oh dear Norty - what's she doing?

Just back from GPs - am on waiting list for minor surgery to have my skin tag removed. And am back on sertraline - I got in such a tizz waiting to go in and see her, I decided to mention it! SHe did ask if i maybe had PTS, but I don't think so. So, should I take it at night or in the morning? I can't remember

have additional children again just now

LackaDAISYcal · 15/05/2009 16:25

afternoon....my two are a bit too demanding for me to have much time to post; but I do manage to read.

Poor DD Norty I hope she isn't too sore.....and oh dear for the circle trauma; maybe a bit of Mr Maker will be a good antidote. "We are the shapes....do dodo do do do" I hate numberjacks as well! Has anyone seen the new thing on cbeebies...waybuloo? It's trippy with odd looking children.

arse for the car Ria and I hope DS isn't too wet.

and for your apostrophe Sputnik. I have been meaning to mention it.

Not sure of the shelf life of PN....I'd like to think that we will all still be chatting to each other when they have started school; we'll certainly have more time to do it then

fury, I hope you're feeling better and foxy's DD as well.

My two littlies are rarely asleep at the same time....hence the longish post.

HAd a horror of a man from rentokil round this morning about the local rat problem and was made to feel about six inches high for having a compost bin, that my children would die of Weil's disease and that the declining red kite population was down to me needing him to put poison down which would get into their food chain via poisoned rats and mice. He also lectured me on feeding birds as this is the single biggest food source for wayward rats and then told me that if he was my neighbour he would be less tham impressed with a compost bin over the fence and was in my face asking why I needed to compost anyway when I could buy "perfectly good compost" from the garden centre. I told him that he was a little bit aggressive in his attitude and I wasn't happy about it...so he back pedalled a bit and came over a bit less ranty.....twunt. the council gave us the compost bin, then pay him to come and sort out the rat problem it throws up.....waste of taxpayer's money anyone? but I suppose it saves them on landfill tax!!

what a wanker. I would have spouted OU environmental stuff to him (if I could remember any) Do you get a lot of red kites in Leeds? (apologies if you do)

I like to think we aren't a PN group any more, just a "parents" group (would support group be going to far?) I hope we're still here chatting when they're at school or what the hell will I do all day long? will have to have another baby or get a job

LittleMissNorty · 15/05/2009 16:34

Sounds like you were quite polite Daisy....cheeky bugger....in my current mood I'd have told him to fuck off!

I'm really really hoping I have PMT and DD is just being normal. I still haven't had an AF since E was born and want this bloody coil.

She is sending me demented with her whining and moaning and crying....hanging off the fucking gates which she will break if she carries on....we have every bit of every fucking puzzle all over the floor.....well you did ask ...roll on bedtime (and DH getting in!)

DS won't sleep today either and is puke, puke puke....currently on his 4th outfit of the day.

Glad you spoke to the doctor Ria....I got myself worked up taking E the other day and I'm already on medication . I take mine at night. Hope it makes you feel better x

God, I really want a fag - or a glass of wine

Hows DS Daisy?

LittleMissNorty · 15/05/2009 16:35

You couldn't have put it better Ria - what a wanker

LackaDAISYcal · 15/05/2009 16:57

Ria, we do around here! There is a really helathy red kite population thanks to conservation measures on the Harewood Estate.....which is only a few miles as the...erm...red kite flies

We also have an owl that regularly visits, but I thought that secondary poisoning wasn't an issue with the modern poisons they use.

I explained the measures we had taken to rat proof it (and we haven't seen activity since) and he dismissed them as nonsense. I have just checked online and what we have done is just fine according to the council website. He should be grateful that irresponsible people like us are keeping him in a job tbh

I would complain about him, but you really don't want to be messing with people who have access to poisons

oh and he also told me that if the garden was better maintained it would be less attractive to them ...cheeky twunt....'tis a work in progress

oh great, DH is back to form, and DS2 and baggins playing up.

I want a day off!

HellHathNoFury · 15/05/2009 18:29

ooooh me likey

Rialentless · 15/05/2009 23:16

hanks for link fury - every little helps here.

am currently self-medicating poorly foot (stood on huge thorn on healthy-child-free walk) with wine and foot in bowl with hot water and TCP. very sexy!

