not a bad night's sleep here

DS2 off school again though tummy ache and 2 poos before 8.15am. Am keeping him off til lunchtime if it doesn't develop into anything he can go for the afternoon. I think I need to get hime some super-strength vitamins or something, he is having a bit of a growth spurt and it seems to be washing him out and making him prone to poorliness

just another day where it looks like I haven't taken him to school because DH wasn't here to do it

TheNatty · 21/04/2009 09:34

kids had me up at 6am, didnt get off to sleep till 2am as DH was out all night and i always find it hard to sleep alone.

ive got to go out today, i need to buy onr of those bump supports in mothercare so i am goig to be broke as they are so expensive.

roll on payday!

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 21/04/2009 11:27

I am fucking fuming. DH just come home after a meeting - his boss has organised an overnighter for DH, spanning the fucking country, tomorrow to late Thursday, without consulting DH first. I need DH (and the car) on Thursday cos I have an appointment in town. DH has to go "because that's what he was hired for". He doesn't even work there properly, he is on a temp/casual basis. I have to rant on here - fighting back tears - because if I do it to DH I'll telll him to stuff the fucking job. I am sick of not being able to have an ordinary everyday life because the people he works for take the piss

rant over for now...

I couldn't afford a taxi, but I have to go to the butcher dentist for a scale and polish, DH was meant to be baysitting.

I can't rant to my Mum cos they're away and she will pack up and come home.

I'm just so, so tired of it. What is it all for? It's not as if it's the best job in the world or anything, he'll just carry on earning a wage that we can just about live on and carry on being pissed about. I know it's not DHs fault, but if I could find the keys to my mums house we would be out of here.

I need to ask

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 21/04/2009 12:00

I don't know how I did that.

I need to ask sensible questions like does he have to take our car, who is paying his expenses (although if it's us he won't be going because we can't), what (if anything) he is getting paid for going. But I can't bear to talk to him about it.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/04/2009 12:09

Arse Ria. You're being very reasonable and sensible of course - no use spending money (especially if it's money you haven't really got) covering expenses for a work thing. Perhaps if it was going to lead to something great it would be worth it, but you seem sure that it'll just lead to more of the same in the long run so not worth it in this case. What is it with some people for taking the piss like that? You (or in your case your DH) tries to be the decent person and they get taken for a ride! And as for the lack of notice - I am for you! I had a boss who used to be like that, would organise stuff and I'd be the last person to know. Don't people realise that we work to live not the other way round?

HellHathNoFury · 21/04/2009 15:25

I hate choosing names.
Probably because the names I like everyone else hates.

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/04/2009 15:39

Hi guys. Congrats on the blue news Fury. Best ploy with names I think is not to tell anyone what you're choosing till baby's here. Then they have to say 'oh, that's lovely' even if they're not thinking it [unless they're v v rude!]. Before the baby's born everyone thinks they've a right to express their opinion welcome or not.

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/04/2009 15:46

How crap Ria.

HellHathNoFury · 21/04/2009 16:16

TB you are right. We did that last time.

I have told a couple of people. But mainly... indifference.
And my family would insult it before or after the birth, they're not fussy

Ohforfoxsake · 21/04/2009 20:26

Agree with T, don't discuss baby names (except with us, of course). Some smart arse (usually an IL IME) will have something to say about it.

HellHathNoFury · 21/04/2009 21:03

I have mentioned to a couple of people the names we have shortlisted... mixed responses.

Where 1 person thinks a name is cool, someone else hates it.

So I have decided before we talk about any more we need to have conviction in it ourselves so we can brace ourself!

My family will happily take the piss once the baby has been born or not - and they LOVED DS's name so we have a lot to live up to

Ohforfoxsake · 21/04/2009 21:05

No one liked my boys names, but they are the perfect names for them.

Bollocks to 'em, that's what I say!!!

HellHathNoFury · 21/04/2009 21:08

I like them actually!

And yes they do suit

Ohforfoxsake · 21/04/2009 21:10

Ahh, but you have met them! I mean before birth. Not that the ILs knew about DS1 before he was born

Ohforfoxsake · 21/04/2009 21:11

G'wan. Tell us.

HellHathNoFury · 21/04/2009 21:12
