my mum had a full head of grey hair by 18yrs I think. I havnt got any yet, but sure might do soon with the worries kids give you.

Highlights sound good, but dont take advice from me I am off to hairdressers tomorow for a complete change, but still no idea what.
Have a feeling I will no longer have very long hair though.

right I am off noe night ladies

i'm so pleased Marianne's pressie found her. I was a bit doubtful whether or not it would because apparently the ward she's on has got a rule about no bags and our pressies were all in a bag!
The nurse we spoke to said her operation went really well so that's a huge relief

i've got some lovely photos of the pressie and card, shall i post here or FB?

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 12/03/2009 22:04

Well that chat with the priest went well - he ran through the service and we chose the readings and went through Godparents etc. now all set except he would like us to have a seperate shawl for her, to wrap her in at the end of the service - we were just going with the robe and cardi. So if anyone can find me a silk (but not shiny) shawl I would be grateful!

Am absolutely thrilled all is well With Marianne and Pertelote will keep them in our prayers.

Miamla - any chance of a piccie of the pressie?

Dizzy you are incredibly restrained - I would have pulled DD along saying 'don't speak to stangers' rather loudly

Helloo to everyone else I'm a bit cheesy brained.....

dizzydixies · 12/03/2009 22:05

night No1 - when you're feeling a bit more spritely have found some lovely online stuff

miamla post it here and FB for all to see thank you for doing that today

poppy Wed am perfect, shall head down from school run to let DH go to bed off a nightshift - did you see I got the christening sorted?

VG am not sure I was polite as am convinced I had a startled bunny expression and very obviously didn't stop to let her talk to me, should be interesting to hear her version of it by the time my lot start back on Mon - by then it will have grown arms and legs

your holiday sounds fab btw, am really beginning to look forward to ours now, just have the rugby this weekend to get past first

poppysocks · 12/03/2009 22:07

Was referring to you 21.45 post there Dizzy .

Don't start me on the grey hairs... TBH had expected to be greyer by now as the genes don't bode well. They had been sporadic, but encroaching with increasing ferocity so bit the bullet a month or so ago and had it touched up. Rather liked it actually but it is poking through scarily fast. It's like it knows I've given up on it. That does, however, mean that I get to go and have it re-done/sit still without wiping a nose or bottom for at least an hour .

dizzydixies · 12/03/2009 22:13

poppy we should have a spaday touch up together St Andrews Bay suit you!?

oops does it have to be a silk shawl? we've used knitted one here and its been handed down - you may need it again is there nobody you know would like to make one for you? otherwise am happy to look for you

and I loved your response but I don't think I'm that quick witted

our minister informed me on Mon night that godparents play no part in the eyes of the church of scotland and although he's willing to have them there for the service etc they don't have an official role and haven't had one for the past 20 off years both of mine have a male and female godparent (one of whom is a friend, one a member of the family) and I cannot get my head round that at all

Oh goodness, must have missed that dizzy. What's the story? Look forward to hearing all about it on Weds. Glad to hear yours is sorted oops.

BTW - on subject of christenings dizzy, I was in Farmore Babies today (buying a christening present for someone else!) and noticed they have gorgeous traditional christening gowns in there, v. similar to the ones you linked to ages ago. Much cheaper too, although given other stock there I may have misread the label . I know you're sorted, but saw them and thought of you

dizzydixies · 12/03/2009 22:17

tell him you're on paddypower looking up the odds of scotland beating ireland

Miamla they look brilliant

dizzydixies · 12/03/2009 22:24

absolutely, we always go when its scotland ireland at murrayfield - shall consider streaking so you see me

night VG I hope you get a good sleep

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 12/03/2009 22:25

No Dizzy it doesn't but her robe is silk and I wanted to get her one from Mr Moles - I think you linked to it along time ago - but there isn't enough timeto get it personalised. The one used when I was baptised is full of moth holes and the thread is too fine to repair it without it looking patchworky.

We have just been told at how important Godparents are and their role, he said he will remind them at the begining of the service so they can opt out if they think they are not up to it.

Don't speak rugby - I am in so much trouble the hotel doesn't have a pubilc telly.

dizzydixies · 12/03/2009 22:28

I shall sky + it for Mr Oops and he can come and watch it here

is the christening THIS sunday? I forget, sorry

Miamla · 12/03/2009 23:08

i've managed to upload all photos to FB but so far i can only do the card photo to here.sorry vg, typically i can only load the photo of the thing that you've already seen!
i'll persevere tomorrow

AnnVan · 13/03/2009 06:00

Hello ladies. Any matchstickshandy? Little man woke at 3 gaaaaah. Has still not gone back to sleep. Oh well, will catch up on the thread
it's too early or breakfast so will pop back later to put some out.

AnnVan · 13/03/2009 07:58

Am officially pissed off. Seb drifted off to sleep, so I went and got in bed. Had five minutes to get comfy before he woke up again. I'll admit I had a weary moment, leaning against the wall with my head in my hands. DP decides that this gives him the right to have a go at me. When I said I've been up since 3, he comes back with 'sleep when he sleeps' Well I would if he was bloody sleeping wouldn't I? Cue him shouting and swearing at me.
We are going to be having words this evening. I'm wroking bloody hard at night so that he can get enough sleep. He has no fucking right to shout at me for feeling weary after only three hours sleep and a constantly moaning baby.

AnnVan · 13/03/2009 08:02

Sorry for the rant ladies.
Anyhoo - breakfast offerings this morning are eggs, toast, porridge and orange juice or coffee. Sadly have run out of tea.
