lol sibh thats MUCH better with the smileys!!!

I wonder if they'll do wee paddy irish ones for St Patricks day?! All getting very excited about Sat in this house - am considering sneaking into town today as the only one with a Scotland top that fits it Dylan and thats just not on

SibhaShillelaghUnderYourArm · 13/03/2009 10:53

Twirling briefly in my new name for the bank holiday weekend here.
Will have to make do with as a seasonal icon.

dizzydixies · 13/03/2009 10:59

lol Sibh, you'll forgive me if I'm in navy blue brandishing thistles tomorrow at least

GreenGardenia · 13/03/2009 11:18

Hmm I was between this and VintageShamrock. I need a more versatile name!!

Sibh can't wait till there's a reason to do a nautical name and you can be SibhaMeTimbers! Anything good happening down your way? We are planning to do the big treasure hunt tomorrow in Dub.

dizzy you can wave thistles tomorrow but after that you have to honour your honorary Irishness and get on board for this weekend!

GreenGardenia · 13/03/2009 11:22

Look at this all you who want another babby. 190 quid to spend on preg essentials.

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 13/03/2009 11:26

Can't get the iplayer here either, blummin annoying. But maybe some of the comic relief stuff will be up on youtube. The bbc have a page and they put up the celebrity clodhoppers strictly come dancing bits on it.

dizzydixies · 13/03/2009 11:27

shall do VG, shall do, sorry, GG

thats very interesting, shall send it to my SIL and my friend who are both due later in the year

SibhaShillelaghUnderYourArm · 13/03/2009 11:32

Perfect for 'Talk like a Pirate Day' in September GG-
There's a parade here on Sunday I think ...

The girls have just twigged that I'm neglecting them.

CaptainCaveman · 13/03/2009 11:59

buckets I have a fair few grey hairs now, and found my first one age 21 . I dye my hair (or get the hairdresser to do it) every 6 weeks.

So pleased Marianne's things reached her - thanks ladies for doing such a cracking job

CaptainCaveman · 13/03/2009 12:01

sibh will deffo take you up on the offer of proof-reading Thank you very much for offering. The thrilling subject topic will be around performance measurement of community nursing

Waiting for the surveyors to come and survey. O is napping

dizzydixies · 13/03/2009 12:04

yipee, DH just texted to say he is boarding - am pathetic I know as he's only been away overnight but feck it, has cheered me right up because the flight comes straight into the airport 5minutes away rather than fannying about going to glasgow or edinburgh so he'll be home in an hour [glee]

Sausageandmash · 13/03/2009 12:37

afternoon - whipping on to say, amongst other things - hurrah that marianne's op went well,
good luck cyteen (i was monsterously nervous before my test so hope you have more perspective, a`nd luck, than me!)
Annvan & diozzy - sorry you've had some rubbish moments to contend with, and hope you manage some serious sleep annvan, as well as a little more understanding (him not you!)
and i have a smattering of grey hairs too - is there a female equivalent of a 'silver fox'?
right, smelly but gorgeous wriggler on my laop is demanding various shades of orange gloop so must dash. hope you all have a fab friday.

cyteen · 13/03/2009 13:09

DS constantly wailing from 8pm last night
hissed words exchanged over the cot at 11pm
drove perfectly in the hour before my test then failed within minutes of leaving the test centre, and knew i had but still had to do it all anyway (including a 3 point turn on a steep downward slope, thanks very much you wanker)
get message from friend saying her DS has a virus which means that Joe's ongoing diarrhoea and grumpiness is viral too
i also feel like shit so have probably got the same thing
no doctor's appts for today of course, not even for a little one

load of fucking shit.

Ann let's not overanalyse things here, your P was just being a wanker so do make sure you set him straight with a frying pan.

Miamla · 13/03/2009 13:24

oh Cyteen, i'm so sorry to hear you didn't pass. you sound like you could do with a hug..

GreenGardenia · 13/03/2009 13:28

Oh no cyteen what a pain in the arse. Sorry bout that.

You will never guess wtf I have been doing this morning when I ought to have been working, only bawling my eyes out at this Geordie singer singing Dance to Your Daddy. I have no fishermen in the family and am not pregnant, so not sure what excuse I have .

Going to this tonight, even though I have no idea wtf it is.

Miamla · 13/03/2009 13:29

lol, i'm off to google "dance to your daddy"!

GreenGardenia · 13/03/2009 13:34

You know, thou shalt have a fishie... viz.,

Sausageandmash · 13/03/2009 13:36

cyteen - soory it went badlt - i failed my first test, almost immediately like you (was flummoxed by a set of temporary traffic lights), and it was so ridiculous going through the charade of the rest of the test.
And bloody embuggerance about Joe/you feeling rubbish and no docs. Hope something lovely happens for you this afternoon.
vg - enjoy your extravaganza of people on balls tonight (had a VERY quick look at link)!

GreenGardenia · 13/03/2009 13:38

cyteen wanna come to Dub for the w/e? You can see our aged Dumbledore/Merlin type doc and come to the extravaganza of balls.

poppysocks · 13/03/2009 14:00

Sorry cyteen . I failed twice and am sure I am a much better driver for the extra practice at driving properly, not as we all do in real life. Failed my first 30 seconds before the end and failed the second almost immediately and then again, and then again and then once more. That was a truly joyful half hour (and probably slightly terrifying for the examiner).

cyteen · 13/03/2009 14:05

Thanks for the invite GG but I think today's been enough of an extravaganza of balls for one lifetime

Cheers all, have cheered up somewhat now. Joe is helping me eat my lunch of M&S sushi and strawberries He got very angry when I ate the last maki roll

poppy I agree actually that failing a test is not a bad thing - at least I've done one now, it's out of the way and hopefully I'll be a bit more sanguine next time.

S&M it was a set of lights that did for me too, a right turn with an arrow that I'd never been through before - I panicked as the arrow wasn't lit and sat at a green light till it turned red again What a nob!

alittlebitshy · 13/03/2009 14:11

cyteen - v sorry i failed 4 times.....

GreenGardenia · 13/03/2009 14:14

cyteen as you have cheered up can I suggest that you do not buy, as I just have, an album called Bitter Ballads .

LoveBuckets · 13/03/2009 14:35

Cyteen I do that all the time!

Dizzy Why not do the comittee thing, get experience and training in all aspects of setting up/running a cafe? When it all gets too annoying, you can go start your own dream cafe for a different set of punters. You'll have more expert patter for the bank manager and if it takes a few years at least the childcare costs will be less.

LoveBuckets · 13/03/2009 14:51

Ooh! DH's raucous piratical Greek friend has just arrived for the night. DH will be ill tomorrow... Will try and get a pic of him for your delectation, he has the most amazing twinkly dimples.
