that last post made me think (AGAIN) about no1 and ataraxis and their lo's. both stories kill me. i really hope the medical professionals are helping you with a soft touch and a shoulder if you need it. these are delicate matters and need delicate personal attention. waiting is fine and all for the professional but not for the one holding the reality. i so so wish i could do something in my lifetime that would change the way we all experience medical care!!!!

s&m, sorry to hear about your LO, fingers crossed for you. ts, I think you meant sausage, my concerns are somewhat more run of the mill.

So if 2 feeds is sleeping through, how many feeds is not sleeping through then?

Guess what, we had a 7pm-8am sleeper last night!!! All children asleep by 8pm, none woke up before 7.30. Nothing short of amazing .

TwilightSurfer · 28/02/2009 13:59

ataraxis i did mean s&m. and as i drove down the road this morning running errands i remembered i'd not offered {{{hugs}}} to pertelote in a long while. add to that i've all but fallen off the face of the earth on my reformation thread.

for the record i send positive thoughts to each and everyone of you every day even if i don't mention it in my crazy ramblings.

i'm back from my first skate since end of Oct 07 ie just before i discovered i was pregnant! Had lots of fun, DS had a rather bemused look on his face! He doesn't realise it yet but as soon as he's stable on his feet without wheels, he'll be out skating with me

sorry to hear about worrying periods for people waiting for test results. i know there's nothing i can say or do that will make the wait any easier. Just be sure to come on here if you need to rant/share/cry etc about anything

sambo303triesforScotland · 28/02/2009 17:42

met 2 childminders who live locally - and am happy to report, they are lovely!! We especially gelled with one, and the other was also very nice. They are both just starting out so may not be available in Aug/Sep but we hope they are!! If not, it's good to know there are like souls out there who will care for my ds
hope everyone is having a lovely weekend, we have been gardening with ds and had a bonfire, we all smell of smoke!

sambo303triesforScotland · 28/02/2009 18:02

like - minded souls!!

pertelote · 28/02/2009 18:29

Lovely Sambo, that must be so reassuring. A bonfire sounds like a good idea - our garden could certainly use one. Unfortunately it is a bit too small - we'd probably burn down most of the street which might not go down well!

Wow Miamla sounds like fun! Do you go with a group or on your own? DS in sling or pushchair?

Thanks TS. Hugs are much appreciated. Hope you get a better night tonight.

Glad Sazzles and Buckets had good nights out! My NCT chums are on a girls' night out tonight so slightly not to be with them... my brownies are very very gooey though and DH is cooking stuffed mushrooms so I doubt the food will be any better there than it is here

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 28/02/2009 18:57

hi pertelote, DP pushed DS in pushchair and i pootled along with them. i may have gone for a few little bursts but i did go back to them!

how are you getting on?

i too have real roller skates. as a child i would go every saturday morning and skate for three hours at our local rink. the rink is now gone BUT my dad (with some coaxing) bought me a pair of competition grade skates on my 28th birthday.....10 years ago. i don't wear them much these days. i did find out that chattanooga has a roller derby type big girls club. maybe one day i'll get brave enough to check them out.

quality crap-o-la day here. dd1 is really unraveling me piece by piece. i've had to empty her room of all her toys in the middle of preparing the kitchen and laundry room for the monday remodel. feel completely gutted and wish that i had family close so i could drop her for a while. dh and i both need a break.

wishing all sweet dreams and sleepy babies this evening.

hee hee i knew all the skaters would come out the closet if i mentioned that i'd been! I used to do about 30/40miles a week on them (spread over the week, not all in one day!)
VG i'll have to remember to pack them when i come and visit

pertelote and whilst your face is still smothered by VG's shoulder, i'll be pinching a few of those brownies!

TS sorry to hear you've had a bad day with DD1. is it wine o'clock there yet?

pertelote · 28/02/2009 20:45

backatcha TS - sounds like you need them.

VG - they are good. Was it Ann asking for veggie recipes? DH takes big flat mushrooms, breaks an egg into each, covers with garlicky herby breadcrumbs and bakes. Or sometimes cheese instead of egg. Extra bonus tonight - DD loved it! We did her a plainer mushroom (no egg), cut it into strips and she sucked it very enthusiastically.

