JODIES' SAM 74cm 18lb12oz

MINIS' ABBIE 78cm 20lb

Rumpel · 28/07/2009 20:31

Calvin hates meds too - I pin him down and force it into him with a syringe - think some of us Mums with more than one are much harsher LOL! Caught the wee monkey up 2 stairs today so stairgate must be shut now.
he has been terrible going down to sleep the past few weeks - think he may have a bit of separation anxiety - he is fine if I rub his back but if I go he screams the place down.

Incidently DHs ex is actually a nice person just me being paranoid

Nite all take care squishy hugs and slobbery x to all.

purplejennyrose · 28/07/2009 20:44

eeek!!

had a call from gp earlier and it turns out dd1 (so presumably Florence too) had salmonella!!! bit shocked... i think she may have got it from playgroup - she came home and then it started, and when i phoned them the next day they told me 3 other children were off with tummy bug....

think i'm going to have to tell them, even though it's all over now...

dh and i didn't have it, so unlikely to have been our cooking!

Rumpel · 28/07/2009 20:59

Scary stuff purple!

pigleychez · 28/07/2009 21:10

Purple- wow thats awful! So glad the girls are ok. Def tell the playgroup..sounds like they need to seriously look into their hygiene.
Pretty sure they will have to report it to the Health and Safety people too and will prob be inspected.

Bebe- yep.. Abgail has the odd explore when shes in the bath too!

Re medicine- Thats what I have to do (pin her down and squirt!) Just wish it wasnt such a battle!

Well Abigail tucked into dinner tonight so must be feeling better!

sweetkitty · 28/07/2009 21:22

bebe - aww poor wee P you have all had such a time of it recently. B not a fumbler yet but DD2 is terrible for it bless her I am sure Mums of boys would say once they find it it's the start of a love affair that lasts a lifetime

purplejenny - might not have been their cooking, toddlers aren't the cleanest little people and nurseries are hot beds for bugs, think fingers/bums/mouths/food cycle. I think pigley is right I think it is notifable (spp?) can't remember who to though might trigger an investigation

B slept through the night again last night, DD2 was up with a bad dream though at 3am. We were off at Ikea today then to the shopping centre next to it, B was getting tired and whinging in her pram and in ELC DD1 gave her this bell thing so I had to buy her it, tried to take it off her and she bawled, oh well she hardly gets any new toys.

minipinkscottish · 29/07/2009 08:03

Thanks for starting the list - very interesting xx
at playgroup PJR - you must report it - there is too much of this happening lately

Well (mini whispers) I think we are all clear of bug [fingers crossed smiley]
dh hasn't had it and he is bring very smug about it and going on about his superior immune system.....if he wasn't such a pain when he was ill I'd hope he got it

So going to try and have a sort through some stuff in attic today as I am going to have a yard sale during our village festival in 2 weeks time - wish me luck ,,,,,lord knows what lurks up there

disneystar1 · 29/07/2009 08:30

pjr how scary and i think the nursery should know it may not be an isolated case,

l add smauel to the list friday after seeing the hv, im sure he was 20lb + 2 mths ago but they do put on weight slowly around now due to there increased activity.

sk well said about boys and there life long love affair, samuel is a fiddler as soon as the nappies of his hand is down there in a shot, he laughs though little monkey, thats why on fb of his pic in the bath there was his meos insert over him, hes to old now he will just whip it of,
with boys they fiddle when free
but girls dont have to be free and my daughter when about 2 to 4 used to rock on cushions or arms of chairs, i used to have to distract her but it was shortlived and that stopped soon.
i said to samuel last week if you keep on a pullin its gonna fall of and y,all be a girl, my other boys whiped round shocked that wont happen will it mom,
i asid well y,never know smiling they just looked at each other.

Just popping in to say hi.

Aidan is growing like a weed..like Mr Calvin over there, Rumpel. Big boys! Yes mine does like to touch his business. He will play and splash and then just checks to see if it is still there, and then goes back to splashing. Silly monkey.

He can climb on the sofa now, which is frightening. Thing is he can only get down head first. So he throws a pillow down and then lands his head on it and throws his legs off the side. Mercy.

I've been looking at daycare over here, but there doesn't seem to be much work here right now..so not sure if I'll be using it or not. The cost per month is as much as a house payment but it's very nice state of the art..yadda yadda.

Purple - how frightening! I'd be having a fit just now.

Looking at a mom's day out sort of one day a week arrangement..we'll see. I need a break!

Oh my, My little baby is so small!!!!!!

OP posts:
minipinkscottish · 29/07/2009 15:44

Oh Jodie he's not small.....just wait a few years...he'll grow!! I had a wee man a long time ago and now he's 15 pushing 6 foot and playing rugby...they are all so different even within families so don't worry

Rumpel · 29/07/2009 20:36

Calvin doesn't fiddle with his yet - sure he'll make up for it in the future though.
Well lovey hair do - although Dh says it is somewhat liek that of a 16 year old NED! because of the block of blonde in the fringe. I prefer to think of it as a statement

I am sure Calvin has grown about 2cm in the last week - his face has got quite thin and he really doesn't look at all chubby - considering he is quite far ahead on the weight thing. DD was much chubbier when she was his age (yummy chubby legs and bum). I love DD's bum - I ask her if I can bite it and she shouts no! Then comes up and says 'Okay Mummy you can bite my bum now' LOL!

SK - DD was up with a nightmare last night too - ended up coming into bed with us - a spider was crawling in her hair in her nightmare - overactive imagination like me - poor wee soul

Well I may have a job in the pipeline - freelance complementary therapy teacher for Scotland. Lady down in Somerset who has an established teaching programme. I just need to look into venues and take it from there. Would be ideal for working around the kids as I can do it when I want to.

