csws lol to cat names
glad your DH is ok jenwa. How horrible!
I just put Q down for another nap now, too as morning one was only 45 minutes.

DH replacing bathroom pipes today... I think we need a plumber. DH thinks he can do it all himself I don't think so.

Sounds like a nightmare with your dd csws!

I'm going to do 4.30am express every other day now instead of every day, so that means I can get up at 5.30 every other day Since he's not taking so much ebm while I'm away, it's a waste to make so much milk for extra if he's not going to drink it.

jenwa · 09/05/2009 11:59

star I dont understand how you are able to function at 4 or 5:30! I would be a zombie

Still waiting for DH to come home, can imagine him being bored shitless in A&E whilst he waiting to be seen.

DD1 currenly applying make up whilst listening to a new cd I got her that she has on repeat on just one bloody song, wont listen to the rest! Its the 3 little kittens song "lost their mittens and they began to cry" aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! DH will certainly have a headache when he arrives home if he has not already!

jenwa · 09/05/2009 13:10

Just seen this

Marthasmama · 09/05/2009 13:23

Jenwa - all I could think was Awwww that baby is soooo cute. I must be mad. The falling asleep at the end made me laugh though. I have nodded off feeding M in the night before, curled up into a ball.

Its funny when you are sooo tired that you can fall asleep so uncomfy, I fell asleep on Phoebes bedroom floor one night, went down to check on her and woke up 2 hrs later! The only good thing was that the following night I thought I would do it again so that DD1 would wake DH in the morn and not me so got comfy in DD2 room about 5 and stayed htere snuggled up til about 7-7:30 when DD1 had gone up to DH in the loft to wake him

Still waiting for DH, he is waiting for dr and has neck brace on and is on a bed , off to MIL and will see if need to go to hosp as his dad and brother are there at mo.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/05/2009 13:53

Fantastic link jenwa .

And lol at 30 mins not being a 'real' nap star. For some of us that's as good as it gets!

I'm back!!!!

Had a fab time at centre parcs (yes MM the oop north one - although they are all South for us) DS1 loved every minute, particularly tots fencing (he has a sword obsession, so this was right up his street).

MM - i'm with you on the cat front, i ca't stand them pooing in the garden but much worse, when the tom cats spray on the furniture and flowers - it stinks!! I heard somewhere that in the Uk we give more money to animal charities than childrne's charities - hwat does that say about us, that we care more for mangy dogs and cats than for abused children???

Heather - lovely dress and fab colour, Monsoon in one of my favourite shops, along with White Stuff

Jenwa - great link. Hope DH is OK. Don't want to worry you but my neighbour fell on a hill side and banged his head. He had pins and needles in his fingers and they discovered he had fractured a vertebrae - hope dh's numbness is not so serious and its just bruised.....

stop sulking myjob - i'm here (well i'm off now but i was here for a bit )

I'm here now too. M took an hour and a half to get to sleep despite surely being the worlds most sleepy baby. She had less than 6 hours less last night and only had about 40 mins sleep during the day. How she continues to function is beyond me!

Jenwa - forgot to say earlier, poor DH. He may have just bruised some nerves, that does happen right nurse-types? But poor you having three babies to look after now.

Myjob - M's Baby Naming is in two weeks. I found an old skirt round my mum's which is very pretty and I managed to squeeeeeeze into it so if I get some hold-you-in tights it should look not too shit ok-ish.

Loulou - Glad you had a nice time. I think the Oop North one is the posh one with the lovely spa that I wanted to go to but would take forever for us to get to!

Aubergenie - Hope you had fun shopping .

Hmm - Where are you woman?!

CSWS - Hope you've had a good party and that dd has been a good girl for you rather than a sleepy pickle!

RachieW · 09/05/2009 20:42

Hi not been able to get on here until now and have missed so much chat- just forgotten most of what I read- sorry.

Jenwa- loved the Catherine Tate clip .

Went out with work last night, really must stop doing this as everytime something is said that makes me feel nervous about going back. I really get the impression that all I have done before has been washed away with the birth of ds and that I will be needing to prove myself all over again . Also think I have too much time to think at the moment (early hours of the morning mostly) and have developed post pregnancy paranoia

Feeling pretty miserable about the whole thing and dh is out so am going to watch crap tv to cheer myself up.

On the positive ds went to bed at 7.30 due to no naps this afternoon and so far all is silent on the monitor.

star6 · 09/05/2009 21:01

oh no, csws. 30 min as good as it gets... I would not be very happy. Need to clean

rachiew - you're a teacher, too, right? Or did I remember that incorrectly? What do you teach, if so?

