Hello everyone

Mimi is ill, bit of a viral thing, high temp and tons of snot, i had NO sleep last night (well 4 hours) but i dont mind, poor thing.

My arms ache, first night of thai boxing last night. I LOVE it! was so worn out, its so much fun!

And im applying for a job i have seen at a nursery this week too. (just cos i want a job, will help self esteem and social things i htought)its PT too which is great. Don't hold out too much hope, but its the experience isn't it iyswim

Sal im glad you're all sorted again!

SalLikesCoffee · 14/03/2009 10:43

Oh wonderful, Scorpio! I'll keep everything crossed for you. When is the closing date for appications?

Poor Mimi (and you). What a load of viruses seem to be going around now?!

VictorianSqualor · 14/03/2009 10:54

Good luck scorpio, if it was anything like my job interview they bit my hand off down to my experience and confidence.
Not sure if I said but I was originally due to start this tuesday but called them and said I had childcare issues and hope to start in April... they are keeping my job open for me until I can start, it's up to me, and they keep asking me to go full-time. In childcare experience is a million times better than a qualification, and you've already got the plus that you're starting your quals as it is.

SalLikesCoffee · 14/03/2009 11:00

Great news, VS, must be such a relief!

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/03/2009 11:02

Closing date end of next week, but CV is harly long, lol. Though they will be able to see i have 3 dc and have studied in that time, so hoping that a big plus. I think thats true VS about experience.

Will you really want to work FT? Thats good that you can wait until April if you want to, i think its important that panda goes where you are comfortable with, deffo. Mimi will stay in her nursery. Job is in local private school nursery (well they are advertising for plurals iyswim, so hoping that my age/dc experience may win at least one job lol)

Have been so busy forgot to do tesco shop, DH away and no delivery until tomorrow 12-2! have bread and milk, going to go to chippy later

VictorianSqualor · 14/03/2009 11:16

Anyway you can get a quick st.johns ambulance first aid course in between now and then?
See if there are any in your area, they are normally only a few hours long, helps bump the CV a bit.

I don't want to go full-time yet, no, but it's nice to know the option is there for when/if I do want to. My hours (which I was allowed to choose) are going to be from 10-2:30 mon-fri, that way I have plenty of time to get the kids off to school/childcare before I start and once I'm driving alex will only be in childcare from 10-3, until then he'll be in 9-3:30, but only 3 days a week as we have DP's shifts from now until february we were able to work out childcare around his shifts, so two days a week he has him (plus the others in holidays) three days a week childcare and then the weekend I have them.

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/03/2009 11:17

already still qualified from last time doesnt run out until end of year

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/03/2009 11:18

your childcare arrangements sound nice I'm hoping mine will be 3 days, max. Pref 2.

VictorianSqualor · 14/03/2009 16:23

Panda is still projectile vomiting...it's been a week..

KnitterInTheNW · 14/03/2009 16:56

Goodness VS, that's horrible. Poor little man and poor you.

SalLikesCoffee · 14/03/2009 17:26

VS, are you ok? Poor Panda. How long would this normally last? It's obvious you've got a lot of experience, I think I would have been mildly freaked out by now. Hope everything's back to normal soon.

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/03/2009 19:58

VS hope Panda ok

SalLikesCoffee · 14/03/2009 20:01

Haha Scorpio, seems you went into the Thai Boxing with your whole heart (and arms apparently!) Soon dh would have to be careful or you'll beat him up

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/03/2009 20:02

i always kick his head in anyway

yep my legs/knees are ok but my right arm hurts!

SalLikesCoffee · 14/03/2009 20:31

Hehehe

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/03/2009 20:41

One of my friends has announced a pg - due same week as my lost one. So odd to hear. Its her first too and totally not on the cards from outsiders point of view. She is just over 12 weeks and so chuffed, but i cried. She was going to public announce tonight (girly night planned but mimi ill so im in) so im so happy i wasnt out! She didnt know about me.

SalLikesCoffee · 14/03/2009 21:00

Can imagine this must hurt. Is dh around so that you're not alone?

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/03/2009 21:01

Well i cried earlier but i'm starting to feel very happy for her, after all she deserves one as much as anyone iyswim. DH is away but i cried at him and he made it better.

