bethoo · 18/05/2009 10:35

just had call from dr and have to give sample at end of the week and take my own test as well and they will tak it from there. i just hate the waiting!

heather1980 · 18/05/2009 10:45

bless ya, you do have your hands full! having a man is like having another baby IME, just this morning dh asked if he had a shirt ironed, i asked him if he had ironed one. 'no' he said, so i said no you don't then!

bethoo · 18/05/2009 10:53

dp is being very good, had back massages already and will not even let me pick up the puppy! yes it gets worse, we bought a puppy 4 months ago! just a cavalier king charles to keep my boxer company!
hopefully moving in wiht dp this year, defo before baby arrives (if baby arrives)

star6 · 18/05/2009 10:56

wow, bethoo! you are brave... new man... 2 babies... another one... a puppy. I'm tired just thinking about it!!

bethoo · 18/05/2009 11:21

i am an idiot

heather1980 · 18/05/2009 12:02

no your not . i'm planning a 3rd baby too, not till late next year mind! i'd love a dog but we live in a small terraced house and it wouldn't be fair.

Marthasmama · 18/05/2009 12:12

Hello Bethoo, I have heard about you and your lovely DP but I didn't arrive on this thread until post-natal so haven't 'met' you until now. Ooooo exciting if you are pg but yes, slightly crazy! There are a few of us who are planning more babies so you're not that unhinged! Even though M is the incredible non-sleeping baby, I want a third too.

Heather - I like the cut of your gib young lady. The ironing comment sounds like something I'd say to DH too! So are you planning to start ttc at the end of 2010?

M was a nightmare last night. I ended up staying up really late as I am starting to dread bedtime so I am knackered. She woke up every hour until I gave in and let her sleep in bed with me at 5am. But if course she's all chipper and smiley today - how?

bethoo · 18/05/2009 12:20

thanks you Marthasmama, nice ot know that while i was gone i was not forgotten!
my little maia has been suffering from constipation since she is on formula with the childminder. so i have been giving her prune juice mixed with cool boiled water. i was also advised to give her brown sugar (demerara??) with water too as it apparantly softens it so easier to come out. it is awfula hte way she screams with it. my ds has never suffered with it so maybe she will suffer from it on a regular basis. anyone elses suffer?
Maia has her first ooth pooing out on her bottom gum and looks so cute. she is so chunky i am finding it hard getting her chubby legs into some 6-9 trousers LOL

bethoo · 18/05/2009 12:20

i meant her first tooth popping out! lol

ronshar · 18/05/2009 12:24

Bethoo. What a lunatic you are

It is lovely too see you again though. I figured you were far too busy to sit and talk about your new DD

My dad was with us for dinner yesterday and I gave W his dinner a la Duncan. The looks my dad gave him where fab. Even my DH was a bit WTF is he doing. Funniest thing ever watching W chase peas around the high chair top!!

The MaxiCosi Priori is the best car seat. It has come top in tested for years. Look on the Which? web site for details. W hates being rear facing, his poor legs end up half way up the seat back. I shall have to keep him in rear facing as last time he was weighed he was still only 16lb!

Myjob, can you not move dentist forward? Post pregnancy is a key time for dental damage. Baby has sucked all your goodness out. Your teeth are normally the worst effected. Thats why dental care is free for 12 months post birth.

heather1980 · 18/05/2009 12:26

MM i think so, i'd so love a 3rd but the broodyness hasn't hit me yet! i was so ill with both dc that i need them both to be older before ttc again. i was sick for 22 weeks with dd and 17 with ds. and dd was only 15 months when i got pregnant i feel that i missed out on loads and tv became a babysitter. dd is off to preschool in sept and i hope alex will be at preschool when baby no3 is due.

