I've heard about men and hoovers MM. You'd better tell Mr MM to be careful, he could end up in casualty

Marthasmama · 28/05/2009 22:38

Maybe it was him who broke it! Thank you by the way Hmm. He had forgotten. He is such an airhead!

Honeymoonmummy · 28/05/2009 22:42

Oh good, it's not got lost in the post then! Page 30...

Honeymoonmummy · 28/05/2009 23:07

I'm up to page 33 but I'm knackered so I'm off to bed. DH just said he misses Poppy (he's been home with her all week BTW), he wants to go wake her up so he can play with her. Errrr - no!!! Night all!

star6 · 29/05/2009 08:20

Q slept in his cot all night again. 7.30pm-5.30am. I put him back down to sleep before I left for work, too. He woke several times, but just pop binkie (dummy) back in or turn over to tummy and he was fine. I'm not sure what happened... I post the problem on MN and then he's ok now... Maybe MN has magical sleep vibes....?

RachieW · 29/05/2009 08:38

Great news Star! We've also had a bit of a break through with Jack, since being on hols he's gone back to sleeping through until 6am after his dream feed, about 10pm. Then last night he was fed at 10.30pm and didn't wake up until 7am! I actually woke up first and rushed in to check he was still breathing Not counting my chickens yet though. We've been here before but fingers crossed he'll keep this up for a while...or forever

aubergenie · 29/05/2009 08:53

Well done on the sleep Star! Q seems to have turned a corner.

Myjob- How are you feeling today?

CSWS - I got my delivery at lunchtime, so I was able to go out in the afternoon. It was S's passport - it's so funny to see him official.

about the job. Is it full-time?

Rachie - Welcome back. Glad you had a great holiday.

Star - I don't know if I've missed you mentioning this before, but how is your nephew who was born so premature?

Another awful night here. I saw every single hour on the clock.

On the plus side, S isn't gasping around looking for a feed every time he wakes now so I didn't feed him every time. When he woke he almost settled himself a few times, but just couldn't do it (he had started to manage a couple of times before he got his cold). Also, I was able to settle him back to sleep reasonably quickly each time, so we have seen some improvements, but she's right when she says the NCSS isn't a quick fix.

star6 · 29/05/2009 09:57

thanks rachie! Good for you, too! oh, aubergenie Can you nap with S during the day? Good on you sticking with NCSS... sounds like hard work!
My nephew born at 26 weeks had heart surgery 2 weeks ago and is recovering now. All seems to be progressing at the moment. And mommy is all better now (aside from C section scar of course, but she's not even focused on that at all). Daddy is a professional photographer, so they have some gorgeous photos.

star6 · 29/05/2009 12:14

Unfortunately I am looking after children! I expect that Ronshar has not been around as she will have her hands full during half term!

star6 · 29/05/2009 14:06

I'm looking after children too

Yes, Star it certainly does feel like hard work at the moment. But even if we did decide to go down the CC route (which we may well have to do if things are still like this when I'm properly back at school in September) I feel like I'd have to talk to my neighbours about it and find out when they were away or something, as their bedroom is directly above ours, the sound-proofing is rubbish and they get up really early to go to work. So, as I don't really feel much like discussing my child-rearing choices with them, I need to stick with this for the time being and hopefully things will start to improve. Fingers crossed anyway.

We're working today on introducing a "lovey", which is basically a toy that they turn to for comfort. So I've been walking around with a furry monkey down my top for a large part of the day.

Sorry you're feeling so rough Myjob.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/05/2009 16:46

Oh ffs. Just got in after being out with both dc since 10am, and dh hasn't even cleared up from breakfast .

star6 · 29/05/2009 19:51

Q has a little teddy from the isabella's toybox books "henry teddy" and he LOVES it. I like it too because it looks like it will last through washes...etc.
I have no idea if Q learned how to self settle back to sleep with little intervention from my confusing, cry, pick up, cry pick up, cry pat pat, shh shh, cry.....etc....perhaps he learned that I'm just crazy and he's too tired to deal with any more of my attempts to get him to sleep in that cot so he might as well do it . Really, I don't know what happened... he's just doing it all of a sudden.

jenwa · 29/05/2009 19:56

Hi All
CSWS men, they dont deal with mess, they create it and add to it!

star well done to Q hopefully he will get this sleeping sussed.

HMM Have you caught up now?

mm lol re your DH and Hoover although have you not hoovered in that amount of time

Been out today, had fab day. Went to get DH's b'day pressie and then took dds to fountains by river where DD1 got soaked but I had spare clothes, my mum came too and treated me to lunch and i got us ice creams.
DH went to Germany early hours with his brother as there parents there (doing a minaturer show) but FIL was taken to hosp as had passed out last night after a meal. DH and his brother went straight out at 2:30 am and got to them after lunch today. Really they wanted to go to their mum as she was a wreck, the hospital kicked her out after visiting and she was trying to get back in at 4 am but no sucess! anyway, he is fine, high BP and Cholestrol. No surprise really, they all eat sooo much greasy stuff and he has been busy making the stuff for the show, building an extension and completing doing the house up plus looking after the grandchildren (BIL's kids 2 days a week) so I think he was shattered, plus they drove to Germany. I did tell DH that it was most prob that and nothing to worry about. This all means DH not home for his b'day, just me and the kids! Going for picnic with sis in law and kids tomorrow though.

Marthasmama · 29/05/2009 20:23

Jenwa - Put the ed face away. I borrowed my mum's one. Plus we've mainly got floorboards so we can use the broom/dustpan and brush if needs be.

star6 · 29/05/2009 20:25

I agree, jenwa I'm a hoover fanatic. I hoover at least once a day. If I'm home, twice. I think I might have some OCD problems with cleaning, though. Dh can't stand clutter, either... but doesn't pick it up .
csws - sounds SO familiar about not clearing up from breakfast all day! Although this week on his half term, he has cleaned all of Q's food dishes (not put them away, but cleaned them by the time I get home!)

star6 · 29/05/2009 20:29

oh, I got cut off there... meant to add... he cleaned all of Q;s food dishes... but not his own

aubergenie · 29/05/2009 20:35

at twice a day Star. How on earth do you find the time?

CSWS - I'd be seriously annoyed by that one!

jenwa · 29/05/2009 20:52

I hoover afew times a week and sweep floors daily. Have inlaws dog at mo so her hair just covers the floor and you can feel it under your toes [eek hairy feet emotion]!!!

mm haha, I figured you prob had a spare

My dh likes to de clutter when friends come round but he puts the whole kitchen contents in away so the toaster and kettle are hidden too the rest of the time he likes to cover the toaster in crumbs and leave margerine on the side and put the washing up on top of the dishwasher
I want to live alone , OCD here too star but we have already agreed we were seperated at birth [wink

jenwa · 29/05/2009 21:03

oh no! is anyone watching britains got talent! I was not keen on that girl but now upset as she went to pieces! ahhh!
