I normally wear them out then take them off later so yes I know what you mean. I do LOVE them though, shoes that is.....I have about 100 pairs

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/05/2009 22:39

Only 104 105 are mine!

myjob - i don't wear heels either, i used to when i was younger but i live in whisper crocs plus my feet went up from a size 6 to a 7 when i was expecting dd and they never went down again, so have lots of lovely shoes that don't fit.

Marthasmama · 09/05/2009 22:43

CSWS - I have a pair of crocs, they are baby blue and they are kids ones as I have tiny feet. I got them when I was pg and determined to walk round Bluewater for more than 20 mins, which is all I could manage in normal shoes. I have 15 or so pairs of Converse as I love them too. I have wide feet but can usually get away with going up a size (which means I can actually get adults shoes!). I haven't bought any Converse for a year or so and am itching to buy some more.

Myjob - 205 eh? That's not sooooo bad.

RachieW · 09/05/2009 22:43

I'm preparing myself to be completely overwhelmed and exhausted Myjob. I did a few days before maternity leave and it was great fun but all go. I realised the other day that I won't be able to say "ok ten minutes quiet working now" anymore . Just hope that ds is sleeping through the night by then.

Hi all, just a quickie as once again I'm completely knackered! Just had a lovely long bath in some arnica bath gel my mum gave me to help my aches and pains.

I've not read anything again, it's hard when I have to come upstairs into the office. We've been having a cleanup today, got lots of purees in the freezer too today so I'm happy with that.

I have finally tracked down some oatly cream so my mission now is to make a fish pie. If anyone knows any good recipes for oat milk/ cream let me know thanks! Me cooking, imagine?!

Anyway, I'm off to do the dream feed then to sleep. Night all!

RachieW · 09/05/2009 22:47

I love shoes too MM- I got some lovely ones the other day as an early b'day present from dh. Black patent with a diamante buckle- sound tacky but they are pretty

Have been told I have to wait to my bday to wear them

Having said that no more nights out planned for a while and they might look a bit odd at babygroup

M is awake after an amazing two and a half hours kip, so I'm off too. Nighty night ladies.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/05/2009 22:53

I have these in tan on order at the moment, but I am never optimistic that mail order shoes will fit.

Yay. I ahve been out for dinner & in the pub.
A pub at night.
I have had wine and beer.

I have squeezed into Versace jeans from waaaayyyy back.
Of to bed as a bit woobly

jenwa · 10/05/2009 08:26

Well you have all been chatting about shoes and I missed you all , I love shoes, but like myjob those heels are killers and my feet feel like they are bending way to unaturally and they burn like hell! Look lovely though , I live in boots or pump shoes/ballet type. Being tall I dont wear heels to often as end up much taller so think I have trained my feet out of them! My mum still does. We were messing about in River Island the other week trying on massive silver stiletos and I looked like a tranny walking in the shop, mum was fine she can do heels!
I currently have plasters on my heels from some shoes that rubbed me! I am a size 7 but those ballet shoes vary as depends on style, I have a 6 1/2 and a 7 from next in different styles and same in new look, cant beat new look for cheap shoes
These are the ones I got recently and love
Oh god just looked at more shoes on their webpage, never knew they had that many

Anyway, DH fine, he finally came home about 4 ish after xrays and a trip to police station where they will post him a statement as no one around to see him then !!
He just had some swelling around his neck so nothing broken or no compression around spine which is great, he just has whiplash. Thanks for asking after him though. I am sure he will milk it need looking after today though

Glad you had a nice eve out ronshar hope you are feeling ok today , bet you looked fab in your jeans too, I dont think I have any from way back, I prob would not get my foot in them!

star6 · 10/05/2009 08:28

Happy American Mother's Day

RachieW · 10/05/2009 10:25

Glad you had a good night Ronshar and well done for the jeans. I'm still waiting for to squeeze into my old jeans, I think it could be a long time coming if I keep eating this way

Jenwa- I love the shoes you linked. New Look are great for shoes, I have a black and white checked peep toe pair with bows on the front from there, they look like Minnie Mouse shoes. I think their shoes are quite comfortable too.

aubergenie · 10/05/2009 11:10

Rachie ? I know exactly how you feel. I was in KS2 before I went on mat leave, and I still don?t know exactly where I?ll be when I go back (3 days a week), but I could be in the nursery, or teaching French to year 6 (possibly a day of each, plus something else I?m waiting to hear). I?ve got very little nursery experience so it?s pretty terrifying. Plus there the whole thing of just being out for a year and missing so much, which of course is the same in any job. I?m starting to feel quite anxious about it all.

