M2L - congrats on the scan and another girl how lovely they will be so close, my big two 18 months apart but more like twins as DD2 will not let DD1 do anything she can't. They do fight now they are 3 and 4 but wouldn't be without each other, you think you know it all having had one baby but then anotehr one comes along completely different to the first. Get yourself a nice Phil and Teds too.

poledra - poor puddingchef

bebejones - aww poor dribbling P. Bethany's crawling getting better today (now where's that stairgate........)

Oh Disney- You poor thing.. I hope that the DR can help you feel better ((hugs))

Isaidno- I tried the bepanthen cream today and it has def helped with the redness. I had a trial size freebee tube but bought more in Sainsburys today. I also tried looking for a tub of vaseline to give that a go but I couldnt find it anywhere! All other types of vaseline creams(handcreams ect) except the Jelly... You can still buy it cant you??

Jodie- Great news about your friend I bet she soooo happy

SK- Abigails got another cold too... It just seems one after the other at the mo!

M2L -Glad the scan went well. Another girl hey.. bless

Just spoken to Puddingchef on FB and trying to encourage her back to us

I think Abigail seems to be having a growth spurt! Shes downing all her 7oz bottles. Shes never been a great feeder so this is impressive and shes doing really well with her BLW. Shes started to actually "eat" food now. Scoffed 1/4 of a crumpet the other day and last night she couldnt get enough of the Lasagne I made last night, so my cooking cant be that bad! I was loading up spoons for her to feed herself and she couldnt get the spoon off me quick enough!

Still busy packing. Abigails been "helping" by holding the roll of parcel tape! She keeps trying to take everything back out the boxes... maybe she doesnt want to move!

Feeling really low today DH took some photos of Abbie last night and we noticed that in every one her left eye was white....dh had read of a case where a woman had diagnosed a tumour by looking at a photo of a baby with a white spot in their eye.

As you can imagine i spent all night worrying and couldn't wait to take her to the docs this morning. I thought the doc would say everything is fine...don't be so silly But she couldn't get a red relex in her left eye and although she said it was probably nothing she thought it best to refer her to a specialist

I asked doc if an optician would be able to tell me more and she said it would be a good idea to go to opticians for a check and she feels that the opticians will probably get the red reflex and be able to put my mind at rest.....I do hope so[sad I've got an appointment to take Abbie this afternoon.....

my imagination is running riot....must go and clean...therapy sorry for moan

Hope the opticians goes well for you, Even though it worries you to think of what it could be. When will you be seeing the spec?

Question for you ladies (have to be quick as DD 1 & 2 are painting!!!!)
DD3 now 8 months still waking for feed at night!!!sometimes 2. She eats breakfast (readybreak) Lunch (meat and veg, pasta) Tea (Fruit) and bedtime snack (toddlers crispies) now she eats more than DD1 & 2 and still wakes so its not that she is hungry!
Any suggestion on getting them of the bottle at night?????????????

Report
bebejones · 27/03/2009 11:42

Minipink - fingers crossed for you that the opticians goes well. P has to have her hearing re-checked at the hospital & that is a worry that they might find something there. Completely sympathise. Sending hopeful vibes that it is all ok for Abbie xxx

Momma23 - I'm afraid I have absolutely no suggestions! P sleeps well most of the time but is a rubbish eater! She hasn't had a night feed since about 3-4 weeks old!

Am having problems getting P to settle at nap/bedtime, she just cries when I leave the room & rolls over to watch me leave, but if I stay with her she thinks it's playtime & doesn't settle just babbles & thrashes around! Really worried (I am completely paranoid) because I keep finding her asleep on her front when I go in to check her or wake her up. She can roll back onto her back no problems & I have no idea if her sleeping on her front is still a 'problem' (she is nearly 8months) I do always put her down on her back. Should I be worried?

Hope everyone else is ok?

Report
bebejones · 27/03/2009 11:45

Must just add that once P is asleep she is ASLEEP! Just getting there that is taking longer than usual at the mo!!

sweetkitty · 27/03/2009 11:55

Morning ladies anothe rough night here too

minipink - chances are everything will be fine but us Mums do tend to worry a lot

momma23 - I have no advice about sleeping through the night, B is still up on a good night twice on a bad night well a lot. She has a morning feed, breakfast, BF maybe a snack, lunch, BF, dinner, BF and as many BFs as she wants at night.

beebjones - I would worry about her being asleep on her front, B has been doing it since about 3 months, there heads are strong enough now.

