Hi all - SK - sorry not to mention your CP (selfish emoticon) but big squishy hugs your way and hey you are so good at making beautiful ones another will be on the way soon.xxx

My poor wee chappie has an upper respiratory tract infection - viral - so hee haw they can do. Carry on doing what I am doing - disprol/ibuprofen etc. His eardrum is inflamed too.

I am feeling like a very bad Mummy today. I am so overtired now that my patience is non existent and I have spent the day intermittently screeching then apologising to DD for my grumpiness and actually had to call DH to leave work earlier than he wanted (he was going to work late as he didn't get in to late due to lack of sleep) as I felt my temper about to show it's very ugly face . The good thing is I do know myself really well so I called him as I have a truly awful temper and didn't want to scare the kids - PMT too so that doesn't help.

I decided to have a large glass of chilled white and try to zone out and concentrate on Come Dine With Me - then Dh got in and I am feeling tearful.

I go between thinking I adore my kids and quite wanting another to thinking bloody hell how would I cope with another - I am quite impatient and short-tempered.

Anway sorry for he me me post - hope all you guys are well and get well soon vibes to Sam DISNEY.

Calvin says ta, Da Da , Mummum, and random little oo noises which are very cute. yesterday he covered his face with his hand at the high chair - moved them away and said Boo! Was very funny.

och Rumpel don't worry about it you have enough on your plate with C, hop he recovers very soon I hate it when they are ill. I to go between "what AM I doing?" to "oh what's another one"? DP all for it he has always said he wanted 4. I think part of the reason is that now MIL is not here anymore theres we have very little family around, just SIL who is great but an hour away, my brother doesn't really bother with us, my Dad is a bit rubbish and self obsessed and of course my Mum and that's it really I think hopefully the girls will all stay close and support each other. Saying that they will probably all fall out and hate each other after the teenage years.

Rumpel - don't beat yourself up we all get days like that, I have a friend who has one DD and she is always going on about how demanding she is, how she needs time off etc and how hard it is and I think "but you only have the ONE, one is easy" but everything is comparative isn't it. Anyway I hope you get to relax and chill a bit.

Disney - IF you REALLY don't want to be pregnant (and I've seen your other thread) then you are not to late for the morning after pill

Disney- Hope Sam feels better in the morning. Agree with the others to take the MA pill if you dont want to chance another bubba.

Bebe- Abigail does the telling us to say Ta too She was going round playgroup this morning pointing to the babys saying Baby.

Jodie- Sam sounds so cute. We too get Cuddles... she comes over and places her head on your lap and says "ahhh".

Rumpel- Dont feel bad... everyone has their off days. Hope Calvin gets better soon.
I used to love those sweety necklaces!

Minipink- Not currently ttc but will be soon- Im 28.

Busy day here with toddler group in the morning and then off to a friends for the afternoon.
My friend was having a clear out of her DD's outgrown toys so we now have a baby trampoline and pink baby quadbike! The house is soooo busy and cluttered at the mo... needs a major tidy tomorrow to find homes for everything!

Disney - only you can make that decision, try to imagine if you were pregnant how you would feel, if theres a part of you that would be happy then I would say go for it, if on the other hand it freaks you out and fills you with dread then down the chemist you must go.

I waver all the time lol

This might seem a bit odd, but I think P's comforter is mouldy!!!! It is this one here, she likes to suck the trunk!! It gets washed AT LEAST once a week (quite often more) but it really smells musty!!! Should I be worried about this? Think I may have to get another one as she is really quite attached to it for sleeping she has another which is normally for the car which I have substituted! Going to mothercare tomorrow to get shoes as she struggles putting her feet flat & I think it is hindering her walking, she sort of curls her toes under her foot and stands up as if on tip toes but with toes underneath IYSWIM! Just wondered if anyone else had a similar experience with the comforter thing?!

Disney - I would echo everyone else, only you can make that decision. Hope Sam is ok, saw on FB that he was poorly, sending big hugs xx

sweetkitty · 05/08/2009 12:37

Bebe - I think a good wash and hang outside in the fresh air should do the trick, lucky you I would buy about 4 is she is really attached to it as DD1 has this bunny which she loves and I have never been able to find another we couldn't allow her to take it outside in case she loses it. If you really think it's skanky I would just buy another one. B's comforter is a little pink bear but she wipes her nose on it so it is often in the wash too.

On the walking front that sounds quite normal, I have see loads of wee ones do the tip toes curled feet thing, B will not wear shoes and the minute you go to put a pair on her she does it. I think she will flatten her feet out naturally as she begins to walk more and put more weight on them. Remember by the time they are about 20 months they will all be walking and you won't remember how waslked first etc as we will be too busy chasing them

Report
bebejones · 05/08/2009 12:58

Have hung it outside, fingers crossed it doesn't start raining again!! Re walking, it's the temper tantrums because she is so frustrated and angry that are really wearing me down, hence the thought about some cruising shoes!! Although last night she walked on her own from me to DH (about 7 steps) and now she is so cross that she can't repeat it!!

