Thanks NL for your reassurance. I wish that the HCPs I'm coming across would see it that way.

Oooggs, I try to work out the pounds and ounces but the official records are all in metric (kg and grams).

StealthPolarBear · 20/03/2009 19:29

Hi everyone
I have had mother's day DS came back from nursery with a picture for me, and then DH came home with a bunch of roses for me (which DS asked him to get!) I'm feeling spoilt!

elkiedee · 20/03/2009 19:34

Awwwwwww

liath · 20/03/2009 19:38

Evening all

Luce - good to hear the wee boy is doing so well. I hope your cousin is coping OK.

Elkie - sounds like you're doing a great job, it seems a bit OTT that the paediatricians are obsessed with the pounds and ounces (or grams) at this stage.

PHD - good luck for D-day . Are you Down Under now?

Well I'm on my own till monday as DH is off Helicopter Hero-ing. I've necked a big glass of wine and am feeling pissed relaxed. It has been glorious weather here so have done lots in the garden and had picnic lunches in the garden with the kids . So good that winter is over at last!

liath · 20/03/2009 19:40

SPB, dd told me today very seriously that she and DH had hidden my mother's day card in a drawer in her bedroom but it was a secret and I wasn't allowed to find out until sunday .

Lucky you with roses!

StealthPolarBear · 21/03/2009 07:19

lol - well at least you know where not to look!
Well I fell asleep on the sofa last night and completely forgot to put them in water . Have just done it - they seem OK. Also am getting a third cold in this month, and have an upset stomach

MJreturns · 21/03/2009 17:50

Evening everyone.

RH, I hope things are better between you and dh now. It is so hard sometimes isn't it xx

Elkie, glad C is continuing to gain weight

SPB, hope you feel better soon. You seem to have had a lot of colds lately xx

Luce, glad that your little nephew is holding his own. Keep us updated when you can xx

I have just baked a cake which I am hoping I can turn into the face of Upsy Daisy for F's birthday party tomorrow. Won't hold my breath, and at least I have tesco for back up if I need it

CaptainDippy · 21/03/2009 18:26

Ooooh, well done MJ, hope it goes well Can't believe out April (March / May) lot are turning 2!!

StealthPolarBear · 21/03/2009 18:56

ooh is F 2 tomorrow? Is she first, or have I missed some?

StealthPolarBear · 21/03/2009 19:49

Just checked the stats, and of the current regulars Bramshott's O is first on the 27th. So it must be F's party tomorrow ahead of her birthday - hope she enjoys it

leakyR · 21/03/2009 20:19

Hi ladies

Good news. I got my GTT result yesterday and it was fine. So it's still all systems go for HWB. Tempted to order pool and tens now
Someone on the first time homebirthers thread has been having latent ctx for 4 days. She's still at home but hasn't slept since Tuesday night. Hope it all happens for her tonight.

Good luck to PHD for the BIG day!

SPB - hope you're feeling ok. I've never had a winter like this one for colds and bugs. Your immune system is pants when pg

RH - hope things are better with dh.

Elkie - I really feel for you. I think you're doing a great job and the gain the doctor has quoted seems unrealistic.

Hope the cake turns out well MJ. we'll need a pic if it does.

Luce - glad the news is better about your nephew. Our love and thoughts are with your family.

CaptainDippy · 22/03/2009 08:27

Great news Leaky

I know it has all been hyped up etc; but I feel a bit weepy about Jade Goody's death atm. (On Mothering Sunday as well ) Her boys are exactly the same age as my oldest Prayers are with her husband and family at this time. xx

Happy Mothering Sunday all you lovely April Laydeeees! Hope you get spoiled (My husband still in bed & I am up )

xxxx

leakyR · 22/03/2009 11:53

Happy Mother's Day lovely April ladies.

My HB thread friend had a girl at 6.30 am today. At home!! Lovely first Mother's Day for her.

Going to a pirate birthday party this pm, then driving straight to Northumberland. Dh is working up there this week so we're off to stay with the ILs. I've agreed to go to the Metrocentre with MIL tomorrow so will need calm, serene, not-at-all-irritated vibes from you all.

It is sad about Jade CD, her sons are so young. I've tried to avoid most of the coverage. It'll be 2 years on April 7 since my friend died from cervical cancer so she and her family are very much on my mind atm.

Hope you're all being treated like princesses!

MJreturns · 22/03/2009 13:55

Happy Mother's Day to all of us!

Leaky, good to hear the GTT has turned out with a good result

SPB, yes it is F's party ahead of her birthday which is next Saturday. It is joint with a friend of ours and his birthday is actually today.

Well, the cake looks ok I think. I will try and attach a pic to my profile for honest opinions!

MJreturns · 22/03/2009 14:02

Photo is on there if you want to have a nose

StealthPolarBear · 22/03/2009 17:50

hi everyone
just dashing on, will catch up (and look at cake) later
Dh confiscated laptop all day

StealthPolarBear · 22/03/2009 18:30

wow that's really good! What is the hair made of? Just icing?

elkiedee · 22/03/2009 18:42

Good news Leaky

We had a lovely day out yesterday. One of our local children's centres put on a "Day with Dad" but mums were allowed too so C and I tagged along. Lots of activities but D just enjoyed running around quite a big space and playing with various outdoor toys, and then having lunch. All totally free to those attending.

We've also been out to the park both yesterday and today.

TMI alert, the milk monster's poo has stopped being a worrying shade of green and become a yellow/brown that I find much more reassuring.

I'm another one who feels sad about Jade Goody, without really being sure why, and I never even watched the series of Big Brother that made her famous, although dp was still following it at that point.

My mum's mum died on Mother's Day 14 years ago, just two days after being suddenly taken in to hospital. She was 85, but we still weren't ready for it.

SPB, is your DH feeling neglected?

elkiedee · 22/03/2009 18:44

MJ, very impressive, and I say that as a definite non-fan of ITNG!

liath · 22/03/2009 18:49

Fabby cake MJ!

Good news about the GTT, leaky.

Ds has chicken pox. Aargh. I don't fancy being stuck in with him and dd all next week.

Haven't heard from DH all weekend, not even a text. Get a bit anxious when he's off helicoptering, too.

StealthPolarBear · 22/03/2009 18:49

Hi elkie, lovely news about the poo
No, he was just watching a film last night, somehow that needed the laptop hooked up to the TV. I don't like unravelling all the wires because no doubt I will unplug something that I shouldn't have done, so have only just got it back! (You wouldn't believe I work in IT would you?)

StealthPolarBear · 22/03/2009 18:50

at cp and non-texts liath. Does he usually do that? Phone out of charge / credit?

oooggs · 22/03/2009 19:06

liath - hope you hear soon

mj - that is fab

got to go ds3 wants mummy milk

liath · 22/03/2009 19:21

He'd normally phone, SPB. He's probably just been very busy which means he'll be knackered when he gets back & no help with whingy spotty ds. Oh well!

StealthPolarBear · 22/03/2009 19:27

oh dear Hope DS isn't too bad
