hi sazzles lovely to hear from you! i applaud your decision re G&T or boot camp quandary!
weeing in pool=passable
pooing in pool=not so passable!

Expectant · 18/03/2009 04:46

So lovely to see you all on fb - thanks Dizzy.

Sazzles glad you're enjoying yourselves.

lwfh our dr also wanted to give Sam a flu jab but undecided as yet.

Frog Leg Congee (rice porridge) is a bit of a local delicacy here - not going to inflict it on DS just yet though

DH off work today after a few too many pints of the black stuff last night. Oh and we now have a nice collection of large green hats....I thought my student days were over!

sambo303triesforScotland · 18/03/2009 07:37

hi sazzles my you look tanned. I second that G&T decision, you are on holiday n'est pas?

hmm expectant frog leg congee for breakfast? Tres exotique

lwfh I have not been offered the flu jab for ds - I think they only do over 60s (?) in the winter here

We started a new strategy with ds last night out of desperation really - dp is to settle ds in his room and if that does not go well, I will feed him or we'll bring him into bed with us. So far ds has yet to wake up in his own room but was definitely teething from about 5pm last night with really red cheeks and his cheeks and head were very hot so we felt really sorry for him. At this rate we will be sharing a bed til he's 5 On a positive note, after a feed at 11pm, I only fed him once during the night - dont know what time but may have been late on as he's not hungry yet. The previous 2 nights I have fed him (back to sleep ) 5 times so I hope dp will discourage him from waking for food.

hotterpotter · 18/03/2009 08:50

Sambo STOP BLUSHING!!! You have nothing to be ashamed of, this is NOT your fault, your DS WILL sleep through at some point I promise . My DS is not sleeping through yet either, but there is a definite improvement on a month ago. Not surprised considering the amount he eats, greedy pig . You will get there in the end, and in the meantime just thank your greater power of choice that you have a super-kingsize bed

LWFH I love West Wing too. I like Josh, Will is a bit wet for me, has to be Sam Seabourn (Rob Lowe, swoon). I would swap my DH for him any day

Sazzles glad you're having a good time

Expectant did you go out boozing too? Lucky girl if you did!

No1 hope DD is a bit better today. Fingers crossed.

Better go and sort out DS. He (and the floor) currently covered in jam and banana

PetitFilou1 · 18/03/2009 09:14

Right am going to be a bit cheeky

Anyone with little girls (not the really los, the bigger sort) interested in a whole collection of mini Boden t shirts bought last Summer but never worn? I have pale pink, bubblegum pink, yellow, pale blue and cornflower blue. They are 3-4 yr size but already don't fit dd who is 99.5cm tall and long in the back - how annoyed am I?

Actually the pink ones have been worn a couple of times but the others not at all.

Otherwise I will ebay them!

Hope all well this morning - Toby decided to get up at 5.45am so I'm knackered

cyteen · 18/03/2009 09:23

Morning all

Shockingly Joe slept from 7.30pm to 3am last night I think that's the first time he's ever skipped his 11ish wake up. Even more intriguingly, he started stirring as we were going to bed, as he always does, and we exchanged weary glances thinking 'here we go'...and then he just carried on sleeping! I wonder whether a 6pm tea of savoury flapjacks had anything to do with it?

Either way, I feel pretty good apart from the grim headachey side effect of having been grinding my teeth all night So allow me to lay out a mammoth breakfast spread of blueberry pancakes, fruit salad, yoghurt, drop scones, pikelets with honey and of course vats of strong tea (and I suppose some coffee for those freaks who enjoy it).

longway no flu jab offered here, but then my brother had to fight his GP for one even though his oncologist had directed him to have one after all the chemo had weakened his immune system so I think a lot of GPs are more the ask-and-you-shall-receive kind. DS seems in rude health at the moment so I'm happy to go without unless otherwise directed.

Back shortly, nappy explosion!

AnnVan · 18/03/2009 10:10

Morning everyone! We had a pretty good night last night. Littleman slept 9.40-8.30 !
Sambo don't blush at the feeding to sleep - I feed Seb to sleep. You do what works.

Hp yup I went out boozing too little man must have had his first taste of Guiness too as he decided it would be a good idea to wake up in the night (we'd had 3 or 4 nights of 7-5 or 5.30am) and I couldn't settle him so had to feed - Sambo still with you on the feeding to sleep.

He's asleep now so fingers crossed. See you all in the morning.

cyteen · 18/03/2009 12:45

quiet on here today. don't tell me you're all out having a life!

i am terribly broody at the moment

AnnVan · 18/03/2009 12:54

cyteen I'm here! Just managed to have a shower FINALLY. Haven't managed it since the weekend Have also put some laundry in. Now need to do yet more washing up.
Hoping my prospectuses arrive today.
Why so broody?

cyteen · 18/03/2009 13:01

god knows, think it's just 'body broodiness' iyswim - the me part of me is thinking 'noooooooooo, enjoy DS, take some holidays, live in the now!' but my ovaries are muttering 'procreate'

don't worry, i'm not planning to act on it (although more sex would be nice).

so what MA you looking at?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 18/03/2009 13:13

lol cyteen I am always broody.
but not much sex here.

ann I too have just managed a shower and hair wash.