But Rachie, bear in mind you?ll have far less marking to do!

Happy American Mothers Day to YOU star! Did dh do anything special for you?

Gah ? missed the shoes talk. I love shoes but just haven?t had the opportunity to dress up for so long I just live in Converse these days.

Shopping trip was a bit of a downer ? I had £40 of Top Shop vouchers that someone gave me for my birthday but the Top Shop in Canary Wharf is really small and was just packed full of 80s stuff. I love all that stuff on my teenage nieces, but I?m a firm believer that if you wore it the first time round, you really shouldn?t wear it when it comes round again. Mutton, lamb and all that.

I did manage to get a top that I can BF in, but nothing exciting.

Marthasmama · 10/05/2009 11:48

Ah Aubergenie - I knew you'd be a Converse girl. They are sooooo lovely. I really need to get another pair.

Star - Happy Mother's Day to you Star. Right, after all his protestations did DH make a lovely fuss of you today? He'd better have!!!!

Ronshar - Glad you had a good night and at the feeling wobbly! I always feel wobbly, but I think in a different way

M slept much better last night although getting her off to bed was a nightmare and she slept in bed with me. But she did sleep from 12 until 5.30 the went back to sleep until 7.30.

star6 · 10/05/2009 11:58

Thanks! DH now trying to fix the washing machine . He's made me a lovely breakfast and dressed Q up in a handsome button up shirt with cute trousers (looks like a proper little man) - we are trying to go out to lunch but Q decided to nap a bit later. Need to sort out leaking pipe and washing machine still (those 2 things are not connected) - but I'm happy to do make DH do that right now instead of anything else as I NEED TO DO LAUNDRY!!! I'm down to 2 nursing bras and 2 vest tops and used last towel this morning (at least we can use our shower now... I was showering at my friend's house every morning last week!).

jenwa · 10/05/2009 12:53

happy mothers day star better to get the stuff sorted, you can always go out for tea?

mm well done M for sleeping better

jenwa · 10/05/2009 12:55

oh and rachie yes I think new look shoes are really comfy too cheap and comfy, always a bonus!

aubergenie sorry you never got much, it always happens when you have money to spend you cant find anything! So you never fancied the illuminous leggings and leg warmers

Rhian82 · 10/05/2009 14:06

DS had a great night last night - slept all the way to 4.45am, then fed and slept for a couple more hours. So the sleep training we're doing is having some effect!

Can I ask how much solid food everyone else gives by now? How many meals a day, what sort of thing at each meal?

RachieW · 10/05/2009 15:08

Aubergenie- we'll have to give each other moral support via MN! I think I'm going back 4 days for the next year but things not really sorted yet. When are you back?

Jenwa- I'm off to NL to get more shoes this week for our holiday- I'm hoping they've got some gladiator sandals. They are so cheap, but last well too. My Minnie Mouse ones were only £20. I love a bargin.

Rhian- We're doing BLW now after purees were refused by ds so at the moment I offer him something eveytime we eat- so at least 3 meals a day. Having said that at the moment he is eating very little, just exploring really.

CSWS- are you around? Gave ds scrambled eggs and toast today- he loved it but couldn't pick up the eggs and the bits I tried to push onto the toast fingers kept falling off. I ended up posting bits of egg in his mouth, I know this isn't in the spirit of BLW- how did you get ds to eat smaller things? I know that the ability to pick up littler food and objects comes in time and that by giving practise it will come quicker but does that mean ds has to miss out on food like scrambled eggs until then? Oh and when I said posted in his mouth, only when he showed me he wanted it, not force feeding
