you are all sooo funny.

That pic was Paul Walker, he is soooo hot been in quite afew things, not my bed though

Well spent some b'day money and never managaged to spend anymore as time ran out but may go back in on the weekend.

Am off in to the garden now on a poo hunt downside of having a dog and Dh not mowing the lawn, need to go scoop them out the grass!!! yuk!

star6 · 24/04/2009 13:44

LOL at all of your sexy man talk
Q is sleeping better... but not great. At least he's going down in his cot at FIRST now... but up a lot. I slept in 30-40 minute intervals last night and was up 15-30 min intervals in between (with one 60 min one!) Tired at work today.
I've started mixing Quinoa into Q's purees. He enjoys it and hasn't gagged or choked yet. I haven't pureed the Quinoa... just cooked it regularly and then mixed it in with already pureed fruit or veg. Was thinking about lentils tonight. Which colour? Anyone know?

star6 · 24/04/2009 13:46

oh, I meant to ask if that's ok... about hte quinoa... he's enjoying it... no allergic reaction... AND he LOVES yogurt! Loves it! fromage frais, yogurt... loves it all! And is not showing any signs of intolerance or allergy... in fact, he's pooing better. How much yogurt/fromage frais can you give a baby in one day? I don't want to OD on cow's milk protein!

KSal · 24/04/2009 14:09

ok... can i just be totally ignorant for a second or three?

what does quinoa look like and where can i buy it.... finally how do you pronounce so i don't look like an eejit when i ask for it?

All i know is its good for you and want to put it into Em's food.

aubergenie · 24/04/2009 14:18

I'm also bluey-white MM, and can't go in the sun at all as I've had skin cancer. I have dug out a bottle of "Holiday Skin" from the bathroom cupboard to take the edge off though. S has inherited my skin tone, so is wearing factor 40 on his feet and one of those hats that make him look like he's in the foreign legion!

Star -orange lentils go the mushiest and cook really quickly.

star6 · 24/04/2009 14:19

KEY NO WA it's very good for you

RachieW · 24/04/2009 14:40

Phew KSal am glad you have also been hit by the Gary Barlow bug. I think you're right, he has aged really well. Whereas Mark, who was my childhood fav, looks awful.Sorry for the delayed response, I went for a walk in the sunshine.

MM and Aubergenie- I'm blessed with quick burning skin too.. am just hoping ds escapes it. Most of mine and dh family tan rather than burn so fingers crossed.

star6 · 24/04/2009 15:03

Thanks aubergenie! Will buy orange lentils tonight (same as red?)

ksal forgot to say - I know you can get Quinoa at tesco (in whole foods section) and Waitrose - near pulses and whole foods, I think. It comes in a bag usually and is around £1.50 or so. I love it, too and use it as a replacement for rice or pasta. I saw it at sainsbury but it was more expensive and in a box... not sure if there was other flavourings in that one(?) so I didn't buy it there. Also - they DO sell it at tesco and even if you DO pronounce it correctly, they might not know what you're talking about - I tried to ask for it there and got the face. but found it on my own! At Waitrose, they know where it is and what you're talking about. (I'm sure most others at tesco do as well...)

jenwa · 24/04/2009 15:08

mmm Gary Barlow....mmm....

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 15:10

Eeek Aubergenie - Yes, that would keep you out of the sun. Hope you're ok now. DH is quite moley but sometimes refuses to wear any cream. I think I might get him a mole check appointment for his birthday. That will teach him, what a boring (although very important) present. M is paler than me but ds is olive skinned Still need to get some mineral sun screen which is a pain as it is so hard to find and farking expensive. Unfortunately M has just discovered the joy of free will and keeps removing her sun hat.

Well, as you can all see I am not currently on my way shopping. Got half way down the road and M decided to express her feelings about the idea. She went a bit red, then statyed screaming, then started stinking. So DH is taking us tomorrow morning. I have got rid of mini satan ds for the night as he is having a sleep-over at the in-laws so he won't be coming along.

