CSWS - Yes very annoying, but it wouldn't be surprising in my house either. DH gives the dc their breakfast and then just leaves M's mess on the floor and ds's bowl etc on his little table. I am not complaining as you will note, DH'd gets their breakfast.....meaning I am in bed sleeping. However, when I make breakfast/lunch/dinner for everyone I clean up afterwards!

Aubergenie - I think it was around this age that we introduced Humphrey the Elephant to ds. He wasn't sure at first but eventually the two were inseparable! He has many different incarnations of Humphrey now in various sizes. He still take the original to bed with him now. M still loves her pink bunny (although pink bunny is hiding somewhere at the moment - [worried]) I got her a couple of Angel Rabbits as she loves her bunnies so much.

Myjob - I think you need putting to sleep! You're always ill at the moment! I think your immune system is worse than mine. Hope you're feeling better soon. It is miserable being ill so often.

Star - You are a crazy lady - vacuuming twice a day?!

Pepper - I forgot to comment on J growling!. M does it all the time as ds growls at her whilst playing with a tiger. She has started doing a very deep growl and it's so embarrassing. She was doing it at the station to other day and a small dog pricked up it's ears and started barking, looking around for another dog.

M now refuses to be helped with things like yoghurt and mashed potato. I tried to load up her spoon with mashed potato tonight for her and she just got really angry with me. SO I just plopped it on her tray and she shoved it in!

Honeymoonmummy · 29/05/2009 22:30

Aww bless you all. You've only written one more page.

Marthasmama · 29/05/2009 22:36

@....@.....@.....@.....@

Quiet here tonight....

Hello Hmm - Maybe everyone decided to take it easy for your sake.

pepperrabbit · 29/05/2009 22:43

CSWS - I would be livid too. Somehow if DH has the kids he absolutely cannot achieve anything else as well - no chance of doing a load of washing or anything. He'd be most however if he came home and saw the mess that would be left if I did that!

Aubergenie - LOL at you with a furry monkey down your front! I hope you've bought 2 so you have a spare?

MM - those angel bunnies are sooo cute! DD loves her strokey which is a very flat cat really - one of those cuddle cloths with a pussy cat head - does mean she can only go to sleep with a soft toy against her right cheek though..... I love the idea of local puppies looking confused with M's growling!

Myjob - I'm so sorry you're poorly again! You need to get yourself a gin &tonic. How's Naomi's rash??

Star - at vacuuming soo much!!! I hoover once a week though I do have a dust buster thing for mealtimes emergencies.

HMM - hello! happy reading!

pepperrabbit · 29/05/2009 22:44

OK so my typing's better - but it's not fast yet..

Honeymoonmummy · 29/05/2009 22:48

You'll have to bear with me...I'm also watching Jonathan Ross and internet trawling for air conditioners - Poppy's room is currently 25 eek!!

ronshar · 29/05/2009 22:57

Hello. I am here. Thank you all, I have spent the evening catching up[gggrrr]
Who gave me the lergy?? And W has it. I think it was Myjob or Aubergenie. Poor W he has not slept properly for 3 nights. He is full of snot. Just when I was getting used to my sleep again. However he has cut his first tooth today.

Half term. HHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP.

Dont get an air conditioner. Dries out the skin and airways too much. I know they make me ill. Keep the window open and only have light layers on Poppy. Much better solution.

I shall post more when I have can remember what has gone on.

Ooo Star well done. Dont question it just go with it. Thats the secret of successful parenting

Honeymoonmummy · 29/05/2009 23:05

Oh thank god Ronshar. If I had to look at another air conditioner I would've shot myself. I'll go back and catch up then.

Honeymoonmummy · 29/05/2009 23:38

Yay! I'm all caught up now!

Loulou, that's good to know re the reflux tailing off at 30 weeks.

MM, you made me laugh re M and the rice cake "spirited away" - where the hell did she keep it??? Oh and I HAVE to get that poppy sun canopy

CSWS, I was looking for DF and soya free recipes for myself. I'm still on the AK track for Poppy altho I'm determined to beef up her calories to fatten her up a bit so if any of you can think what I can give her with coconut milk/ cream ...(I got some today).

I'll buy a new fan instead then maybe. Has anyone got a tower fan? Are they quiet?

Honeymoonmummy · 29/05/2009 23:40

Ooh Kasabian are on Jools Holland. Can I be bothered to stay up?

aubergenie · 30/05/2009 08:56

Hi Ronshar, I think Myjob and N gave it to me and Stan, I've passed it to you, you've passed it back to Myjob and now I've got it back again. Oh joy!

