Good title soph!

Soph73 · 05/02/2009 12:08

Good grief my 'puter just let me put all that information in a message

OP posts:
Soph73 · 05/02/2009 12:12

Yes, I thought so too Ellie. Unusual for me though as I'm useless at things like that! Must be having a good day

OP posts:
EllieG · 05/02/2009 12:18

Heaps of the people on the list aren't around anymore are they? Perhaps they're all off spending quality time with their kids

Soph73 · 05/02/2009 12:20

I know, how dare they!

OP posts:
EllieG · 05/02/2009 12:27

Righto - off to make the Mollster's lunch before she wakes up. She's having liver and onions/carrots today as is v good for her but smells like cat food to me. Yuk yuk yuk.

Soph73 · 05/02/2009 12:32

I love liver & onions & fortunately so does the rest of the family - Sam's only had it once though but it went down a treat (just like everything else). May have to do that over the weekend. I'm off for my chips now

OP posts:
bumpkin32 · 05/02/2009 12:44

Oooo - chips, that sounds yum. Not so sure about liver tho!
Well got my period today so def not pg and no need to get test. Still, gave me and dh the chance to chat about another one and he doesn't seem as negative as he did (maybe it was just the shock i might be).
Raining here so washing away the last of the snow .

KnitterInTheNW · 05/02/2009 13:16

yuck yuck yuck to liver and onions... says the vegetarian! Actually I can cook most sorts of meat for others, but just can't cope with the smell of liver at all.

Who was it who said they couldn't find groups to take their lo to on their day off? Was it Ladybee? I was searching for stuff to do here, and stumbled across lists of things to do all over the country on netmums. I'm not swearing, mentioning nother site am I?

Snow's all gone again here, too.

When George wakes up from his nap we're going to mothercare to get his next size car seat. He's nowhere near needing it yet but the one we want is 20% off. His shoulders are getting too wide for his baby car seat, but still got a good couple of lbs to put on before he can go in the bigger one. And he only put on 2.5oz in the last 3 weeks despite eating loads, so I think it'll be a while yet!

Congratulations/commiserations on getting your period bumpkin, delete as applicable!

Soph73 · 05/02/2009 13:18

As usual, too many chips...... but they were yum! Made from real potatoes too, not the frozen ones. Which of course means you can eat more as they're real potatoes.

Bumpkin - oh well, at least you're talking about another one so when it does happen your DH won't pass out through shock

OP posts:
Soph73 · 05/02/2009 13:21

There is no other site is there??!!!

OP posts:
LadyBee · 05/02/2009 13:41

yup, was me Knitter. Will take a look at other site.
What is the carseat that you're getting?
I'm currently trying to sell our heap of shit-- car, but we will eventually get another so need to start thinking about this.

TheShipsCat · 05/02/2009 15:32

Hello - what has happened to MN? It's all so different...
I haven't read all the other thread, and been absent for a while, so I hope everyone is OK and LOs are doing well.
I did just see VS's pic of Alex in the snow. How many babies are walking? And crawling? A is the most adorable little thing, but she has absolutely no interest in moving at all, which, to be honest, is quite good for me!

Soph73 · 05/02/2009 15:37

TSC - hello there, long time no see. Hope you're all well. I'm still struggling to come to terms with this new look as well. I know it's a bit different with Sam but he's not up and around yet, although I think he'd like to be. He does like to try and launch himself out of things now by throwing himself forward, which is always a bit hair raising.

OP posts:
TheShipsCat · 05/02/2009 16:01

Hi Soph. Well done Sam! That's more than A does... if she can't reach something she wants from the position she's in, she just finds something else to do instead...

VictorianSqualor · 05/02/2009 16:12

Alex has been in his next stage car seat for a while, he was just too big for his first stage one. We have one that was 0-3stage for DS1 anyway which can face back or forward so he is in that.

Ellie, that is fantastic. As long as the baby is not losing weight, having plenty of wet and dirty nappies and alert, plus Mum isn't experiencing pain and discomfort when feeding then all is exactly as should be

Soph73 · 05/02/2009 16:16

TSC - she sounds like me when I was a baby. I didn't walk until I was 2 1/2 I never shuffled or crawled either. My Mum was coming to the end of her tether & went to phone the Docs for an appointment. She turned round and there I was right behind her as that was the day I decided to get up and walk. By all accounts she nearly passed out I was one big, fat baby cos I was so lazy ..... oh yeah, nothing much has changed then

Sam's also been in his second stage car seat for a while. Like Alex, he was just too big for the first stage one.

OP posts:
TheShipsCat · 05/02/2009 16:19

wow, Soph - your poor mum must have got really tired of carrying you! But actually, 'cos we live in a dangerous and not-very-child-friendly place, if A didn't walk till 2.5 that would work quite well!

Soph73 · 05/02/2009 16:39

She never had to carry me that much as she knew that if she put me down in one spot I'd be there until she came to get me again I think she also used to put me in the buggy quite a lot so she could just push me from room to room.

OP posts:
TheShipsCat · 05/02/2009 16:43

lol at buggy from room to room

bumpkin32 · 05/02/2009 19:52

My LO has been crawling for a while now, and pulls herself up at any given opportunity. Has had no desire to take first steps yet tho, and happy to wait for another few months for that!
Went shopping for next size clothes for her today and all I could find was summer clothes!!!
Am I right in thinking that changing to the next size car seat is based on LO's weight? I know she'd love to have a seat facing forward, but she's quite small and figured she's not going to be big enough til about 1.

bumpkin32 · 05/02/2009 19:56

Oh and can I add myself - I seem to have dropped off!

Partly weight and partly age.
It's to do with the strength of their neck muscles apparently, too young and they are at risk if you have to break.

SalLikesCoffee · 05/02/2009 23:40

Hey guys! What, one day of pointless meetings hard work and I come back halfway through a new thread!

Love the pic, VS.

Peachy. [whispers: only saying that as Ladybee knows where I live and I'm scared ]

Well, nice to hear everyone's busy and happy. Here just normal stuff. Rather tired, so off to bed now. Night all.