Bethany is all over the floor with her crawling, "helped" by DD2 placing her toys around the floor and shouting at her to "get them"

minipink how worried you sound honey, but just re assess the situ,
no one knows what it is yet,so try not to worry right now, abbie is gonna pick up your anxietys isnt she
i know how worrying it can be over your child.
how long do you have to wait to see the specialist? did the gp stress an urgency ?
im sure your abbie will be just fine hugs to you both xx

momma well samuel eats like a horse in the day and still has 2 7oz bottles at night but sleep feeds but he does want them,i think the older they get and the more energy they use they will sleep more and they will be tired naturally iyswim

bebe cant help im afraid as samuel cannot move from his back yet he still lies in one place like a newborn.
but with my others well in the 80,s we were told put baby to bed on there tummys and i did and yours is nearly 8mths and like sk said there heads are stronger now and there necks so it woudnt be a problem

got to go out now all the way out just to put money in the bank as i forgot to pay the council tax and i have to do it over the phone today. waste of money that is......
£180 a month i pay i think its way too high.

sk your dd2 sounds funny saying that to bethany and bethany getting them,
do you ever shorten her name to beth?

who does shorten there babies name as when there born most of us say like me he is a samuel not a sam
mostly i call him sammy or pickle 90% of them time pickle was my pregnancy name for him even the boys call it him

Rumpel- Im Cheryl

Minipink-Oh do sound down I'm sure that the optician will be able to put your mind at rest but can understnd that you would be worried. Let us know how you get on. (hugs)

Momma- Im hardly one to be giving at anvice as Abigail is still up once or twice a night. We had a week or 8-2/3-7 ish but lately with her being so hungry its been 8-12-5 Usually being wide awake from 5am (yawn!)
I was getting so stressed with the night feeds but just decided to go with it.... we will get there in the end!!! Fingers crossed!!!

Bebe- I started putting Abigail down for her naps on her front when downstairs on the floor cushion so i could watch her. I found shes sleeps much better on her front and is easier to settle and settles herself quickly if she stirs. I tend to put her down to bed on her back still but she always rolls onto her front. She would be this before but then cry. She now knows she can sleep in her front and goes back off. I too was worried at first but like everyone says they are perfectly able to move their heads and move if needed.

SK- Bless DD2 encouraging Bethany

Disney- Abigail has always been Abigail. She occasionally gets Abi from my mum but usually Abigail as thats what she hears us say all the time. Im sure it will be shortened to Abi when shes older.

Took Abigail swimming this morning which she loved. It completely wore her out and she fell asleep during her feed at 11.30 and shes still asleep now so ive been bsy packing.
Should wake her now before Lunch gets to late.

SK
That funny with your DD tellin her to get them!! Mine are the same way. Trying to get her to walk they are!! I walked in on the two of them holding her hands trying to get her up!!

DD1 did sleep on her front from about 8-9 months. She would have her knees up and arms in. What ever i did with her she would always go back to that position.

think i wil stay going with the flo and see if DD3 get out of night feeds herself. Fingers crossed!

Pigley - know what u mean about crying to begin with. P used to roll in her sleep & then wake up & cry coz she was on her front & I would go put her on her back. Now she rolls in her sleep & stays asleep. Have seen her 'pass out' on her front when trying to crawl, very funny!

Phoebe is usually Phoebe but she does get called Bee, Bebe (Phoebe-Bebe), Beeni or Monkey, but NEVER Pheebs! Really don't like it & had to put a stop to people calling her that straight away...I expect once she is at school she will get called it regardless of what I think!

Disney- When I was little we would have Easter egg hunts either in the garden or in the house depending on the weather. My dad would hide lots of mini eggs and creme eggs around the place. It was great fun With your brood it may get expensive so how about making clues to an egg each at the end?

Make an Easter hat. Making easter sweets- coconut icing or sonething. Easter nest from shredded wheat covered in chocolate with mini eggs inside.

