Ooh Steaky what a nightmare. What's she like on her front? And have you tried dropping a muslin over her face when you put her down? Kurt's a tummy sleeper, seems to feel more secure/comfy with his face hidden so the teatowel trick works often. Maybe she uses your boob as a shield from the world?

LoveBuckets · 25/03/2009 20:12

Parkour lessons haha - don't think there's an HR dept in the country that could afford the insurance for that. All those twisted ankles add up to mucho sick leave and where there's blame there's a claim...

VG - sweat lodge is where a whole load of men sit under a tarpaulin tent in the dark they add loads of hot stones and pour water on them. They all sit and sweat and it should bring them 'enlightenment' but it often just brings grumpy sweaty smelly men. AKA primitive man sauna!

PetitFilou1 · 25/03/2009 20:20

None of the above - he has spent the day, yes the DAY, being 'colourised'. Now he know that navy suits him (I could have told him that), his pink ties are a Good Thing and his trousers are the wrong colour. So that's alright then.

PetitFilou1 · 25/03/2009 20:24

steak My trick re getting Toby off the boob is to lean forward - if he's really asleep and I lean forward enough it just pings out. I have also been known to do the little finger in the side of the mouth to unlatch him when he is just using me as a dummy - I can tell as he isn't swallowing anymore just kind of chomping

Steaknife · 25/03/2009 20:25

MIL succeeded in ten minutes! Baby now sound asleep (GAH local dogs just took up the evenings bark-a-thon)

DD doesn't like to be on her tummy and is usually quite a good sleeper. She usually nods off on the boob gets settled into cot, has abit of a wake up ten mins later and either feeds or is walked back to sleep and then thats it till the first feed of the night.
Which can be any time between 10.30 and 2, then second feed between 3 and 5. Sometimes even just one feed.

You know I worked it out that if you assume an average of 2 feeds a night I've got up over 400 times in the last 7 months.

She has slept through on 2 occassions, but the first of those DH was out and came home at 4 and woke me up anyway. Can't remember the second time but I do know it happened.

I now realise that this means we can't move into the new flat next week and that we will have to live with the French-in-laws FOREVER! just so that MIL and her magic hands are on call.

Steaknife · 25/03/2009 20:28

PF - NO WAY!

How on earth does that relate to managing things or people - other than managing to not look like a tramp at work.

ooh and I would lurve to do parkour.

oopsacoconut · 25/03/2009 20:30

okay now it's my turn- WTF is parkour?

TwilightSurfer · 25/03/2009 20:31

no1, pertelote did an excellent job of restating your doctor's note. very very odd that they sent it too you in what is obviously non-layman terms. my mom was a medical research secretary at the local teaching hospital..she use to have to translate like pertelote.

sazzles' flight takes off in three hours. let's all send out positive vibes for a smooth flight and happy (sleeping) babes.

reese has fussed ALL DAY LONG. i think we are teething again.

dinner: baked lime chicken, black beans and rice. btw the rice will be cooked the way sazzles dh taught me. we did a lot of food prep idea trading during our vaca.

oh and reese is crawling all over the place. she's happiest on the ground moving. she wants to catch up with theo & sam i think.

I know, it is hilarious isn't it.

The course is a year long and is for those people who are likely to be future leaders of the NHS. He is away for several days every month doing it. So don't worry you lot as your future hospital Chief Executive WILL be wearing nice trousers (that suit him)

He has also done Media Training (translation: how to put your hands together whilst making a point and not pick your nose when in front of a camera etc etc)

Steaknife · 25/03/2009 20:37

Parkour is running and jumping for grown-ups.

Invented by some bored Frenchies as a way to get fit. Also known as free-running.

There was a very cool free-run London programme a few years ago. Fit fellas jumping all over HMS wotsit in the Thames and all.

on youtube

pf ROFL at your DH doing Colour Me Beautiful - that's the gayest thing I've ever heard!

PetitFilou1 · 25/03/2009 20:50

cyteen I KNOW but the scariest thing is that he LIKED it

all the politicans have done it you know. seems to be some sort of rite of passage ...or something

Steaknife · 25/03/2009 20:51

Calpol - the French version is a supository (spelling) and I refuse to adminster, DH has to do those.

No her naps were abit rubbish, so yes normal.
15 mins in the morning after feeding to sleep, about the same in the afternoon so I took her out in the buggy and she managed another half an hour.

It's nearly 10 here and she had her bath at 6.30. What a disaster.

PetitFilou1 · 25/03/2009 21:00

Goodness me can't we just post you some of the normal stuff (sorry I know that won't help this evening)???

Can you chuck her in the car and drive her round (my dad used to do this with me in desperation when I was a baby)

PetitFilou1 · 25/03/2009 21:11

Right I'm off to phone a RL friend

See you all in the morning

steaky Sending your lo sleep vibes