This is a bit of a me me me post. DH and I decided to TTC again 2 months ago, first month was negative. This month I have been concentrating on my course and I would really like to try and get my business up and running before getting pregnant again. Last night I talked to DH who agreed, along with his own reasons, that waiting 6 months was a good idea.
However we did have unprotected sex this month around ovulation and I have to test in a couple of days and now I really don't want to be pregnant this month (despite being gutted I wasn't pregnant last month). I'm worried that if I am pregnant I am going to feel disappointed (despite the fact the child, of course will be wanted).

Rumpel - did your DD get a sweetie necklace?

DS - Your samuel is doing so well, the fact he is baby signing is impressive!

Mini - I am 33, will be 34 when next DC is born (if we concieve this month) or 35 if we wait. I also want at least 3 children so at this rate will be late 30s before I finish!

Pigley - you are always so busy!

Bebe - we were told that if a DC demonstrates any sort of attachment to a blanky, soft toy etc if possible buy at least 3 as you will lose one! When we went to get shoes for A (Jones the bootmaker) we were told there really isn't any point until they can walk properly.

mama2leah - who said this? they must have given you some more support, if not that is unbelievable. You need to talk to a doc. Good luck.

Report
sweetkitty · 05/08/2009 16:49

bebe - I think cruisers are a bit of a waste of money especially in the Summer, in the winter they are good for keeping socks on and feet warm, DD2 did have a pair, B has little shoes, sandals and baby Crocs and hasn't worn any of them, she hates them all, madam will have to get used to shoes once she starts walking and Winter is here

M2L - don't really know what you are talking about sorry but hope you are getting the support and help you need and all is well with you and the LO

Libra - I am a great believer in fate and what will be will be, hope you get the result you want in the next few days.

Rumpel · 05/08/2009 17:14

M2L - I do hope you are currently in the throws of pessaries etc in hospital ready to see your newbie in the next day or so Good Luck!

LIBRA - Nope. It was musical beds last night - Dh ended up getting a sleeping bag and sleeping on the couch at 4am! Also let's face it now you are uncertain - you will be - Sods Law - everything happens for a reason though. What business are you getting up and running - sorry if I missed your convo about it previously.

DISNEY - If I were you I would think about the fact that you all have so much ahead of you regarding Samuel. Throw being pg into the mix and it will be pretty hard going even for you - a supermom! Don't mean to be horrid but what about the Crouzons chromosome thing too - would that not factor into being pg again? Sorry if you don't want to hear that but just being forthright.
xx and hugs to Sam.

MINPINK - I was 37 in June - I would soooo have loved to have had kids earlier but life doesn't work out the way you think and I would still like another but am scared of:
feeling hellish in pg, would I cope with another? What about money - don't know how you lot with lots manage financially,
is it too much for my poor DH to cope with (am I being selfish), and what about birth defects increasing with age thing? Also major thing with me twins both sides of family - fraternals = increased chance with higher age and missed generation I go between wanting another one and not
I ams o bloody miserable when pg too and I just feel as though I am getting myu life back again IYKWIM.

oh well,

Thanks for all your kind words ladies. Calvin is much better today - although off nursery so I have been ironing and packing up to head off to Gretna Green tomorrow. We are off for 3 nights to celebrate my parents 40th Wedding Anniversay. Anyone used Moonpig before? I designed a card for them and wrote them a wee poem - great concept Moonpig.

Well must go for now as DD and Dh home soon - the day has flown in - and I need to get organised.xxxx

Rumpel - We used Moonpig to buy Phoebe's card for her Birthday, had a picture of her as a tiny 3 day old baby put on it. Brilliant concept that website I agree!

M2L - hope everythings goes ok & that you have your LO with you soon xx

Re shoes, P currently has no shoes that fit her apart from some very soft leather ones so she needs some really for going out as she can't wear the others when it's peeing it down, they were soaked through the other day and I only carried her from the car!

More is happening with the proposed development accross the road from us. They have revised plans & offered to do 'road calming' as part of the development. (Designed to win over the council) Thus placing a island directly outside my house!! Parking is restricted anyway so during the day I have to park round the corner but this would mean that no one would be able to park anywhere near their houses EVER! Not to mention the effect it would have on the resale value of our house!!! NOT HAPPY!!! The fight goes on, we now have a residents comittee!! And the parish council are also putting in an objection! Fingers crossed we manage to block it, but DH doesn't hold out much hope!

Report
disneystar1 · 05/08/2009 20:50

samuels feet are so tiny there not even a size 2 which is what they start at, he hates them anyway and throws them away at the first oppertunity and socks

bebe these developers are a world to themselves often with no heart to what our homes and neighbourhoods mean to us they invade dont they, i really hope you all get ot sorted and win your fight, so annoys me with these things at the moment do you know about the big incinerator they are trying to put on the A38 by blooms gardencentre which to you would be on the way to gloucester
well i live right near that and we are having a similar dispute here and the quedegely parish is involved too.

