Tilly have been wondering how your DH is doing.

He's not bad now thanks Jam. He didn't sleep very well and was very "quiet" (for him) for the first few days but seems ok now. Because his friend wasn't local, he didn't see him that often but they met up about once a month for a big ride and they all go on a boy's cycling weekend every year - I think that'll be very strange for all of them this year

Jam - as soon as I figure out a way to get people to stop calling L 'Alexia' or 'Alexi', I'll let you know.

SOH - L gets all her colours right too, she just doesn't like it when we make her 'perform', and deliberately says the wrong colour. Oooh, she's a tinker, that one.

Tilly, it is really such a sad time, wishing you and your dh strength.

J can count, sort of in the right order, it depends he if he is coming down the stairs or not. More importantly he knows all the words to Rolf Harris' dodgy songs. Colours pah, forget it. These girls, they are much more advanced. He does however say 'Pass the honey' and 'bbc please' at breakfast time. He does love listening to Focus On Africa.

Jam, it's always tricky getting sassenachs to pronounce that 'ch' right. I have absolutely no tips though sorry. It drives me bonkers when people talk about 'Barney' when that is not his name at all. Could you get the in-laws heavily pished one night and make a game out of trying to pronounce it right?

Deacon is just starting to settle a bit more now. Im actually getting a bit more than 2hrs sleep a night and hes going about 3hrs between feeds instead of hourly. About time lol

DH had a sudden death on his very first day at work. The chap (dropping in lost property) had a massive heart attack in the station office. He had to go and tell the wife (baptism of fire) who was away on a conference and the door was answered by their 16yr old dd. Obviously dh had to tell her as a police officer turning up on your doorstep makes you assume the worst. He got a neighbour in to sit with her first. He came home shaking. He says that even if you knock on a door for an innocent reason, the blood drains from the answerer's face. I couldn't do it. Even in a year he's seen some horrid and distressing things. Mostly involving children which is obviously his weak point being a newish Dad.

Speaking of PCPlod, he's just phoned as I type. A man he was arresting has set a dog on him. DH with the force doctor. FGS.

Aaargh think i spoke to soon about Deacon. Hes been awake and either feeding or crying since 4.30. He just wont settle :-(

SOH hope dh is ok. My fil was attacked by a dog just before christmas. It almost took a huge chunk out of his upper arm but he managed to beat it off. His arm was black and blue for weeks. Luckily hes quite strong i dont think a child would have stood a chance.

Looks like i will have a nice drive down to see LG&T today.
