pigley - great news

Rumpel · 23/03/2009 21:14

Hi All,

Soz not been on but been mega busy the last 2 weeks. Can't remember who said what now - have been reading through but hope all bubbas and Mummies/Daddies (wider family too) are weel.

PEANUT - how is wee Charlie doing these days?

Calvin is such a happy wee soul - he just laughs and smiles - we were giggling like mad tonight - he is very tickly Loves his grub - not sure about his weight/height now but he seems to have slowed down. still in the 12-18 month babygrows - just and in 9-12 months clothes now. Size 4 feet. he still can't sit up himself yet and hasn't rolled onto his tum - he hates it, although he can roll from front to back. No teeth yet but he is gnawing away so they are not far off. he can stand up himself - holding onto something and is 'walking' his feet if I hold him under the arms - very pleased with himself about that LOL.

It was our 6th Wedd Anni yesterday - my Mum came down a week ago and we went off to the Dunblane Hydro Thurs night sans DC - the first time we have been away all night together without DC. I've only ever left DD when I was in hospital having Calvin. It was fab - swim, steam, sauna, back/shoulder massage, rest, a hot dinner, wine and best of all PEACE and QUIET It was so nice we decided a long lie was a better option than brekkie the next morning LOL.
My Mammy took me out when the Dcs were in nursery on Wed and treated me to some lovely new clobber aswell - so I've been thoroughly spoiled this week, We put the Dcs handprints into plaster on a plaque for the Grannies Mothers day. I got a lovely bunch of flowers from Dc for anniversary and handprint cards for Mday made at nursery.

Went to baby pics last week which was novel. been out and about with the Mummies I have met through NM so it has been really good.
Still struggling with the weight though So nice to see the sun and the flowers ccoming up. DISNEY I love daffis too but my fabs are peonies - so pretty. Also love Poppies and cornflowers.

PIGLEY - yeah housemove.
KAZ - thinking of you.
SK - how are you feeling these days?
DISNEY - grr at inconsiderate parents - manners cost nothing after all. personally I think you were far too nice to your Mum for Mday take it slow let her do most of the bridge building and see how she goes.x
RED - glad to hear you have sorted out Ls probs - poor wee soul, and he is happy now.
GILLY - how are you - pop in and let us know as last we heard you were feeling bluexxx
JODIE - thanks for being so nice ((( )))

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Nite all sleep well bubbas.

Poledra · 23/03/2009 22:08

Evening all

Hi Rumpel good to see you again. Sounds like you've been off having a lovely time in RL.

Disney, you were way too nice to your mother for Mother's Day - she should be doing that for you rather than the other way around. Mind you, we as a family are very relaxed about Mother's Day - my mum reckons it's a big commercial racket, and we can send her flowers another time when it's cheaper . I got handprints from DD2 made at playschool and DD1 made me a card and bought (with her own money, mind) a little scented tea-light candle in a glass holder.

Pigley, great news on the house move - now the frantic packing can begin

Got a phone call from the GP this afternoon - the lab have worked out what is wrong with me! I have parvovirus, the one that causes slapped cheek syndrome - however, in 4/5 of adults who have symptoms, it causes joint aches which can last anywhere between a few days and a few months. The GP had called me mainly to make sure I wasn't pg, as it's dangerous in pg women. I'm going in to see her on Wed, but it looks like I can relax now and just keep taking the antiinflammatories until the pain goes away. The drugs have been working really well - too well in some ways - we were visiting friends yesterday, and I was boxing with DD1 on their Wii. Dear god but it made my shoulders hurt! I was a little worried as I spent Saturday with a friend who is 10 wks pg, but the GP said I was no longer infectious so couldn't have done her any harm [phew emoticon].

Kaz I know you said you didn't have time to keep up, but you don't have to read our posts if all you need is to talk to us about what's going on.

about the meet-up - enjoy yourselves.

Mummywannabe, how did it go with the HV? did you get the issues with the spacers sorted out?

Off to tackle my ironing now - at least I've got Saturday night's Casualty on the DVD recorder to watch.
Night all

Poledra · 23/03/2009 22:14

Oh, Disney forgot to say, I cannot believe how rude people are about children's parties. We had one little boy (just the one, fortunately) not show up to DD1's 5th b'day party on a Sunday. He was in school on the Monday, his parents made no effort to tell us why he hadn't come either in person or via all the contact details I had put on the invitations. Rude rude rude, as far as I am concerned.

