ponto i know but that particular day samuel was having a great day its not always like that in fact day to day care is quite tough on us all.
samuel needs oxygen everyday to assist him, he takes frusemide and spiralactone for his heart or he would be swamped with fluid on his lungs, we have to back pat him every day over the knee twice daily or he panics and cant breathe
yes first fit, we were told this year he has approx 4mths of time left as his brain cant grow anymore hence this is the start of the downward spiral,
operation is soon now ,
that video day he was feeling fantastic hes just had oxygen , and was happily playing with his brothers for 5 mins, its so hard for me to video it it makes me so happy to watch but also so sad too, iykwim.
in general hes happy lad he knows no other life does he but hes in tremendous pain at times and his headaches are bad, he happily lies there with ice cold flannels and packs on his head he knows it feels nice.
if i can find the link and manage to put it on here il try to im hopeless at that sort of thing,
its a good website about part of his condition.

Well bit the bullet and did buy P some shoes today. I don't put anything on her at home but going to toddler group & music class and visiting people she needs something on her feet as she wants to stand up and get around. Tried all the mothercare shoes but they didn't have anything suitable. Had her measured and she is 2.5 F so had a choice of 2 pairs of shoes as they don't make many that small! All the more solid mothercare shoes started at a 3 so were too big! P has been doing really well adjusting to wearing them and stumbling around. Had about 6 steps on her own accross the living room this evening.

Got SO much housework to do before Sunday. Having people over is so stressful for me, DH does his bit but he doesn't clean to my standard IYKWIM!! So must go and clean the kitchen sink and cooker now that P is asleep!

Very self indulgent post, sorry, will try and catch up better 2moro!!

no one not one person knows where i live in nearly 3 years we moved and refused to tell anyone where we were i love it now i have a mother related no stress family, they can contact me via FB and thats it they dont have my number or mobile how cool is that. they never sent my boys cards presents xmas things anyway since they were born, that makes me sad in a way they have no family other than mummy and daddy.
i did give my mom my landline around mothers day but haver since changed it to private again. familys eh!!!!

Ponto- Hows Bryony's throat now? Abigail is still really husky and was coughing a fair bit during the night. Im going to get her some cough medicine later (Cue the nightmare of getting her to take it!) ... any recommendations? buttercup etc.

Bebe- oohh another TTC'er! (or planning to) Whats happened to us all!
P's shoes are very sweet. Abigail has 3 pairs of shoes now .. her white ones and a purply pair- Similar to P's. She also has a pair of purple and pink Boots in the next size up for winter.
Disney- Hope Sams well today.

DH has today off and we had planned a day out. Weather forcast looked ok so all was good. Typically this morning its done nothing but rain! As not to waste a day off we took Abigail swimming this morning. DH hasnt been with us for a while as we go during the week.
She loves the water and has no fear at all. She now jumps in if you stand her on the side! She really really suprised us though. We had been doing the jumping in thing and was at the side. Abigail wanted to be up on the side again and was hanging off the side. I realised that she was pulling herself up to the side without any help from me. I let go and she was climbing out all on her own! She will be holding onto the side with her feet on the side wall then flip one knee up and pull herself out!- talk about upper body strength!
We have decided to book Abigail into swimming lessons at a private school pool where they teach them to swim underwater and how to cope if you fall in the water.

bebe 2 1/2F, how cute. my bruiser of a son now has size 5F first shoes. honestly, my 7 yr olds first shoes were a size 4, and my 5yr old a 3 1/2E.

He's also, wait for it, nearly 2 stone. only on our scales. that's 28lb, isn't it. I'm buying him size 18-24 clothes. nothing petite about him. no wonder I've got a sore neck/shoulder.....

oh my word cass you got a big lad there then, samuels feet were measured last month and he isnt even a size 2 yet, hes a dinky boy, all legs and no bum whatsoever

my 8 yrs old feet are a size 8 now and hes on 3/4 year old clothes he goes into year 4 in september and his little school shorts are age 4 so i dont expect my samuel to be a bog lad either.....charlie says i may be small but i have a huge brain
cass you say he weighs nearly 2 stone well charlie weighs 2 stone 3lb....hes very tiny for an 8 year old but i am aware and the docs aware hes underweight, he also had a cleft at birth and was tube fed for many years hes supposed to be now tube fed for 12 hours a night but hes 8 and it hurts and wont let me do it only his dad can.

well we had a drama with our samuel tonight a total screaming fit rigid body terrified he was everytime we went into his room trying to put him to bed, 3 hours later and same thing would not go in his room,

so i said to dh this isnt right he cant just be like this for no reason hes not in pain cant be temper even though it seemed it

so i took him in there and we had a look around slowly he screamed at his mickey teddy, we removed it, screamed at his fluffy dog that went to, and eyeore and his hanging mobiles, then the main thing he went totally mad as when we removed these teddies underneath was the roomba and he hates that thing and is scared of it, he could see the edge poking out when lying in his cot.
problem solved poor little man were going to have a re shuffle tomorrow on his room
as they get to this age they develop there little fears and its so scary to them , bless him but hes sleeping now in a nearly bare room but if hes happy were happy.