-- Ohh i cant wait to get cooking with Abigail

Report
sweetkitty · 27/03/2009 15:16

We will be having an Easter Egg hunt here too, I wrap up a few wee presents as well, as B cannot have eggs I have bought her one of those Vtech First Step walkers, bargain at £15 in Tesco just now, she liked my friends DDs.

disney - we don't call her Beth but everyone in this house has nicknames, Bethany gets B, be-bop, Beths, Bethies . Our council tax £180 a month too

My Abigail is definitely an Abbie, on Wednesday when she had her school visit they specifically asked what she was to be known as, she prefers Abbie too, probably because she only gets Abigail when I am cross with her, I love both Abbie and Abigail. DD2 is Tals.

Oh bugger have migraine and still on here I know

Thought I would be OK didn't want to take painkillers but have the throbbing headache and shivers and sicky plus light is hurting me, got to get dinner overwith then DP will be home will go lie down if painkillers don't work.

GP has upped my ADs mainly for the anxiety it's really bad just now, don't want to go out anywhere

SK (((((((((hugs))))))) bet the horrid weather doesn't help either, always makes everything seem worse! It won't be forever hun, just hang in there, hope the migraine clears up quick too xxx

I am so cross, the gas & electric bill for the quarter just arrived....Gas bill was £470!!!! How?!?! We don't even cook with Gas, am so angry that it can be that much seems completely ridiculous. And it is always done on actual meter readings (they are always reading the poxy meter). The letter also has the cheek to say that if we pay within 10 days we will receive a discount of £6.25 off our next bill! £6.25! Who gives a crap about £6.25 if you are paying nearly £500?! The electric is over £200, its gonna clean us out, & we haven't even paid our 2 mortgages yet! Grrrrrrr Sorry to rant, have been to USwitch, we are defo changing suppliers!

SK - glad to hear your Gp has seen sense - I do hope you are feeling better soon. Mine is quite bad too at the mo' but I am absolutley positive that my hormones make mine much worse - premenstrual and when pg and menstruating. Roll on end of AF.

BEBE - grr you should enquire it does sound a bit . No abbreviations for Calvin just 'wee chappie' and Dh calls him 'buddy'. Could it be separation anxiety maybe coming back in quick pat, no eye contact several million times over a few nights might do the job? When you are wee yo hate going to sleep, when you grow up you can't get enough - the world is unjust! I remember when I was young and for a very long time I hated going to sleep as I had terrible nightmares and was terrified that my parents wouldn't be there when I awoke. I still get awful nightmares.

MINI - xxx hope all is well with littlie Abigail.(((( ))))

PIGLEY - I know you as i remember the chez bit, also SK, Disney, Tjuice, Jodie, Cilc everyone else I'm a bit with. sorry.

Right am off for a bath in peace then wine and bed. Dh is away from Sunday until Fri so I'll be on me tod with the terrible twosome NM meet on Tues then baby pics Fri so it will be fine, means I'll need to miss my bellydancing though as no sitters here.

Nite all. Sleepy vibes babies.

Hi all thanks for good wishes xx

Went to opticians and they asked to see the photos....they then agreed that it looked suspicious Anyway they put drops in Abbie's eyes and gave her lots of different checks and concluded that they felt fairly confident that everything was fine They want to see her again in a month but before that I will have the specialist app...doc reckons about a week to 10 days.

So I am very relieved but still a little anxious....very weepy at the thought of anything being wrong.......fingers crossed all will be fine xxx

Thanks for support guys xxxxxxxxxxx

I am back online at last, an engineer finally came to the house to find out what is wrong with the line, this has been going on since September, on and off. Talktalk make me so

Minipink, glad things are less worrying now.

It's so funny how the LOs are all doing the same sort of things - last few nights Bryony has been flipping over onto her front and screaming, hard to settle back down again. Usually she goes straight to sleep at 7ish but tonight she has been up and down because of the flipping over thing - think I've finally got her settled by sitting with her and combing her hair, it seems to sort of hypnotise her!

Bryony is so close to crawling, she's in position, she moves her knees, she moves her hands, then sets off backwards across the floor and falls on her tummy! The big advance today was getting back up off her tummy to sitting by herself, she had a big on her face afterwards.

Her nickname is Buzzy Bee, it was Thumper as she used to lie on her back and thump her feet on the floor. Most of the time I call her sweetheart, poppet, baby girl, etc.

Disney, I wasn't around to reply to your post earlier in the week about your embarassing bottom problem , but I think it sounds like piles probably, should be easy to treat. You do need to have a doctor check it out though to make sure it's nothing more problematic.
