dizzy ditto Fil always rings at bedtime/bathtime when I'm solo as does my youngest sister (despite repeatedly being told this is not a good time)

News for today
dd has had bum wiping lesson from ds1 (quite funny to watch
ds1 wishes 'I could see my own bum' - well don't we all?
dd has had 'haircups'
ds1 ate an apple - the whole thing - woo hoo - this is a Major Step Forward

sibh I have sent you the money (you will know what I am talking about)

vg Where is your FB article published? I would like to read it

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 26/02/2009 19:55

pertelote, oh, he's fine. i discovered the magic of a mummy cuddle today, made us both feel better! how are you and Marianne? hope you're managing to escape the germs and not getting cabin fever

sambo, you're welcome round here whenever you like esp if you'll do some tidying here!!

petit, actually, i was quite pleased i couldn't see my own bum during child birth (sorry to all those who are eating and MNing!)

Sausageandmash · 26/02/2009 20:04

PF - I get fab ones like that from my 4 year old.

Yesterday she returns from her nursery and tells me all about the shapes she's been looking at, like a Cylinder. And a Sophia...... cue much scratching head from me.

Today I see the wall chart of shapes they are working through. So that'll be a sphere will it?!

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2009 20:07

hi
i am alive. missing all of you. trying to catch up. sorry for all the sniffling babies and multi-wakeups. totally at cyteens hen house. purchased this bathing suit but in black plus two more one black and one half black/white polka dots with black bottoms. All three interchangeable. I too now am close to being ready for the beach with Sazzles. Where is she with her new do???

DD1 better but I'm moody now. Reese not happy about her teeth. DH officially has early signs of heart disease...he followed that announcement off with a mcdonalds sausage biscuit this morning.

{{{hugs}}} all around.

now out to get a quick run/walk while reese sleeps and dd1 plays in the yard.

dizzy i bought that arnica a few weeks ago (had it in waitrose) - as i remembered you telling us about the magic of arnica. It says not for under 3s. why? and should i ignore that?

AnnVan · 26/02/2009 20:22

dizzy sorry I had a £4 reserve - item not sold
He eventually had a nap.I lay down or 'half an hour' only to wake at nearly 8.

Think Tonight's going to be ineresting then

PetitFilou1 · 26/02/2009 20:24

sausageandmash can you explain to me though how my 3.5 year old dd knew that her brothers swim nappy had 'splash' written on it? I was a bit floored by that I have to say. Is she a child genius?

lol at 'sophia' for sphere

TS What on earth is a McD's sausage biscuit - don't think they have those here but they don't sound good for you! I do hope he gets some good treatment. My dh is at your service if opinions are required.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 26/02/2009 20:32

s&m I just love that 'sophia' bless.

sambo well done on tidying

ann I would gladly take another, even though ds is still awake. very unusual to be still up after 7.30. sniffles/teeth I think.

Managed to get out today, (shopping again)
bought a lambskin for ds.
poppy hope little poppy had a lovely day.
dizzy now I really want to make that cake.

sazzles are we going to see the new look???
pf genius yes.

poppysocks · 26/02/2009 20:33

More family members who only ever call at bedtime here too. Why? Why? Why?

LOL at the lovely child chat. Can't wait to get more of that over the coming years.

Hope L enjoyed this afternoon dizzy. We were absolutely knackered when we got home! All passed of relatively trauma free, although just as we arrived the birthday girl took a dive from the birthday table bench. You will all be pleased to know though that dizzy and her arnica were on hand.

Suspect the day would have been slightly easier had I not woken up feeling rather red wine groggy. By the time DD1 has her fourth birthday I'm sure I will have FINALLY sorted myself out. The day will certainly be easier to handle too I'm sure. I will remember that.

Good luck with the hidying tomorrow dizzy as well as the ILs. I'm only a faux-crisis away.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 26/02/2009 20:34

ts very fancy bikini!

pf child genius? definitely!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 26/02/2009 20:34

sister just text to say her and kids are watching ten years younger.
She asked them if they could change 1 thing about her what would it be??
Her boy said make your hair a darker lighter brown.
sis says why dont you like my hair blonde??
he replys yes but you just have too many blond moments.

pmsl so very true

sambo303triesforScotland · 26/02/2009 20:37

Someone mentioned maria2007 - was also thinking we had not heard from her for a while, I was so hoping to meet her as she really helped me with her schedule when I was at a low ebb. Hope we have not frightened her off!

ts heart disease very frightening. I'm guessing a mcdonalds sausage biscuit is like a lard enhanced sausage roll?? Do we have these in this country yet? Hope not!

miamla may take you up on that offer, can throw in a bit of tidying - I quite like tidying other peoples houses it's just my own that lacks appeal.

