Boo!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cyteen · 23/03/2009 10:51

albs yeah, just a normal milky sick I think. He's been much less pukey since starting solids so it caught me by surprise a little bit.

CaptainCaveman · 23/03/2009 10:59

ello ello ello! This work malarkey is getting right in my MN way . That said, I am taking a 5 min break from work to say hello to my virtual friends .

No hope of catching up on a weeks worth of posts, but I hope everyone is ok?

Nothing new to report from me

CaptainCaveman · 23/03/2009 11:02

ALBS have you put the fastenings on the tighter settings and hoiked the straps shorter? I went for a re-fitting (bravissimo) and she simply adjusted my bra. Apologies if I am teaching you to suck eggs .

cyteen · 23/03/2009 11:09

Hi CC! What's it like being back in grown-up land? How is O doing at nursery and are you still feeding him?

SibhaShillelaghUnderYourArm · 23/03/2009 13:38

Ello CC. Good to hear from you.
Work is very over-rated you know.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words about yesterday's debacle. VG - that was it exactly: always putting them first and then suddenly losing control over keeping them safe was the scary bit.

I'm supposed to be making a doctor's appointment now for later in the week. My eye still feels sore and the top of my head too, but apparently that's all accounted for by this inflamed super-orbital nerve thing, and the face bits would be another nerve ... I've got a small cold, and I never get one so it could be a viral thing. I think alas my chances of getting cast in Grey's anatomy are poor as I can't remember any of the lingo at all.

DD2 is about to get stuck again - she is trying to crawl with her legs standing and it is a technique that's very hard on her fizog or 'faisheen' as they say in these parts. She is a trier, God love her.

cyteen · 23/03/2009 13:45

everyone else's babies are so adventurous! Joe is still not even rolling. although he is happier to spend time on his tummy these days and is quite adept at creeing round in a circle

he's very down in the mouth today not hungry for solids, not happy to play, not smily...he keeps looking at me like he wants me to do something that will make it better, but i don't know what it is

Sibh this is probably a v unhelpful thing to say but my SIL had repeated bouts of optic nerve inflammation which eventually led to her being diagnosed with MS. i had no idea that this can be one of the early symptoms so thought i would throw it into the ring. obviously i am not suggesting you have MS, indeed i fervently hope not, but i think funny turns of any similar kind are worth investigating thoroughly as they are unusual.

sorry for probable tactless/senseless post, am typing 1-handed + trying not to wake sleeping baby on lap

cyteen · 23/03/2009 13:46

creeping not creeing

SibhaShillelaghUnderYourArm · 23/03/2009 13:52

Not tactless at all Cyteen. It was on my mind too. I have a friend who has it at the moment. I think having it in mind and working to rule it out is a better approach than ignoring it. Right I will ring the docs as soon as I get back.

DD2 is the first one of mine to be adventurous so young by the way. I think she's just trying to keep up.

Joe will also need to be using a lot of energy to keep looking that gorgeous. Moving must take second priority.

alittlebitshy · 23/03/2009 14:42

I did wonder what creeing was .

ds rolls like a mad thing (like when i lost him (under the cot)), and wants to crawl but just can't do it. He really wantas to walk but we've got a long hard frustrated time til he does that.

Miamla · 23/03/2009 18:10

i have a new cunning way of catching up and writing posts as i go and then that way i won't forget anything!

albs i forgot you played Carcassonne! we should have a grown up board game evening with our other halves! have you got the add-ons as well or do you just play the basic game?

lol steaky are you near Gap??? my DP will move in with you if you are! Its his favourite drop zone!

Miamla · 23/03/2009 18:19

poppy i don't think your dress looks frumpy at all!
lol at the whales!

Steaknife · 23/03/2009 18:30

Miamla we are very much in Gap.

Today I conquered the past continuous and the past compose tenses. Tomorrow I am going to try the local mother and baby group - if my French isnt good enough for the mums at least I klnow I will be fine with the babys.

