Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

Lady Buzz, have just sent u a friend request on facebook, its from Emma Jackson - profile pic is DD smiling, with a pink spotty bow in hair and chewing on fingers.
Thanks for letting me join group, cant wait to see what people look like!

AFingerofFudge · 10/04/2009 21:03

Aaaah, I do feel for those having difficult days with depression. Although I have no personal experience of it (please don't think I'm boasting, I have plenty of other ishoos to keep me going ), I still do have days when I lose the plot at the kids, sometimes irrationally.
In fact, one thing I struggle with is consistency. Not the type where you say no to something and then struggle not to give in, but the sort of consistency dealing with one of the kids when they are misbehaving or accidently breaking something etc. For instance, tonight DS1 spilt water all over the table and floor when we had just sat down to eat. Now depending on what mood I'm in, depends on how I react. Tonight I was already stressed due to DS2 running around the floor with muddy feet, M screeching very loudly (his new trick, "playing " with his voice, he does it for hours on end. Although endearing at first, very annoying after a few minutes!!) . Anyway, I ended up shouting at DS1 for being so clumsy, and I made a big song and dance about clearing up the floor.
On another day, when I'm in a good mood, I'll be really casual about it "don't worry darling, just get a cloth and mop it up". I do think my kids sometimes look at me with fear in their eyes when they do something accidental in case i'm in a stressed mummy state. DUSWIM?

I have sent ladybuzz a request through fb to join the group!

Oblomov · 10/04/2009 21:08

Facebook wise, I only have the 'oldies' as it were. how do I link to people like... um... londonboots and barbs then ?
anyone else want to be-friend me ?
best you give it to me in moron-type-language, because not good on facebook jargon. what do i do ?

ChocOrange05 · 10/04/2009 21:11

daisy my two fav nappies atm are my itti's and the tots bots aio in bamboo - have you tried either of those (I think the itti's are v similar to fuzzi's)

I know, I know, I'm not meant to be here!!

Oblomov · 10/04/2009 21:14

Very interesting talking about shouting, crying, fudge's inconsistency - I am like that fudge - depends if you catch me not on a good day or a bad day, I don't have days, I just have a build up and then have a lash out.
I don't have dark thoughts, Daisy. I am a great mum. Limitations of course. I think I do jolly well, considering the plethera (sp?) of minor issues that I face.
Incase any of you have ever noticed, I don't have confidence issues. maybe I should have more than I do

coolkat · 10/04/2009 21:20

I joined face book a few weeks ago. I know I have some as my friend.

Def friends with Rutho, Merry, Daisy, Ladybuzz, Choc, look in their friends for K Smith. Pic of me with my 2 girls!

DH got called out just over an hour ago, don't know whether to go to bed or wait. Not got a clue when he will be home.

londonboots · 10/04/2009 21:23

obs i was just about to say I am up for a game of scrabble! I will find you via the FB group...give me a minute...

lots to catch up on...

hana congrats on the job offer!! This is what I used to find childcare - www.childcarelink.gov.uk/index.asp. We have chosen a nursery which we are very happy with. monkey nanny share sounds great - especially if it's so convenient!

anger interesting that anger is a symptom of depression - i never knew this. interesting what everyone is saying... so me getting furious at DP for not sorting the laundry properly for the 75th time could be depression?! i have always thought that is quite reasonable!! but seriously, very interesting and i think i probably manifest my (internal) negative emotions with (external) anger...must think about this more...

sorry for everything i've missed. hope everyone has lovely easter break. xx

LackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2009 21:24

I have just ordered an itti and .....and am expecting some tots AIO to test soon

and thanks guys . I guess MN is my therapy

right am off for some gin and then an earlyish bed. DH is doing the night shift...yay, but DD has taken all her clothes off so I'm fully expecting her to wake up cold in the middle of the night!

LackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2009 21:34

oh arsewipes.

DH has just gone to get some milk for bumble from the freezer and the door has been open and the milk is partially defrosted . I haven't been in the freezer today and can't remember if I was in there yesterday or not.

I have only got 4.5 ozs expressed which isn't enough for bumble in the night

I really needed a decent sleep.

PinkyMinxy · 10/04/2009 21:48

oh daisy that's pants. Hope you have a good night.

PMSL at Obs - mum of the century- thanks for sharing! I actually think I'm quite a good mum, too. But like daisy I worry that my dc will be anxious. I now that if I have a really bad do that I cannot hide they start to imitate, but it doesn't seem to manifest itself permanently. I also worry that the rows DH and I have when I get anxious will harm them. Consistency is the key to good parenting, I think, but to get it right 100 percent of the time must be nigh on impossible.

Lol at the nappy retail therapy. I am still high from my sling fix!

barbareebaa · 10/04/2009 21:53

Hi!

have just sent you a friend request on fb Daisy if that's ok (I think I did anyway....)
sorry about your hard day and how utterly frustrating with your milk defrosting.
Obs I would like to be your fb friend (and anyone elses) am barbara anne shaw btw

Oblomov · 10/04/2009 21:55

PinkyMinxy · 10/04/2009 21:57

obs I think I sent you a friend suggestion for vbab.

barbs pick me, pick me!! I'm on daisy's list!

Oblomov · 10/04/2009 21:58

facebook, my surname is the street where the prime minister lives.

Ceebee74 · 10/04/2009 21:58

barbs have sent you a friend request

Daisy ooh how frustrating for you - lets hope tonight is one where bumble sleeps through!

Pinky you are a great mum

Fudge I also have those inconsistencies aswell - how I deal with DS1 all depends on how I am feeling that day - I guess that is normal but I do feel I need to make the effort to be more consistent too.

Well Sam went to sleep quite happily in his new room so hopefully we can get rid of the crib tomorrow and have some room in our bedroom again!!

MerryMarigold · 10/04/2009 21:59

bookmarking. off to bed.

i am a great, fantastic, BRILLIANT mum when i am in a good mood and a terrible, negligent, angry mum when i am in a bad mood. about 50% of that is 'true' ie. i react better/ more patiently in a good mood - and about 50% is just how i see myself and not related to fact whatsoever.

chocolategal · 10/04/2009 22:03

barbs ive sent you FB request too

Oh thats rubbish daisy! Silly freezer door
pinky how is the ring sling?
We have a baby bjorn and i HATE it!!!

Talking of retail therapy i have just bought aa couple of bipi bibs

LackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2009 22:05

right, consensus is if it smells OK it is OK.

I'm off to catch up on FB friend requests and then off to bed.....wish me luck!!!

OP posts:
Oblomov · 10/04/2009 22:06

pinky, you did ? for vbab ? I can't figure all this out !

PinkyMinxy · 10/04/2009 22:07

Ring sling is pretty good, actually. It's a bara barn one, and should be nice and lightweight for the summer. It doesn't beat the woven wrap slings for comfort, though. THey rock.Seriously.

merry love that description of yourself! But I fink you are fab.

ceebee you have made me blush. But we are all wonderful mummies on here, surely??

chocolategal · 10/04/2009 22:09

Me either obs im confused!
Can all the "new" folk to the FB group go to the bit that says who you are and what your MN chatname is!
Then hopefully me and obs can catch on!!

barbareebaa · 10/04/2009 22:10

yay!
