I have sent a message to Itti Bitti about uk stockists for these. They are soooooo yummy! I want the cow print and all the spotty ones, oh and the tiger one too, so all of them! My box from Boden turned up. That is a bad sign, it was such a big delivery it warranted a box. I am ill, I think I need to go to shoppers anonymous.

Honeymoonmummy · 30/05/2009 17:20

Loving the moo cow print! I got that cow print towel I linked ages ago, its sooo soft!

I really need to get my act in order re reusable nappies, which ones are good for long babies folks?

Marthasmama · 30/05/2009 17:34

Itti Bittis are a bit low cut for a long baby but you can always try the next size up. I put M in the large as she is quite long but even her chunky legs are a bit too slim for the large. I absolutely love the Itti Bitti's though. I find them really simple to use and ds helps me put the inserts when they've been washed! There are loads of nappy sites that can give you advice or look up Lollipop advisers on here. Do you have any idea what type you want to go for?

Hmm - You get used to the lingo, honest

Myjob - I have been well and truly bitten by the bug! Speaking of bugs, glad you're feeling better, my throat has come out in sympathy!

Pistachio - What's the age gap between your two? Just watched your latest FB vid. T is only a fraction smaller than dd!!!! He's such a big lad.

So Aubergenie - Di you go shopping? What did you buy?

star6 · 30/05/2009 20:38

We use reusables on weekends. . Just too much to ask of someone else to wash dirty nappies, unfortunately.
Glad yo'ure feeling better myjob.
I don't know if I've admitted this before, but I always have told DH that my period lasts for 2 weeks (in reality, it lasts 2 days). So I'm on "Week 2" right now.... hey you do what you need to do to get a little break, right?
Speaking of, jenwa lol about wanting to live alone. Me too! I think things would be so much easier if DH made a mess in his own place and I never had to go there. he could come over for cuddles, playing with Q, dates with me and regular intimacy .

jenwa · 30/05/2009 20:48

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha star thats naughty!! but funny!!!! I never thought to say that!
If you lived alone DH would be over all the time to make sure he got it then you would not see him for 2 weeks , I think my DH would be the same but I suppose I could cope knowing that the place was still clean

myjob have sent a mesage on your wall re night terrors. hope they get sorted soon

Good evening ladies, I didn't go shopping in the end but I am going tomorrow (I didn't have much expressed milk, so I was worried about S going hungry). We went to Greenwich and got a boat into central London and walked along the Thames instead, which was lovely.

Star - I meant to say yesterday, but was distracted by thoughts of you hoovering twice a day, how great it is that your nephew is doing so well. Really good news.

I was going to suggest Ebay for wraps, Myjob. Did you see any? I love those cow print itti bittis, MM.

MM - What did you get from Boden? I've got a catalogue offer for £20 off an order of £100 and free returns. I was thinking I could just order a load of stuff and send some of it back.

Oh and your post this morning made me realise that I'm probably going to have to stand on the edge of a football pitch every Saturday morning in a few years time. I hope he's into ballet instead. I've got an instinctive dislike of rugby, although I know very little about it. I just don't trust a game where you have to have your ears tied on in order to play it.

star6 · 30/05/2009 20:55

yes jenwa I could cope with it knowing that it's clean
I was thinking it MIGHT start to bother me that he would be living in a messy place, though...
Good for you pistachio running in the heat
Q has been asleep for an hour now. So pleased
So, he naps at around 2 for just a half hour now (2 hour nap in the morning at around 9.30 or 10) but it's HARD to keep him awake and happy from 230 until 7pm!! He inevitably falls to sleep at 4 or 5 which gives him a second wind even though I wake him after 30 min max. (usually 15 ). Anyone else have that problem?

Marthasmama · 30/05/2009 20:57

I thought you might be a good person to ask about the night terrors Jenwa. DS's night terrors were so sporadic that we couldn't do anything about them. He's grown out of them now luckily, but he still has the odd nightmare.

Pistachio - They are so similar in size! It looks like a really good age gap as far as playing together goes. (MM's brain grinds into action...) I do love love love the Bitti D'lish nappies. I even enjoy washing them and then putting the liners in. [weirdo]

I might treat myself to a Pimms.......

star6 · 30/05/2009 20:58

I live in a 1 bedroom maisonette aubergenie, so not too big of a feat to hoover daily or twice daily I sweep in the mornings because DH doens't like to hear the hoover.