Marthasmama · 18/05/2009 12:27

bethoo - try pureed dried apricots if you're doing purees or fresh apricots of you're BLWing. If you use dried ones, make sure they're the brown sulphur-free ones. Whenever M is a little 'backed up' I give her some apricot and it softens everything up. She was very constipated last week so I gave her some apricot and she did four soft poos in one day! I am going to buy shares in apricots, I am always banging on about them!

heather1980 · 18/05/2009 12:28

i knew that you'd get apricots in there MM!

Marthasmama · 18/05/2009 12:33
  • I am a woman obsessed.
bethoo · 18/05/2009 12:36

thanks Marthasmama will look into that as i had her on cow and gate pureed fruit thingys. it seems that i solve the problem then the following weekend she is backed up again! apart from that she is a smiley chubby little thing who adores her brother even if he does get a bit too rough for my liking climbing all over her!
but it is nice watching them together

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/05/2009 13:29

We don't like having a leg on the carseat, so avoided the priorifix and went for the almost as high scoring Britax DuoPlus Isofix instead. Have always been happy with it, and ds will use dd's old one, as she is another chunky monkey and is in the stage after already.

Bethoo. Potential congratulations. But if you weren't planning on trying for a baby yet then how are you pregnant again. I have just one word for you young lady...CONTRACEPTION.

Go Alex with the pulling up. He'll be cruising and schmoozing before you know it!

I bet that W had a ball didn't he ronshar?!

OP posts:
heather1980 · 18/05/2009 13:32

god don't say that! he had this look as if to say 'look at me i'm so cleaver!! but what the hell do i do now?'

loulou33 · 18/05/2009 13:53

i'm confused mm - i followed your link from your post on sat (9pm ish) and used the code you quoted 'hello' from the email they had sent you - or am i getting mixed up again!!

there is no way joe could stay in his rear facing seat any longer as his feet are half way up the back seat as it is....oh well crap parenting from loulou again then....

hi bethoo - glad to hear from you - it was bound to be you getting pg first what with all that sex stuff you get up to

Marthasmama · 18/05/2009 13:56

M pulled herself up by hanging on to the collar of DH's t-shirt but instantly collapsed back down. She started to twig that she has to move her feet in order to walk, it's just getting them to move that is causing the problem!

I got some baby vitamins with omega 3s in them and M seems ok with them. I got me some iron too.

ronshar · 18/05/2009 14:48

Good girl MM

CSWS, W always loves to feed himself, it comes down to the very simple issue of do I have the time and the spare clothes to let him get on with it
Heather Alex is obviously very clever

I was sat on the floor reading the paper, which was out of a certain young mans reach on the table, when I spotted these two sets of small fingers appear at the other end! I then saw these big eyes staring at me. W had pulled himself up just enough so he could stare at me but not enough to pull himself to stand. Oh man my life has ended again

star6 · 18/05/2009 15:26

Q pulls himself to standing a lot. It makes me crazy because he gets all caught up in his feet and doesn't quite know how they work then ends up falling over. Today he went from belly position to sitting upright without any support. ahhhhh I don't want him moving around so much!

Marthasmama · 18/05/2009 15:31

Put lead weights on his arms and legs Star. That's the only way you'll stop him.

pepperrabbit · 18/05/2009 16:13

I'm not even going to let J read this pulling yourself up stuff! Tho as she can't even sit up at the moment I think we're safe for a while
bethoo how exciting - someone else having a baby! 3 is jolly hard work but they all love each other - it's like having your own gang!
DD will have to stay rear facing until we figure out how on earth we are going to get a different 3 car seats in the car .
I seem to remember buying DS1 the second stage seat as his first birthday present and he was bigger than DD so shan't think about it yet (la la la, head in sand)

pepperrabbit · 18/05/2009 16:15

BTW, I meant someone other than me having a baby - I have no plans ever ever ever to have another baby.
Just in case that was ambiguous.

loulou33 · 18/05/2009 17:59

MM - i have finally worked out where i got it wrong - doh. i am such air head or is it airhead? what will i be like at work, 4 weeks today

i know i get confused pepper but i hear you loud and clear . That's NO more for you