Also Hi Peanut, how's Charlie and Mr Peanut these days?

disneystar · 24/03/2009 07:10

isaidno and jodie and shortsafe
sorry guys but im afraid i cant make it im so sorry
but samuel isnt breathing too well and and last night his lips and feet and fingertips were ice cold and very blue.
we already know hes in early stages of heart failure and i just cant leave him
i hope you understand.
i am currently planning his birthday party, and its taking an amazing amount of planning.i hope some of you can make it.

im getting quotes all over the place for the catering and entertainment, it will be a triple party for 3 children all with the same condition.and of course special for samuel before his huge operation.
was a bit sad yesterday a baby boy died who had the same surgery as samuel is going to have.
dh just took the paper of me. didnt say a word
hope you all have a lovely day.
its such a shame i cant make it but its just to far (60) miles and im too far away if my dh needs me quickly

Isaidno · 24/03/2009 13:13

ok disney - we understand xxx

poledra - I think I may have that parvovirus - both ds have had it and I've had really aching knees / arm for about a week (wearing off now).
I hadn't done anything strenuous and thought perhaps I'd slept funny... maybe not!

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 24/03/2009 15:53

Afternoon all Peppa Pig on for older two B asleep so thought I would catch up with you all, not much to report here, Bethany really funny at toddlers today I put her in a walker as I was on tea duty so she wanders up to a little boy sitting on his Mummy's knee and keeps staring at his toast. Had to get her some quick, I think she was working out how to steal it off him, she likes her food that's for sure.

disney - sorry Samuel isn't too great today, hope he is feeling a wee bit better soon

poledra - ouch poor you but glad you have a diagnosis and the drugs are working

rumpel - nice to see you and at your child free night, Calvin sounds a right wee character now too. I'm a bit up and down here been on meds nearly 4 weeks and don't think they are doing anything, I think I am on too low a dose for a start am only on 10mg because I am still feeding B but I have been reading around the net and the effective dose is 20mg, have telephone consultation with GP on Thursday to discuss.

sweetkitty · 24/03/2009 15:55

Oh forgot to tell you all Sainsburys are doing a 1/3 off all baby products including nappies, wipes, toiletries, food etc until 31st March, have stocke up on nappies.

Just about to order B one of those garish Vtech First Steps walker things for her Easter present as she cannot have eggs yet, we have a nice wooden walker thing with blocks but DD2 hated it and B took a shine to one in my friends house the other day. £15 at Tesco just now.

JODIEwantsanewname · 25/03/2009 06:36

Gosh it's quiet...

I just have a minute before i need to get ready, so a quick update..

DH has been skiing for the weekend so Mum came to stay and it was lovely, she flew back yesterday and I miss her already. Oh well, I fly out next Thursday with my friend for a nice weekend without the boys I can't wait, although I'll miss them like mad!

Sam is crawling mad now, he's so good at it bless him, he's very pleased with himself, although he keeps making a beeline for the dog bowls

Disney How's Sam now? When is his next appt, you had to rearrange last weeks didn't you?

Pigley How's the packing going?

Rumpel NIce to hear from you again x

My friend who lost her little girl at birth last year is going in for an induction tomorrow (she'll be 37 weeks exactly) and I'm so excited and nervous for her, she's having another girl and I can't wait for her to hold her in her arms for the first time, knowing she'll be able to take her home x

disneystar · 25/03/2009 09:47

morning all,
yes jodie samuel had a chest infection so now we are going in may for 2 days,

hes not well he goes very blue easily and we know surgery is not far away....

he still cant sit but when hes in his lay back chair he is trying to move up like pull himself forward an inch which is encouraging

ive got lots of bleeding from the bowel i mean lots like a period its been happening for a month or so,when i get of the loo the whole pan is just blood surely this isnt right,i have no pain there just the blood,i was going to try a soft laxative to see if maybe im constipated (i dont think its that tho) can you suggest a non harsh one.

Isaidno · 25/03/2009 10:28

go to the doctor disneystar - phone then NOW!
(and that's an order )

OP posts:
Poledra · 25/03/2009 10:46

Disney doctor NOW! That is not normal.

bebejones · 25/03/2009 12:24

I echo that Disney, phone the doctor NOW!

