Bless her, LG&T. I'm so chuffed, especially for you and Phin that you've got such a gorgeous little girl. Well done again. I don't know how you managed all those home births without a pool. I think it was the only thing that kept me going. You rock!
I am dying to come and see you, but will wait until you have all got to know each other first. Just let me know when is good for you.
Congratulations JL and well done on your VBAC. That's great news.
The decluttering has been FABULOUS. Really cathartic. Between that and the Berocca I have self-prescribed, (and the three days "off" while the nanny was here) I feel marvellous. This time last week I was in a dark, dark place. Now the house is clean and tidy and clutter free, I feel like my mind is less cluttered as well. Hoorah. It also helps that O slept from midnight until 7 last night for the first time in I can't remember how long.
I tell you what though, my children seem so much nicer when somebody else has listened to the whining all day. I put in 14 and 16 hour "work" days, but felt far less tired, because all I'd had to do with the children was bath and bed time. I didn't feel emotionally drained. It was quite a nice break. DH is away skiing "with clients" this weekend, so am considering asking him to take a day off so I can go to Center Parcs on my own. We'll see.
O is now only on one breast-feed a day. I settled on first thing in the morning, because it's the least stressful time of the day and we can enjoy it. Chose morning over bedtime also so that DH can take over and "do" bedtime sometimes. We'll carry on another couple of weeks and then see what happens. O is quite content with a bottle now and loves to throw milk everywhere drink from a trainer cup as well. It took me 11 months to get A to take milk from a cup.
Just waiting for O to wake up and I'm going to walk up to the village and buy a new frock, maybe from The White Stuff. I found a pair of brown boots and have nothing to wear them with.
The other day, I pulled out on old tunic dress circa 2006 and a pair of biker-style slut wellies and a chap in Tescos came over and said, "I hope you don't mind me saying, but you look really lovely in that outfit." I haven't been so pleased about anything in ages. He beat a hasty retreat when he saw the formula milk in the trolley, but I was delighted with myself. I must be getting my mojo back. DH kept telling me recently that I was looking well, but sure you never believe it 'til you hear it from somebody random.