M2L hope your ok thinking of you x

Oh, thank god you posted Disney, this had dropped off my Threads I'm on, so I would have forgotten to check for it . Sorry to hear about Sam's panic tonight, it's funny the things they get into their heads, isn't it? Orlaith loves our hoover, and makes it extremely difficult to do any vacumming with her around as she tries to climb on it.

Don't know how much she weighs or how tall she is poor NTC that she is. She's not walking yet so we're not bothering with the shoes. She has a little pair of Daisy Roots, as she was getting dreadful carpet burn on the tops of her feet witrh crawling, and the socks that that child cannot take off have not been invented yet!

Work is going OK, if I have to...... I am loving having my Fridays with the girls, though I guess it won't be quite so much fun when DD1 has to go back to school in Sept.

Things have quietened down with DH, mainly as he has been so poorly that it's not really been feaasible to have a serious discussion. He got the girls' stomach but about 100 times worse. I will still nail his feet to the floor soon, though - maybe when we're on holiday in Wales the week after next.

Oh-oh, have to go, O's grumbling. Night all

Rumpel - I am just about to finish my personal training NVQ and hope to go on to specialise in the over-50s and obesity clients. After 12 years of having a job that paid fantastically but was as boring as hell I am looking forward to having a job that pays badly but I (hope) love doing.

Mama2Leah - hope you are thinking about what your new name is going to be! I hope things went well for you.

bebe - I don't think many men clean to womens standard, they just have their own dust filter on their eyes! Hope Sunday goes well.

Pigley - hope Abigail is feeling better and you found a way to get her to take her medicine! Sometimes having an A&E doc for a DH is useful he just squirts it in A's mouth mid scream!

Disney - aww poor Samuel, you're right this is the age they develop their emotions but don't know how to control them or how to tell us!

Does anyone know where I can get a cute (but not cutesy IYSWIM) outfit for A for a wedding?

He had his 12 month jab yesterday and has been in a bit of a crabby mood since, last night at 10pm he started screaming and nothing could placate him, DH thought it might be night terrors in the end just held him (whilst he threw himself around) until he calmed down.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Libra- What about something like this? That would look pretty cute

Well Abigail took her medicine pretty well last night, some off a spoon , then the rest from a syringe... even sucking it off the syringe as I squirted! what a difference and soooooo much easier. She started the night well but woke about 4 coughing away and so full of snotty. Topped her up with medicine and eventually settled her again. Shes her usual self this morning but just full of cold

Suns out today so off for the day out we had planned for yesterday.. trip out to a National trust place.

Disney- no real answer but ive noticed Abigails arent as wet as they used to be in the mornings... Used to be massive!

Morning all

Re hoovers - I was hoovering upstairs this morning with both girls tagging along, dd1 pushing the vacuum cleaner along and 'helping' - Florence was just hanging on the back of the thing, and every time it stopped moving she stood over the bit where air comes out, closed her eyes and grinned as her hair wafted in all directions! She was loving it!

She is a very sensory and physical child and will 'dance' to any noise that is vaguely rhythmical - kettle, washing machine spinning...
the oddest thing was the other day we had Radio 4 on and there was a bit by Robert Peston - he of the weird "I..talk..very ...slowly andthenItalkveryfastjust...like this..." - and I suddenly realised F was doing a kind of bum wiggle to his voice!!!!

Very odd children I have indeed.

Also retried measuring her last night - she's so wriggly but I think she is more like 78cm.

Hope every one has a lovely day in the su - I have essays to write but just want to sort the garden out...

pigley thats interesting about the nappy issue... maybe its something that happens i guess, samuels only got 1 kidney so his wee is really yellow and quite offensive smelling as well, i might get it checked anyway.
just realised he hasnt had his 3rd jab yet
he was ill everytime and nurse refused to do it
then twice we went for it and there comps were down so we came away as they couldnt.
i better get him in asap now

I've got a day with no children so I can catch up on some work but thought I'd just have a quick MN update .

Pigley, Bryony's sore throat seems to be getting better, thanks, but she's still quite snotty.

Disney, not sure about the night time nappies - Bryony isn't usually soaking in the morning but every couple of weeks she wakes up with wet pyjamas, I think it depends on whether she's just done a wee before I put on her night-time nappy.

PJR, love the dancing! You need to video some and put it on Facebook!

Do your LOs play with toys? Bryony very rarely plays with anything as such, mostly she wanders round looking in cupboards, picks up small objects from the floor to put in her mouth and carries shoes, remote controls and other unsuitable objects around with her! The one thing she really likes playing with is the sand and water table in the garden, which I have to limit as she immediately gets soaking wet and covered in sand, despite my best efforts with a painting apron. Any tips for popular toys that might tempt her to play in the house?

I see we are coming up to the end of the thread - anyone more technical than me going to start another one?

POnto - same here with the child-free, catch up on work day - I just keep drifting back to the internet...!!

I should video more, I always forget I am rubbish! DD1 and Florence were sitting together on the rug yesterday, each with a toy mobile phone - Florence looked like she was texting and dd1 was having a long involved chat with someone - such a good photo opp and I didn't even know where the camera was!
