Tee hee. I've missed a couple of calls on my mobile today from an 0800 number. They just rang me again and asked to speak to Miss Jamlet. I said that wasn't possible because she was asleep. The woman sounded rather flustered to hear that and eventually said she would call back again. It was Scottish Power apparently so I look forward to them asking Jamlet if she'd like to switch her gas & electricity supplier

Rialentless · 19/05/2009 20:15

I FB-ed daisy this morning but no reply yet.

I am having an "easy" day and having pizza as a treat for sticking to my diet nearly all week. It was meant to be lovely fresh pizza with a salad bowl from Morrisons, but DH has gone to work and has to stay over so I'm having to make do with a frozen one

Just had a massive thunder and lightening storm with hailstones, so DS2 is very clingy, DS1 just missed getting struck as he walked home from cricket which was cancelled (and he got in looking like a drowned rat just as my DF went to collect him in the car).

Rialentless · 19/05/2009 20:16

why does it say I did that post at 20.15? it's not quite quarter past seven.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/05/2009 20:16

I like this

Sputnik · 19/05/2009 20:27

Glad Daisy is ok. Hope she hasn-t been forced into cleaning or ironing or something!

Norty, I have been lurking on some kitchem threads lately, and your name pops up. I gather you put non ikea appliances into ikea units, did that work out ok? We were thinking of doing the same thing as we bought an ikea kitchen but DH thinks their appliances are bound to be crap so wants to get the oven and dishwasher elsewhere. Sorry for boring everyone else.

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/05/2009 20:30

Hello everyone

Glad you enjoyed NY, Bumper. It's somewhere I'd love to go.

Daisy hasn't played her turn in our Scrabble game for a couple of days either, which is very unlike her. Does anyone have her mobile number? I hope all's well and she just has 'pooter issues.

LittleMissNorty · 19/05/2009 20:32

I have her mobile. I'll text her. Didn't want to intrude or anything, but I'll see she's ok

LittleMissNorty · 19/05/2009 20:35

How was Greece Fairy? Relaxing I hope.

Pizza sounds nice Ria

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/05/2009 20:39

I love that garden.

PMSL at Jamlet replacing her energy supplier

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/05/2009 20:43

Bore away Sputnik

By the way I bought this for jamlet last week and she loves it. We played a game after nursery last night, me, her, DH and George the toy giraffe. We each had a card and we picked the pictures one by one and let Jamlet work out whose card each one should go on by matching the pictures up. She loved playing it like that and was upset that we didn't have time to play again tonight after nursery.

LittleMissNorty · 19/05/2009 21:45

Sputnik - it worked fine. they didn't have much choice IIRC (although Whirlpool make their appliances) so we fitted a hob, oven, integrated dishwasher and integrated washing machine all from Neff and it worked fine. Just need to have storage space and make sure delivery is co-ordinated! I did buy their built-in microwave though (£299!!!!!) as I assume it is made to fit in their cupboards, and I did get my cooker hood from them for the same reason as we had a cupboard on top of it. Integrated appliance doors seem to be standard fit anyway I think.

about sinus infection Fairy...must've been painful flying!

Rialentless · 19/05/2009 22:05

glad you had a good time fairy. One day I'll go to Greece (still haven't found Shirley Valentine - I bet DH has hidden it in case I get ideas!) about your sinuses though, are you OK now?

great link jammy. did he design or make any of it then?

glad daisy is OK.

Rialentless · 20/05/2009 08:12

am in a quandry. DS2 says he has tummy ache, a sore throat and earache, and he has been whiney, but I don't know if he's trying it on what to do???

HellHathNoFury · 20/05/2009 08:35

I have an IKEA kitchen and appliances (hob/cooker)
Both appliances are the most shitey shite things ever to be produced

the kitchen units etc are nice tho

LittleMissNorty · 20/05/2009 09:16

So Ria...did he go? We wew always told to go to school on the understanding that if we were really ill, we'd be sent home

Heard from Daisy today.....as we thought Sky have fucked up....."going cold turkey sucks, house no tidier, love to you all & thanks for concern!"

Rialentless · 20/05/2009 09:33

He didn't go. and I'm regretting it already as it's like have a shadow that asks questions! But I suppose the fact that he's still like a limpet means there's something wrong, though he may not be proper poorly. He is terrified of thunder so he might be worried there'll be a storm when he's at school, also it's multi-cultural week and they are having an assembly that he's worried about, so it could be anything. I do usually follow the "if you're really poorly they'll ring me" line thugh.

glad daisy is OK - when does she expect to be back?

