Not round here they don't! A absolutely loves Grandad Dog. In a very stalker-ish way, if you ask me. She has moved from Archie to Grandad Dog. Clearly, the child has issues.

elkiedee · 06/03/2009 13:02

Hi all, really just posting to bookmark as this fell off "threads I'm on". Hope your trip to Sunderland goes ok, AM.

AprilMeadow · 06/03/2009 15:09

Scan went well. Baby is very wriggly. They put me back 5 days which is total nonsense as i know my dates.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 06/03/2009 15:12

Sorry I couldn't take your call AM - the atmosphere is very odd in here today.

Glad all is well. They did the same thing with me when I was pg with L but they brought me forward 10 days. I knew my dates too!

Madness.

Countdown to 20w one now! I found the waiting between scans really tough, but I am a very impatient person!!

SKYTVADDICT · 06/03/2009 17:19

Congrats AM thats lovely. Hope you are starting to feel better soon.

Hope you all have a nice weekend x

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/03/2009 17:38

Hooray April, that is lovely news, congratulations! Now, tell us, did you see a willy?

Over to you now MKG.

I am on testing times with a friendship here, the same woman I posted about ages ago. I won't bore you all with it as I posted a mahoosive post in chat somewhere, but it has brought me down a bit.

AprilMeadow · 06/03/2009 19:15

Glad the scan went well AM

MKG ?? Still no baby ? C'mon for crying out loud !

Right - shoes for dd - any ideas where I can get some from please ? Clarks current selection is a bit meh and I don't want pink ! I'm sure I remember LG&T mentioning a great website on a previous thread but it was ages ago

Themasterandmargaritas · 07/03/2009 16:33

Tills, did you try the Clarks collection online? Often there is more there than in the shops and you can order it to arrive at a shop of your choice. I, personally prefer Start Rite. Yes I remember LG&T recommending a site, errrm but I can't remember it's name, sorry I'm not being much help am I.

Hurrah that it arrived LG&T! She may have to wait a while until it fits, I thought it would look cute when her red comes out.

How's the footie April?

How's the baby MKG?

Charley, how are you? I hope the presentation went well, fwiw, I would have liked to have been there, it sounds quite interesting to me

MKG · 07/03/2009 19:13

Hi ladies! I'm still here, still pregnant. Had a midwife appointment yesterday and nothing has changed which surprisingly is fine with me. Cruz has had a terrible fever on and off. I think his 2 year molars are starting to come in. I'm also just enjoying a few days of not having to get up and get ready for work.

Glad your scan went well AM.

MrsJM- I would put you up here, but I think that you would be horrified to be here with my 3 children and my slovely ways.

twelveyeargap · 07/03/2009 21:17

Scoot slipped in a very sly "Glad you're ttc [PinkJenny]. I am." on Fri 27-Feb-09 09:47:13 Only a few of us noticed!

Well done you.

I am on a detox. This is day 8. I have lost 5 lbs so far. I am feckin miserable though.

A is doing counting a bit. She has an aversion to the number 3, unfortunately. One, two, four, five and no matter how many times you slip in 3, she won't repeat it. She's quite good with colours. Still obsessed with Peppa Pig, thank you very much PinkLexie!

O is speed crawling around and doing a LOT of shouting. Argh. Driving me crackers. He loves climbing. I sit him in the widgey cushion on the floor and he rolls over and sort of "baby mountaineers" all over it. And he said "Da, da, da," to DH today whilst I was out, the little ingrate. There'll be months now of DH being smug because O can say Dada and not Mama.

Looking into having my kitchen certified by the council so I can bake for a living the occasional pair of shoes.

twelveyeargap · 07/03/2009 22:36

Did anyone watch that Margaret: The Road to Finchley programme about Thatcher? It was brilliant. Whatever your politics, she was an amazing woman.

The programme makers threw in a couple of hilarious jokes. There was a bit where the young Mark Thatcher grabs "The Jungle Book" from Carol and says, "It's stupid, when are you every going to go to the jungle?". Later he's talking about his father working in Africa and says, "Can I go to Africa, Mummy? I wouldn't make any trouble."

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/03/2009 07:52

at the Mark Thatcher comment.

Ooooo I can just see you, a younger prettier Nigella. Will you bake in pink fluffy mules do you think? Great idea.

Well done on the detox. How's the running? I've just done 13ks this morning but it was darn hot.

I too noticed how Scoot snuck in a little ttc. Good for you, the more the merrier that's what I say.

twelveyeargap · 08/03/2009 21:58

Don't envy you running in the heat. It's SO much harder. I did 7 miles today, so what's that, just over 11kms. Mind you, about 4 miles was in torrential rain. It was sunny this morning and just after I went out it clouded over and pissed down on me. I was so wet my earphones wouldn't stay in and I was absolutely freezing. I didn't warm up until nearly two hours after my shower. Brrr. I would have taken a waterproof if I'd known.

I'm pretty certain that 7 miles is the furthest I've run. Ever in my life I mean, so every long run is something of an achievement. I have in the back of my mind that I'd like to do the Dublin marathon at the end of October, but I'll have to see how it goes. I know from DH doing London a couple of times that the training is quite intrusive.