I have similar fears about rugby... I really hope Q prefers cross country running or something safer like that.

star6 · 30/05/2009 21:01

Enjoy your pimms MM! DH watching an American baseball game on his laptop. I might go to bed.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2009 21:01

star - does your dh not realise that that would be totally abnormal? Surely as husband and wife you should be able to be honest with each other? You shouldn't need an excuse not to have sex. The fact that you don't want it should be enough.

Yikes at the cost of gymnastics. Was going to look for ballet or gym class for dd to start soon, but you're putting me off!

MM - my Boden deliveries for dd have always come in boxes! I need to organise/photograph etc some of her old stuff to sell on ebay, as mini-boden usually sells well on there. Perhaps I should offer you first dibs!

Hope that you had a good day shopping Aubergenie, and that you managed to fit a nap in too.

I bet that Poppy would love banana mushed up with coconut cream hmm . And you can use it to make rice pudding too. Must make one like that myself actually.

I'm struggling more with thinking of meat free recipes than I am with making them dairy or soya free! What would you have eaten previously? Stir fries? Bean based casseroles? Veggie chilli/curry (but you're avoiding onion/spices too?). Can you have quorn - that's not soya based is it, but does it contain any? Cheese free pizza (I make my own bases too). Baked potatoes. Sandwiches (make own bread if can't find soya free). Oat milk works well in pancakes, so you could make them with savoury fillings.

We have aircon installed in all of the bedrooms in our house, and I love it. I just cannot sleep in a stuffy room at all. The portable ones are a pain though, as you usually have to have a window open to shove a hose out of, which sort of defeats the point!

Had friends that we don't see very often round for BBQ today. They have 2 girls who are about 9 and 7 or 8 I think, and dd plays really nicely with them. Ds was in a good mood too, despite only having 2 30min naps today!

Aubergenie - I got this, this, these, this and this. I also got some shoes for ds but they are too small. I really wish that ds wasn't interested in football. With S's muscles, he could be a gymnast!

Star - M is the queen of power naps. She nods off for 5/10 mins, after being totally exhauster and apparently that is enough to keep her going for hours! She was really tired around 2 today so I got her off to sleep but five mins later she was wide awake. She kept going until 6.45 when she decided she was knackered but then perked right up again after a bath and didn't go sleep until 8!

star6 · 30/05/2009 21:11

I told him 10 days, which to him, means 2 weeks pretty much. I actually do have a friend who has her period for that long (well, 8 days). I guess maybe our marriage sucks, then
I have serious issues with making people feel badly about themselves. I think flat out rejecting him would make him feel badly, so early on, I made that up (when we were first together). I feel like I shouldn't have admitted that now
It was really hard those 5 months after childbirth, but he did understand that I was just terrified and supported me through that.
I'm going to bed now.

jenwa · 30/05/2009 21:13

myjob poor little boy, it is soooo horrible to watch. DD appears to wake up and looks through you me then screams, its horrible when you cant comfort them but only reassuring when you know they dont remember it. loulou is also very good with this, she gave me good advice and also lots of info on line.

star Phoebe has about 2 hrs sleep in the morning then today she slept from 3:30 -5 and got up and ate well and had a bath and bottle and bed at 7 ish. She tends to sleep in the afternoon for about an hour. Could you let Q sleep for an hour, maybe at 3:30 put him to bed for an hour?

Anyone watching britains Got talent? Diverstiy were fab!

Been out today with sis in law so had a nice day. Am tired though. They came back here and kids all bathed together and DD1 shattered.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2009 21:19

Oh star, don't feel bad for admitting stuff on here. I was just surprised. Dh and I might not always get on very well, but we are always pretty honest (except about what he's spent all day doing every time I go out, of course ). If it makes you feel better then I will admit that dh and I still haven't had sex since ds was born.

OP posts:
jenwa · 30/05/2009 21:19

star ahh, I am sure your marriage does not suck dont be sad. Dont be daft admitting that either, I thought it was quite sneaky in a funny way , To be honest at least there is no pressure that way rather then having to make a discussion about it. I hate it when Dh wants it and its never heat of the moment, he has it planned in his head and does the same thing and I know what he is up to so end up having this discussion in my head whether I will or wont! I should say "no im on!" hehe!

jenwa · 30/05/2009 21:22

Actually that has just reminded me that I read a thread on here last night about if any ones DH enters them whilst they are asleep the person said it did not bother her and sometimes she wakes up and goes along with it and other times she goes back to sleep
