omg, I didn't mean to post again straight away but did you notice the number of posts? any ideas for titles? it will take me a few hours to think up a creative one so, please, others be welcome!

now that we're on one thread again, it seems to have gone quickly in the past few days. or is it just me ?

hi everyone.

Gosh, it's been a busy day on here today. I was out all day today running a variety of errands. I popped into work too to show off C. Some of my favourite colleagues happened to be on, so that was good.

Also bought a few scarves as I've found that using a nice scarf is the way forward to bf a summer baby. The other 2 were winter babes and I always wore big jumpers that covered me up OK. I found that summery T-shirts just dont work as well.

good idea re the name checking tummum That sounds really scary. I had a similar encounter with a bus in a narrow street today.

emmab It's great that your HV has been so supportive and that the thrush has been picked up. It can make babies feel miserable. My dd1 was the same with refusing bottles. I tried every single type on the market at the time. The closer to nature ones didn't exist yet at the time. I've got http://www.breastflow.co.uk/ these at home. I haven't used them yet, but babies are supposed to use the same technique as at the breast to feed from these, so they might work for S.

I've searched for a big scream cinema in B'ham and the nearest I can find is Dudley, which is quite far away. I can't believe a big city like this doesn't do anything like it!

Oh and I also hate Lellie Kelly shoe ads and the shoes themselves. DD1 wants a pair, but I've told here that there's no way she'll wear a pair of those hideous sequined things

Anyway. Dinnertime now. We're running a bit late today thanks to my errant running day.

Belgianchocolates · 11/06/2009 18:28

Hey, my link didn't work. That normally doesn't happen to me, I'm a computer wizz normally . Try again Breastflow bottle for Emmab

llareggub · 11/06/2009 18:42

Belgian they do a mother and baby showing at the cinema in Stratford if you fancy a trip my way one of these days. It is very small; nothing fancy and I think it is on a Wednesday morning.

Tummum I think you deserve one of our famous cocktails, you poor thing.

I've had a really busy week and I am getting far more confident at getting out and about with two children. We had our 6 week check today and George is 10 pounds 2. The GP and I agreed that there is no need to get his tongue tie snipped as it doesn't cause him any problems. We are going to review at around 9 months to assess whether there are any potential speech problems and if so he'll be snipped then.

I hope everyone is well and not too tired.

Febes · 11/06/2009 19:50

I went to a little screamers session at the moie theatre in Wimbledon for those in SW London I know that Clapham does one too- Odeon I think. I saw Juno

Belgianchocolates · 11/06/2009 20:04

I saw there was one in stratfort, llare. I think I might struggle to get to Stratfort in time for a morning showing though. I've got to drop off the dcs at school 1st and then usually sort C (i.e. feed & dress) afterwards.

Reggiee · 11/06/2009 20:15

Momino I too may be interested in the 1st July screening....

(Hello everyone else)

Just a quick mention for EMMA - you are doing a FAB job, and as all the wise people here say, it does get easier .

FiKelly · 11/06/2009 20:29

spangle grace is being a milk monster today so not much chance for me to post links...

here's one with loads of free knit and crochet patterns to start you off...

drops design studio

g crying again and desperate for loo so off again for now

Momino · 11/06/2009 20:37

oh, phew. for some reason I thought we were only 10 posts away from new thread but it was 90.

how long do you let your child cry? Harper is just waah-ing with breaks in between which sounds like she's trying tosettle herself and I've let her do that for about 15 min. she's quiet now.

Ooh, I'm glad some of you want to go to the july 1st Big Scream. it could be the meet up we never had antenatally. I also know of a breast-feeding welcome cafe (in an old church) for afterwards if we need a drink or bite to eat.

Febes, I saw Juno at the Big Scream when dd2 was tiny. i cried at the end when she gave birth, etc. (hormones .

oh Harper's at it again, must see if there's anything i can do to quiet her.

Gert2a · 11/06/2009 21:00

The Big Scream on 1 July is on the calendar! Yeah!

Pula is there a breastfeeding room at meadowhall? Meeting a friend there next week and like to be prepared as to which direction to head for once E starts on her 'feed me now' cries.

Gert2a · 11/06/2009 21:05

Momino I just bathed and sang to Edie and then put her to bed. She then started yelling - not crying, just shouting every now and again, this then turned into crying and I eventually let her carry on for just over half hour. I then went upstairs to settle her and realised she was hungry - oops bad mum!

Gert2a · 11/06/2009 21:13

So, this is what it's like to have a conversation on your own?

I've got cakes in the oven if any one fancies a slice?

Gert2a · 11/06/2009 21:14

anyone?

Momino · 11/06/2009 21:16

me, I want a slice! I've really been into cake lately.

Harper cried for a bit so i went upstairs and rocked her for a moment, gave her a dummy (she spat out), calmed her, put her down and now she's asleep. hope this lasts!

Gert2a · 11/06/2009 21:16

No? More for me then

Gert2a · 11/06/2009 21:18

Am lonely! Edie asleep upstairs. DH at rugby! It's never this quiet here!

Gert2a · 11/06/2009 21:20

Slice of fruit loaf on it's way to you momino.

Reggiee · 11/06/2009 21:23

Cake here please. Although I'm off to bed now. DH at the cricket in Nottingham - been the best day so far with B. Sleep, feed, smile / coo, repeat all day. First time ever he's gone to sleep in the evening without screaming on and off for an hour .

Does this mean tonight will be rubbish....

Reggiee · 11/06/2009 21:25

Hmm..that sounded really smug. Sorry. B is 7 weeks now and I am pleased to say he has improved loads this last week, so there is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. Just hope I haven't spoken too soon...

Am still in bed by 9.30pm each night though!

Tummum · 11/06/2009 21:29

Cake here too please. I need it today after the 2nd day of potty training with DD2 and the near miss with the 40 tonne truck!

Gert2a · 11/06/2009 21:31
Momino · 11/06/2009 22:02

do I go to bed or watch big brother? wasn't into it last year and not sure about this year...

flippineck · 11/06/2009 22:17

aaaaarghhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Phew. That feels a bit better, and apologies for what is going to be a 'me, me' rant. PILs are here and driving me absolutely mad...way too many things to list but the worst offence is continually pronouncing A's name wrong. They've 'only' had 4 weeks to get used to it, FFS. They've been here for a week, only another week to go. And breathe.

Gert - please may I have some cake?

Loving the name check amnesty, haven't been able to get on to catch up - but emmabemmasmum, hope you're feeling better soon and that you get some proper help.

A is really unsettled in the evenings too, and rarely goes to sleep before 11.30, I'm so tired! Keep telling myself it won't last forever, but it feels like. She is possibly the windiest baby in the world, constantly burping/farting/hiccuping or being inconsolable because her tummy hurts. Have got infacol and gripe water, any other suggestions?

HV came today to check A - she's now 10lbs! Not bad weight gaqin at all (v proud emoticon), she was 8lb 3 at birth. MIL has been questioning the quality/quantity of my milk all week, and then after weigh in announced that it couldn't be that bad after all!