I called nhs direct for advice last night re dd temp.
They sent a paramedic to check her over, who then called for ambulance.
So panic mode of not being able to get in touch with dh at work, called my lovely dad to come and stay with Marcus.
I was happy to monitor at home and continue with calpol/neuofen, but they insisted she go in and be checked over, as they were concerned about her reaction to the light, and her being lethargic.
She brightened up somewhat when we were there. (as they do )
Turns out she has tonsillitis (sp?)
eventually got home after midnight, dad didnt want to add additional stress by telling me Marcus woke and refused a bottle but fed off me like he was starving when I got home.little bugger. Within half hour of being home Claudia temp up again and looked shocking.
Had a rough night.
She wont eat anything at all I have just managed to get them both down for a nap together so maybe she might eat when she gets up

It really is me me me lately isnt it.
Very sorry, but thanks for listening/reading/advising.

sambo really don't feel bad. I feed ds to sleep all most of the time.

alittlebitshy · 18/03/2009 13:23

no1 what a shocking evening. Glad she is reasonably ok.

sambo I feed ds tp sleep at some naps and in the night - though he has got better at going down awake at all times, just not predictable except at bedtime. I don't feel there's anything to worry about . They're still so tiny (iyswim)....

AnnVan · 18/03/2009 13:24

cyteen lol at ovary messages.
I'm looking at history or modern history for an MA. What's your subject? (sorry if you've said before and I've missed it)
no1 your poor DD. Tonsillitus is just awful Can't blame her for not wanting to eat. It feels like swallowing razor blades with tonsillitus.

PetitFilou1 · 18/03/2009 13:54

cyteen sure you aren't ovulating?

no1 ds1 has had tonsillitis a couple of times. I wouldn't expect her to eat properly for a few days. Try the obvious like icecream, yoghurt, jelly etc if you want to get fluids and calories in. But if she doesn't eat I really wouldn't worry about it - she'll put it back on afterwards. They always do......

Toby being a complete bugger today. He has hardly eaten anything. He is SO like his brother. dd took to weaning no problem. With Toby it is bucketloads one day and none the next. Today is a none day.

poppysocks · 18/03/2009 14:35

Oh No1 what a horrible fright for you and DD. Hope she's had (is still having?!) a good nap and you can rest a bit too. Glad your Dad was on hand to help.

pf - Could I be cheeky and say I'd be v. interested in the tops? How much do you want for them? Was just moaning to Dizzy this morning about how many tops DD1 is getting through at the moment with her painting obsession and careless eating so she's in a Tesco/Asda uniform generally, but it'd be nice to have some better ones for non-nursery days.

Gorgeous day here and lovely trip to the Park with dizzy and her lovely DDs 2&3. No-one there to mug us at the gate, so a free pass was enjoyed by all and both girls now zzzzing.

What's your area of interest ann? 'Tis my subject too.

dizzydixies · 18/03/2009 14:43

No1 am so sorry the wee one still isn't great but am delighted they seemed to take all the appropriate steps necessary to diagnose her - don't feel bad about keeping her dosed up if necessary and loading her up on ice cream if it helps and PLEASE don't apologise for the me me me, its not how we work on here at all

cyteen if you're that broody then you need a trip up here, me and my girls are possibly the BEST for of contraception ever as once you've seen the perpetual chaos we live in you'll quickly backtrack! Either that or I'll have to get pg too to keep you company of course

pf if no other takers I'd love the t-shirts, what can I give you for them?

*VG how would DS1 feel about the matching t-shirts?! I must admit I tend to shy away from it unless a special occassion with all the aunties in tow but I DO find myself dressing them in similar styles seeing as I'm the one picking all the clothes iyswim?

sazz get off the fecking computer and back to the beach!!!! Am delighted you're having a lovely holiday and it IS quiet on here without you [sniff] but still, its the beach for goodness sake!!

it is BRILLIANT weather up here, sorry for shouting but it happens so rarely! Poppy and I met at the park which was deserted but for another couple with a young boy and the two girls ran about whilst Dylan and Poppy's DD2 were carried/pushed etc - lovely

then kindly invited back to Poppy's lovely home whereby both of mine pooped, refused to eat and turned the house upside down will not be surprised in slightest if not invited back

off to collect DD1 from school, everyone enjoy your day (god, now I sound like I'm from Burger King or something - ketchup with that?!?!)

dizzydixies · 18/03/2009 14:45

x post poppy!!!

craigtoun park here Poppy, check out the opening hours, no wonder we were the only ones there

poppysocks · 18/03/2009 15:03

LOL Dizzy. Both an hour and a month early! Was great to see you too. Glad L had a sleep on the way home. M pretended but SO didn't.

Oh, and I'll fight you for pf's tops!

dizzydixies · 18/03/2009 15:32

lol. shall bow out gracefully as DD2 has some of DD1's she can wear

Dylan now awake and sucking the life out of a pear as if she's never been fed in her life!!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 18/03/2009 15:40

Thanks.
Both slept 2 hours, I dozed for an hour on bed with dd as obviously she kept waking.
Going to try and tempt her with something like yoghurt or ice cream
Made some BM lollies for ds (mumsicles) I believe they are called. Bit of cheesy name, maybe bit gross, but apparently good for teething and healthy too

dizzy and poppy glad you both had a lovely day. The sun has been shining all day, however I have not been out today.

vg I have some gorgeous boden t shirts for ds. They wash really well too. In fact he has the teddy bear coat which has lovely thick striped lining.

PetitFilou1 · 18/03/2009 16:15

Glad I've got some takers

poppy

Haven't thought very hard about it but I bought them in the sale so didn't pay full price (I balk at paying £8 for a t shirt!). They are very nice quality and will last for more than one child, but they are plain (the reason I buy lots is because I find it so hard to get plain girls tops)

Can I email you a picture? The ones they are selling this season are slightly different in style.

PetitFilou1 · 18/03/2009 16:31

Was it plain ones you wanted? Will email both you and dizzy if you like ......