Sorry for typos and lack of punctuation, on DHs keyboard and of course all the letters are in the wrong places.

Miamla · 23/03/2009 18:42

well if nothing else, at least i know who to contact if he drags me and DS with him on his next jaunt!

alittlebitshy · 23/03/2009 18:43

ooh hadn't thought about keyboards being different.....

miamla we do have all the add ons and for settlers too but it has been so long since we played either i think we'd struggle with anything fancy Though with guidance we might manage!!! Have just rememberd how dh always takes the red pieces for settlers. calls it his communist army - not v pc me thinks . he gets most narked if someone tries to take the red ones. Yeah we MUST do this!!!!!

Miamla · 23/03/2009 18:48

DS is looking less like his beautiful norm at the moment. Apparently crawling is for babies so he tried to walk from the book shelf to the table whilst carrying one of his books. He now has another bruise on the back of his head and a fat lip. It was quite horrible the amount it bled

Miamla · 23/03/2009 18:50

ooh, we play settlers too! I'm more than happy to play basic carcassonne, all the add-ons confuse me and make it more likely that DP wins! He's especially crafty with pigs in the fields!

PetitFilou1 · 23/03/2009 19:13

Hi all
Thanks for the good wishes for Toby - who is fine now - but most unpleasant watching how much pain he was in while the nurse manipulated his arm back... In the end I was just relieved she hadn't broken it.

dizzy I am sorry Mothers Day got you down so much - hope you are feeling better now.

Our friends with three 5 and under and one on the way (yes I know) were here over the w/e - we had a great time so roll on the holiday when they are coming too.

Back to freezing cold weather here, glad we had a taste of Summer though...

PetitFilou1 · 23/03/2009 19:14

miamla I hope your ds is ok. That made me think of the time my friend's ds1 actually swung from her lightshade in her dining room - I thought ah, you have one of those

dizzydixies · 23/03/2009 20:14

evening all, apologies for outbursts earlier I have to admit am not feeling any better and DH still pootling about as though nothing wrong and my Dad hasn't phoned so sod them.

Dylan has started opening her mouth today which makes feeding a whole hell of a lot easier!! She's also started pushing herself up to peek out of her car seat which is making me think its time to start considering the next seat up? anyone know when thats meant to happen? I thought about 9months and although she's big I don't think she looks uncomfortable by any means

AARRGGHHH why is it never simple

miamla hope he's covered in arnica cream and tucked up in bed by now

CaptainCaveman · 23/03/2009 20:18

ouch miamla, an adventurous soul you have on your hands!

What is carcassone? Am naive in these matters

cyteen hope Joe is feeling better? Thanks for asking, work is good and Yes, I'm still feeding Oliver - in works time . The best news was that he drank 3oz of formula at nursery today, yay! Only taken him 4 weeks of them trying him with a bottle at 4.30, 4 days per week!

petit I missed that, what did your poor fella do to himself?

oopsacoconut · 23/03/2009 20:20

Dizz - next seat up is 20lb and once they are very stable in their necks. Weight is more important than age.

CaptainCaveman · 23/03/2009 20:20

Hello dizzy! I thought the car seat was a weight based thing, or when their head peeps over the top of the seat. Yay for Dylan opening her mouth

Oliver rolls around the room like a drunk. He's such a happy little chap. He flaps his arms up and down when he sees me, like he's trying to take off! Today he was trying to get his kness up under him whilst on his tummy....he'll be off before I know it.

CaptainCaveman · 23/03/2009 20:22

and sibh I agree, work is very overrated

dizzydixies · 23/03/2009 20:26

good grief we passed 20lbs AGES ago, wee porker thank you girls I may change soon as we have a next stage seat waiting on her

CaptainCaveman · 23/03/2009 20:29

Ahh, I feel like I've just slipped on my comfy old clothes being here again. It;s been torture spending a whole week away from mn!!