I took 2 hours off (baggins and DS2 asleep by 7, DS1 watching war films with DH) and went off-road walking on a bridleway that goes not-quite to our old farm just what I needed. walk only took 1 1/2 hrs - the other time was spent with DM inspecting non-existent wound and drinking wine

Bumperlicioso · 16/05/2009 03:06

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/05/2009 15:39

I'm home Need to catch up and that'll have to happen later, but just bookmarking for now...

TheNatty · 16/05/2009 19:02

goodness me been quiet on here, i do hope we are not dying off as i wouldnt know what to do without my evening fox of you guys gossip.

we managed a trip out to sainsburys, my hips coped really well with the new back support i spent a fortune on!
ellen wore knickers the whole time, and used the big loo in sainsburys no accidents, i am so proud of her
we've had a difficult week with her as she keeps having accidents all of a sudden despite being dry for a few weeks now. hoping that this will be the turning point as made a HUGE fuss of her!

jammy do come on and tell all as soon as you get a chance, i want to know all the details!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/05/2009 19:38

Hi Natty. Glad your back support is helping

Sorry to all who are having sleep/behaviour troubles etc. SOunds like I missed a couple of traumas while I was away.

Well, I sadly know very little about it all. From what I can tell it is growing in numbers but only very slowly, and for those that have got it the symptoms aren't too bad, so it could be a lot worse. However it may well "grumble" on over some time, and there is always a risk that it could turn worse in the future, so there is a lot of work going on sorting out procedures etc so that if that happens everything is ready to deal with it. I spent the 4 days printing emails (yes, printing them!), or writing meeting minutes, or answering the phone. It was all fairly hectic though so didn't actually get a chance to really read any of the hundreds of emails that came in, hence me not really knowing much! The good side was that I had the mornings free, so did a little shopping and went to a couple of museums And it was of course nice to wake up when I was ready and have a nice shower and hotel breakfast each morning

Rialentless · 16/05/2009 21:51

Hi jammy, good to have you back.

well done to ellen

sounds good bumper

hi norty

LittleMissNorty · 17/05/2009 17:04

Heeellllooooooooo

No-one here....

(contemplates going to Baby-centre)

LittleMissNorty · 17/05/2009 17:05

(or maybe netmums!)

Rialentless · 17/05/2009 17:22

hi Norty

struggling with side-effects here

have been in bed most of the afternoon, went to watch DS1 play a tennis league match this morning (didn't have a clue what was going on), and just back from church where we made kites.

how's things with you today?

LittleMissNorty · 17/05/2009 17:27

Ria - the side effects will be worth it as soon you will feel much better.

Did DS1 win?

Sitting here trying to encourage DD to eat her dinner!

Boring weekend.....crap weather....wish I could say next week was going to be exciting...

Right, off to clear up dinner time mess! Later x

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/05/2009 18:52

Sorry Ria, I seem to have missed something. Side effects from what? Sorry you are obviously suffering though

ILs here for the weekend, so have been fairly busy. We all went out for lunch today, to Pizza Express. So not brilliant for my waistline, but only had one dough ball and shared my pizza with jamlet (and still couldn't finish what I had) and shared some frozen yoghurt with her too for pudding, so could have been a lot worse.

TheNatty · 17/05/2009 20:20

where IS everyone?

Rialentless · 17/05/2009 21:34

of lunch jammy.

DS1 did not win his tennis, I think he won one game/match out of the whole morning/ I wonder if he should give up really and concentrate on something else as we don't fit in with the other families at all.

jammy I am on ADs for my anxiety. and I feel like poo today

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/05/2009 22:42

Aw Ria, sorry to hear that. Hope they do the job though. Do you expect the side effects to be a transient thing?

Jamlet should have a trial session in the toddler room tomorrow at nursery, and if that goes OK, go there for the day on Tues, and if that goes OK move there permanently after that She looked so grown up at lunchtime sitting colouring while we waited for lunch to arrive. Hard to believe that almost 2 years have gone so quickly.

LittleMissNorty · 18/05/2009 12:58

Aww Ria....won't be long before you start to feel better. I've had a wobbly week, even with mine this week

I've finally come on, so now need to find the courage to book an appointment for the coil, and then get there without having a panic attack.......or perhaps I should just wait until next month?

Good news about the toddler room Jammy.
