It's chocolate and vanilla ice cream and chocolate-covered macademia nuts. I have to say, MM, that is a little hard to believe...

Oh dear, CSWS - I'll have to eat your portion.

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 21:00

Actually Myjob, I have no accent West Country is my favourite accent. I think it's lovely!

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/04/2009 21:03

Ooh I'll have the choc coated nuts.

Welcome to our pub night ronshar.
Dh has just spilled his entire glass of wine by balancing it on the sofa that he was sitting on. Have told him that he's not getting any more .

Welcome back myjob.

I know, I really am pretty meh about ice cream, unless it's chocolate. But at Aubergenie for thinking I'm an ice-cream monster. I am now watching Ashes to Ashes featuring ronshar's sexy bit of rough.

Ekka · 24/04/2009 21:23

Oooh, can I join in - have a glass of wine here too! Dh has gone to bed as he was up at 5 to get to a meeting in london.

The big news is that both dcs slept through last night from 7.30 to 5.30(Emily) and 6(Matthew)!!!! Now all we have to do is make it happen regularly . Matthew is 6 months old today, unbelievable. Over the last few days he has really improved a lot, both his skin and stuff he does and he is SO much more cheerful at the moment, much more like dd was at this stage.

Myjob it sounds like a lovely holiday. I can't wait till our holiday now.....

MM - I much prefer cake to ice cream too - I have a lovely rich chocolate cake here (dairy free of course) Not sure its meant to go with wine, but in my book chocolate goes with most things!

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/04/2009 21:24

I thought that must be a mistype myjob!
You can be designated driver with your lemonade.

Im a crisp person....salt and vinegar..yum, or pickled onion monster munch

ekka glad you had a better night and your DS is doing so well.

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 21:30

Oooooo thank you Ekka. On another point, do you think that the dairy free is helping with the eczema? I didn't find it helped ds. Even tried goats milk, that was grim. I have cut right down on dairy but haven't gone totally dairy free as I'm not convinced.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/04/2009 21:53

I like crisps and cake and ice-cream.

Ekka · 24/04/2009 21:56

MM, I can only assume its being dairy free because I've not done anything else differently. The paediatrician gave us some other creams, but this is the first week where we have been able to avoid using steroid creams on Matthew's face for the whole week. I assume it must be the lack of dairy, in fact, thinking about it, the last time he put on weight before this fortnight was the time I tried going dairy free before, but stopped as I thought it wasn't working . See, I should just listen to CSWS all the time .

I read that goats milk wouldn't help as the proteins are similar to cows milk so you should use rice milk or oat milk instead. The other thing I'm doing is avoiding soya and it gets into everything - most supermarket loaves of bread have soya flour in them!

Oh, meant to say, welcome RachieW!

I must go to bed, if the dcs do have a good nights sleep I at least want to get the benefit of it this time!

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/04/2009 22:02

'See, I should just listen to CSWS all the time'
Yes. You should all listen to me, all of the time. Am wise old bird .

Am going to bed now, if I can manage not to get distracted by anything en route.

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 22:05

I'm with you on the crisps and cake CSWS. I'm off it as of tomorrow. I have to, I am not my normal size and it's starting to get me down. I feel so uncomfortable. Once this bloody cyst is out it will be so much easier but I'm not even seeing the consultant until the 21st May. Grrrr!

Ekka - Oh buggeration! I'll have to try it then as M's leg is really bad now. It doesn't seem to bother her too much but it is norrible and can get infected. Wahhhh, I hate the first few days of dairy-free. Goodbye tea The goats milk thing is new research, ds is nearly 6 so the thinking was different back then I believe. It tastes of goats. Yuck yuck yuck! Bloody hell Is that the time?!

ronshar · 24/04/2009 22:23

DH came home with lovely King prawn curry, yum.

I gave William fish pie tonight. Then I checked ingriedients and surprise 28% milk. Bugger.

Welcome home MYjob. Sounds like you had a great holiday. Yah for N eating lumpy food & yah for mummy not having a panic about the gagging.

Jenwa, you really need to sort out the situation with your MIL. It is making you really stressed. Can DH not have a serious talk to his mother. If not you may have to think about restricting visitation.

CSWS, you are not old. Wise but not old.

Ekka thats great news about M skin. It is always good to hear of dairy free working. It makes missing out on cheese, ice cream, cheese, ice cream, loads of chocolate, cheese, Ben & Jerries Caramel chew chew, mash potatowith cheese.

Sorry I was getting carried away with my withdrawal symptoms from all things dairy. You would know I have tried to be dairy free since Xmas

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 22:27

I should be dairy free for myself to be honest. Now Ekka says it is working for M, I'm going to have to do it for my poor little girl or be an evil mummy. Booooooooooo. But at least I'll lose some weight. I must give up wheat and sugar too. I might just start eating M's food!

ronshar · 24/04/2009 22:31

Why wheat & sugar? That sounds very drastic. And no fun.

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 22:38

Wheat because I'm not meant to have it and sugar because it's just so rubbish for you. I agree boring but that's how I shifted the baby weight before. Boooooooooo!!!!!!

ronshar · 24/04/2009 22:56

Are you coeliac? Sugar free. Crap what can you eat to cheer yourself up?

jenwa · 25/04/2009 07:54

ronshar I am actually stressed at the mo, think its a build up of things, feel edgy all the time and just want to get away for a bit but actually take my children with me feel like I want to be left to live my life with no one interferring with me or having their say

I need some advice, DD has her breakfast but then not really bothered about her bottle but then 11 onwards gets grouchy, have given her a bottle at 11 but then she does not eat all her lunch and is not so fussed about her 3 ish bottle but then grouchy til tea time! If I dont give her a bottle at 11-12 ish she is grouchy until lunch but eats it all but still leaves the 3 ish bottle not really sure what to do or what to gove her to pacify her inbetween now, it is like since she has had solids she is not fussed with the milk but if I give her finger foods they appear to end up in her hair and neck rather than in her mouth also she is gagging all the time which worries DH and everyone else around me so then I start to panic but know you all say its fine What else shall I do or just try giving her milk as near to 11 so she takes her lunch? Or something else?
Also can she have full fat milk if I made her weetabix? I seem to remember DD1 having it and have read you can use it to mix it with things just not to drink until 12 months?
Maybe she could have a youghurt snack at 11? How stupid that I can forget from one child to another I think its because DD1 is always asking for snacks that I assume DD2 must need something else too! and the fact she can be grouchy!

Hope you all had a good night, DD2 was up coughing again afew times bless her but she still smiling away

jenwa · 25/04/2009 07:54
