Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

M born 23/10 so one of the oldest babies on this thread. But he was almost a month early, becasue Hana was my twin and we were not due till nov 17th. He is only 24 weeks at the mo.

Heart2, I agree that waiting for the babbling to come is probably the most crucifying. So bf first. before he gets to the babbling stage. got to be worth a try.
Mind you, I am a believer in 'feeding them back to sleep', rather than rocking, dummy, anything else them back to sleep. \Mind you , don't take what I say as gospel. I haven't a clue what I am talking about. Ds1 slept through at 13 weeks, so this shit is all new to me.
ellie, am using a dummy alot. does sometimes help. fudge, hadn't even considered the fact there might be something else wrong, ear or throat, might get him checked.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2009 20:32

obs, i had no idea M was still struggling to sleep..you have been sounding so cheerful lately I thought you must be getting eight hours a night

I have a couple of the V2 bumgenius and they are starting to look really tatty, although I really like them. not sure how well the V3 will hold out. I also have fuzzis and love them but they don't suit all babies. I also have some shaped terry nappies, mainly tots cotton ones, but also have a few microfibre and fleece lollipops from testing last summer and also some flexitots which are fab....really thristy and do well over night as they hold more liquid than a dispo! The itti bitti is gorgeous.....and did pretty well today considering I didn't bother prewashing it!

Both DS1 and DD had had haircuts by this age as neither of them lost their baby hair, but bumble's has mostly gone now, although he does have new stuff coming in.

I have a first. I have a first. From my little boy who does NOTHING. He went from lying down to sitting up. COOOOOOOOLLLLLL

Heartmum2Jamie · 14/04/2009 20:35

Ellilou, have tried the dummy, he just grasps the handle. pulls it out and waves it around while shouting at it (rolls eyes).

5inthebed, we don't have a mobile or anything that has lights or music. We got rid of the FP aquarium that we had for ds2 at his sleep therapists (long story!) insistance

Dozy, I am this close [] to wanting to get him into a routine. Actually, we were in a routine of sorts until dh went on leave after giving his notice. With him being at home, things are much more up in the air. I would be interested to hear about GF lite, even if I don't decide to do it.

Lacks, sorry to hear your in the land of non sleepers too. Like I said, ds1 still wakes alot with bad dreams, pains in his legs or I get woken by dh going to the loo. Curse of being a fairly light sleeper. Yep, I survived the surgery in THAT hospital (the one that was all over the news, lol!). Actually, the surgery & recovery was very straightforward and I had hardly any pain. I don't know why I was so scared. How about you? Better now?

Oh, I also meant to thank you for posting about the pop in's. I got mine in the post about a month ago and it works quite well here. Would also be interested in people's thoughts on itti bitti's. Zack is not far away from outgrowing his size 1 bamboozles, has a little longer in his little lambs but am open to suggestions for size 2 or medium nappies.

As for sleeping, we got a bag for Zack thinking maybe he was waking because he was cold. His is 2.5 and he wears that over a vest & sleepsuit, or a vest, long sleeved top and his wool.

Hana, new job sounds good!

Heartmum2Jamie · 14/04/2009 20:38

Yay Obs!! Well done M!!! Maybe he won't bother with all the rolling over malarky?

Dozymare · 14/04/2009 20:39

hana you made me laugh!! Am feeling tons better, gotta wait 1 month of no more infection before sorting out op....really thrown me for 6 and they now reckon was/is glandular fever. Ho hum, I just get on with it! Your job sounds ACE, deffo best of both Worlds but how would that fit in with your AP? Would you get a CM who advocates that as well? (or is that a really obvious question I jsut asked as you will find that the majority of CM are very much all about routine!!!!!!!!!!

Watching football, not impressed...........ceebee remind me to tell you about me and joe Cole in a cab!

grobags like pinky i am also using 1.0tog....also got 0.5 for in the summer but our house is 20/22 constantly...

ellielou remember that your LO should be getting most of their nutrition from milk for the 1st year, so really if you are doing GF lite, you should be giving a bottle at the following:

7am ish
11ish (give half the milk feed, followed by solids then the remainder of the feed)
2:30ish full bottle feed
5pm - solids
6:30 full bottle

Tiger is not on solids yet and is not having a dream feed anymore. She is around 23/24 weeks......So, she has 4 7oz bottles of Aptamil a day..........

