Love the new thread title Jodie! Very apt indeed.

Disney- would love to come to Sams party. Thanks for invite! Hope his breathing is better at the mo.

ANyone heard from TJuice? I messaged her on FB recently as not heard from her on here have we and last I think I recall, she was worried about Elodie being really thirsty all the time. Hope all is well with you TJ if you are in Lurk mode x

I'm another slattern when it comes to washing. The European Washing Mountain lives in our bedroom, I think it's because we have so many clothes nowadays (well I do anyway, but still none that I really want to wear!)

We had a lovely day out yesterday at Bristol Zoo, DH managed to get a day off and it was proper family time, wonderful. Took a picnic which I think ds1 was more excited about than the zoo . It was lovely and quiet there, not too busy at all and we had a great day trekking round. Louis even slept pretty well because of the fresh air which was a bonus!

The clocks going forward have been great for us, L was doing everything an hour earlier than I liked so I've not changed his routine (if you can call it that) and so far things have worked well. Went to bed at 7.30 last night, woke at 3 for a feed, and then woke again for the day at 6.45! Amazing! Fresh air rocks.

Just had a call from a colleague also on maternity leave wanting to know if I fancied doing something like a job share. Not even considered it before so am a little bit excited today at the thought of being able to be more part time than the 34 hours I was doing before. DS1 goes to school in Sept and Iwould like to be able to pick him up from school so this might be a good option. Just need to get dh to agree now ;)

Anyone doing mid morning/afternoon snacks? L prob needs them now but I'm struggling for inspiration. Any ideas ladies?

Is it just me or is anyone else still feeling the effects of the clocks changing at the weekend?

I'm ready to hit the hay now

Poledra - lol at your poo problems this morning!

Libralady - I am pooped since Sunday, don't really know if the hour is to blame or not. Bring your friend over; more the merrier. i never got along with the june thread, did try as poppy was a june birth.

Looks like Christmas here because I've got all the next stage baby toys out of the loft. The 2 ds (age 4 and 5) have been having fun with baby shape sorters!

Evening..

Woo hoo! One more load then the washing basket will be empty! ready to be filled again but at least I can think keep on top of it.
Just the ironing to do now

poledra- Dont you just hate poo's like that! Abigail always manages to get it either up her back or out the leg, resulting in new trousers, vest or both!

Red- Exciting news about the possible new job.

Bought a Travel cot for Abigail today. The idea being that her cot can be dismantled the night before the move to save doing it at 8am on move day and can be used as a safe place to pop her during the move instead of the removal guys tripping over her!
Had a play and nap in it to get used to it today. Also need it for our holiday to Great Yarmouth in Sept anyway.

Not sure if its the clocks to blame or more Abigail being wide awake at 5am but im another knackered one! Ywaning my head off tonight. Intended to do the Ironing but really cant face it.... Sadly it will still be there tomorrow!

disney - that's horrible

pigley - glad you are on top of the washing, we have a travel cot, Bethany very rarely sleeps in it not but now she is moving it's good to plonk her in and keep her safe if I need to hang out the washing for example. Only thing about them is the mattress bit is usually quite hard and thin, I have a folder double duvet with a fitted cot sheet wrapped around it and a v shaped pillow in there so she can sit up and play with her toys.

Isaidno - I did the same thing a few weeks ago got all the shape sorters etc down and the DDs had great fun, I'm having problems with DD2 still in that whatever B gets ahold of she takes off her.

Redsalamander - great news about the job and the clock change

Poledra - in a way it's glad to know it's not just me, Bethany went to bed at just before 8 and got up again just before 9, had to feed her again and she has gone off again but for how long who knows

bebehones - your Christening photos are lovely, P looked adorable

Disney your poor DH what a terrible shock!

I hear you all on the poos that leak...P is an expert!!

She slept in a travel cot at my mums, I did think the matress bit was hard but she didn't seem to mind!!

Don't think the clock change has helped me, feel rubbish. Am so tired I just hurt all over. P is really really clingy to me at the moment I can't leave her for a second or she just gets hysterical, sobbing & shaking, tears streaming down her face! Takes ages to calm her down Really upsetting for DH coz she just keeps on going if he picks her up & she sobs 'Mumma' & reaches for me She is SO vocal & is very understanding when you say things to her or do things. She is so lovely when I go into her first thing & after naps to wake her, I pick her up & she lies on her changing table saying 'Mum mum mum mum', its the only other time she says it! Other than that its 'Dadadada' or 'Bob bob bob' or 'ta-ta' if Jaffa is around. She started doing a 'Ka' sound at the weekends when we pointed out my mums cats though, & she makes the same noise when you say thank you but it is more the intination than word sounds.

Must go to bed now, sorry for the waffle!!

Sweet kitty & Poledra I must join you in the ranks of babies who wake up whenever they feel like it and like to feed randomly through the night! ALthough the clock change has suited his daytime happenings it's made bugger all difference to his night time shenanigans. 4 times last night, although I think his first tooth could be on the way! (DS1 was walking and talking well before his first one arrived at 15 months. Lovely gummy toddler he was!)

