Just popping on before bed. Have stuffed 200 envelopes since last post and now have a crick in my neck.

TS That's worrying news about your DH, hope he pulls his socks up soon. I'm sure you'll have him programmed by the weekend.

I'm fecking Annabel Karmel, me. Made cheese sauce with soya milk and 'Cheezly' and did it with tuna and pasta and both kids ate it ALL! In fact DH didn't even comment either, was really quite passable (with proper cheddar sprinkled on top). Then DD at a whole pot of Fruitini mixed fruit in juice - up til now she has always hated tinned peaches or mysterious fruit pieces. Stickers all round.

Wishing everyone a good night's sleep.

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 22:56

sazz, if you take some lactolose it will get to her through your BM and should help - had to take it after having DD1 and good lord it works!

LoveBuckets · 26/02/2009 22:57

Sazzles I've never worked out how to hold my breath underwater myself! Always blow my air out way too quickly.

sazzles when I did the under water photo shoot with dd, I found it really bizare as I was thinking I had to take a deep breath in and then go under with her, but I had to blow all my air out then go under.
I was shiteing myself as not confident in water best of times.
Was wondering how the hell that would work.

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 23:00

right I said AGES ago I was off to bed so I'll speak to you all later, night all

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 26/02/2009 23:01

Night all

longwayfromhome · 26/02/2009 23:08

sazzles thanks for the swimming advice, will try in the bath and report on any progress (very good suggestion that, to try it in the bath, I hadn't thought of it, and if it is a disaster then it doesn't matter because he is only crying at home). Thank you as well for the sensible buggy advice, although I think that I preferred no1's hint that it was available on ebay, more. In fact there is one at £62 in an auction that ends in 12 hours time ... although on a sensible note shipping and customs would still be a nightmare, and raise the cost anyway. Pah. I should have thought of this all when I was in England.

Morning everyone.
Breakfast is on the table - egss, bacon, toast, choice of tea or coffee.
Hope everyone had good nights, and your LOs are still blissfully asleep.(Mine is) unfortunately DP decided to do his million alarm snoozes this morning. A whole sodding hour of an alarm going off every five minutes was more than enoughto make sure I was wide awake by 7am. I did stay in bed in a vain attempt to get a little more sleep, but ho hum.
Anyhoo. Enough whinging.

sambo303triesforScotland · 27/02/2009 08:30

mmm lovely aroma of bacon
thanks ann

sorry for that omission last night dizzy - ataraxis dizzy got the triple crown for her white chocolate mud cake (see the home page) she is famous!

lwfh my dp is hoping the dunking will stop any hairwashing problems later too if ds is used to water over his head. My ds does not anticipate the dunking though (one term in) because he's too busy nosing at everyone else when I give the command and spends the entire lesson splashing everyone near him. He comes up spluttering every time. Cute though

our night was ok. going to nct lunch later - walking 6 miles there and back, luckily it looks like a beautiful spring day outside

LoveBuckets · 27/02/2009 09:37

Well done you Sambo, 6miles not to be sniffed at.

I am pubbing it in roughsville sans enfants tonight with some NCT ladies, preceded by a 40min busride all around town with my book - bliss! (Stupid enormous common + stupid river = stupid town v difficult to cross by public transport)

Quite stiff today having spent at least an hour with Kurt on my chest in the night.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 27/02/2009 09:50

i've had some sleep so feel a little bit more normal now. albs saw the washed-out, sleep deprived me yesterday! my head was so foggy i couldn't think straight!

DIZZY!!!! WHEN'S YOUR DENTIST APPOINTMENT? A toothless hag is not a good look for anyone (is that incentive enough?) sorry if i've missed that you've been to the dentist already!

hmm, what else was i going to say? haven't a clue!

dizzydixies · 27/02/2009 09:57
MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 27/02/2009 10:05

well done Dizz, you know it'll be worth it in the long run
i've got mil's parents popping over from wales for the day today. i have so much hidying to do still. how about we try and keep calm together?

i remembered what else i was going to say... LWFH where did you get married? (sorry, i had a nose through the other photos on the link you put on here and the church door looks v familiar!) [stalker emoticon]

dizzydixies · 27/02/2009 10:06

my daily desk top calander has wee ditties on it every day. this is todays

'Family is just an accident..... They don't mean to get on your nerves. They don't even mean to be your family, they just are' Marsha Norman

no dear God if that isn't going to have to be my mantra for the weekend then I'm not sure what is

PetitFilou1 · 27/02/2009 10:08

lwfh sazzles description of babyswimming is good but agree with her, not to be attempted in the bath! It has to be a certain depth. Also it is not just a dunk it is a kind of slow dip, hold for 1 2 3 then slowly bring baby up again - if it is too quick it doesn't activate their dive reflex (the thing that makes the epiglottis come down and shut the airway) I don't like the idea of you attempting this without seeing an instructor do it first tbh - think you could make yourself upset!

sazzles Will look for belly pork recipe - is pork ok to be reheated though? dh will be slavering

TS I hope your dh gets the message and makes some lifestyle changes. Mind you, considering dh is a cardiologist and does 0 exercise, is slightly overweight and getting worse and eats too much cheese and meat and not enough fruit and veg - he could also do with taking some of his own advice At least he is not a smoker and only a light drinker. I assume your dh doesn't smoke.

LoveBuckets · 27/02/2009 10:11

Dizz you only have to watch 10 Years Younger to know we're right. It's like people take out all their feelings of low self-worth on their teeth. You are a beautiful person and you deserve to have happy teeth. And surely childbirth has toughened you up a bit? At least you get anaesthetic at the dentist without having to write an essay on why you deserve it.

PetitFilou1 · 27/02/2009 10:15

buckets Agree re 10 years younger - and it is the best anti smoking ad I've ever seen - heavy smoking makes your teeth/gums look like they belong to a homeless person.

dizz We will hold your hand

AnnVan · 27/02/2009 10:22

Ok - am going swimming with MIL and SIL today. So need to try find a swim nappy for little man. Will have to be dispo at this point - which are best?
Also need to find MY swimming costume.

PetitFilou1 · 27/02/2009 10:33

annvan Huggies do disp swim nappies - don't think there are other makes (at least none I've seen!) They are fine though and Tescos etc stock them.

dizzydixies · 27/02/2009 10:41

ann I think I've some Boots own nappies for swimming but I could be mistaken and the could be from when DD1 was tiny lol

pf I fear hand holding may not be enough - I think collective positive thinking will be needed to let me cope with inlaws AND lunch with my dad - buckets very kindly gave me some advice which I am desperately going to try to keep a hold of

although, downstairs of house still needs a lot little work so I'd better get off here and go and do it

dizzydixies · 27/02/2009 10:45

dentist on Mon 9th march - will just have to keep away from everything cold until then!!!