Miamla I have no sense of balance so am a disaster on skates - but I used to love watching the friday night skate which wen past our window when we went to Paris.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 28/02/2009 20:48

pertelote if i liked mushrooms that would sound really nice!
i did the pari-roller a few years ago... absolutely the best skating night of my life! Do you know that there are night skates on Wednesday (only summer months) and Friday (all year) in London too? no where near as impressive as Paris but still pretty good

God I've not been on my roller skates for many a long year, you've brought it all back I've got some roller boots upstairs but the pavements in Wakefield are really shite, last time I went on them was 1994, I fell right on my bum. I am totally blaming the pavements, not the alcohol . I used to go to a roller disco in Northampton back in 1983 or 1984, 'twas the height of sophistication doncha know

Both DC have a really nasty cold both coughing like they're choking, full of snot, and DS has yellow pussy eyes, ewww. Have blown up airbed in case DH has to spend the night in DD's room again, there just isn't enough room in her toddler bed for her 6ft 3 daddy, but sometimes she just won't sleep alone poor poppet. Shouldn't have drunk wine but just can't help myself here's hoping calpol will help DS sleep OK. Think he must be able to hear me typing from upstairs as he is coughing again and whining like waking is imminent . Oh well, better go. Night all xxxxx

TwilightSurfer · 01/03/2009 00:47

{{{hugs}}} hotter.

vg i'm home but dealing with dd1. wish i was on here chatting...actually i'd rather be doing anything than dealing with dd1.

miamla i think i'm going to have a roller buggy session in my garage tomorrow. dh cleaned it out today. the weather man is calling for snow. ain't no snow in the garage though!!! get down buggy uggy uggy!! {{{twilight runs off to find her rainbow uni-suit with matching headband}}}

well we had fun last night. it started off really good. DS was in bed asleep at 6.30. he woke for a few cuddles (every hour or so) but all in all pretty good. Until 10.30pm, he was having a feed and was violently sick 3 times completely covering me, him, the bed. Not nice. Anyhow, DP came up to help and DS was floppy, really not himself. So we took him downstairs and he was really strange. DP wanted to go straight to hospital but i rang NHS direct. 3 hours later they told us to go to hospital. End of a long wait in A&E, DS is absolutely fine, DP very irritable and I'm shattered.
DS has got enough energy in him this morning to make up for all of us. DP still asleep

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 01/03/2009 11:08

sounds like we could have a few on skates for our next meet-up

sazzles, have the whoremoans calmed down this morning?

hotpot how are you this morning? and yes, definitely sounds like the pavements were to blame!

vg you little temptress!

ts are you really going to get your skates on today?? you go girl!

TwilightSurfer · 01/03/2009 11:46

{{{hugs}}} sazzles it must be transatlatic pmt. i cried quite a bit yesterday. dd1 didn't help it but even if she'd been an angel i'd have cried. too much going on and not enough sleep. plus the house is upside down. you're in a similar situation. {{{{hugs}}} LESS THAN TWO WEEKS!!!

miamla i think i will put on the skates for a spin. might be after yoga class but i'm going to do it!!

vg saddly as a youth i use to do fonda-cise so that picture gives me fLaShBaCkS.

well we are suppose to get snow today. i'm not seeing any yet. maybe it will miss us because i have errands to run. i am taking dd1 ALONE with me on these errands. i know part of her problem is ME TIME. then off to community yoga at 5:30 with a friend. YEAH! see ladies i'm tryting to find that silver lining.

alittlebitshy · 01/03/2009 13:23

all these skaters . I'd love to try it but I barely manage to stay upright on 2 feet. (clumsy is the common term i feel).

lots of hugs for s&mand no1.

Sorry you had a scary night with ds miamla. Dh and i commented a few weeks ago that we've not taken ds to hospital once. we'd had a good few trips with dd by now (really bad d and v at 6 weeks, an infected finger nail at 2 weeks, a horrid sicky this.... can't remember). either we were ultra precous about our pfb or ds is faring a lot better.

sazzles yay for your night out but not yay for feeling crap in all ways the next day.

cc good luck with the bottle persuading. How are the norks?

ds woke at 8.30 (3 brief wake ups in the night - all dealt with by dh) and WOULD not nap in church. too much fun. Have got him to sleep in his cot now. Hoping he has a decent sleep..... cos it's looking like a one nap day, normally i'd be looking at the 2nd one about now .

TwilightSurfer · 01/03/2009 14:13

miamla i completely missed your drama post. OMG!! i'm glad all is well now. Theo gave you a serious scare. {{{hugs}}}

Hello everyone. Gosh. Tired.
Littl man gave us a rubbish night.
DP eventually took him downstairs at 5.30 so I could get some sleep.