It's a pre-school morning here so will be rushing around v shortly trying to get book bags/play clothes sorted. I'm so disorganised at the moment, just can't keep on top of the housework at all. DH is paying all the bills at the mo (normally 50/50) so I feel like I should be doing all the housework in return. But finding that v hard .

hi ladies

thanks for the shout, salamander.
We are okay but have been in the UK for weeks and just got back to Copenhagen. Was supposed to just be there a week but my Dad got ill and had to go to hospital, was there for a while. So we stayed longer to help my mum nurse him back to health. He is much better now but we were scared there for a minute. Just glad I was there at the time to help out and support my mum and of course, Elodie was a great distraction for both of them.

Elodie is so big now and I can see the baby-ness is fading - she is getting quite toddler-ish. Still no crawling but she is very good at "finger-walking" with our help. Still into shakey, musical toys, xylophones, etc and loves her wooden blocks. She is still sleeping 12 hours, which is great.

I am getting into work mode now and have a small meeting this morning. DH is taking E to nursery for the first day - only an hour this morning. We both start properly on 15th April but have this long induction period. I stopped b/f and lost some weight on the hardcore cabbage soup (poop!) diet so treated myself in the UK to some new clothes and shoes, had my highlights, eyebrows, toes and bikini line done which is shocking to actually feel groomed for once!

Anyway, hope you are all well. Sorry to hear about your DH's relative, disney - that is horrendous.

bebe - amazing that P is being so vocal! E is still making indiscrimate noises

sk - how you feeling now? hope the medication is taking the edge off. bethany sounds like such a little character!

pigley - good luck with the move. you'll soon be happily ensconced in your new home, that will be lovely. Its just the inbetween bit that is a nightmare, right?

salamander - good luck with the job share, that sounds great. I am so happy that I work part-time (25 hours) but I will have to continue to freelance on the side for a while. My dh starts his medical internship at Malmø hospital in June and I am wondering what the hours will be like. I know that they don't work house doctors to the bone like they do in the UK and US but he may have some long shifts.

better get ready.
best wishes to everyone

Report
Poledra · 01/04/2009 12:49

Disney of course you are allowed to say no. That's Sam's CB - you need it for him. I know it's hard but your DD is an adult now, and needs to take on her adult responsibilities. (DH and I get cross at his sister for the same sort of thing, always expecting their parents to help her out).

Off to hang out my second load of washing, it's a beeyootiful day here

You need sams CB and dead right not to give her the money. As to what to do i dont know. Stay calling around try and get into the house and see what is going on for yourself? Could you et it out of your son as to what is going on? Its never easy with kids is it, i have all that to go through yet.
Hang in there keep as close as you can.

Lovely day here too, I feel V cold think it due to lake of sleep though.

Crack cocaine you can smoke and cocaine is snorted. Tough love is needed disney. Would you call the social services? (not an easy step or one you would do) or try and deal with it yourself? My heart goes out to you, no mother wants to see there daugher doing drugs.
Could you take her into leaving him?

Report
disneystar · 01/04/2009 14:46

momma il deal with it.....
got to be crack cocaine then as i found loads of lighters some broken and many many inhalers just the plastic bits ventolin removed in a drawer plus foil in the same drawer.
explains why theyve spent the deposit money

i may sound harsh here but all im concerned about is my lovely g,son and g daughter.
they the adults can fend and make there own choices, the babies cant.

anyway got to collect my boys from school now then its rush and cook dinner as usual ......

Evening everyone just having 2 minutes whilst dinner is finishing off, been making Easter bonnets all afternoon, still not finished. Have a headache too couldn't sleep last night finally fell asleep about 12.30am then little madam was up loads just whinging wanting boob then back to sleep, very draining.

Tjuice - lovely to hear from you, glad all is well, sorry to hear about your Dad though. Thanks for asking after me, the medication isn't helping at all I have had the dose increased so we will see.

disney - sounds like you are having a time of it with your DD and her BF, I wouldn't give her money at all, spend it on the kdis instead, clothes and toys or even arrange an internet shop for her so at least they have food on the table, good for you meeting another mum as well x

Momma23 - aww sounds like you ahd a big clearout want to come and do my house next? Glad the girls were OK in their beds, I have that bridge to cross soon

redsalamander - sorry you are a member of the human dummy club too, I know it's what babies should do etc feed through the night and it's for comfort but sometimes you want to scream get off me. I know she is not hungry it's purely comfort but still

Right best be off again, DP is out on the trampoline with the big two and I am suppsoed to be tidying upstairs and putting washing away.

Hello,

Disney- Blimey lady...You dont have it easy do you?!
what a tricky situtation to be in with your DD. Id stick with not giving her the money.. She needs to learn that money needs to be better spent than on drugs. ((hugs))

Tjuice- good to see you back. Sorry to hear about your Dad but glad hes on the mend now.
Good to hear E is doing well. Wasnt she due an Op soon?

Momma- Glad the first night went well

Sorry to hear about all these restless babies. So draining isnt it
Abigail actually did well last night only waking once for a feed. She did do this before for about a week before it went belly up again. Fingers crossed for a repeat performance - especially as im not feeling tip top tonight.. Just hoping its not the start of something as I cant be ill for the move

Bad mummy here tonight. Had Curry for dinner. It didnt seem to hot so Abigail shared it with us and she happily tucked in for a good 10 minutes. Either the aftertaste or a spicy bit got her and she had tears and kept rubbing her mouth. Thankfully a nice cold yoghurt helped sooth her mouth.

Going to get her weighed tomorrow as she seems to have grown loads lately... Height as well as width!