P's CTF voucher just arrived!!! No idea where to put it DH & I just don't agree. Given the financial climate he doesn't want to invest it in a share based account just wants a simple savings type one. I am of the opinion that we should put it in a stakeholder one as the economy (we would hope) is not going to stay like this for the next 18 years & we would potentially see a greater return on the investment if we went down that route! He works in financial services & I used to work for a bank so we do know the options just cant agree. Any suggestions?

The laxative the doctor gave P has definately had the desired effect, she hasn't had any since Sat, but I don't think I have changed a non poo nappy since Sunday!! Bless! Any tips on how to actually get her to drink water rather than dribble it down her front?

It's P's christening on Sunday so am off to my mums for the weekend (she is a vicar & will be baptising P). DH's brother is one of the Godparents & we haven't heard from him all week. DH has rung & txt & left messages to call about the weekend & it seems like he is avoiding us! Really worried that he won't show up & just gonna let us know last minute. Not sure what to do about it. Would be really typical. We had ppl just not show up at our wedding & not tell us they weren't coming, we were actually worried when they didn't show up. Also had about 40 ppl, yes 40, drop out of my 21st birthday party last minute aswell! Story of my life! Can really sympathise with you Disney on that one, it is just plain rude, especially if you are expected!!

Pigley, very exciting about the house move, hope the packing is going well!!

Must go wash my hair it is looking dis-gus-ting!! Hope everyone is ok, will pop back later!

sweetkitty · 25/03/2009 12:39

Disney - again another voice of phone the GP now, stop putting it off

bebejones - we have all 3 of our invested in a stakeholder account and top it up with a little each month, the depressing thing is we got DD2's statement in a wee while back and it's actually a lot less than what we have put in i.e. the value of the shares is less than if we had put the money under the matteress. But as you say 18 years is a long time and hopefully things will pick up, the good thing is by putting in a bit each month you are buying a load more extra shares whilst they are really cheap. I think stakeholder changes to savings only after about 13 or 15 years.

How lovely your Mum is christening P, hope it all goes smoothly for you cannot wait to see the pics.

Jodie - time for the stair gates, we always had one across the dining room and kitchen door as mine always made a beeline for the cats bowls too, Bethany is crawling, well with two arms and one leg but surprisingly she can get around quite quick.

Took DD1 to her school for a visit today, of course had to take the other two with me, B was very tired and crabby and wouldn't settle so had to carry her for 45 mins gurning oh and take DD2 to the toilet twice, was quite stressful especially when the other Mums/Dads/Grans were sitting having a cup of tea and a chat with the teachers.

Days like today it beings it home to me, really gets to me when you see Mum and Gran taking the DC to school and I have to take the 3 of mine as I have no childcare. Especially when you see Grans there and my Mum hasn't seen the DDs since before Xmas and has only seen B twice. Unlike Disney I am not so forgiving and got her nothing for Mothers Day, am still really annoyed that she didn't even see DD2 on her 3rd birthday or phone, just put a card in with the present my brother brought. She is only 54 and lives an hour away but is too lazy to make any effort there is always an excuse so I have also gone down that route and make no effort whatsoever with her, I know it's sad but this is after years and years of her just being toxic. I suppose she doesn't bother with B as she said I was stupid having a third baby and when I had a mc she said it was for the best as 3 DC would have been expensive

Sorry rant over

disneystar · 25/03/2009 13:27

phoned gp and going next tuesday first appt
as i wanted a lady doctor,

smudge123 · 25/03/2009 20:00

hello everyone,

Disney well done for phoning the GP, at least now it can all get sorted.

Hope everyone and their babies are doing well. Forgive me but havent been able to skim over the posts as i havent logged on here for months and cant face the pages upon pages of reading!!! Any major points ive missed???

pigleychez · 25/03/2009 21:36

Hi everyone,

Disney- Agree about seeing the Dr about that.. It doesnt sound normal to me!

Rumpel- Sounds like you have been having a fab time!

Poledra- glad they know whats wrong now and the tablets are helping.

SK- Thanks for heads up about Sainsburys. We shop there anyway but will be stocking up on nappies with the shopping on friday.

Jodie- I bet theres no stopping Sam now is there Abigails almost there! Shes desperate to crawl bless her!

Bebe- Ours CTF voucher is with the Childrens mutual if that helps... no ideas about it as DH sorted it but hes very savvy with his money!
How nice your mum will be christening P

Been busy packing things up. Abigails been "helping" by grabbing the boxes, trying to eat them and throwing them across the room!
I sat her in a box earlier which she loved.. Happily sat in it with a few toys for 30 mins which gave me some more packing time!