I was thinking the other day that it will be weird if/when we do all meet as although we talk all day, I have no idea what your voices are like! I can guess what Myjob's accent will be like as she is a West Country girl through and through, but what about the rest of you?! I have a medium deep voice and am told I am posh. Apparently I have a good phone sex voice

jenwa · 24/04/2009 15:11

Just posted a whinge on here re MIL! Ended up buying some biscuits today for Playgroup to apologise for the awkwardness MIl has caused. Feel bit better that they see its her not me
ahhhh
Saw MIL in town and she was off with me as she rang me to whinge yesterday and I was short back to her, all re DD and playgroup and her telling me conflicting info to that of playgroup! aghhhhhhh,

Does anyone want me to come live with them so I can escape from here ?? I would have to bring my DDs but surely that will be ok MM how about you as your DH away at times, or CSWS and I will be live in nanny I used to be one too, god that was easier when you could give them back! haha!

jenwa · 24/04/2009 15:12

MM I am not staying at yours now if you posh and do phone sex!

jenwa · 24/04/2009 15:14

I hate my voice, cant explain it but sounds irritating I would imagine, especially when its always whining at a 3 yr old

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 15:15

We have a spare room but it's a play room at the moment. Plus my house is an absolute poohole! And you'd have to do the bins as I always forget. And you'd have to leave the dog.

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 15:17

I don't do phone sex and I only sound posh which is a terrible problem where I live. Oh and, no you can't come and live here anyway. I'm not have a tall slim blonde making me look even worse than I do now!

jenwa · 24/04/2009 15:21

I am good at cleaning, my DH can look after my dog and I have a wobbly belly so alls fine

aubergenie · 24/04/2009 16:42

Oh well if you're good at cleaning you can come here Jenwa. I've offered to host Bump Babies at mone next week, but only because it'll shame me into doing some housework.

Star - orange lentils are the same as red.

Honeymoonmummy · 24/04/2009 16:54

I've just seen a dog run over by a bus and killed. I'm completely gutted. I usually stop dogs when I see them loose and it walked strsight past me so I could have got it.

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 17:02

Oh dear hmm. I don't like dogs but seeing anything killed is traumatic. Please don't start blaming yourself for not stopping it. It's only a dog and the owner should have kept better care of it. Stupid animal, now you're upset, the bus driver will be upset, people on the bus will be upset etc etc etc. I saw a cat get run over and that was bad enough, I nearly had a heart attack because just before it got run over I spied a woman with a little toddler waiting to cross the road. I was scared to look at first but then there it was, a cat upside down spinning on it's back. Are you ok hmm?

Hello my lovely! You need Myjob to do you a round up...oh hang on... Glad you had a good holiday. Hope you've got loads of pictures.

Honeymoonmummy · 24/04/2009 17:18

I love dogs It was only a pup apparently altho it didnt look it, 1 year old, it didn't know any better. the owners let it out of the car because it had been sick and it went to the other side of the car park and down the road before they noticed it was gone. I agree pretty stupid but I still could have stopped it happening. There was a girl walking behind it so i thought it might be hers and didnt want to look like a madwoman herding someone elses dog, then i walked on a bit and saw a bloke on other side of car park shouting and said are u looking for a dog he's down there and at that moment he ran across the road into a bus. Gotta go get Pops anyway. gutted.

Marthasmama · 24/04/2009 17:22

Awwww poor pup. I am a heartless woman when it comes to dogs/cats, but a pup, that is very sad. Please don't blame yourself. You don't need that on top of everything else.

jenwa · 24/04/2009 18:10

ahhh HM thats made me sad too now not that you never helped, dont blame yourself just the shame of the poor dog. How sad and how sad for you to see It is not your fault though.

myjob glad you had a lovley time, that seems to have gone sooo quick.

aubergenie I am packing now then

pepperrabbit · 24/04/2009 18:10

evening all.
HMM
myjob - glad you had a lovely holiday
MM at the perfect voice for phone sex!
jenwa - tempted by your offer of cleaning but no space - as DS1 pointed out, he and DS2 share and Mummy and Daddy have to share too! DD has her own room tho
And ladies upset by being 37! You're not a proper grown up till your age begins with a number 4. I am 10 times DS1's age
Today I had to simultaneously visit a childminder (for DS1), go to my Mum's for lunch and, it turns out, be in all day waiting for a delivery. This has been tricky and involved my mum spending most of the day here just in case it arrives, she also brought lunch here, bless her, and my SIL and DSis came over so it worked out OK, just had to clean to "guest level" this morning (or defcon 4 as we call it)
Delivery finally arrived just as DH got home - so could have spent my day as originally planned after all
Anyway, all things have arrived - my Dad, who does not do things by halves has built a climbing frame for the DS's as joint birthday present. It's arrived in bits with a mini lifting crane thing and he's going to build it tomorrow. It's the size of Alton Towers . My garden is not.
Seriously this thing is going to be 16ft long and 8ft high before the ladder at one end and slide at the other. sigh....
And we are at a party tomorrow while he builds it - god knows what we'll find when we get back. He's lovely - but he does like a "project"....
Is anyone still reading? sorry that was really long!