Bebe- Hows the comforter smelling now?!
re shoes- My sister got Clarks crawlers, cruisers and now walkers which have cost her a fortune already. No point spending out yet if its not really needed. Its actually best for P to be barefoot as much as possible at home but I can understand wanting something for outside. I got Abigail lots of different pairs from H&M. They have semi hard soles and are well priced.. about £5. She had loads
Good luck with the council fight!

M2L- Hope you are ok and will soon have your little bubba

Libra- Welcome to the TTC or almost TTC club
Hope this month turns out the way you want it to.

Rumpel- Enjoy your weekend. Yeah ive used Moonpig loads.. they are good. Our family has seen some fantastically funny personalised cards

Disney- Hope Sam is feeling abit better now.

Had another friend/old work colleague here today. Listening to her moans has made me so glad im not there now

Abigail has had a streaming nose for about a week now but today woke with a rather husky voice! Its very funny listening to her chatting sounding like a man! Her cry is also sounding very strange at the mo.

Off out with friends to the local Soft play centre in the morning.

M2L, hope things are going well for you and looking forward to seeing your birth announcement soon.

Disney, was that the first time Samuel had had a fit? I was looking at your FB video the other day and he looked so alert sitting up and playing with his brothers, it's hard to believe he has such a lot of medical treatment in front of him.

Haven't posted for a while as we were on holiday in Cornwall last week, which was great fun despite the weather. We made it to the beach a few times but Bryony found it quite hard going - she was toddling round, falling over, then sucking her thumb which was covered in sand, which made her cry. Every time I cleaned her up she went through the same process again and again! I'm meeting up with a friend tomorrow and we were going to have a daytrip to the beach but I don't think I can face it - will go to a nice park instead.

Bryony has one pair of shoes, a pair of Clarks cruisers, which I bought for dd1 and dd2 also wore, so they have turned out to be good value for money despite the exorbitant cost at first! I have found Clarks to be very good for the older girls, they do cost more but they usually last until they're grown out of, rather than falling apart after a few weeks, which is what's happened when I've tried buying cheap shoes from elsewhere (one afternoon at the park has ben all it took in some cases!)

Pigley, I've got a husky baby too. I've been giving her Calpol as she's been a bit grumpy, though not hot, I thought maybe she had a sore throat.

Rumpel, I think if you feel you want another baby that feeling probably will get stronger with time so you may be best off getting on with things now (easy for me to say as I'm not the one with the family history of twins ).

Work is very busy at the moment and I'm meant to be online preparing for my annual appraisal tonight but have got distracted by MN, FB, etc. Is it possible to block specific sites? It might be the only way I can resist temptation and get some work done!

Disney - thats so awful about the incinerator! Keep protesting! What makes this worse for us is the 'developer' is the woman who owns the B&B, she has made a ridiculous above the odds offer to the adjacent house which she is proposing to tear down!! Don't know how well you know Cam but it's the B&B near Tesco as you go up towards the school. It's just so awful to think of them destroying these beautiful old properties, will completely ruin the area IMO.

I really just need some decent shoes for P going out places. Have bought 'cheaper' ones before & they have never fitted her or stayed on properly. She has very narrow heels and wider toes & can get all bar the soft leather ones off! Most of the time I just say she is 'my little gypsy' as she hardly ever has shoes or socks on! (She particularly hates socks, and gets them off in seconds, very funny watching her trying to get tights off in the same way!!) Have had some weird looks in Tesco & in-laws always comment about her being barefoot when we go round there, even though we see them pretty much every week, it's not exactly new!!

Pigley - comforter has been washed twice today, and dried on the washing line outside...still smells a little odd to me despite copious amounts of fabric softner! P was very unsettled at bedtime so I had to give it to her anyway & she was asleep within about 5mins! Funny how something so silly helps her settle! Will be getting another one (maybe 2) at mothercare tomorrow all being well! If it wasn't constantly soggy where she chews it I don't think it would have started smelling weird.

Contemplating TTC after Xmas, but need to avoid a Nov, Dec & Jan baby as way way too many birthdays/events around then!! Which kinda means get PG in Jan or wait til May! Baby will be planned with military precision!!! Well, as much as one can plan for this sort of thing!!

Report
minipinkscottish · 06/08/2009 07:44

M2L - thinking about you honey

Disney - hope Samuel is a bit better today.

Rumpel - I was 39 when Abbie was born (10 days before my 40th) and it was a bit scarey.....she was 5 weeks early and pg was a much more difficult than the others. I also had a slightly increased risk of downs in the double test due to my age.
If I was to get pg again I would not have the double test because I went through hell trying to decide whether to have an amnio or not...decided not. I know I would accept my baby whatever so would not test. But I will not be pg again... although I will be constantly broody I think 6 is enough

Had a fab day out yesterday at a "Play in the Park" event run by the local council. Lots of fun and activities for the lo's and lots of "safe" adults around to help.
