's DCs' birthday party. Am keeping my fingers crossed the incredible sulk has a good sleep and wakes up in a much better mood or else its going to be a very long afternoon at home for me...

nkweto · 21/06/2009 14:26

hi, thanks all for the sympathy.. feeling very sorry for myself today bad headache (can't say migraine because that means i must switch off the computer !!)... we are now thinking stay where we are for at least July and get temp. nanny to do drop off /pick ups..but she would need to be REALLY responsible as it is a real main road journey on public transport...

MS.. ooh so sorry about bad sleep over

herbgarden.. i did think you were going to glastonbury too ! I was getting quite jealous of you all

coco.. my niece is STILL asking me if I have another baby in my tummy! and yes... really dont want to be living in london at the moment..i have one week of maternity leave left and my husband is away for a conference for a week mid july.. i am fucked.. if i survive the next 3 months.. all will be great

bumps.. i hope you boob is feeling better, and I am a little late.. but big wave to littlesez.. glad to hear all is still great in your world!!

Tuesday 11 am is still good for me.. DH did suggest that I could do nanny/house hunting on that day as well but the suggestion was given very short shrift

swampster · 21/06/2009 14:35

Sorry about your non-move, nkweto. we are thinking of moving again, now we are five. Not sure if I can bear it.

MOS, you've been on my mind lots. I am so sorry about your Mum .

Wondering whether I can handle the meet-up with two and make it back in time for school pick-up...

elkiedee · 21/06/2009 14:37

Grrr

Had just composed an attempt at a catch up post when ds1 jumped on to my chair and shut down Opera (the internet browser I mumsnet in).

He's also having a tantrum at the prospect of going out with Conor sharing the double buggy (a second-hand Phil and Teds E3 - it works much the same way as the Sport but is a little bit older).

MS, hope you have a great time at Glastonbury. There was a thread about taking babies there a few weeks ago, it sounds like there'll be quite a lot of MNers there with young children, babies and/or bumps.

Dinky, hope your Danny makes a quick recovery in good time for Wednesday, and also so you're not stuck in with him for too long.

Comforted to know I don't have the only foul mouthed toddler here.

nkweto · 21/06/2009 14:40

elkiedee.. we have the same problem with the P&T... DS is refusing point blank to go in the under toddler chair and DD is getting to big for the 'baby position' lying down underneath him !