I got all my bits waxed this morning and had a lovely relaxing facial and then did the run. I think the other way round would have been better!

twelveyeargap · 08/03/2009 22:01

And I do everything in pink fluffy mules. Apart from running that is.

Actually, I do everything in these. I treated DH and I to a pair each recently. They're luuuvvly.

twelveyeargap · 09/03/2009 10:15

This is hilarious/ terrible. My grandma is a dreadful bigot. She sent a thank you card for the Christening party and wrote in it that she'd forgotten to tell me her friend's son had died not long after coming back from Thailand where he'd spend three months living with a Thai woman. I quote, "He was in hospital here for 8 weeks, come out and went in again, lost about 2 and a half stone and the port-mortem said Pneumonia, which can cover a multitude of things. I personally think he caught some disease from the girl as they are prositutes."

If she weren't in her seventies I'd probably have to have words. This is the same woman who asks random black/ Asian people where they are "from" and doesn't understand when they say, "Epsom."

largeginandtonic · 09/03/2009 14:17

at her TYG. I have a Nanny Glad much the same.

Nice slippers btw. I should detox for about 6 months to shed this fat. I am meeting the ultra glam Cod on Wednesday and the teeny tiny stunning Scoot tomorrow. They will laugh.

I have a shivering/not eating Hugs on the couch. SCOOT red alert about tomorrow. I need her mobile number somebody in case he comes down with some bug. Not what Scoot and the scooterlings need. Gah!

MKG you are all quiet, or are you in fact mooing like a cow I know i said Monday last week but it could have been this week.

AM how was the footie on Saturday?

OP posts:
Themasterandmargaritas · 09/03/2009 16:06

Lord love her. My fil, after spending most of his life in Africa, always asks any black person he meets in the UK, where they are from, you know, originally.

Those slippers look lovely and comfy dearie. In fact I really really want some of their boots for my 'cold' season in June, we had them before for the kids and they are fab.

Seven miles in the rain, that's awesome I popped out a quick 7k this morning and then did yoga at lunchtime, I'm bloody exhausted. It is soooooooo hot here just now, we are expecting the rains soon and its building up and up. The dc spent half an hour going up and down our water slide in the garden, J thought it was hilarious til his sister slid into him and bouf he was on his head.

LG&T, you always look glam. You have that annoying inbuilt sense of style. Fingers crossed for Hugs, give him a special squidge from me.

MKG, where are yooooooooouuuuuuuu?

AprilMeadow · 10/03/2009 08:39

Morning All

All this talk of running is very impressive.

LG&T hope you have a great time with Scoot and then with cod tomorrow.

Saturday was a very long day. Great fun though. Flew to Newcastle first thing and arrived just before 11am. Had had 3 breakfasts by then! Frosties at home, marmite and cheese panini at heathrow and then a cheese and tom one on the plane. Got picked up by taxi and taken to the house of the guy who had invited us. He is the vice chairman of Sunderland. Went to the ground and then taken out onto the pitch pre match to have look, get some pictures etc etc. As we were making our way to the hospitality Harry Redknapp walked out of the changing rooms and my Mum had her picture taken with him. Took our seats just before kick off and found that we were sitting not far away from Jamie Redknapp, Dwight Yorke, Niall Quinn (Chairman of Sunderland) and Daniel Levy (chairman of Spurs). We were 1-nil down within 2mins and were pretty awful for most of the match. Managed to claw a goal in the 89th min but no way did we deserve to draw. After the match we went into the boardroom and had dinner with Niall Quinn which was pretty cool. Headed back to the airport and was back home about 10pm.

MKG have you had that baby yet?

twelveyeargap · 10/03/2009 13:25

Lucky you, AM. Sounds fab! I have a soft spot for Niall "Scores with his head" Quinn. Fond memories of Ireland Vs Netherlands in Italia '90. Ah, the glory days of Irish Soccer. Jack Charlton (a very distant relative I might add) and Put 'em Under Pressure. I was 12 and I cried when we beat Romania on penalties and went through to the quarter finals. We lost to Italy in the next round. Schillaci scored the Italian goal. I couldn't tell you who played last week, but I remember that like it was yesterday. The whole feckin' country went bananas. Seriously, I'm welling up just thinking about it.

Trip to the out of hours doctor/ A&E with O last night. I'm knackered. High temp that wouldn't come down. His breathing went funny and his hands blue. Apparently they're things that happen when babies get a fever, but I didn't know and thought maybe his chest was at him. Once they'd upped the dose of paracetamol/ ibuprofen to suit his hefty 10kgs he was ok. Still narky today, understandably, but sleeping loads, which is always good.

I might be able to go to the premiere of Monster Vs Aliens tomorrow. Depends what time it starts and whether I can get a babysitter. Times like this you wish you had a family member nearby.

twelveyeargap · 10/03/2009 13:32

Oh, guess what fell out of our travel cot? J & E's Disney forks. Center Parcs put them in with the cot. Shall I post them to you?

AprilMeadow · 10/03/2009 13:39

Ah, i have been hunting for those, thinking i had lost my mind! That would be great if you dont mind.

Poor little O, how is he feeling now?

Just been to the hairdressers and have damson coloured hair with a slightly lighter patch underneath.

twelveyeargap · 10/03/2009 13:50

Could you FB me your address again? I had a clear out of my inbox.

AprilMeadow · 10/03/2009 13:52