Hope everyone is well and all these bugar are receding now.

Give all those littlies a squish from me.xx

What's the latest on you TTCers?

Rumpel · 29/07/2009 20:37

Bugs not buggars

pigleychez · 29/07/2009 21:21

Thankfully Abigail seems much better today albeit a bit of a moody mare though.

Abigail had her first trip out today walking. We went to Next to return some bits and i took her into the shop walking. She loved it and looked so grown up. Thankfully we werent in a rush!
She was sooo cheeky at the tills though. She stood next to me and took my keys from my bag. She went to walk off and i said no, and asked for my keys back. She looked at me and smiled then shook her head! The lady behind the till was laughing at her.. It was just so funny! She knew exactly what she was doing...monkey!

Also took our first trip out in her Trike. Just along the road to the postbox but she loved it sitting in there.. Like the cat who got the cream. Its grey hair central in our area and she got soo many old dears cooing over her.

Mcchesers- Hope you have settled well in USA. Aiden sounds like a right little adventurer!

Rumpel- Fingers crossed this job comes off for you

Our TTC is on hold for a bit.. we are just so busy at the mo we dont have the energy!
Give a few months at it will be all systems go!

disneystar1 · 29/07/2009 22:02

pigley samuel loves his trike we were using it on the school run, only thing is when we stop hes moaning and trying to move as he doesnt like to keep still on it, he also goes ahahaha the noise you make when going over pebbles on the trike, i have to keep going in different directions so he can make the noise
went to soft play today for 3 hours boys loved it totally tired out our plan worked.

3 weeks till we go to gr yarmouth we cant wait samuel is going to love it, we all love it there just a simple sand swimming all playing together holiday, my ds4 is a keen golfer so he gets my dh to go with him

anyway of to make sure samuel is settled and happy we having an early night

then we hear him over the baby monitor hes like a warning signal, im the last im the last......ok samuel were going to sleep

disneystar1 · 30/07/2009 09:22

morning all

we need to buy a new camera can anyone help please

need advise on what you guys may have i like the actual camera as i love capturing those funny moments also long distance and views

dh needs a new kind of cam corder but to dvd ours is as old as the hills

pigleychez · 30/07/2009 10:12

Disney-

I have a Sony Cybershot for quick snaps and to just keep in my bag for those "moments"!

My birthday present- The Oylmpus E420 DSLR is fab. Quite techincal and great for arty shots, but untill you really know what to do with it then its easy to miss the perfect shot (especially with kids!) Im still learning and often grab the compact for a quick snap.

Camcorder-
Last years birthday present ( Yes DH does spoil me!) Panasonic HDC SD5. Its tiny, light and HD. The quality is great and uses SD cards so no tapes to worry about and fear of recording over something. They easily download to the pc and burn onto DVD's.

disneystar1 · 30/07/2009 19:47

thanks pigley

im having a look i was looking at that camera stangely enought but the similar nikon

purplejennyrose · 30/07/2009 21:17

Rumpel - dd1 woke from a nightmare the other week, crying out 'mummy daddy come please come'

when dh got there. she was really crying - she finally calmed down, announced dramatically 'there was a fish'
and then lay down and instantly went back to sleep. Strange child.

pigleychez · 30/07/2009 21:39

im such an idiot!!

Abigails new car seat was due to delivered today so waiting in. Call about 11.30 from the courier saying he couldnt find my house number. Turns out I have arranged for it to be delivered to my old address! My new house number but old street! The old street doesnt go up to 92 so no wonder he couldnt find it!

Gave him my new address and he delivered it but I had to go on the bottom of the list again and finally got it at 6.30..
Oh well, go for a spin tomorrow and see if she likes it

Purple- Loving the nightmare!

purplejennyrose · 31/07/2009 13:23

Ok, very very roughly I think Florence is around 75cm but that was on wall chart so prob totally wrong! and somewhere around 21 lb. Must try and get some accurate measurements soon!

TheRedSalamander · 31/07/2009 13:37

hello you crazy kids

have been lurking, hope everyone is well today.

Rumpel that job sounds promising- right up your street! Nice and flexible too.

Mcchesers- that is a lot of cash for childcare! Or are house payments over there cheaper in general than here?

Pigley you've been so busy as usual - funny tale about the old house/new house delivery, made me smile

PJR thanks for wishes about sleeping! No things not reallt improve here, we were on holiday last week though so it's bound to be all up the creek. (ha! like it was ever not up the creek!) Holiday was great though, weather so-so but was so good to be away and as we went with frinds and their tiddlers we had some great times after kids were in bed as well as family times in the day.

Just before I went on our hols I mentioned I thought I might have been pg even though I did a negative test (didn't that bring all you ttc'ers out of the woodwork )- I got my period whilst I was away but do you know I'm still not convinced! My boobs are looking rather impressively inflated, I have a nasty metallic taste in my mouth and have had what I presumed has been a sickness bug for the last couple of days (mornings ony, proper sickness too). Methinks a follow up test is required. It's just all a bit suspicious! Will be off to boots in a while.

I've also been doing a lot of thinking over the last couple of months about my job- although the pay and conditions are good it's rather unfulfilling, making minor decisions for a large company means that nothing I do really makes a difference to anything worth making a difference to- and I think I want to be a doula. Particularly in the postnatal period when I think mums needs to be wrapped up and cosetted and waited on hand foot and finger so she can spend time getting to know her new baby. Am hoping to go on a 1 day taster course later in the year to see if I think it really would suit me, and our family. Then just need to broach it with dh! Might be a bit of a mind shift for him, dw is no longer the be-suited office minx (ha!) but an airy-fairy birthing partner talking about fanjo stiches and painful norkage lol

Have a good day all x
