alittlebitshy · 13/03/2009 18:01

good luck miamla - enjoy mil's advice!!

ann i hate those days Hugs.

buckets ooh sounds cool!

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 13/03/2009 18:51

Cyteen - I was third time lucky with my test, cost a blardy fortune but so glad I kept at it.

We had a lovely afternoon - DH decided to take the afternoon off and I skipped French class so our lil family went up to a nature reserve - lake, ducks, fish, trees, mountains, sunshine - fab!

Tomorrow is mums last day visiting so we will be pottering around the local market, lunching and DH is cooking dinner. Mum been pretty good, had a few tears but many more laughs.

DH out at a friends and hopefully bringing back pictures of a walnut bedframe for the apartment, I am looking for inspiration on t'interweb.

Miamla · 13/03/2009 19:20

hee hee, they're all watching me type this
oops it would seem fil just asked me a question and i ignored him because he threw one of DS's toys at me!

ataraxis · 13/03/2009 19:24

aaargh - boys are driving me mental. They just can't agree on anything. I thought I would let them stay up a bit later tonight, but am rapidly changing my mind

ann, sorry you had such a crap night, morning and day. I hope that things are getting better. Good on you for deciding on an adult conversation (although I agree with the others that dp was a complete arse this morning).

Ahh - ds2 just came up to give me a cuddle and requesting lots back, wiping away all of my . Going to be nice to them til they are in bed (10 mins max ). Catch up later.

dizzydixies · 13/03/2009 19:47

Ann hope Seb is on better form and your chat goes ok

VG we saw something like that on honeymoon in rome, was great if a little confusing due to language barrier

cyteen I can't really add anything over and above whats been said, sorry it didn't go well

fecking toothache again tonight and yet I still insist in poking it with my tongue [idiot emoticon]

PetitFilou1 · 13/03/2009 19:51

cyteen don't worry about it, I passed second time (in an ahem automatic) Think of the first test as practice....

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/03/2009 20:35

cyteen sorry you didnt pass, and you are not a nob, I have done that and still do it.
hope ds is feeling better.

ann hope you get a better night and manage to talk to your dp later.

I am swishing about with my new hair but was seriously at being in hair dressers for 4 hours.

I was sat feeling sick, wondering how dh was coping with both dcs. pathetic of me I know, but it is the first time he has had them both. He is perfectly capable, but he says daily he doesnt know how I do it everyday as he couldnt and would rather be at work.
Turns out dd was an angel and he managed to get her to have a nap for 1.5 hours and he also managed to get ds to sleep (only 30 min) but still I was
he did however say ds is very very mardy and he couldnt put him down for longer than 5 min without him crying.

dizzy I am ready for the online treasures
oh ds crying back soon.

ataraxis · 13/03/2009 20:49

cyteen, sorry I didn't say bad luck earlier . Annoying that you came across something like that, but as pf says, just look at it as practice.

dizzy, glad you are feeling better today. You are fab, don't let anyone make you think otherwise

no1 lovely hair! at 4 hours, how did you stand it?

We have just been invited to a wedding in Spain . Sounds fab, bit scared about 3 children on a plane though, and also slightly nervous about how disappointed the ds's will be when they realise how dull air travel really is.

sambo303triesforScotland · 13/03/2009 20:57

cyteen boo better luck next time

dizzy have you tried some arnica on it?

miamla make sure you dont use the wrong flour this time

ann hope you and dp make up and agree your ground rules - again!

no1 lovely new do!

ds is asleep in his own bedroom!!! feels strange but I have high hopes for tonight sleepwise

CaptainCaveman · 13/03/2009 21:32

Hugs for you cyteen, driving tests are so hit and miss.

Right, I am officially going to sulk. The cheeky fecka who came to do our survey on the house, an amicable chap in his 50s, asked me if Oliver and my friend's ds were my grandsons . I am so bloody floored and appalled by his comment. My 2 friends were here when he said it and we all just kind of sat open mouthed and said "err, no". I am mortified. How fucking old do I look exactly? I want to hide in a corner and sob!!!

Miamla · 13/03/2009 21:40

sambo would i dare?! the thought didn't even cross my mind!
well done on getting DS is his own room!

