noooo CC don't use him - bad feedback!

TwilightSurfer · 05/01/2009 21:20

Cyteen you also brought the idea of MORE SEX in the New Year to all of MN. Don't forget.

cyteen · 05/01/2009 21:24

ha ha, yes, sex and swearing

TwilightSurfer · 05/01/2009 21:26

right then cyteen has the sex and swearing...who's got the drugs and rock-n-roll???????

cyteen · 05/01/2009 21:27
TwilightSurfer · 05/01/2009 21:27

Sazzles I have remarked.

TwilightSurfer · 05/01/2009 21:28

LOL!
well then...carry on

PetitFilou1 · 05/01/2009 21:32

Sex drugs and rock n roll - cyteen you are making me feel old. Last time I had all three together was about ten years ago

On 13th I can get a train (if I rush ds1 into school and rush out again and drive like the clappers to the station) at 9.12 that gets in at 10.15 or one that gets in at 11.15. I will have to leave on the 1.30pm train to get back to be in time to pick ds1 up from school. Will anyone else be around at 10ish? And where am I actually going in Bristol - don't know it at all....?

Sazzles I just made the mistake of going out there as I left a nappy on the line - it is frozen solid! So it can stay there. Heating on tonight here too. Last night when dd groaned at on point I checked the thermometer on the monitor and it was 10 in our room, I rapidly got DD extra blankets she was only in her sleeping bag poor child

fcg (c=cooking)
dd1 just said, "mommy you are a great cooker. this is awesome."

she's talking about my now world famous homemade chicken tacos.

she also made a similar comment about my amazing baked chicken nuggets, blackeyed peas and mashed potatoes last saturday night.

TwilightSurfer · 06/01/2009 02:41

can i just say i am so tired my eyes are crossing.

i was suppose to go to sleep two hours ago but reese was really fussy. she's a little constipated so i'm having to comfort her loads.

i actually feel trapped in front of my computer, patting her back, bouncing her, occasionally pacing the floor.

poor poor little girl

AnnVan · 06/01/2009 08:40

morning all

Knackered. Seb decided not to sleep till 12.30 then woke up at 645. Am soooo tired.
On the positive side I've ordered a new changing bag. I'm bored of the ugly boots one that a million other people have.
Little man has done a series of enormous poos and fallen asleep on my lap.
going to put him down and have a nap myself.

sambo303 · 06/01/2009 09:01

Ann give me a pint of that coffee, 5 sugars

day 3 (or should that be night 3) of sleep training: ds woke hungry just before 10 so fed him and went to bed. ds up at 2am, took me 9 minutes to settle him, return to bed feeling smug. ds up at 3.40am and thereafter what seemed every 10 minutes until I realised it was 5.30am then fed him and he slept til 8.

Trouble is I actually do think he was hungry at 3.40. Feel bad. Should I have fed him then? Is he too young for sleep training and the night before last was just a fluke??? Luckily I've nothing on today apart from waiting in for old fridge to be collected and new phone to be delivered. Not sure how to proceed with the training - I think I'll try a week and reassess.

VG good news on work postponment. I have been stressing about childcare too - I've decided to use a CM, like Sazzles I'd like the home environment for DS. Went to 2 nurseries and came away from them horrified and upset - that's just me cos to me a wee bairn should be with his mummy at home and CM is a surrogate mummy. Also read a recent Unicef report which said that children in nurseries show an increased tendency to anti social behaviour in later life, something to do with being with other children the same age rather than mixed ages. Guess that's got to do with anthropological stuff, right? Anyhoo, it chimed with my concerns. We have a Meet the Minder day in Feb and I'm hoping to investigate then.

btw Sazzles I'm of 2 days a week work, I think I might enjoy work if it was for only 2 days per week.

congrats to ts on being fcg. Cooking nutritious meals every day for a family is a vastly underrated skill

VG do you do a schoolrun with your DS1? Our schools have a list of childminders who live close/do schoolruns there which is useful if it's a daily part of your life. I'd recommend a CM if you can get past the initial terror of your baby liking them better than you. I just find the littlies get more of an adventure as they usually do schoolruns and breakfast/tea clubs so the babies get to meet all sorts of older kids, plus plenty of peace and quiet in the daytime. Word of mouth is best to narrow it down, then visit them at home for a cuppa and a chat.

TS how do you do black-eyed peas so they taste nice? I neeeed to know.

Does anyone not have a changing bag? I gave away the one I hunted high and low for in the end and have gone back to a free cotton Bookstart shopping bag! Guess now I have a car and 3 schoolruns a day (mostly done on foot), I'm never too far from home so I only need to carry one nappy for each boy and one bottle. I could make the effort to be a bit more stylish though. Any ideas for dyeing/decorating cotton shopping bags?

CaptainCaveman · 06/01/2009 10:30

AW, little man no.1 got off to school fine. He was telling anyone within earshot that he was going to school today, that it was his first day, and that he had a banana in his bag for breaktime. This included telling the other 30 odd kids who were stood in the same line, also on their first day at school . He also told the secretary in the office, and the teacher who collected them all from the front door . I think he might enjoy it...

Am having the most surreal dreams for the last 4 nights, very realistic iyswim?
