Miamla - sorry you had such a crazy night. A & E is not exactly the place to be at any time, but on a Saturday night to boot! Glad all okay now.

AnnVan/VG/HotterPotter/and, well almost everyone else - I really feel for you re sleep or lack thereof. I am really, really, really bored of of ds waking twice in the night (he goes down at 7ish, feeds at 11ish, feeds at 3/4ish and up at 7ish). Turns out I blardy love sleep!

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 01/03/2009 15:12

S&M... i have dreams where DS only wakes twice!

Sausageandmash · 01/03/2009 15:41

(my first smiley Miamla!) Sorry you're having such a pig of a (non) sleep routine - I should remember that two breaks in his sleep isn't bad in the grand scheme of things. So enough of the me, me, me. (ooh, these are fun!)

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 01/03/2009 15:43

tis ok S&M, i don't have an older DC as well so you're allowed to be upset at two wakings! no way i could cope with a toddler on no sleep!

Well shopping trip with dd1 turned out well. She tried to be grumpy. She's really holding on to the crabby mood bit.

Reese was an angel for DH even though she now has a horrible case of diaper rash again. This solid food bit is messing her back side up. WHY!?! Back to using my old faithful diaper cream (DESITIN) in the thickest application possible and allowing her to be diaper free for a few hours.

Miamla while I was out I remembered I called an ambulance for Reese a few months back when she had a moment that scared me. Like Sazzles said she was all cheery and flirty by the time the boys got here to check her over.

On the sleep front, my dd1 was not a good sleeper. I think I was absolutely bonkers by 6 months. She was almost three before she got the idea to sleep through the night. NOT THAT THAT HELPS...I just want you to know I totally understand your state of mind.

Lots to still do today. Kitchen will be closed at 9am tomorrow for the tear out of the old floor then they'll start laying the travertine. PLEASE LET THIS GO SMOOTHLY!! My state of mind is very fragile right now. The slightest goof could send me hurling over the edge. ((i'm only dramatizing))

new buggy. check. tea with the vicar. check. lack of sleep last night so skipped church and went to the supermarket instead. check. now just as knackered as if we had gone to church. check. off to mass anyway in a few minutes. check.

ps a&e here works a bit like a gp in the uk, so we have been a couple of times with minor worried mummy stuff, and they have always been very kind, even when Tom has flirted outragously. must have been very scarey anyway miamla, glad that all is ok.

ps2. am very pleased with the new rear facing buggy (the cheaper version). ds still cries in it, but i have managed to calm him so far with silly faces, toys etc, so am quite pleased.

can you link the buggy again lwfh? I love a good buggy gawp!

Liking my new luna -got the wheels on the right way now (dur brain). ds still loves his rear facing one best though...

CaptainCaveman · 01/03/2009 20:18

OOOhh, check you lwfh with your super new buggy....

I have spent time today doing actual proper TIDYING and not just hidying. I've now got 3 bags of stuff to take to the charity shop, after clearing out my wardrobe of clothes that no longer fit I don't like anymore, bags I don't use anymore and other stuff.

We've also been and had a cup of tea with the couple who we're buying the house off. The good news is, we like it even more now than we ever did! Praying the sale goes through smoothly.

Back to work tomorrow - maybe I'll get time to mn , but I better not let my new boss catch me

CaptainCaveman · 01/03/2009 20:20

SAZZLES STEP AWAY FROM THE IRON, just for a minute whilst I put my ironing on top of your pile

Oh, and Happy 7 month birthday to Oliver .

TwilightSurfer · 01/03/2009 20:24

Balancing Checkbooks (YES PLURAL), Paying Bills (include final BEACH HOUSE payment), Arrangement Postal Service during VACA, installing new kitchen light, mommy duties, washing clothes, hidying kitchen do-dads, AND I NEED...REALLY NEED TO fold the laundry. Ladies don't laugh but I have about seven loads of clean laundry in a heap at the foot of my bed. How can ever expect my children to keep a clean room if I can't keep a clean room?

Yoga in two hours!!! YES!!!!

Longway yes post a link to the new buggy. Did I mention I'd like a jogging one on here??

[meep][tired] and a little bit AARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Sibh · 01/03/2009 21:10

Would it be ok TS to say I'm delighted to hear about your ironing pile? It makes me feel a bit better about the chaos here.
Only time to meep here, as we're having a major clearout before a carpenter arrives on Tuesday to remodel the upstairs bedrooms.
Chaos of all kinds.

PF - I meant to say last night that it it must be so tough for your friends. To go through that a second time doesn't bear thinking about.

On a brighter note, DD2 is just adorable right now. She does this strange sky-diving thing on the floor and she's trying to crawl with her nose in the carpet. V. v. cute.

Hello girls, been away for a lovely weekend at my dad's and glad not to come back to 20 pages of catch-up! DP and I went out last night to see my dad play a gig, was v good and a top time was had by all. Meanwhile my stepmum watched Joe who was very well behaved. Then today he put on a proper grandparent-pleasing show. My boy

Since we got back this afternoon, I have:

  • washed up numerous times
  • put away clean washing
  • done two loads of washing
  • cooked tea for DP and I
  • made sweetcorn cakes ready to cook for DS tomorrow
  • fulfilled a craft obligation (badly )
  • stripped the bed and put clean sheets on, ditto cot
  • unpacked mine and Joe's bags

not to mention all the usual baby business of the day. I must be ill.

miamla how scary, but very glad that T is okay.

TwilightSurfer · 01/03/2009 21:37

LOL Sibh...ironing pile LOL LOL LOL it's a pile alrighty but not one piece in it will ever see an iron. wrinkles are style markers in my house. {{{twilight sits chuckling at the thought of using an iron}}}

trying to get a bit in my tummy before heading to yoga: peanut butter and jelly sandwich with pretzels and a coke i bet my instructor will have had hummus, carrot sticks and whole grain crackers. too bad for her HUH!!

Cyteen glad you had a good weekend.

Ah Miamla too.
I never remember to write down all the things I think as I write (probably a good thing in most cases, but not this one). What an awful fright for you all, and so glad your DS is better.

TwilightSurfer · 01/03/2009 21:38

seriously off now to get to yoga!