Miamla · 13/03/2009 21:41

CC you look like his mum and don't you dare listen to the silly old man. what does he know? nothing! that's what!

sambo303triesforScotland · 13/03/2009 21:55

cc if it's any consolation (prob not) when I visited dp's rellies oop north I mistook his sister's friends grandchildren for her own - apparently they all have kids at 18 there, most confusing! So Im guessing your cheeky fecka is from Teeside or its environs? you should have bopped him on the nose

dizzydixies · 13/03/2009 22:25

right have been on my AIBU thread tonight and now I'm off - tis the rugby tomorrow so won't be on

Sibh, VG - all the very best of luck but we're going to squish you like little bugs

alittlebitshy · 14/03/2009 07:52

cc cheeky fecka indeed. Of course you look like his mum! grrr.

sambo - soooo, how was the night?

miamla flour?!

Morning - one wake up. Was prolonged but dh did the first bit, then i fed him, then he lay in his cot babbling for 30 mins, then dh went in and cuddled him to sleep. Not toooooo bad (though the night before he'd miraculously slept through).

MIL coming today - eek. Thoguth dd and i are nipping off to a party, leaving dh and ds to entertain her. .

dizzydixies · 14/03/2009 07:52

morning all, HAS to be the full scottish this morning - bacon, eggs, lorne sausage, potato scones, black pudding, mushroom, tomato, beans and toast

I know I said I wouldn't be on today but had to tell you - Dylan slept through!!!!! I feel marvellous. DD1 apparently got into out bed at some point this morning and kicked theshit lumps out of DH & I as she sleeps like an electric eel but hey, who cares I feel as if I've had a kidney removed, Dylan still slept through!

right am off, I hope the sun is shining on you all. VG & Sibh am in the East stand on the halfway line if you're watching

Expectant · 14/03/2009 08:36

Yey go Dylan!

I feel we could too be watching the rugby if last night is anything to go by. DS seems to have picked up yet another virus (temperature, runny nose etc)and DH and I had to do the night in 2 hour shifts. He would go to sleep on us but when we tried to put him down he just screamed. Also blardy doctor not available this morning and had to wait 2 hours to see another one. V.tired now and have to get up with DS tomorrow as DH is doing a 10k run (he usually does the early shift on Sunday).Ann it's difficult here too as apparently because I only work part time this doesn't count as 'you can always sleep in the afternoon'.

Cyteen bad luck on the test. Can you get a re-test soon. I remember a boyfriend of mine when he took his test he farted and the instructor had to ask him to wind the window down - maybe a tactic for next time

Those of you unable to get BBC iPlayer. You can pay for a UK IP address. I'm not exactly sure how it works but if you search BBC i-player on mumsnet you should be able to find the link on the living overseas thread.

alittlebitshy · 14/03/2009 08:59

expectant oh no poor little boy

dizzy yay dylan!

surely everyone is not still ASLEEP are they?

sambo303triesforScotland · 14/03/2009 09:12

dizzy wonderful new about Dylan and thanks for the brekkie. Hope our lads put on another good show today, I am kicking dp off the tv at 5

albs thanks for asking re the night - ds ended up back in his hammock in our room as he would not settle back down after a feed at 9.30pm and we all eventually went to sleep at 11.40pm (after trying to get him to sleep in his room unsuccesfully). Then he woke around 4.30am then 7am. So he did not feed between 9.30pm and 4.30am which is great and he did not wake for his usual 1am feed which was great but he's back in our room, not great.

he's pretty delighted with himself at the moment, sucking on orange segments and covered in breadstick residue so no ill effects from the 2 hours of wailing last night

cyteen hope you manage to fit in a treat or two this weekend after yesterday's disappointment

CaptainCaveman · 14/03/2009 09:35

expectant hope he is back to his happy little self soon. I did lol at the driving test incident though

dizzy yay for you and Dylan . Take note Aug 08 babies - you CAN sleep through the night, see!!

O only woke up 3 times

Oh well, off to play hockey later.

AnnVan · 14/03/2009 09:57

Morning all!
Yay Dylan!
sambo sympathies for your night.
Chat was ok - didn't get an apology though but then I never do. Turns out e'd actually been woken by Seb's crying at 5am, and couldn't get back to sleep. He said in hindsight he should just have got up then. He is rather like a bear with a sore bum if he doesn't get enough sleep.

Oh andcc you looknothing like a grandma!! rude git

AnnVan · 14/03/2009 09:58

Ooh and sorry about your test cyteen. Have to say I don't know anyone who passed first time. It seems to obe policy or something to fail everyone first time round.

Miamla · 14/03/2009 10:24

morning

DS slept from 11.30 til 8.30 with one wake up at some point but no idea when! his best before now has been 12 til 6 with one wake up. i didn't sleep any more than usual because i kept waking in anticipation of DS waking!

come on aug 08 babies!!!!! (sorry to anyone who had a bad night)

hmm, think i'll be joining the irish supporters today in recognition of the 25% of irish blood i've got in my veins!