Pepper - That is a VERY good point about getting a spare monkey. Thank you! I'll send Dp out in his lunch hour.

I love the idea of the growling babies.

Dp has offered to take S all day so I can go into town and do some shopping - I'm desperate for some sandals and a few summery bits. Trouble is, I'm so tired I'm not sure I can be bothered.

ronshar · 30/05/2009 09:02

Get out there lady and do some shopping. You can never be too tired for shopping.

Marthasmama · 30/05/2009 09:10

Hmm - I made M stirfry with coconut milk in it, but you're doing purées aren't you? You could do a curry without any hot spice in it. Chicken purées ok iirc, add some potato and some mushrooms...oh, is Poppy a veggie? You could always do a veggie curry with coconut milk. M likes coriander and garlic so you could add that for some taste. I have been trying to find something that confirms it's ok to add spice when weaning and this gives discusses the benefits of adding some herbs and spices to their food. I always added herbs and spices to DS's food and now he eats pretty much anything, including 85% coco ashtray-dipped chocolate.

Marthasmama · 30/05/2009 09:15

Hear hear Ronshar! Go shopping Aubergenie, but go somewhere cool and air-conditioned. You deserve to treat yourself, we focus on our babies so much that we are in danger of forgetting about ourselves.....says the woman who spent all her birthday present money on her dc! Especially as you're now lighter than before you had S! Enjoy yourself, take a book and have a coffee & a muffin. Your men will be fine.

Marthasmama · 30/05/2009 09:43

DS has gone to play football this morning and DH has taken M. I'm at a loose end..... I am not happy that we have started down the road to football obsession. DS wanted to play rugby until his mate asked him to come and play football. Hrumph. It's going to get expensive!

ronshar · 30/05/2009 10:04

I shall think of you out in the rain and snow EVERY Saturday morning[he he]. Could you bear to watch DS play rugby?
I am dreading W getting older. Luckily the girls are drama and gymnastic's. DD2 only started gym last year and she is in the squad. At 4! It is very expensive. Competions are quite frequent and she will need a new leotard for each one. £25 a go. She is still tiny so not many second hand ones around.

Marthasmama · 30/05/2009 10:19

Ronshar - He's so small, he'd be a 'hooker' so would be pretty protected by the rest of them and I think I'd prefer it to football. I watched my brother play and the parents were terrible. I watched Dads cheer their lads on for headbutting, shoving, punching etc. I nearly clocked one of the boys when he cracked his elbow into my brother's head on purpose! There was a team that prided itself on being the dirtiest team in the league, they were 9 years old FFS. The parents often started rucks with the parents of the other teams. Madness! Rugby is totally different. Or so I've heard!!! If he gets hurt playing football, believe me, he will not be going again. Bloody hell - £25 a time! She must be good though, that flexibility stays with you. I was a ballet, tap and modern dance girl, then gymnastics, then horse riding. Drama's an excellent one too, good for building confidence. I am going to force encourage M to do ballet as it is great for posture & flexibility, but suspect she will be as dainty as an elephant, just like her mother.

ronshar · 30/05/2009 10:33

Yes I am as dainty as an elephant. Not sure where DD2 gets it from
The problem with drama is that everything becomes a drama. I mean everything. At 9 DD1 is an oscar contender already. Not in a good way either

ronshar · 30/05/2009 10:37

Guess what. I am still in bed.
DD1 watching a load of rubbish on TV.
DD2 at gym. DH did the driving today.
DS has just woken up from his first nap of the day, which started at 8am, having woken up at 5am and then not going back to sleep!
DH & DD2 will be back any min so should get up really. Also battery is about to die on laptop so thats it for me and my lazy morning.

Hi all. I know, HMM in the dsytime, revelation!

I'm not bringing Poppy up as veggie as I think knowing what I was lke as a teen there's nothing more likely to turn her into a McDonalds muncher. So I'm gonna raise her on meat and let her decide when the time comes. Having said that, DH only eats white meat so she won't get much red meat which I don't think is a bad thing.

I've not given her chicken or fish yet as AK recommends that at 7m plus and she's 7 months next week.
But it's a good idea re the chicken. I'm gonna leave the spices/ garlic given her vomity reaction to my eating onion tho. God I'd love to be able to start giving her more adventurous stuff and dairy