Sputnik · 20/05/2009 11:21

Red dog blue dog, DD insisted on playing that every night for about a year when she was between 2 and 3! She-s over it now though.

Thanks for the info on kitchens, I was going to start a thread on it but I don-t think I need to anymore. We already got the hob though so too late for that. The rest is piled in flatpacks in the spare room as we got the lot one day that they were doing 15% off everything. Luckily we have the whole summer to assemble the thing, we are supposed to complete next tuesday, fingers crossed.

Rialentless · 20/05/2009 15:34

arse, I think my fridge has broken.

Rialentless · 20/05/2009 15:40

I think I was right to keep DS2 off - he has just had a 2 hour nap!

LittleMissNorty · 20/05/2009 16:09

Hope he feels better Ria. How are you feeling? Are the side effects wearing off?

I could do with a 2 hour nap....how do you get a baby to go from 7-7 instead of 6-6? I can't work out how to do it. Kept him up till 7 last night, and he fell asleep on his bottle then still woke up at 5.50am

Is the kitchen for the new house Sputnik? Fingers crossed for you.....doesn't sound like the Italian house buying system is any easier - or quicker - than ours!

Sputnik · 20/05/2009 16:58

Good grief, you are complaining about which 12 hours your baby sleeps! Think yourself lucky

Yes the kitchen is for the new house. The whole thing has taken forever.

Rialentless · 20/05/2009 17:21

Have had a very ropey day today norty, I still feel a bit out-of-body, and am far too hot, but I don't feel anywhere near as bad as I did at the weekend.

Of course, I'm in a tizz now about the fridge not working and am convinced the chicken I'm cooking is going to poison us all, or DH will get home, tell me it's off, and then I don't know what the kids will get for tea. Arse.

Rialentless · 20/05/2009 17:22

what's your kitchen like sputnik? can you link a pic?

LittleMissNorty · 20/05/2009 17:28

Ria......stick it out....usually about 2 weeks I think. btw chicken will be fine. Just cook it well.

Yes, I know I'm very lucky that he sleeps 12 hours......poor Daisy doesn't get anywhere near that I think. Its just I want him to shift forward an hour....

I hate buying and selling houses. Very stressful and I shan't do it again if I can help it!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/05/2009 19:23

Awwwww you guys . I feel all loved and cherished

I'm back with the modern world.....internet cold turkey....bejaysus that was tough!!

No internet on Saturday and realised the virgin had pulled the plug. Dh was meant to call Sky last week and find out when we would be connected but with one thing and another forgot about it (or maybe not ). Anyway we called Sky and they said that it would be five days till we recieved the router and then another two weeks for connection . Called virgin and begged for a temporary reconnection which they agreed to and said it would be Monday.....nothing Monday or yest4rday so I called today and they said "oooh, you should have phoned on Monday"; all that unnecessary housework . Actually not much more than usual got done as everytime I tried one or other of the littlies piped up. It's so much easier to keep them both contained in the living room and pooter away while they play.

Sounds like a good trip bumper...am v . I would LOVE to escape from mine for a few days.

Sorry for your fadge fury...SPD sucks. I hope you don't have too much trouble in labour; mine caused me a LOT of grief.

Ria, sorry about the side effects, but it'll be sooo worth it once things settle down.

Foxy, how is the sickness? all better I hope?

Sputnik, hope the packing is going OK.

Natty, yay for Ellen with her pants all day. DD told me she was doing a wee today, so that's sort of progress.

Same old same old here; DS1 a nightmare, Bumble an insomniac delight, DD.....challenging and great fun in equal measure. bumble is sleeping fine until about midnight and is then up every 45 mins till 6.30 and wants feeding back to sleep. Tried to deny him this and he ends up being up for over an hour until I give in.....but, progress last night in that he slept till 3.30, fed and then went back to bed. He is in a room with DD now so that may have a lot to do with it? fingers crossed we have turned a corner, especially as he is eating like a fully grown toddler (he had sausage and chips on Friday )

We are off up to visit the scottish contingent on Friday for the long weekend. Can't wait as we haven't seen them since the beg of September and my big big sis has been having some health issues and I'm a bit worried about her.