AnnVan · 26/02/2009 20:49

I'm ashamed to admit ladies, that in my family I am th eone who always rings at dinner/bath/bed time. I have a knack for it. I don't know how I do it. DOesn't matter who I phone, it's always a bad moment, even when I ring friends. My sister has now told me what times not to call so that's helped wrt to her at least.

AnnVan · 26/02/2009 20:54

ok - I just did it again1- Why does she tell me that by 8 they've got the girls to bed, and eaten etc so it's ok to call after 8, but now I've called at 8.50 - the're just about to eat dinner

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 20:56

did M have a good day Poppy? L was in the best form she was in all day in the car on the way home playing with her balloon and 'monster' from her party bag easily pleased when she finally decided to stop playing at chicken little

sambo was wondering about maria2007 too, hope her dental work went ok. re you not of the Poppy and Dizzy mini meet ups?!?!?!

ALBS I cover my lot in either that or the cream whenever they have a bump or bruise - which is a lot I don't take much heed of the not for under 3's but then I'm not really the best example of motherhood considering all our calamaties!

TS what are the early signs of heart disease - am off to poke and prob at DH seriously though, what needs to change? am sure you'll keep him on the straight and narrow

Ann am going to report you to ebay - there was no reserve

STILL don't have my roundup [harumph] and I forgot to tell you I got a phone call from some snooty mare at BambinoDirect today asking me when I wanted my high chair delivered told the cheeky mare that no indeed I did not

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 20:57

Ann don't feel bad about that one, dinner at 8.50 not normal

PetitFilou1 · 26/02/2009 21:02

dizzy It is normal in our house

Right, I need two stew recipes that I can freeze and cook for dd to take to nursery with her for her dinner. Purleeease. I am not a meat eater so I am not good at this sort of thing. Her favourite thing is lamb btw.

PetitFilou1 · 26/02/2009 21:06

dizzy cholesterol and bp test will tell you if dh is at risk of heart disease (along with family history) Am trying to persuade dh to go for cholesterol test as his dad and all his dad's sibs (there are 6 of them) have high cholesterol...... However I am failing - he says he will go when he is 40.

AnnVan · 26/02/2009 21:10

ok dizzy he's yours. Need to sort out P&P how much to ship a baby to scotland? Hope he doesn't get lost in the post.

DP not back rom work yet.

sambo303triesforScotland · 26/02/2009 21:11

ds did swallow some parsnip as it appeared this morning in undigested lumps - does this mean he should not be on solids yet as he cant digest (sorry if that's a dumb question but I am in uncharted territory). Also wondering if the lumps aided his sleep as he slept from 11pm to 3.45 (one of his longest ever sleeps) last night.

sambo303triesforScotland · 26/02/2009 21:12

ann a small package is about £6

PetitFilou1 · 26/02/2009 21:19

sambo No it doesn't mean that - I think Gill Rapley mentions that in her book (from memory). I have a feeling she suggests that the purees also come back out to start with just less obviously iykwim

One meal a day has definitely helped Toby's sleep. He is just waking up once in the early morning now (fingers crossed) He is eating quite a lot though (I think probably the equivalent of a small jar and a half) plus usually four bfs in the day.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 26/02/2009 21:51

My goodness Marcus only just gone to sleep
He has cried a lot.Bless.
Mind you he is asleep in his carseat. Not even sling worked.
I was supposed to be waxing, epilating having a soakin the bath etc...
dh off to work in 5.
Just drinking hot honey and lemon.
Hope evryone is ok.
No sign of the new hair do yet then??

Have appointment with paediatrician tomorow.

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2009 22:03

Miamla thanks. I was actually channeling you when I purchased my three. I could see you sporting them each as well.

PF thanks. I just might take you up on that offer. And yes, yours is a GENIUS!!

Dizzy my dh has a family history of heart disease firstly. His grandfather died mid-50's after a heart attack. DH has been dealing with high cholesterol for years. It was ME that made he get screen a decade ago. Now our new doctor sent him for a CT scan showing mild plaque build up in his LAD (left anterior descending artery) aka the WIDOW MAKER!!! The doc was not forceful but direct. He said the worrying will begin in 5 to 8 years (he's 40 now). Exercise and diet could turn things around but that takes commitment. We are meeting with a nutritionist after spring break. He's also abit jiggley mid-body.