Does that make sense?

ellielou02 · 14/04/2009 20:40

PS I have just posted new photo of Millie in her new Fuzzy!

Ceebee74 · 14/04/2009 20:43

Dozy tell me tell me - I hope his hair looked better than the side-parting style of tonight

Am v worried about the football - we so can't be beaten by the scousers....aaagh!

ellielou02 · 14/04/2009 20:45

AAh thanks dozy did that with DD1 then someone borrowed my book and I never got it back again will try that tomorrow She just started refusing the bottle at 11am but will try and persevere, thanks again

PinkyMinxy · 14/04/2009 20:47

Daisy what size nappies did you get. i AM SOO TEMPTED, thye lookm ,lovely. I want the red ones and the chocolate ones, thye would look gorgeous for summer, but what size? I don't know what mimi weighs- would the medium be ok, d'you think?

Oblomov · 14/04/2009 20:47

Dozy was thinking that I need to implement a stricter Gf routine.Might do the trick. F88k all else has worked
Daisy, no. screaming for 3-4 hrs during the day. not every day. say 1 in 3. not going to bed till 9 or 10 pm . although tonight was asleep by 8pm. and waking normally twice - say 1am and 4am. bf him back to sleep both times.
And yet you say I sound cheery ? atleast that is something I guess

Oblomov · 14/04/2009 20:50

ceebee,agree, side parting is VILE

Dozymare · 14/04/2009 20:52

get in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ceebee74 · 14/04/2009 20:54

dozy absolutely but nowt much has changed has it? Liverpool still only need to score once more to take it to extra time and penalties.

Am currently scoffing creme eggs to comfort myself

Dozymare · 14/04/2009 20:54

so ceebee I got in a cab a few years back (am almost sure it was pre DC's) very drunk and talking nonsense...turns out that the cabbie was only our JC's grandad. Well, he called him up and I spoke crap to him for about 20mins...His granddad was saying "she is a lovely bird, you should take her for a drink". obviously in the days pre Carly!

LackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2009 20:54

I told loads of people about the pop-ins and everyone I told has received one, but I haven't

Yay for M . He was first to blow raspberries as well obs, you posted about it ages ago!!

I put bumble in a sleeping bag (about 2.5 tog) and he doesn't have a vest underneath. We shall see how that goes!

Dozymare · 14/04/2009 20:58

UNSTOPPABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOOOAAALLLL!"

Ceebee74 · 14/04/2009 20:58

Come on!!!!

Ceebee74 · 14/04/2009 20:59

Dozy wow, do you wish you had now?? Actually having seen him tonight, I think maybe not - just think you could be a WAG

LackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2009 21:00

pinky, I bought the large as bumble has really chunky thighs. they are a very trim fit, and if laying it on top of a fuzzi, it's the same size as a medium fuzzi. He only bloody well pooed in it though....sheesh, the nerve of the child . Have you seen the new daisy fuzzis though? I bought a red and a purple....and told DH I was testing them

Ceebee74 · 14/04/2009 21:00

Am just laughing at the 2 seperate conversations going on on this thread - football and disposable nappies

suiledonn · 14/04/2009 21:05

about the lovely cosy sounding houses lots of you seem to have. We struggle to get above 15 degrees here - it's a rented house which seems to have no insulation at all. Amy wears a long sleeved vest, babygro or pyjamas and cardigan to bed topped with loads of blankets, way more than recommended and she has never been too warm!

Well done on the sitting up Obs.

Still no sleeping through the night here but since dd1 who is about to turn 3 still wakes up constantly it isn't something I depend on happening anytime soon. Still feeding Amy twice in the night. I favour the feed to sleep approach too.

Glad to see Dozy is feeling better.

Facebook I keep seeing it mentioned on here. Would it be cheeky of me to ask to join you all since I haven't been around much lately.

Oblomov · 14/04/2009 21:09

Dozy IS a WAG !!!!! Ha ha ha.
Someone said the other day, that she always sounds so cheerful. playing snow/safari games with her boys. always sounds totally idyllic to me.
no no no. not dozy and joe cole. that sweepover just won't do !!!

LackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2009 21:14

I keep cross posting with the footie chat, but know nowt about footie so can't join in!!
