pf soften onions, seal some beef (cheap cut, in squares ?braising steak) add a jar of pre made tomato sauce, meat stock cubes, red wine, carrots and simmer for a couple of hours not too low.

longwayfromhome · 06/01/2009 17:15

pertelote - lots of thoughts for your whole family

Pertelote Marianne is blaze through with flying colors. She is a member of the Due AUG08 club and that is what these kids do...they BLAZE!!!

Sazzles here's a site you may already know about VRBO. It's Vacation Rentals By Owner. I've rented a few house after finding them listed here. It's not limited to the States so EVERYONE can have a look-see and maybe find that perfect vacation get-away.

Sorry about all the cold weather. It's GRAY/GREY/GRAY/GREY here and Raining/Raining/Raining/Raining. YUK! Kinda giving me the blues, really.

TwilightSurfer · 06/01/2009 20:38

Marianne will blaze. She is blazing sounds right too. You know I mean well but MY MIND just isn't what it should be. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

dizzydixies · 06/01/2009 20:45

pertelote I agree with all others that she will be getting the best of care and attention and I think I speak for everyone on the thread that on the day we will all be sending you EVERY POSITIVE HEALING THOUGHT we have - please remember to be taking good care of yourselves too

dizzydixies · 06/01/2009 20:52

CC here you are tom and jerry lunchbox

poppysocks · 06/01/2009 21:07

Sazzles - Lucky you! Your CM sounds fab. The ones round here all worried that if I needed a Monday afternoon (for example) extra one week, they wouldn't be able to help with it due to ratios etc. Having said that the nursery can't always, but that's another story..The theory is though that with more staff it can all be a bit more fluid.

Boeuf bourgignone recipe sounds yum. Will be trying that soon methinks. In the meantime, still waiting for shopping to turn up so that I can replenish my chocolate supplies . Oh, here it is!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/01/2009 21:21

Both dcs sound asleep.

My dsis didnt bring dd home till gone 7 and got her eady for bed for me. I put her in bed at 8.10, she was asleep by 8.13pm.
That has to be a record.

Ds however took 45 min.(rocked, patted etc..) Oh well cant have it all.

TwilightSurfer · 06/01/2009 21:27

No1 that sounds great.

Poppy put down the chocolate and step over to the Hot Mamas thread.

reese's tummy still bothering her. i'm thinking i'm going to have to go back to milk based formula. this soy just clogs her up. the applesause she ate earlier hasn't completely kicked in yet. she laying on her belly now across my legs while i pat her back. this totally cut out her screaming.

TwilightSurfer · 06/01/2009 21:27

oof now she's snoring. lol
she's out cold.

dizzydixies · 06/01/2009 21:35

can I just say that poppy has no need for a hot mamas thread

No1 how is your back just now? was thinking of you earlier as I persued a kiddies boutique this afternoon

TS am sorry about poor Reese's tum. DD2 had terrible problems with constipation and we eventually had to get glycerine suppositories to shift it all out worked bloody wonders though

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/01/2009 21:39

OOOhh Dizzy did you buy/see anything nice???

Back ok ish. Its actually in my mid upper back (not my usual lower back prob this time)

I took dd out of car,had her on left hip, while I lifted ds out in his car seat with other hand and something just 'went'
Chiro said something to do with misaligned Rib and trapped nerve. I have been ignoring tolerating the pins and needles/skin crawlng sensation behind my shoulder blade since pregancy. Silly me.

ts poor reese she must be feeling awful

dizzydixies · 06/01/2009 21:41

I may have purchased a few choice items

and then put DD2 in the car (right outside so don't panic) and gone back in to ask them to reserve her birthday presents which were 1/2 price in their sale - her birthday is in MAY!!!!

will see if I can find what I got

TwilightSurfer · 06/01/2009 21:43

just trying to recruit

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/01/2009 21:44

My dsis has been talking to my neighbour today who had a baby few weeks ago.
She told my sis that she is really struggling.
Apparently the poor woman is getting so much conflicting advice she does not know where to turn.
She was told she could not BF her elder 2 children as her nipples were too big so she expressed and fed both that way for a long time (twice the work imo)
This time she was determined to give it another try.
They have now said as baby has loat 1lb that she is hungry and she should stop bf and change to ff. she has.
Baby now has colic, she was told to try colief, which she has and has been told by another health proff. that she shouldnt give her that,as its for lactose intolerance.
Sounds like she has really had enough and cant cope/settle poor baby.

dizzydixies · 06/01/2009 21:49

lol TS if I ever go for Prime Minister I'm having you as my campaign manager

poor neighbour No1 nothing worse than conflicting advice when you're struggling. does she have nobody nearby who can help her out? Colic is hellish at the best of times, DD1 had it and I've been so grateful the next two didn't

found links for what I got for DD2. I paid £30 for both of them in a half price sale sp am quite pleased!
cradle and highchair

dizzydixies · 06/01/2009 21:51

dress for DD2 and dress for DD1 and for Dylan

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/01/2009 21:52

awww how cute are they
Marcus is now crying like his world is ending,oh now he has stopped

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/01/2009 21:54

love the dresses too, and them shoes are gorgeous. Think I may be browsing that site when I ahve settled ds.

TwilightSurfer · 06/01/2009 22:00

OH I'm excited. So when are you running for Prime Minister.

dizzydixies · 06/01/2009 22:02

Ok ladies - am in need of your advice.
How do you know your LO is needing solids? I'm starting to think Seb is needing to start
He seems to be constantly hungry. I give him both sides before bed, and he still seems hungry afterwards. he's been trying to grab food out of my hands. He even brought my cheese sandwich to his mouth yesterday and then looked at me like he didn't quite know what to do next. Is it worth trying do you think? He's 16 weeks now.
On the same topic - what is baby rice? how is it packaged etc, because DP is getting fussy about giving him anything from a jar. Just getting a bit desperate here, and not sure what to do next.

sambo303 · 06/01/2009 22:17

Ann it could be the 16week growth spurt - my ds has just come out the other side and I was also considering ff/food etc but things seem to have calmed down a lot (ds is 17 weeks 5 days today)