Need to pick you brains ladies.....
Abigail has had a cold for a while and is also very dribbly. She now has some sore patches on her cheeks from the snot and dribble. Ive been plastering her with Sudocream (looks like she has a white beard!) but its not doing too much really.
Also she has taken to chewing in her thumbs and forefingers on both hands which again have made her hands red and sore.
Anybody know of any miracle cures?? She looks rather scabby and unloved

pigleychez · 25/03/2009 21:38

Meant to say Hi to Smudge!

Hope you and your family are well... What have you been up to lately then?

disneystar · 26/03/2009 07:19

hi all,
well im phoning my gp as soon as they open as i had a terrible night
im in excruciating pain in my muscles my body is shaking my legs have tremors
i think its a build up to a ms relapse

i wish my dh were here.

Isaidno · 26/03/2009 08:22

poor disney; let us know how you get on at gp ((hug))

pigleychez - Poppy keeps getting a very sore chin / cheeks from teething dribble, and she sucks her fingers. I put bepanthen nappy cream on to make a barrier and find this helps alot, much better than sudocrem and not ghastly white! If it is getting very bad I also use some hydrocortisone (naughty because it belongs to ds1 - prescribed for his ezcema, but in my defence it is very mild and was one he was allowed to have before he was 12 mths, and I am very sparing with it!!)) and some diprobase which is a greasy moisturiser.
Hope the move goes well btw.

Hello smudge; don't think you missed too much - we waffle alot!! Mama2leah is pg - did you know that? She's waiting for a buddy if you want to join her!

No school here today as we have a by election and the school is the polling station, so I am taking all 3 dc on the train into Birmingham.
Poppy is also nearly ready to crawl; we think she'll be moving in a week or so.

SK - I understand about lack of family support - mine are all nice but live too far away, so every school run it's me with all the dc in tow. you get used to it, but if one's poorly / stroppy / tired etc you wish you had someone else to go for you!

OP posts:
JODIEwantsanewname · 26/03/2009 08:46

yeah Yeah Yeah

My best friend had her little girl this morning, she came out screaming. I'm so happy for her and her DP. I can't wait to give her (Friend) a cuddle and Baby a munch(she was a big baby though, 7lbs 8oz at 37 weeks, imagine if she'd gone full term!)

Disney Hope you get an appt at the docs, and feel better soon

Smudge Great to hear from you, what are you up to now?

Pigley I use vasaline as a barrier on the face, poor Abigail

SK I wish I lived closer so I could help you out x

Where is Tjuice??????? and both LIbras hope you are all OK x

sweetkitty · 26/03/2009 09:44

Jodie - that's fantastic news about your friend, I remember you telling us she had lost her baby last year, doesn't seem like a year ago does it? Thanks for the offer of help usually I'm ok with taking them all everywhere but you just get reminded that you don't have nay help sometimes when you see others with loads IYSWIM. DP has booked the day off work for her next school visit so he can take her

Isaidno - wow you are a brave woman train with 3 of them

disney - hope the GP gets you sorted out soon

smudge - nice to see you x

Well terrible night here last night, have one snotty baby and her breathing is all stuffy, she was up about 6 times not able to settle and getting frustrated as she was having difficulty feeding. Have gave her some Calpol today all you can do to try and ease some of the discomfort.

Better go house like a bombsite as per usual, not going to toddlers today so have DD2 here.

bebejones · 26/03/2009 11:54

Pigley, I used Kamillosan on P, she gets a sore red neck from the dribble probably wouldn't put it on hands while she is awake coz prob not nice to suck...although saying that P didn't seem to mind when I was bf (got it for sore nips but also good on nappy rash)

Going to invest in some skibz for P I think...the dribbling is getting worse! She is STILL desperately trying to crawl without much luck, she is so close (has been for weeks) it must be so frustrating for her. She does get around though, mainly by shuffling & using her face to push herself along!

Welcome back Smudge, what's new with you?

mama2leah · 26/03/2009 14:29

hiyaaaaaaaaaaa

Hiya
Just a quick one to ask if ThePuddingChef is on the FB group and, if yes, can someone go be nice to her please? I don't do Facebook for various reasons, or I would do it myself. She's haveing a hard time in RL, and now she's getting a hard time on another thread on here.
Cheers
Pol