Jenwa - hope DH is ok!

myjob - poor you! You must be exhausted by bedtime.

Q took a 15 minute "power nap" at 5pm today. I don't like when he does this as it pushes his bedtime back a full hour. He went down at 8.30 instead of usual 7/7.30. It's fine, but DH going out to play snooker tonight so I was hoping for more "me" time. how selfish, I know... but I really savour time when I'm all alone lately

RachieW · 09/05/2009 21:07

Star- you are right, I am. Have previously taught KS2 but come Sept will be in Foundation Stage . Quite excited in lots of ways but nervous too. Will have had nearly a year out as well so am lacking a bit of confidence generally anyway.

star6 · 09/05/2009 21:10

And welcome back loulou!! I too am curious about how Joe slept while away. I've never had Q away for a night anywhere... not because I'm afraid of it, just haven't had much extra money lately and since he's been born. But thinking about it now, I do wonder how he'd sleep in a new place...

RedElsie · 09/05/2009 21:22

Woah! Thank you for all the welcomes and good advice. Obviously I'll need to check in more frequently than daily next time I ask a question!!- I've had to make notes!! I hope this doesn't end up too long.

Anyway, Ekka tried socks but he is very skilled with his little mouth- haven't however tried micropore tape Rhian!!! (Mental note to get some). CSWS Just working through eliminating stuff. Decided yesterday that citrus fruit makes him worse but have realised this morning that his lovely organic creamy porridge with milk (one spoon for baby, two spoons for mummy!) seems to have made him flare up a little. Ronstar Not looking forward to going back to work - who will keep me updated on the goings on in Doctors??! Heather beautiful dress and if you have got red hair (like me), perfect! Funny thing happened to me after giving birth I inadvertently dropped two dress sizes but I completely lost my boobs and hence my figure. Very strange and not entirely satisfying. Aubergenie DS didn't sleep at all for the first 3 months of his life and then he started going to sleep at about 1 or 2am and waking at 4. Then, he just started going to sleep at 8 or 9 and now sleeps right through til about 7.30(except for his itching eczema) my difficulty is getting him off in the first place and I now have to lie down with him for 20 mins or so and then transfer him to his cot once asleep. Not ideal but worth it!

Thanks again anyway and I really wish I'd found you all 7 months ago

Marthasmama · 09/05/2009 21:29

Red - I'll keep you up-dated on Doctors

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/05/2009 21:30

Yes star, if ds took 2 hour long naps I wouldn't live in a filthy pit would have a lovely clean house too.

Welcome back loulou. Glad that you had a lovely holiday.

Party was fun. Dd didn't sleep on way there, or on way back , and took a while to settle in bed tonight, but she played with her friends and was pretty low maintenance whilst there. Ds also didn't go to sleep until 8:30 tonight (normally around 7), and then woke at 9 and it took dh a good while to resettle him - grrr. Unfortunately we left loads of stuff at friend's house. Another friend who lives really close picked up some of it and dh has picked that up from her, but all the kids suncreams and the baby bjorn carrier are still at host's. Will have to dig out close carrier and use that until I get chance to pop round. Am going to order rose and rebellion one tomorrow too, now that they have replied to me re waist extender.

Red - Just noticed you;re a civil servant. Who do you work for and what do you do? I worked for the 3 years Home Office then the CPS for 2.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/05/2009 21:33

We were around ante-natally too Red, so you should be wishing you had found us 16 months ago .

Porridge with milk causing a flare up suggests that he might have an issue with dairy then. It is the most common cause, but a dairy free diet is quite manageable these days, as long as you can live without cheese!

RED - i notice that you are in manchester too, where abouts are you? i'm in bury.

loulou - did you go to winfell? we went there in feb for dh birthday and had a fab time, i even treated my self to a spa treatment.

i really like that dress, i'm going to go to the trafford centre next week and try a few dresses on, if i go for green what colour shoes should i get?

like this one too

and this one
but i'm not sure about black and white for a wedding.

heather1980 · 09/05/2009 21:46

this one www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_66853_1003851_-1

Marthasmama · 09/05/2009 21:49

Heather - with the green dress I think metallics would be a good option for shoes. You could go for either gold or sliver, depending on what suits you best. Are you planning on a shrug of jacket over the top? These are pretty and not too high. I think black and white is very classic for a wedding.
