well when she's all grown up they'll be having 'golden oldie' discos where music like that will be seen as from the stone age lol

great news about sucking thumb, well I think so as its what helps Dylan sleep through and gives my nips a wee deserved rest frankly!

ataraxmas · 21/12/2008 22:55

speaking of - DS1 said to me the other day...'mum, they didn't have chocolates in advent calendars in the olden days when you were young, did they?'

HIYA!!

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 21/12/2008 22:59

well cocolate hadn't been invented had it?

Surely you just chewed on a piece of coal, no?

OP posts:
dizzyjingles · 21/12/2008 23:01

is someone going to tell me what a Moldie is? have I missed something (as usual!?)

ataraxmas · 21/12/2008 23:01

a whole piece? you must be joking, we had a piece to share between the 3 of us.

mind you, can't say i miss sandwiches (dry crusts only, obviously) with those horrible meat pastes in them. Now there's a punishment I hadn't thought of... [evil mum emoticon]

ataraxmas · 21/12/2008 23:04

dizzy - seems to be a lot of it about at the moment, put it into search and you will find... too many references to put a link in to. Haven't read them mind, so can't give you a precis, sorry.

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 21/12/2008 23:05

If you want to be really horrid - Shiphams fish paste [yuck]

Although i do have rather fond memories of sandwich spread to which my DH says [yuck]

dizzy here. I'm with PF - Please don't defect

I seem to be sobbing at fecking everything these days

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 21/12/2008 23:07

Evening All

Just back from DH's work do - DD partied with the best of them! Just fed her and put her down - she was absolutely wired when I put her down but once the lights were off she was out!

Buckets - thanks for the advice but DD is only just 16 week so far from ready for anythings that's not boobie related.

Who is moldie? what is a moldie?

dizzyjingles · 21/12/2008 23:09

oops its basically a MNoldie

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 21/12/2008 23:09

your children all sound wonderful. from the mouths of babes!!! mine asked me a few days ago if she could say "damn it." mind you this is not my word. i'm actually quite good verbally when she's around...all those years in childcare.

thought i could wear the fcg title today but screwed up my potato soup at the last minute. it ended up tasting like a glass of dead sea water.[gag emoticon] seems i got a little crazy with the kosher salt. had to dump the whole pot.

sazzles i do believe it is a kind thing you did eating you sister's chocolate christmas present. she probably doesn't like the white at all anyway, right. you saved her from having to try each one herself.

dizzy on your blissful christmas experience. still under a rock here after dd1's lovely display.

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 21/12/2008 23:13

Dizzy - crying is a sign of........ is there something you would like to tell us?

ataraxmas · 21/12/2008 23:14

dizzy?!

sandwich spread... mmmmmmmmmm

dizzyjingles · 21/12/2008 23:14

lol, fecking better not be! am not in the running for the double do thank you!

no I just think I'm being a bit pathetic and emotional

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 21/12/2008 23:25

dizzy

dizzyjingles · 21/12/2008 23:27

lol right I still have to dyson express as I'm taking DD1 to the cinema tomorrow with some of her friends leaving Dh in charge of DD2 and DD3 - lordy help them as he is on his works night out tonight

hoping you're all having lovely sleeps with lovely peaceful babies

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 21/12/2008 23:51

Sazzles that recipe does sound pretty straight forward - a whole bottle of wine , that must be what makes it so tasty

I met my lovely little niece today, she makes DS look like he's twice the age of her though as she's just over 11 pounds.

TS how annoying about your soup, reminds me of the time I made a really delicious hummus and finished off by adding a dash of paprika except I picked up the ground clove instead, eurgh!!!

FestiveGardenia · 22/12/2008 08:44

Guys.

Oh rocky here this week just gone. hence not much posting.

I won't catch up with old thread, can I have new leaf please with new thread?

  • sandwich spread - uke widows - samboniece - Moldies - pf disappearing under the pile of wrapping paper - pink sunsine - and fgs TEETH -

tis all a-go-go

I have been rubbish

Apols

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 22/12/2008 09:36

VG - No need to apologise! we are here whenever you are about - some of us never seem to have anything else to do

Well I knew her partying last night would cause chaos - she was up at 12, 1.30 4.30 and then was a darling and slept until 9 - but I had to get up to sort DH out at 7.

House is finally sorted (unless you look in the office) so can have friends over for lunch today and then I have pressies to wrap.

NoroomattheCaveman · 22/12/2008 10:27

Well at the risk of jinxing myself, Oliver seems to be settled on one wake up per night to feed

FestiveGardenia · 22/12/2008 10:48

oops is indicative of current state of mind tears sprang to eyes on reading your casually kind post.

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 22/12/2008 10:54

I could not sleep last night despite only one wake up by DS - cos I was too excited about Christmas!!

Off to see my friend who now lives in LA in a mo, she's over for the holidays in her parent's London house. Am v excited (again)

Was wondering what the limit on booze was for bfing mums - HV said the odd glass of vino was ok, but a friend plied me with 2 glasses mulled wine last week, was a bit worried it was too much. Also, with the big day approaching I would like to be sure what's ok and what's not.

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 22/12/2008 13:47

VG {{{Big Hugs}}}}.

sambo this thread is really useful - especially Tiktocks post further down. From what i understand alcohol leaves the milk at about the same rate as it does blood ie; like blood it is constantly filtered by the body and hence no point in 'pump and dump'

CC hope Oliver improves today....enjoy your day out. We are out to see (in DD1's words) 'PROPER' reindeer. Our local bird park some reindeer visiting and also have a display of 'pretty lights' so we are hoping DD1 will enjoy

oops you are wonderwoman getting the house sorted so quickly. Put your feet up and enjoy lunch and a good gossip with your friends

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 22/12/2008 13:53

Sazzles LOL at raiding the Xmas pressies for snacks. what are you going to buy to replace the toblerones? How about something less tempting like some nice old lady bath salts?
I was thinking about Fuzzbox the other day, about time someone covered one of their songs.

Oops, the cauliflower stalk isn't for eating it's for sucking/chewing/chomping on like a teething toy. They're way too fibrous for her bite a bit out of even if she had a nig front snaggletooth so as long as you're watching it's quite safe.

Sambo your baby won't get drunk but there will be toxins from the alcohol that come out in BM. Pretty minimal though I'd guess for a one-off binge, esp when combined with the fact he's BF only. And they'll be crawling about eating everything on the floor soon anyway...

VG get on Ebay and order yourself a uke for the new year. Tis good for what ails ye.

Well I had the best night out I've had in not just 1 year (it being the only one) but in quite a few years actually! The Ukejam cabaret was so sweet and happy, I made friends with those neighbours, got drinks bought me by random men I got chatting to and am now dead excited about the pink ukulele awaiting me on Xmas day. We even stopped for kebabs on the walk home and DH did the nightfeed as I was too busy enjoying the sleep of the drunk. So nice to have a date with DH, feeling all loved up and Christmassy now.

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 22/12/2008 13:56

CC I've started just doing a 4oz bottle for Kurt's nightfeed on the grounds that he IMO doesn't actually need one at all. But I can't usually be bothered to try and convince him of that at 3am. Occasionally I have managed to get him back to sleep and he's had the 4oz at 6am or whenever he's woken up.