SalLikesCoffee · 14/03/2009 21:11

That's good - really glad that he's so supportive.

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/03/2009 21:12

I think he remembers too iyswim - the other day he said you would be 10 weeks now, etc, showing me he really does care and he lets me snot all over him when i need to

Just kinda odd to hear it from that friend and huge coincidence of same week!

SalLikesCoffee · 14/03/2009 21:26

Yep. I think sometimes we (or I anyway) underestimate exactly how much men hurt too. I think they just don't show it often.

chipmonkey · 14/03/2009 21:55

paranoidmummy! But very happy for you!

scorpio. That is so hard, hearing about your friend, especially as the dates are so close. Just as well you weren't on the night out, it would have been harder to put on a brave face. At least this way, you will be more prepared when you do see her.

SalLikesCoffee · 15/03/2009 09:02

Good morning. What a lovely day outside?! Am slightly annoyed with myself, as dh offered (well, does every Sunday morning) that I could sleep as late as I like while he plays with R, yet I couldn't lie in after 7am... I bet you this won't happen tomorrow morning when I have to get up for work.

Had a lovely day with dh and R yesterday. We went for a walk through Greenwich market, where I got all broody over little baby bits I bought for a friend's new baby. Then to Waterstones where we had loads of time for books and coffee while R slept away happily in his buggy!

Think I'm going to take R to this this morning, but not sure whether he's still too young. Think we'll get ready, and if we get there and he's obviously not going to enjoy it, will take the boat in to London or something. Other option is a city farm again, it's been a while since we've been and MommyHasaH's pics were so cool the other day!

PS: Oma, where are you??? I'd still love to meet you and Ladybee (and any other takers?) for lunch one day.

EllieG · 15/03/2009 20:33

Hey all!
I was busy yesterday and fri - I always seem to miss you lot these days.....or maybe you're all just avoiding me [paranoid emoticon]

scorpio - you snot away hon, is fine. When I lost my LO my SIL was due same day as me - we went to see them about 2 weeks after the D&C - I was still tired and hormonal, and although she was very sweet and not at all rubbing it in, I found it SO hard spending time with her - at one point she felt the baby move and I had to run off the toilet for a cry (she didn't know of course). So, my advice is, avoid pg people if you need to for a bit til you feel a bit better and stronger. Sorry, long winded.
thai boxing is great isn't it! Am so jealous!

VS - how is poor panda today? You must be worried about him poor little man

PM - yey! Girls are great!

sal - and at paed for you! Did I read right that she told R to shut up??!!! WTF! Why would she DO that?
(did you go to sing sunday? Looked really fun}

Hey everyone else! I have been chilling this weekend, though I think I may be due on cos Molly not going down for a long enough nap and my house being a mess put me in to a fit of near-murderous rage this morning, which passed after DH made me a cuppa

Has been luverly weather today - took Mol down to the beach and she ate sand

SalLikesCoffee · 15/03/2009 22:46

Hey Ellie! Have been wondering where you were hiding! Hehehe at Molly eating sand. You really should feed the poor child, you know? Sounds like a lovely day.

Didn't take R to sing sunday in the end, as the little lazy bum was sleeping longer than usual and I can't ever bring myself to wake him if he's sleeping so peacefully. Did however have a lovely day with him and dh. We went into Central London in the end, mainly John Lewis and Habitat. Habitat was supposed to be in search of a first birthday present for R's little friend, but couldn't find anything. We did however buy a children's batminton set (soft, with a net type thing and soft thingy (whatever the "ball" is called)). Had loads of fun playing with dh in the garden, with R laughing his silly little head off.

Oh, and yes Ellie - she actually said "shut up", in his face. It must have been really obvious I was pissed off (why I didn't say anything then I'm not sure and annoyed with myself about), as she then smiled at him. But you know when you just know someone is serious. I'm still in two minds about whether to do anything about it. I know I should probably just leave it, but it's just not right, she has no right to talk to a child like this. And he is 11 months, he's not loud just to piss her off now, is he? I'm tempted to call the hospital tomorrow, but not sure if they'll even care. Will probably brush it off as pfb-ish, and she'll most likely say we're talking nonsense or that it was clear she joked.
