I wonder why people have PND with one baby but not with another. Don't feel guilty, if I could SHOUT one instruction from the rooftops for every mother on the planet to hear it would be STOP FEELING GUILTY. Of course I feel sooooo guilty myself about so many things but it is the most corrosive, destructive and unhelpful thing. Who was it who said we can never be perfect parents but we can be good enough?

And the pop psychology spot was brought to you by O Conaill's Chocolate of Cork, and Twining's Earl Grey.

Oops sorry about the replay.

vg I think we have only finally bonded properly recently so ds1 has only just decided that I am, in fact, quite good as mums go. Goddess would be stretching it though I think! I am getting more hugs and (unsolicited) kisses than ever before. It is lovely! AND his teacher said he was 'a delight to have in the class' yesterday (smug emoticon)

and dizzy I don't think the guilt ever goes away - but I think as long as the relationship recovers later then things will be ok in the long run. Perennial guilt is the joy of motherhood, is it not......

dizzydixies · 17/03/2009 20:44

vg am afraid I rather overdid it with the TV chefs for a while so haven't indulged in Heston B Mistresses comes highly recommended by a friend of mine BUT I admit to sky + watching stuff at my leisure and tonight is DH catching up with Heros

I quite like it but even more so I am loving the Fleetwood Mac soundtrack tonight

PetitFilou1 · 17/03/2009 20:45

vg x posted but without the sponsorship

GreenGardenia · 17/03/2009 20:47

Oh that is lovely! I wonder is it to do with having a taste of the outside world (=school) and realising, in comparison, how warm and gorgeous and steady your home and your familiars are. Too right to be smug about his teacher's comment! I would be too.

Hmmm will have to confer with dp, no doubt he will groan over both my suggestions...

GreenGardenia · 17/03/2009 20:48

pf yours was the BBC version no ads.

PetitFilou1 · 17/03/2009 20:50

I vote Heston

PetitFilou1 · 17/03/2009 20:51

I think it may be too late for me to bring the washing in now....... what do you think (peers into blackness of garden)

dizzydixies · 17/03/2009 20:52

leave it, let it 'air'

GreenGardenia · 17/03/2009 20:52

So did dp, while groaning.

GreenGardenia · 17/03/2009 20:53

Are you mad? There might be baddies, ghosts or eerie noises. Leave it and come and watch the Tudor extravaganza.

PetitFilou1 · 17/03/2009 20:57

dizzy I think I will - my legs won't move

vg Heston cracks me up - he was born in the wrong time -everyone else is doing the 'ready in 20 minutes after work supper' and there he is gilding a 10 year old quails egg after freezing it (three times) and warming it to precisely 6.7 C and flavouring with jus of Canadian mountain sorrel

dizzydixies · 17/03/2009 20:59

thats how we eat in this house every night pf is it not that same in the Filou household?!?

PetitFilou1 · 17/03/2009 20:59

longwayfromhome · 17/03/2009 23:10

Hello everyone,

I really liked ataraxis and hotterpotter talking about the frog rescue services that they have going in their gardens but then you go and ruin it by talking about frog blancmange.

We are still very much enjoying the west wing on DVD and the video shop are getting to know us quite well after a season and a half. It's just the right distnce from the house for a bit of a potter with DS to get the next disc, have a look at the shops on the way and back home in time for a nap.

PS those of you who watch the west wing, who do you fancy? My sister says that Josh Lynam is the bees knees, but I think that although he's a bit of a prat, Will is quite cute.

PPS the paediatrician said today that because we go swimming DS should have the flu jab? Do your babies get the flu jab, or just over here?

PPPS of course fictional politicians are not a patch on my real life DH, but just wondering (digging myself out of a hole here)

Must go and cook

Oh and the clocks changed again so we are 3 hours apart now
